It obviously was not intended to be your first and only banjo instruction but it is exactly what the title says it is, essential practice techniques. The publisher was also very helpful when I lost the tablature shortly after receiving the DVD and they replaced it for no cost.』
(Excellent Practice Material !!) 『This DVD is great. The reviewer above is correct in that it has many practice execises. That is what the entire DVD is about. This DVD is absolutely essential if you want to improve your rolls, timing, and technique. This is like sitting down for a good serious lesson. You can work for a good long time with this excellent DVD. Tony gives many personal tips as well. Highly recommended for real progress!』
(Not very useful) 『I bought and didn't like this much at all. I am a beginning banjo player and found it just gave exercise after exercise without any songs that were fun. I would not recommend it.』
IPhone 3G used's review (SICK moves but dosen't really help ur game!!) 『The dvd was great if u like mad blocks and dunks but if otherwise then it won't really be very good. I like it but it's not like they did to many great moves like the AND 1 mix tape.』
(I love ball but this didn't work for me.) 『If you've watched the NBA you've seen better hightlights. I really wanted to like this, but it just didn't work for me. It really wasn't worth getting, very disappointing. It just had endless highschool videos of dunks, no insight into the players or their lives or their real skills. Lots of player I didn't recognize or care about their highschool carers. Kind of boring, something like the Allen Iverson video is more interesting.』
(If you love basketball, get this DVD) 『Born to Ball is off the chain. This thing features clips of Kevin Garnett, Allen Iverson, Tracy McGrady, Paul Pierce, and Kobe Bryant, along with up and coming stars like Jason Richardson, Zach Randolph, and Amare Stodamire. And get this, all these clips came from when they were high school prep stars. It would be better though if they had longer clips and other stars. But don't get me wrong, Born to Ball is one of the freshest DVD's out there. So if you want to see some of this fresh footage, you better get Born to Ball. Oh yeah, 50 Cent is one the DVD. SWEET!!!!!!!!!』
(Off the hizzeeeeeeeee) 『Are you kidding me? AI, Kobe, TMac, Amare, The Truth all in high school. Yo, there are like 30 nba players in this joint. Best ball DVD out. 50 Cent ia off the hizzee.』
(DEFINITELY THE BEST HOOP HIGHLIGHT DVD PUT OUT THIS YEAR) 『something different from the street ball highlight dvds. good sections on paul pierce, his coach, some of his friends and a personal interview with him in his high school gym. great highlight high school footage of all-star nba basketball players run over tight 50 cent beats. if nothing else it is a nice collectors item.』 『Raise up on 'em . . . and drop it like it's hot! Cross 'em up and leave your man on his heels, then take it straight down the middle and smash on 'em Is basketball your life? Is it more than just a game? Then you GOTTA have this! Welcome to the follow up to Ball Above All and Ballin Outta Control, the hottest basketball series on the streets! This new edition features the most ridiculous moves, mad crosses, and the hottest dunks ever caught on tape. All of the excitement mixed with the hottest hip-hop tracks on the scene including a cut from 50 Cent!』
IPhone 3G used's review (TERRIFIC DANCE/POP From Sweden) 『This is the latest (7th) album (from 2001) by DJ Bobo, the man who (along with his partner AXEL BREITUNG) have been bringing us AMAZING EURO-DANCE/POP music for almost 10 years now.
If you like GREAT, CATCHY MELODIES and AWESOME BEATS, then you should deffinitely get this album. All songs are Great, and the album could be listened to from track 1 to 13 without skipping any songs. If you are a fan of a GOOD MELODIE, then this album would definitely be a real Treat to You.
The album delivers us 13 INCREDIBLE songs (there is a hidden track), 12 of which are ORIGINAL COMPOSITIONS. Track #2 (What a Feeling) is a cover of an 80's smash hit By Irene Cara (from "Flashdance" movie). I am not a big fan of cover-songs, but "What A Feeling" was a GREAT song in the 80's, and still is today in the new millenium. It is a great pick for a cover song.
If you like music by ACE OF BASE, BACKSTREET BOYS, BRITNEY SPEARS,MADONNA, JANET JACKSON, DA BUZZ, or SONIC DREAM (or if you like Eurodance/Pop genre as a whole) then you MUST get this album.
DANCE is the main style of the album. There are two SLOW BALLADS on this album. "Tell Me Why" (#10) is a LOVE BALLAD, that still retains a nice Euro-Beat. It has a VERY BEAUTIFUL MELODIE and is actually one of my EXTRA-favorite songs on this CD (all songs are my favorite). #12 "Time To Turn Off The Light" is the second Slow Ballad, also very beautiful.
"Moscow" has some Trance sound in it, VERY COOL, BOBO is keeping up with the changing times. "Man in the Mirror" has a great Beat and Melodie, and Lyrics are very meaningful. The rest of the tracks also provide us with AMAZING Melodies and Beats that only Europeans could create.
The hidden track (#13) is the one TRUE Eurodance song on this album (others are more Pop). It has very powerful female vocals and that INCREDIBLE melodie that Eurodance is famous for.
This is a truly GREAT album form this master of DANCE/POP music, and is a great addition to any good music collection. Also check out previous 6 DJ BOBO albums. They are all Great.
It is very nice to see DJ BOBO still releasing great music, and I hope he and AXEL BREITUNG continue to do so for a long time. I just wish he was more popular here in U.S. Enjoy.』
(Another Good CD) 『If you like Dj Bobo, you will like this album. Another solid efford by Bobo. The cd includes hits like Colors Of Life, Let The Party Begin, What A Feeling, Hard To Say I Am Sorry, Way To Your Heart, Dreaming Of You, Say It Again. Ok, that's 7 songs out of 12 that were on the charts in different countries around the world. Must not a bad album, eh? The two most popular hits from the album are Colors Of Life and What A Feeling. Both are great tracks that are worth to buy the album for. Enjoy!』
(Not his best work.) 『I have almost all DJ bobo's cd's and i think this is not the best I've seen from him. Preview samples first before buying.』 『2001 release for German eurodance-pop superstar who's had huge hits with, 'Somebody Dance With Me' (his first hit in 1994) and his 1999 LP, 'Level 6'. 12 tracks including a remake/duet of 'What A Feeling' with the lady who first made it a #1 hit in 1983, Irene Cara. Standard jewel case.』
No es una mala cancion, me recuerda we are the world de Michael Jackson.
Vuelve (4.5/5): Muy dance y electronica y artificial.
No me gusta nada.
(Different style, boring and dull) 『Enjoying the major success of "Tierna La Noche", Fey goes on to release her third album "El Color de los Suenos." Unlike the previous two albums, "El Color..." is much more slow and acoustic. I'm not one to compare but it seems this album was much of a let-down for me because I really loved the energy from her first two albums.
1. Cielo Liquido 4/5 - This one is much like her previous hits; euro-dance like and full of energy. It is weak in the area of the chorus. Still an excellent song to listen to.
2. La Madrugada, tu y la radio 2/5 - I don't like the synth beats; they're way to repetitive. The song lacks anything special. Once in a blue moon I'll listen to it.
3. Ni tu ni nadie 4/5 - Her first single off this album. Not as fast as "Cielo Liquido" but nonetheless a good catchy beat.
4. La espuma de los dias - 1/5 - The beat is slower and overall it's nothing special. It seems to drone on and on and on...
5. Diselo con Flores 1/5 - Dance song. However, this one suffers from an annoying chorus that repeats itself so much that it drives me nuts by the end of the song! Once in a blue moon I'll listen to this one
6. Canela 2/5 - Acoustic ballad radio hit. I suppose its good, but I don't care much for ballads.
7. Vuelve 1/5 - Fast dance tune, but its very dull and bland.
8. El 1/5 - Another single release. It is a dance song but the melody is a little childish. This song also lacks anything special.
9. Almibar 3/5 - Might be too generous with this but it's an ok song. Not as slow as "Canela" but still along the lines of a ballad.
10. No Tengo Novio 5/5 - Probably my favorite. The tune's not so great, but the lyrics are great! I love the message it sends. Too bad its just an album filler.
11. El color de los Suenos 1/5 - Slower tempo, but a really bad synth melody at the beginning. Another uninteresting, dull and boring tune.
12. De corazon a corazon - 0/5 - There's no definate melody to this song. It starts off somewhat silent, then picks up to some weird tempo. After the chorus is some weird video game-like noises. Awful song.
13. Flor de un dia 1/5 - Ballad. Boring, boring boring, but not as bad as de corazon a corazon
14. Iye 3/5 - This is not really a song, it's some kind of conclusion (57 seconds long). It's upbeat and catchy and I actually LIKE it better than half the songs on this album.
Overall, I do not recommend this album if you're trying out Fey for the first time; this is not a good representation of her true style. True, the dance gets boring after a while, but the effort put into this album is evident. If I weren't such a Fey fanatic and an album collector, I would have sold this.
I do like the artwork, though. The CD insert reveals four interchangable covers in red, blue, yellow and green if you're ever bored and feel like swapping covers. Other than that, not much else.』
IPhone 3G used's review (A common man's point of view.) 『I bought this ballet to see the two principle dancers Nina Ananiashvili and Fadeyetchev because I think they dance well together. I was not disappointed in their dancing, however, I only have this one copy (of Don quixote) so I have nothing to compare it to. I was not impressed with the acting of the Don Quixote character, however, and it took me several viewings to figure out what is taking place on the stage. Also, I have not had the urge to replay it just to hear the music again. Is this the same Minkus as La Bayadere? One is called Ludwig Minkus (La Bayadere) and the other is called Leon Minkus on the album covers.
One thing I noticed was that the producers of these ballets are not above changing an act after a live production and inserting a correction, perhaps because of a mistake made during the performance. When Nina does her fouettes, there is no sign of Don Quixote and his sidekick Sancho Panza behind her, as there is in the scenes just before and after. Whatever the case may be, she is the epitome of beauty and grace when she is performing. I believe I read somewhere that the fouette is considered circus, if so, give me circus because I just love to see any ballerina do the fouette. Nina is an expert with that movement. I noticed Darcey Bussel did a few in the Royal Ballet production of Sylvia Delibes: Sylvia. (Please be careful and do NOT confuse the Royal Ballet version with the Paris Opera Ballet version) If you do not have this ballet, (Royal Ballet) please do yourself a huge favor and get it. It's worth every penny they ask, for the sumptuous color, sets, and music. Delibes music is as good as anything Tchaikovsky wrote, and that goes for Coppelia also The Australian Ballet - Coppelia. Two ballets you HAVE to have.
But, I digress, as we were reviewing Don Quixote, weren't we? I got the answer to my question concerning Minkus above. They are the same man, there being a little confusion as his name passed down through history. I find that his music grows on me as I listen to it more and more. Even Tchaikovsky's music had to grow on people as history tells us that his Swan Lake score was not well recieved at first and now it is the worlds most beloved music. I will replay Don Quixote now just to hear the music.
This copy of Don Quixote is worth being owned by you for the very reason I bought it, to see Nina Ananiashvili and Fedeyetchev dance and act together. By the way, this is a comedy and they are quite good at comedy. You won't find more color in any ballet than this especially in the town market scenes with the Toreadors and Spanish girls in their colorful dresses and capes. The gypsy camp is a little dark and they are trying to film people dressed in black against a black background but still quite a lot of color even there. The windmill scene and the dream scenes were also very well done, but the ballroom scene was really grand. Of course this is where the fouette movements seem to have been inserted at a later date. I recommend this copy of Don Quixote.
』
(Excellent Soloist Nina! But Dry ballet Company) 『Yes i could give 4 stars for Ananiashvili, Fadeyetchev. cause they are the one bringning life for this production, and the rest its vry awful a mediocare ballet company. Espcially the part of don quixote's dream, the Cupid has a very dry expression, and the other soloist is very stiff when dancing, no continuity of movements no grace! I can only say Bravo for Ananiashvili, Fadeyetchev!
』
(This original release is a steal.) 『This performance has just been re-released at three times the price. Get this original version, enjoy the wonderful dancing, and make your mother proud of your shopping ability. Ananiashvili is the star and deserves all the superlatives you can think of. Fedeyetchev is a powerful dancer and a pleasure to watch, although his acting is not as engaging as Nina's. But the performance is enjoyable throughout with no let-downs or disappointments. Watch for the Hedy Lamarr-like dancer in the gypsy camp.』 『Prima ballerina Nina Ananiashvili stars in this spectacular new full-length production of one of the world’s favorite ballets Don Quixote with the Russian State Perm Ballet. In this delightful ballet, Nina Ananiashvili and Aleksei Fadeyetchev portray the lovers Kitri and Basilio; Alexsandr Astafiev is featured in the title role as Don Quixote, and Evgeny Katusov is his comic squire Sancho Panza. Thisjoyous new production of composer Leon Minkus’ ballet, which tells the tale of an old knight who dreams of chivalry and tilts at windmills, is a visual treat for dance lovers of all ages. Nina Ananiashvili’s superb technical command is a thrilling dance experience which the viewer will want toenjoy again and again. Don Quixote: Alexsandr Astafiev, Sancho Panza: Evgeny Katusov, Kitri/Dulcinea: Nina Ananiashvili, Basilio: Aleksei Fadeyetchev, Gamache: Vladimir Golub. Performed September 20th, 1992, at NHK Hall.』
