『Back in 1992, when I was at a music store, McAllen, TX, I was looking for some CD's, they were playing this one, in fact the song I first heard was "Trip", and I like it a lot, I bought it at that time. The whole CD sounds great. "Deserted Cities of the Heart", is a cover, and it sounds pretty good. Another song, "Who Do You Love", I like it, easy listening. "Hello Wonderful", progressive sound, but with a little grunge sound, I like the WHOLE album. This band comes from Seattle, WA. so by the time and origin you may guess what type of music you will find out, Grunge, but with a mixture of Progressive sound, but in an easy listening, this mixture comes out great. The band members are: Curtis Lee Chandler, guitar and vocals; Martin Sutlovishnu, bass; and on drums Ruppi Barnickel. All songs are written by Chandler, except "Have you heard", which was written by Chandler and Sutlovishnu, and "Deserted Cities of the Heart", by Jack Bruce (Cream) and Pete Brown. I don't know what happened to this band, it seems that this is their only CD, what a shame. If you have the opportunity, buy it.』

『As described within the CD cover insert: It was April 1998 that I first encountered the poems of Ken Nordine, a US media-personality, known mainly for his voice-over work for American TV and radio. In the fifties he made a series of word-paintings characterizing colours for commercials for the Fuller Paint Company. Later he extended the series to a set of 34 colours and poems. They appealed to me as soon as I heard them. For someone who enjoys writing compositional cycles the temptation was irresistible, which is why I decided to write a series of pieces for the Trio BraamDeJoodeVatcher, utilising the same 34 colours. In some pieces I have tried to characterize the actual colour, in others to comment or reflect personal associations with the colour or its name.Since one of my deepest convictions is that music must remain subject to change, to ensure that each performance of a piece is different I am continually aware of the alternative directions an association can take. Often there will be little left of the initial characteristics, associations and comments; the more a piece is performed, the further it will wander from the original idea: any loyalty to that original idea is totally unimportant. My associations are not those of the listener, player or even of myself during the previous performance...We performed this programme with pleasure on a concert tour of Indonesia organized by the Erasmushuis: in later performances in The Netherlands we were often joined by the vocal artist Jaap Blonk, who thoroughly investigated the possibilities of Nordine's texts, and the improvising dancers Katie Duck, Eileen Standley and Masako Noguchi. 『My son already counts and recognizes numbers. But I bought this for a plane trip, thinking it would be entertaining, and it was the worst purchase I've made from Amazon. It's probably the most boring counting DVD out there. It says for ages 2 and up but if your child is a typical active 2 yr old, this will bore him/her to tears. It's very repetitive with boring graphics and sound. Don't be fooled by the description, it is not interactive at all. My 2.5 yo really likes the Richard Scarry Counting video. Old, but well done and much more effective in actually teaching counting.』

『One of the worst engineered recordings in recent times. Recorded in a very reverberant Church in NYC. Engineering is amateur, and performances are at best serviceable. Stick with the (excellent) Berberian recording of Circles (still available on Wergo). Many other far superior recordings of the Folk Songs on the market; ditto the Sequenza. One to skip. Shame on MODE for this release.』

Melvin truly carries the tradional gospel music to another level. He starts out with "Great Day, when Jesus Comes." Then he knocks your socks off with Harvey Watkins, Jr. and "Be with me Jesus!" Now if you have been raised up on quartet music, you know this song. It was awesome. Then Melvin and Jr. Watkins sings, "Won't be no storm always." Now that song, O my God, that song is awesome. The video just gets better. If you don't have it buy it. My Mom passed away in December, I am buying this videon for my Father, who used be in several quartets. If you are going through some difficult times I recommend this video to you. "It won't be no storms always," will encourage you. Thanks Melvin!』
