Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (QUITE A MOST UNUSUAL SOUNDTRACK) 『There are many other soundtracks from Jane Powell flicks we'd like to see released on CD, but it's not likely that's gonna happen soon. Still, we nod to DRG, who continues to do masterful jobs releasing the unexpected (and, frankly, sometimes unwarranted) soundtracks in their "Hollywood Collector Series." "The Girl Most Likely," the bouncy (but, ultimately, forgettable) RKO Jane Powell flick --- a musicalization of the Ginger Rogers vehicle "Tom, Dick and Harry" --- is best remembered for its two Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane politically incorrect tunes ("Crazy Horse" and "All the Colors of the Rainbow") and Kaye Ballard's delightful big-screen turn. (The only ditty written by the team is the title tune, penned by Nelson Riddle, who scored the flick, and lycrist Bob Russell.) This isn't film music at its best, but the curiosity factor is charming, especially on "I Like the Feeling," a song co-star Cliff Robertson was supposed to sing in the film. It was cut from the film, but here, it's back, with Cliff and Janie warbling ... complete with the actual heartbeats of the two lovers. Quite a most unusual day!』 『Though successful screen adaptations ofMy Fair Lady,The Sound of Music, andWest Side Storywere yet to come at the time of this 1958 RKO musical,The Girl Most Likelywas one of the last gasps of the original Hollywood film musical's golden days. This first-time CD release rescues the film's vibrantly kitschy soundtrack from oblivion, showcasing the studio's belated musical adaptation of its previous Ginger Rogers vehicle,Tom, Dick and Harryand a vibrant slate of songs byMeet Me in St. Louiscomposers Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane. Nelson Riddle brightens up the proceedings considerably with his romping title track and arrangements that crackle with jazzy big-band flair. As a bonus, the film's originally deleted duet between stars Jane Powell and Cliff Robertson, "I Like the Feeling," has been restored. New liner notes by composer Hugh Martin are included.--Jerry McCulley』

Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (always too short) 『A really good concert with a really good sound. It's just too short. For those who like side projects from living colour's members, 2 dvd must be seen : yohimbe brothers, head>>fake.』
(living colur, still the best!) 『First of all, thank you to the producers of this DVD! Living colour are still one of the greatest bands out there, these four men really have a lot to teach to fake rockers everywhere... The musicianship is just amazing, only dream thether come to mind as being a group of similarly gifted and proficient professionals...
The only complaint is for its length, too many songs (especially the most recent ones) are not featured, so... Can't wait for the next LC DVD!!!
A must-have for people looking for music played by real musicians with great groove and attitude!』
(Still on top form) 『Everyone of these guys still can 'whip it out' (as Frank Zappa may have said) in mega-awesome form. Top notch production for a smaller venue. I don't even care about the size of the set list- between watching all of these guy's amazing skill as musicians - everything else is cast aside and forgotten about. Almost all of the 'bullets' are here. Amazing band. Amazing performers. Top recommendation!』
(Excellent) 『Living Colour has lost nothing in the time they were apart. This performance is not only great performance-wise, but the sound quality and mix is near perfect. My only complaint is it's too short. Despite that, after watching just the opening track "Desperate People" I was floored and thought "yeah, that alone was worth the money!"
』
(living colour) 『Best live band on the planet still bar none! Vernon is crazy, will is solid, dougs bass duznt sound like one, but fantastic all the same and coreys voice is on top form!! 』

(Superb funk DVD) 『This DVD is absolutely a must for all funk-lovers. Maceo is the greatest in this genre, which he fully proves in this funky live-/docu-movie.』
(And the DVD turned funky!) 『This live recording catches characteristically funky renditions of 'Cold Sweat' and 'Gimme Some More' as well as a boisterous P-Funk medley with George Clinton. The Cream of the Funk : Maceo Parker (alto saxophone), Pee Wee Ellis (tenor saxophone), Fred Wesley (trombone), Melvin Parker, George Clinton, Kym Mazelle, Rebirth Brass Band. Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (Awesome!) 『This is a great DVD. It starts very basic and is a super help for those of us who are just starting!』
(Great help - thanks Cindy Cashdollar) 『This DVD is really a great place to start if you want to learn the dobro. Cindy Cashdollar is an excellent teacher and wonderful player. The songs are familiar and cover a decent range of styles. She demonstrates the material well and the camera work is good, showing both hands. The sections on holding the instrument and bar are really good. She knows we are starting from scratch. If you learn like I do, by watching and hearing rather than reading, you will get a lot from this DVD. The sound is not the greatest when the band is playing along, but this was in the early days of Homespun and the newer releases are much better in that respect. Overall this is a really solid learning tool that is very helpful. Hearing what Cindy can do with simple material by getting into the sound and tone of the dobro is inspirational. Highly reccommended.』
(STEEL RAG) 『I want to buy a Steel Guitar now but can't find one in the North East I waiting untill I go south on a vacation and check out the Pawn Shops』
(Beginner Dobro) 『I bought both this dvd and the Jerry Douglas DVD. As a true beginner to the dobro, this dvd did a better job at starting with the basics. It breaks everything down so you can really see and understand what is going on. I would recommend both dvd's but would start with this one first.』
(Great Beginning Dobro Video.) 『This lesson is a great guide to all the basics you will need to learn to play the dobro. Begins with tuning (G-B-D-G-B-D) and some basic G scales; with advice on holding the bar properly and what type of finger picks to use. There are strums, slides, rhythmic chops, and a few riffs, as well as hammer-ons and pull-offs. The songs (Wildwood Flower, Sailor's Hornpipe, Fireball Mail, and Wayfaring Stranger) showcase all the techniques you will learn. Video lessons don't get any better than this.』 『Here is a hands-on Dobro course that will teach you to play your favorite bluegrass and country tunes in no time– even if you’ve never played before! Jam-packed with information, this 90-minute DVD utilizes close-ups, split screens and easy-to-follow instruction to make it easy for you to learn.
Cindy Cashdollar, one of the shining stars of the Dobro and lap steel world, helps you develop accuracy and good intonation, and increases your depth of musical knowledge. She details essential techniques such as right hand rolls, rhythm picking, crosspicking, tone control, hammer-ons and pull-offs, damping, chord building, and how the scales and chords fit together to form major and minor melodies. Cindy even discusses Dobro construction and maintenance to give you a full understanding of your instrument.
To help you put all this information together, Cindy teaches four all-time favorite country tunes, each one illustrating a different technique, key or style to prepare you for further Dobro adventures.

Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (Dissapointed) 『I was SO dissapointed recieving my new Swan Lake DVD; a HD DVD....I have no HD DVD player and I did not notice that is was a HD movie...... I really suggest that Amazon warn about the format - HD....who has a HD DVD player these days???
』
(Unusual coreography) 『I very much disliked the coreography (Nureyev, 1984) and viewers should be warned that it differs considerably from the standard one. For one thing, the "battle" scene in the finale (the Prince vs. Rothbart) has been played down to a few steps! The other negative point of this performance is the spartan bareness of the theater. Why didn't they dress-up the stage at least during the ball scene? I'm hoping this performance will grow on me, so that the 50 dollars I spent on it will start hurting less and less.』
(Beware of this disc) 『Before you purchase this disc, be sure that your receiver will decode its soundtrack. The only soundtrack available on the disc is DTS-HD. Because I'm using an older surround processor, I can't play it because there is no sound. I'm not planning on running out to purchase a new processor just so that I can watch one disc.』
(Ballet in the family room) 『Tchaikovsky - Swan Lake / Nureyev, Letestu, Martinez, Paris Opera Ballet [HD DVD]Since purchasing both a HD DVD and a Blu-Ray player, we have been wondering why there isn't much of a selection for the classical performing arts. Surround sound and high-def picture both lend themselves perfectly to programming such as Ballet, Opera, and Theatre. Swan Lake was the first offering we saw and ordered it immediately. We were not disappointed. The surround sound provided center seating acoustics as well as the live performance sound of the dancer's feet upon the stage......very live performance type of experience. The high-def picture was flawless and provided a depth that gave the impression of a bird's eye view of a live performance. Equipment used Toshiba HD-XA2 HD DVD player; Denon AVR-4806ci receiver; Polk 7.1 speakers; HP MD5880N high-def TV. All connected via HDMI.』
(Great) 『Quality excellent over all but as an earlier review said the camera work could be better.』
