『I was introduced to Color Theory about six years ago. Since that time, I have kept close tabs on the music of Color Theory. I have always been impressed by the nature of the lyrics. The albums opt to delve into more complex issues than standard pop and do so with eloquent simplicity. The music exudes a great depth of feeling, while still being precise and smartly orchestrated. (I find that frequently, when artists create a deeply meaningful or passionate song, the precision, integrity, and compositional aspects of the music suffer. Color Theory balances a passionate feeling with high musical standards.) And the music is very well composed, produced, and engineered. Color Theory blends strong melodies, full harmonies, sophisticated musical ideas, and solid instrumentation along with pensive and meaningful lyrics to create excellent music.』

The combination of inspiring lyrics and mesmerizing instrumentation leaves me wanting more when the album ends. I would encourage everyone to check out this synth masterpiece. 『I'm listening to Synth since I am 15 years old. During that time I recognized that many bands, especially bands from Sweden or Germany tried and still try to copy Depeche Mode in any way. But that is not the way Color Theory (Brian Hazard) makes Synth. Perfect Tears is the best evidence as it includes a wide spectrum of Synth styles. I prefer to listen to the eighties-style songs like April's Bonfire, Guilt Reflected and For Good. In my opinion this songs are highlights at the world-wide Synth-Scene. All songs are made of Synth combined with piano which make the songs smooth and pleasant to listen. But it is not only the music and the piano playing that is great. Brian Hazard also has a fantastic voice and he gave all songs marvelous lyrics. It is not an album for dancefloor but it is suitable for listening during autumn and winter where things run slower and where it is gloomy outside.』

『I love having a disk like this playing in the background while I read, and this one if really great. The video is 68 minutes long and includes footage of some of the most beautiful spots on Earth. Great nature shots a well as joyous images of people dancing, etc. The audio track includes 15 original instrumental compositions, very relaxing without being typical "massage" music.』

MERCURY sound. At it's best, at it's fullest.

A super recording. Orchestral music like you've never heard before . . . in your home. Right, the better the stereo equipment the more you are likely to hear tons of details out of the microscopic hills and valleys of this glorious cd. However, a more modest hi-fi system will make it as well, at least to reveal the essential of the music. It all comes from the legendary "Golden Age" LP era. The album, issued by Mercury/Philips (a package of two discs), has GLORIOUS sound--as much as good as the vinyl LP. To be underlined, a very nice job at remastering those LEGENDARY archives, thanks to Wilma Cozart and the Mercury team. For orchestral music that one is a good reference cd (the sound is almost lifelike). Howard Hanson's music is delightful ; he's got a solid reputation as a composer and is a skillful conductor. One of my best picks in American music. The 'Merry Mount' is a wonderful work.*****』

(Known Non-concert Concert!)

『This "Concert" was MEANT TO BE a low-budget lip-synching videolized images of Celine Dion aimed at the English-speaking North American market in order to introduce this new personality to the public in moving images. It was filmed very early in the 90's, during the time when she began to put out a lot of English language songs, composed specifically to be launched as hits. She was not a mega-star at the time, hence the amateurish production value. When you buy something like this, you just have to be sophisticated enough to realize that this is not a real concert, and just enjoy it for what it is. Yes, the title is a little misleading (ALL advertisements are truth-bending in some way, period!), but it did not say "LIVE concert"...For all we care, it was probably "taped before a live audience." Three-stars for low production value, otherwise, Celine is great as she was.』

『My dad and I have many concert DVD's. This one is alright. The concert is obviously all on a track (except for one song.) I didnt like the way that most of the songs faded rather than ended like a REAL concert should have. Unless you'd like to see Celine live and not hear her live this DVD isn't for you..』

『Celine Dion has an incredible voice and apartently a good chorographer. The problem wth this DVD is that the person operating the camera needed to quit looking at everything else and focus on Celine! She delivers a wonderful performance just to have it degraded by the people behind the post production.
One last thing, I Cant Help Falling In Love Has LIVE after it because it's different than any album version. Also it's very evident that she does sing.』
『Filmed in Quebec in 1995, this concert souvenir captures Celine Dion as she turned the corner from pop contender to platinum princess. Long a star in Canada, and a major draw throughout the Francophone world, the Québecois vocalist was still a relatively new, if increasingly successful, commodity stateside. A clutch of single hits, augmented by two big soundtrack themes, hadn't entirely erased the suspicion that Dion's career was being bolted together on an assembly line not far from Mariah Carey's--apart from frequent overlaps in production support, both singers relied on similar mixtures of sweeping ballads and crisp, uptempo dance workouts, and both were notorious for their vocal gymnastics.

The Colour of My Loveworks hard, as does Dion, to convince us she's already a major diva, and the approving crowd of hometown fans obviously agrees. Dion, her hair cropped in a shorter, curly 'do, is equally chic in black suit or blue gown, a troupe of dancers invades for strategic uptempo pieces, and her studio duet partners for both "When I Fall in Love"(Clive Griffin) and "Beauty and the Beast" (Peabo Bryson) pop up to repeat their roles. The star attacks each song with laser-like focus, and she radiates a sense of theatrical drama.

Technically, however, the special suffers from direction that mistakes swooping camera movement, sudden zoom shots, tilted frames, and other concert video clichés for real drama. More problematic is abundant evidence of considerable post-production sweetening in the star's vocals--like other post-rock divas with arena-sized ambitions, Dion (or perhaps her producer) is apparently determined to reproduce the surreal sonic precision and scale of the records. It's a slippery slope that tempts perfectionists to leave less and less of the actual performance on the soundtrack, even though Dion's huge voice would still be impressive (and possibly more exciting) if rendered without such editorial tweaks.--Sam Sutherland』
