My 4 year old daughter will even watch it, she loved these videos when she was younger. I would have given it 5 stars except that the "Buddies" aren't in it as much as the other videos, like On the Farm. My son really loves to see the actual puppets so there are points where it looses his interest. Over all I would recommend the videos.』

I ended up getting rid of it because I couldn't stand to hear the music anymore, and it seemed to be one my son could take or leave. If you don't mind the song, it is probably a good teaching tool. (Buy This, Buy Them All) 『My daughter is 2 and has been watching these for a year. We own the entire collection and even we rarely tire of them. Her has grown her vocabulary from watching this series and I can see recognition on her face when she sees things in the real world that reflect what the CBs have shown her. The music is not annoying and covers all genres. The puppets mixed with live action and lots of other babies&toddlers really hold her attention. It is so much more educational than the Baby Einsteins - I find myself really thinking those are just eye candy without much purpose. Couldn't recommend the Buddies more.』
(stands apart from others) 『My son, who is now 2 years old, began watching this when he was 15 months old. At first, it was a hard sell -- I think because the opening number threw him for a loop. He was used to Baby Einstein with classical music; and this video has lyrics. So, I put it in the car DVD player so he was forced to watch it. After a while, he began to love it. Some of the music sounds somewhat like gospel. It's a bit peculiar compared with other kids DVD's; but we've grown to like it alot. He particularly likes the segment where the puppets are shown driving construction equipment - i.e. bulldozer, dump truck, etc. Then there is a great song -- "dig, dig, dig, my excavator!" and kids are seen pushing toy dump trucks around. There is also a segment showing tools - hammer, saw, etc. While I think girls would like it, I think it's a must for boys. I wish there were more boys videos for toddlers on the market - i.e. cars, construction, trucks, etc.』

[...] you just can't beat the value , besides, the music is terrific. This is one of those one puts on to really feel the scope of world music. With samples from artists from all over the globe, in many different languages, rarely in English, some pure instrumentals, the music puntuates the universal nature and healing power of music. The sampler is heavy on African and Eastern music from esoteric faraway lands. Of particular interest is an excerpt from "Jogiya Kalingra" by Ali Akbar Khan who plays a mean Ravi Shankar-ish sitar accompanied by some reverberating tablas that send the listener into a fenzied Nirvana state and back. Another Eastern tune that is a fave is "Krishna" by Colonial Cousins, sung in English with some very poignant lyrics in light of recent ugly world events. After a mantra introduction concerning " darkness coming around and everyone fightning and killing one another" and how he should "come back as Jesus, Rama , Allah or as anyone to save the world" the music strikes a particular enlightening and optimistic chord. Other poignant lyrics are "Religion is the reason the world is breaking up into pieces." The song eventually ends with a lovely, peaceful flute and a fading chorus behind tablas that repeates "I'm waiting." The CD uses a color mark as a guide for identifying from what region of the globe the music comes from that is helpful. This is an excellent buy and well worth the [...] costs. A nice addition for World Music fans from which to seek the artists that most appeal to their tastes or just enjoy as is.』

SO I took a chance on this version, as it was advertised as being the original Atlantic master. AND what a terrific master it is. I also must say it is one of the best audio CD purchases I have made in a LONG time!
Not only is the audio crisp and clean, but there are NO annoying silences between the tracks!! Everything flows, VERY nicely. For the first time, since the release of the vinyl, do you get to hear this album as Rahsaan intended: a complete musical THOUGHT.
