Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (A masterpiece and emotional roller coaster) 『When I first heard about this musical, I had absolutely no desire to go see it. How can you possibly turn such a gut-wrenching film into a musical? Well, you can. This album will bring you to Sunday Church and back from the first song to the last. It is a wonderful mix of sad, happy, self-realization, and love songs incorporating hopes, desires and memoirs of most characters.
Even if you have not seen the musical I recomend it. The inside notes give you just enough information to follow the story from song to song and even if you see the musical later, you will be able to focus on the staging and costuming (which are also fabulous) and maybe even sing along (just not too loud).』
(Bothersome and Disappointing!) 『I am a huge fan of the Speilberg fim (I still think it's his best work..and not an alien or dinosaur in sight..), and found the book to be profoundly moving, so I had high hopes for the musical. However, now I just don't see the point. How can a musical in 2 and a half hours capture all the power and beauty of Alice Walker's book, or Spielberg's masterpiece of a film. It can't. Even though the performances are all first rate, LaChance is wonderful as Celie, it all seems strained and forced, as though the writers were desperate to incorporate all the elements of the book and film into the musical, and it doesn't always work. The finale doesn't come close to the sheer power and beauty of the ending of the film. And while the score has a couple pleasant melodies to recommend, on the whole it seems to be a hodge-podge of music, and the orchestrations don't help. They don't seem to fit the period. Start with the overture which sounds like the soundtrack for a bad 70's movie, it's too brassy and too synthesized. If you are a true theater fanatic, or a devotee of the book or movie, stay away, you'll be hugely disappointed.』
("An Amazing Musical!") 『This Compilation of songs from "The Color Purple" is nothing other than Absolutely Amazing! I have not been able to see this musical on Broadway, but I know that it is Amazing from this SPECTACULAR recording!』
(colour purple) 『When the movie came out, i was totally engrossed.Naturally when it came to Broadway , i had to have the music.I enjoyed the music but something was missing.Probably if i had seen the Broadway show it would be complete.I can't say that i had to have this to add to my collection, but instead it is an interesting addition. Not one of the best.』
(See the PLAY - it's AWESOME!) 『I listened to this CD before I saw the play and it was "OK". After I saw the play I FELL IN LOVE with the music because it was so much more meaningful! Enjoy!』 『On paper, this adaptation of Alice Walker's best-selling novel has all the markings of a hit. It makes Oprah Winfrey's debut as a theater producer, the libretto is by Marsha Norman (Night Mother), and the lyrics and music are by a trio of seasoned pop pros: Allee Willis (the eccentric woman behind "Neutron Dance" and the theme fromFriends), Stephen Bray (who worked on such Madonna hits as "True Blue" and "Express Yourself"), and Brenda Russell (the smooth soul-jazz songstress behind "Piano in the Dark"). That team has put together a series of fairly catchy songs that may lack depth but adeptly handle various idioms like gospel ("Mysterious Ways"), R&B ("Push Da Button"), and African rhythms ("African Homeland"). Though the inspirational vibe can get a bit much, softening the edges and preventing genuine artistic complexity,The Color Purpleis a great showcase for its cast. As Celie, LaChanze delivers one of her usual sensitive performances, but watch also for Elisabeth Withers-Mendes's Shug--who sings a passionate paean to Celie ("Too Beautiful for Words")--and Renée Elise Goldsberry's Nettie (duetting with LaChange on "African Homeland"). The chance to hear these women strut their stuff almost makes up for the show's weaknesses.--Elisabeth Vincentelli』

I just purchased my first plasma, and the picture of Nature's Colors was so clear...beautiful scenery and sharp colors. The best thing about this HD DVD is that I can show off my new HDTV while entertaining with the nature scenes accompanied with serene classical music. I recommend it!!』
(I was pleased...) 『Perhaps my expectations weren't as atmospheric as some, but I really enjoy this DVD and watch it all the time. I put the HD side through my 42 inch plasma and it looks and sounds magnificent. Some of the scenes were so vibrant and colorful it seemed unreal. Of course it wasn't all spectatcular but there was enough to satisfy me. I agree Planet Earth on HD is a better DVD (set), but it is also a different one. It is geared toward education and has a lot animals scenes. Nature's colors is for relaxing - lovely music accompaniement. Perfect for puttering around the house or sitting with a drink chatting to friends. I recommend!』
(What a disappointment!) 『Unfortunately to my dismay this HD DVD fails to live up to its own statement "stunning high definition 1080i". What a big disappointment! It simply falls far below of my expectation.
Although a step up from standard definition DVD, the transfer has added only some detail and depth, hardly any 3-D effect. Certain scenes are too grainy to my eyes. There's a scene (beach, wave heating the rocks) in the last song..geez...it's blur&worse than a DVD.
Some scenes are indeed repetitive. The consolations are: It gives you a kind of relaxation mood or calming effect seeing the nature sceneries&I quite enjoy the classical music pieces. 』
(Disappointing Picture Quality) 『What a pitty such a good idea but the picture Quality is not constant 70% is ok but unfortunatly a lot of disappointing scene's inbetween ruins a good concept. If you are looking for a nature disc in High DEF buy Planet Earth.』
(Overrated Scenery) 『This DVD fails to deliver high quality photography of nature's colors and some scenes are repetitive. Music pieces end just as they are starting to become enjoyable. I was disappointed.』 『This stunning High Definition 1080i video release is accompanied by the world's greatest and most recognizable music - from Bach to Beethoven to Ravel to Debussy - all in True HD and Dolby Digital Plus Surround.
From Bora Bora to Africa, from the Midwest to the Pacific Coast, from Costa Rica to Bali, from Hawaii to Arizona, from the Rocky Mountains to the Redwood Forest - this is Nature at it's most colorful and beautiful.』

Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (GOTTA LOVE YOUR OL' SCHOOL) 『I LOVE THIS ALBUM. IT BRINGS BACK MEMORIES OF MY CHILDHOOD. GREAT SONGS AND AN OVERALL GREAT ALBUM』
(Dated, but packed with '90s Goodness!) 『Listening to this in 2007, it sounds very obviously dated, but still, its a telling remnant of the early 1990s soundscape. The great part about this is that it has two songs that STILL sound amazing - "I Adore Mi Amor" and "Thinkin' Back", while most of the others sound very, very generic.
The early 90s pop machine was a strange thing indeed - much of it sounds terrible today. But this album still stands out because of its high hit quotient (six Billboard Hot 100 singles - a remarkable achievement).
Should you buy this? Yes. Its definitely more memorable than the later days output of say, the Backstreet Boys - but if you're looking for some wholesome 1990s goodness, you can do much worse than this.』
(COLOR WHO WHAT??!) 『oh baby, this is precious, someone here is actually comparing CMB to The Beatles?!?! Is that why CMB's CD is selling for a whopping 21 cents? I'd love to continue but the urge for uncontrollable laughter is just way too much, ha ha ha ha ha ha..........』
(Color them badd.) 『Most likely when someone tosses out the term boy-band, N'Sync or Backstreet Boys come to mind. However, Color Me Badd was doing their thing years before those two groups, and much better. Ok, so New Kids On The Block were around too, but they weren't as badd. These guys have a "Best Of" out also, but the best of that is basically right on this album. Included is their biggest hit "I Wanna Sex You Up". That track was in the movie "New Jack City", and is also here in reprise form. Other hits were "I Adore Mi Amore", "Thinkin' Back", and the extremely catchy "All 4 Love". The bottom line is that these guys were so badd they were good, and where else are you gonna get George Michael, Terence Trent D'Arby, Vanilla Ice, and Kenny G on the same album?』
(One of My all-time favorites!) 『Way back in 1992 I first listened to Color Me Badd and ever since I have loved their music! What I like about them is their great voices and the cool variety of music mixed in with an urban feel. My favorite singer of the band is Mark Calderon. He has such a wonderful voice and I love the songs that he has a good amount of time singing in. If you love Color Me Badd or love to hear a band that you are not familiar with then I strongly recommend that your purchase this CD today!』

Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (Good Music Short Songs) 『This CD has some wonderful music on it, however there is nothing beyond what was literally in the movie. So there are some great songs that are only 30 seconds long. That was quite disappointing.』
(Wonderful Album) 『This is a wonderful soundtrack! I originally owned the cassette version of it. My 2 favorite songs are "Sister (Miss Celie's Blues)" and "Maybe God's Trying To Tell you Something." Everytime I listen to those songs, I always visualize the scenes from the movie in my head. If you know someone who loves the movie, I recommend getting him or her this soundtrack.』
(Just What I Ordered) 『I have been looking for this CD forever. I was told that it was "out of print". I was thrilled when I found it and it was reasonably priced. I will have to day that the music in the actual movie was better than what is on the CD, but that is always the way...』
(Fabulous) 『If you've seen the movie, listening to the CD is like watching it again, but with your eyes closed. If you've seen the movie as many times as I have, you'll know exactly which scene is which as you listen to the music.』
(Interlude is great.) 『I wanted a CD that captured the mood and feelings of the movie. The score sort of recycles itself. Its important to know the title of the song so that you can understand the music. This is really a great Soundtrack.
My favorite part is the interlude, its a little long but how else can you capture the whole movie in just a few minutes!』
IPhone 3G used's review ("Fast Eddie, Let's play some pool!") 『Martin Scorsese's "The Color of Money" was the brillant sequel to my favorite movie "The Hustler". A few months ago, I found the soundtrack which features most of the great songs that are featured in the movie.
From Eric Clapton's smash hit, "It's In The Way That You Use It" to Robbie Roberton's "Main Title" the album is filled with a great blend of rock, blues, and jazz. Some of the great songs in the movie like "One More Night" from Phil Collins and "Walk On the Wild Side" from Jimmy Smith weren't on this album and it's hard to see why when the album barely runs over 30 minutes.
Still, "The Color Of Money" was my favorite movie from the 80s and most likely my favorite soundtrack too. If you like the movie you'll enjoy the music just as much. Don't Miss It!』
(Great 80's songs and instrumentals.) 『Well, first I must say I fell in love with The Color Of Money the first time I saw it and had to go out and purchase the soundtrack. It's just great. I can't stop listening to "It's the Way that You Use it" and "Werewolves in London". It's well worth the $10.』

This album is amazing, very moving, touching and inspiritational. Some amazing songs, especially the lead "Love Sees No Color." It is a beautiful, envoking song that is so true. I especially love track #13, which is a remixed version of the title track sung in 15 different languages. Amazon doesn't reveal it, but it's actually a CD+DVD bonus, the DVD has several music videos (including the title track with amazing scenes from 18 countries such as India, Korea, Brazil, Mexico, US and more), features, behind the scenes content and more. It also comes with an information booklet that also contains the lyrics to all 13 tracks. Everything is nicely packaging in a white fold-out digipak packaging design. It just plays the 2 with Joe. If you want to see the 2 episodes with Steve you have to go into another menu option. I bought this dvd for a road trip and it was frustrating that I had to climb around the car after 2 episodes so my daughter could see the rest of the dvd.』
(dvd) 『Full of learning without kids realizing it! My 4&1 yr. old love it!』
(It's great episod !!) 『One of the best episod in Blue's clue's! I have 2 same dvd, one in play in car, the other one at home. They teaches colors and "Colors everywhere song is leaning how to mix the colors. Children easy to learn colors with song. I love this episod.』
(Great for Learning) 『My son is two and has learned so much from this DVD. He enjoys mixing his own colors now and knows just which colors to put together to get a new color. And he's learned new shapes that he didn't know before (and it's just cute to hear him try and say "trapezoid"). As with any show my child watches, I watch with him and we talk about it all. He learns so much more that way. The fact that he enjoys the show makes it fun for both of us.』
(One of the best Blue's Clues ever!) 『This one is definitely one of the most played ever in our house - it entertains and teaches color and shape contents alike with fun songs, games and the usual Blue's Clues clue hunt. If you're not sure whether this series is for your toddler - go ahead and get this one. The colors are not just the regular blue, yellow and red but wonderful shades like chartreuse and aquamarine :-D As I always watch every video with my kids at least for the first time I highly recommend this one as one of my all time favorites out of the Blue's Clues series and general childrens videos as well.』 『Blue and Joe look at color, shape and art. Genre:Children's Video Rating:G Release Date:21-OCT-2005 Media Type:DVD』 『Joe and his friend Blue tackle the preschool basics of circles, rectangles, even trapezoids while sorting through Blue's hints as to where she would like most to see more shapes in "Shape Searchers." If the clues cash register, cart, and food don't add up for you, the kid chorus will help you out. The second episode finds the pair in their backyard making a "portrait of pals," a painting of their many-colored friends. But they only have primary colors, so in order to paint Orange Kitten, for instance, they have to mix red and yellow. Joe makes the most of this opportunity for a color lesson with the assistance of Shovel, who turns out to be a superb artist without the help of a brush. Who knew? (Ages 2 to 6)--Kimberly Heinrichs』

Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (Baby crack...) 『I sing the songs too! Urgh! And I don't see the appeal of this video but my 14 month old has LOVED this since she's been 7 months old. She prefers this particular DVD over any DVD or program on TV. I've got another one of the Baby Song series and I'm in the process of buying another.』
(He likes it... a lot!) 『I absolutely hate this DVD!!!! I hate it because my kid loves it and we watch it constantly... I hate it because some of the songs are catchy and I find myself humming them at work... and I hate it because my wife and I find each other singing along with the DVD. But seriously... there are some good lessons on this one and we have noticed that our son is picking up his shapes. One of the better DVDs from the series.』
(Adults may hate it, but kids will LOVE it) 『My two year old daughter saw this at a friend's house and adored it so much we bought it for her. Adults will cringe at the 80's/90's style clothing and hair, and the lame but catchy tunes and lyrics. Kids, however, cannot get enough of it. It is my daughter's #1 favorite DVD, and it has helped her with letters, shapes, etc. As much as I loathe it, it does what it's supposed it-- keeps our daughter very happy, and gives her some educational benefits to boot.』
(Great For Kids) 『There is no series like Baby Songs that my children like more. It's great for infants to toddlers and is great at teaching.』
(Excellent activity for parents to do with their children) 『I first checked this out from the library when my son was 24 months old. He loved most of the songs, though some were too fast for him to appreciate at that age.
I checked it out for a second time when he was 36 months old and he caught on to those faster songs just fine, but some of the slower sons were boring to him.
At that time, I also had a 12 month old who couldn't have cared less about the songs or images, but he was happy because his big brother was obviously having a good time!
This is not something you can sit your baby in front of and walk away. You have to interact and provide some tools (spoons, bananas, bean bags, etc) for the kids to get involved with the songs. We'll probably end up buying this one, even though we can get it for free at the library.』 『Hap Palmer's happy songs once again entertain and enlighten children, teaching them how to recognize letters, colors, shapes and number concepts in the process.』 『Don't be concerned that this video doesn't have familiar characters on the cover (no purple dinos, no brightly colored space alien babies). This proven series of colorful musical videos is a winner, and the latest,Baby Songs ABC, 123is no exception. Designed for toddlers to 2- to 6-year-olds, this video combines color and movement--and, importantly, other children--to help young viewers remember their numbers and the alphabet. Children's music writer Hap Palmer has provided songs that are genuinely catchy and, like the classic "ABC" song, which helped nearly every English-speaking child learn the alphabet, kids are learning as they're singing. Palmer specializes in purposeful but engaging rhyme and alliteration to encourage kids to sing along, sing on their own, and prepare for reading skills.
Mostly nonprecocious children highlight each segment, often dressed alike in brightly colored garb. Featured songs include "Alphabet in Motion," "Tap Your Sticks," "Shapes That Surround You," "Colors in Motion," "We Are All Alike," "Bean Bag Alphabet Rag" (which also helps kids identify body parts), "Jig Along Shapes," and "Numbers Can Tell About You."--N.F. Mendoza』
IPhone 3G used's review (Barbra shines with all the colours of the rainbow!) 『Recorded to accompany her TV special of the same name, COLOR ME BARBRA captures Barbra Streisand at the peak of her early musical career. Having been catapulted to fame following sold-out nightclub engagements plus the Broadway and London productions of FUNNY GIRL, Barbra pours all her skills and musical tastes into this impressive record.
Things get off to a cracking start with "Yesterdays" (originally from the musical ROBERTA), a manic opening number with medieval harpsichord prominently scored. More magic is right around the corner with "One Kiss", "The Minute Waltz" and "Gotta Move" (a number she previously covered on her second album, but in a different arrangement). "Non C'est Rien" is a gorgeous romantic ballad that's guaranteed to make you hit the 'repeat' button on your CD player.
"Where or When", a delicious romantic song from Rodgers and Hart's BABES IN ARMS, glows like a rare jewel with Streisand's delicate interpretation. The clever medley incorporating "Animal Crackers in My Soup", "Funny Face", "That Face!", "They Didn't Believe Me", "Were Thine That Special Face?", "I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face", "Let's Face the Music and Dance", "Sam, You Made the Pants too Long", "What's New, Pussycat?", "Small World", "I Love You", "I Stayed too Long at the Fair" and "Look at That Face" (phew!) is delivered with lots of showmanship.
Those only familiar with Eartha Kitt's classic recording of "C'est Si Bon" will find a refreshing change within Barbra's sparse cover of it. "Where Am I Going?", the dramatic eleven o'clock ballad from SWEET CHARITY and a clarifying, inspirational "Starting Here, Starting Now" bring the album to a satisfying close.
Even if you haven't seen the COLOR ME BARBRA television special you'll certainly appreciate everything that Barbra climbs and conquers on this album, which displays her versatility as a singer and all-round entertainer. An essential title for Barbra fans. [COLUMBIA-CK9278]』
(It's so good!) 『Released as a soundtrack of sorts to her second t.v. special of the same name, Color Me Barbra is a fabulous group of songs which, unlike some of the songs on My Name is Barbra, all stand on their own, making this album great whether or not you've seen the special, and whether or not you liked it.
01. Yesterdays- A fun fast-paced song to begin the album. Not very memorable, though. B-
02. One Kiss- One of my favorite tracks on the album, this song has a beautiful piano and strings complementing her equally beautiful voice, and shows Barbra at her classy best. A
03. The Minute Waltz- A cute little song, in which Barbra attempts to sing a song in one minute. Sadly, she fails, but it's fun to listen to her try. B+
04. Gotta Move- An interesting reworking of Barbra's song from her second album. This time, it's more about the horns than the drums here, and it's pretty good. B+
05. Non C'est Rien- A lovely song in French, which was ironically sung in English on Barbra's later French album. You can truly be moved by this song, whether you understand French or not. A-
06. Where Or When- One of the few uninteresting songs on this album. As always, it is sung well, but doesn't really move you in any way. C
07. Face Medley- This is a really fun medley. At over eight minutes, it doesn't feel long enough, with some fabulously incorporated songs. A
08. C'est Si Bon (It's So Good)- Admittedly, I prefer the feistier Eartha Kitt version better, but Barbra's slower, more romantic version here is still a good version in its own right. Great for those in a loving mood. A
09. Where Am I Going?- This song doesn't seem to belong on here. It sounds like it's meant for one of her later 70s soft-rock recordings. That being said, it's a good (though not very catchy) show-stopping number B-
10. Starting Here, Starting Now- A perfect song, and anyone who saw her on her last tour can tell you it's even better live. Her voice is silky smooth, and hits all the right emotions perfectly. A
Every Barbra Streisand fan will want this, and even some non-fans may find enjoyment in this release. There is very little to dislike.』
(Color Me Barbra) 『One of my favourite Streisand albums. Great ballads and a fantastic medley full of well known songs. A great album for new fans to discover Barbra.』
(Great 60s title of Streisand!!) 『Color Me Barbra (1966) is one of Barbra's finest albums from the 60s. The song selections are fabulous and sound wonderful. I love the front cover crayon drawing image of her face; it goes so well on a pink background, the title of the album is also in different colors as well. I own this title on LP, tape, and CD. On the LP release, the song titles and such were in white print on the front cover, which made it hard for people to see what songs were on it. For those of you who probably still have this title on LP, you will still have to put the cover up in your face to read the white print (I assume that the 60s copies had light pink for the cover, and the reissue pressings from the 70s had a slightly darker pink on the front cover. With darker pink, the white print won't be difficult to read. I have an original copy from the 60s with the light pink front cover). White print on a light pink background is almost difficult to read; it's a nice color scheme, but almost invisible to see. I love the songs on this title. The opening track, Yesterdays is great to listen to, with its catchy orchestration. One Kiss is fine and quiet. Minute Waltz is fine, with Barbra sounding like she's trying to get this song sung in exactly one minute or less. Gotta Move is great, with its "hurry up" sound. Non C'est Rien, which I assume is a French counterpart of her Free Again song from her French titled "Je m'appelle Barbra" album, is great. Orchestration is the exact same as what is heard on Free Again. The track 7 medley, is great to hear, and is the longest song on this album. C'est Si Bon (It's So Good), is another great one with Barbra singing in French. Where Am I Going? is a great one, as well. The closing track, Starting Here, Starting Now (the closing track) has a nice sound to it. Barbra really does a magnificent job of holding out that last note at the end of this song. She really does a good job of that. No Barbra Streisand music library would be complete without this "colorful" title!! Get it while you can!!』
(Barbra Streisand: Color Me Barbra (1966)) 『In March of 1966, Barbra Streisand had released her seventh album entitled, COLOR ME BARBRA.
