(Could be better... but nice work)
『I believe that this is the first Kasparov's DVD, is far beyon from najdorf DVD.

In this DVD has a Earn Value, DAtabase, Cristal Frizt and more, Kasparov was very Historical with the lines, I expected Kasparov lab's, well old lines played in the 90's or 80's... Maybe i prayed for much, but is what the says the box, and the profile product.

I am a fan, of Kasparov games and style, i see the DVD, just for see Kasparov, and enjoy the video, Kasparov speaks well, nice explication but honestly i expect for more.

I give 3 start because one is for the historical approach of Kasparov speak, and the another for a false profile of the product, gives the idea that Kasparov's LAB are given in the DVD, because of that i was mad with the product. I try to be honest i love the DVD, just for Kasparov.

Beginer who love Kasparov games, they will love this product, enjoy it.

I try to be honest.

(Slow)
『I bought this game with the intenion of learning some new chess attack techniques but found the tactics too common--not in the specific set of moves, but in how Kasparov executes the moves on the software.

Overall, 2 stars.』

(What it is and What it ain't)
『It is:
1) A highly informative survey of many classical QGD lines and historic games.
2) A very short overview of non-QGD openings.
3) Garry talking casually and 80 mph about the above.
4) A big database.
5) Crystal clear on Fritz.
6) For those who are interested in chess history&getting "the big picture" on an important opening.
7) Nice to hear how to pronounce all those foreign names.
8) Loosely structured around main variations and famous games.

It isn't:
1) For players looking for a repertoire.
2) For beginners (which it might appear to be by the advertising)
3) "Instructional" in the common meaning of the term.
4) Clear enough for me on the DVD player.

I really enjoyed the product because I didn't have any real expectations as to exactly what it would be like. I recommend getting Matthew Sadler's book on the Queen's Gambit Declined as well and then sitting down for some serious study! Garry doesn't really talk over your head, he simply covers a lot of ground in 3 hours and this can be overwhelming if you try to take in too much of it at one time.』

(Not bad for a Grandmaster......)
『As one of Mr. Kasparov's first such ventures, this was one heck of a product. It's best used in a computer v.s a DVD player. I agree with a previous review that the language is a bit tough, but I could appreciate the natural conversation. The games are excellent, but I wished that he had gone into more detail about the decision for some moves. Overall, it's a worth the purchase. I actually obtained this version from the manufacturer, before it was available on Amazon, so the Amazon price is much better. I just wish that Amazon would come thru with #2, that's been on order since January!』

(Good, but a bit disorganized.)
『I enjoyed watching Kasparov discuss the Queen's Gambit with such brilliance, and I agree with other reviewers who say that he comes across as down-to-earh. There is no question about his passion for the game, and any chess player will enjoy the commentary of this legendary grandmaster. I give it four stars because a better production was actually possible. In fact, with a bit of focus and organization, this DVD could have been a valuable instructional tool. The problem is that Kasparov goes on many tangents, and while this is occasionally unavoidable when discussing variations, it can become tedious. It's not a matter of his English, either--he expresses himself well. Overall, I couldn't help but get the impression that this was filmed haphazardly--that is, he probably just sat down and began discussing the opening any which way. What was needed was the careful selection of themes within the framework of the lecture; the DVD could have been divided into crucial minilessons that retained focus instead of random observations with loose-fitting titles. If the aim was to teach, then the approach needs modification. I'm a decent player with club and some tournament experience. I followed him as best as I could, but I can see a beginner being easily overwhelmed and quickly losing interest. As a fan, it's a pleasure to watch him discuss the game; as a life-long student of chess, I expect more.』
『Garry Kasparov Teaches Chess, Vol. 1 is an all-new interactive way to learn the strategies of chess, witha little help from the greatest living chess master, Garry Kasparov! For the first time, Kasparov teaches the ideas behind the Queen's Gambit, one of the most important openings in chess.』

(Not for the thinking gamer)
『First, do not confuse this game with Tactics Ogre. They are both made by the same company, both have 'Ogre' in the title, and both cost about the same on Amazon. Tactics Ogre is one you want to buy, not this garbage.

The gameplay goes like this... you control multiple units on a world map. You can attack enemy units, occupy towns, or head straight for the scenario goal. If you always head straight for the mission goal, you will beat the game in less than 10 hours. I know, because that's what I did, and after that I never touched the game again. Honestly, playing this game felt like a chore, sort of like watching my laundry in the washing machine.

Game combat is simplistic. When one of your units encounters an enemy unit, it brings up a combat screen, sort of like early Final Fantasy (the first three). However, that is a tease, since all you do is watch. You don't enter battle commands. Sound fun? Maybe if you prefer watching games to playing them. The only tactical thing about this game is choosing the right time to fight, since you don't participate in the fights at all. Story wise, it wasn't special, so don't buy it for the plot either. The multiple endings thing is all a big riff on a single ending, depending on which characters are in your party at the end.

Basically, this is an extremely simple rpg game I'd recommend to beginners (as in children 7-12 years old), but nothing an adult would enjoy.』

(Nifty)
『An interesting game, but a better weekend rent than a purchase. It gets way too predictable once you get to be a decent player.』

(One of the best Strategy RPG's ever)
『This game is responsible for me losing more sleep than almost any other. This game really isn't for everyone though. It's more of a passive RPG, you don't personally go out and do the fighting (you can, it's just not a good idea), you send out constructed units of troops to do the fighting with the enemy units. Terrain, weight, time of day and equipment all play a part in moving and battles. While you can not directly influence the course of the individual battles, you can decide which troops go to either the front or back rows (different attacks depending on the row), and decide what the unit will aim for (attack the strongest, weakest, leader or best). You can support them with Tarot cards (single use magic spells) that you pick up by liberating cities. All in all, one of the most innovative and all around fun games I've ever played, and it got improved for the Playstation. Worth practically whatever you have to pay for it.』

(What the heck?...)
『I bought this game thinking it would be great beyond preportions, but it actually is quite the opposite and is very old. Before writing this review ,I'm going to tell you that I didn't want to believe some of the reviews that hindered this game's reputation. So I still bought the game thinking that it was going to be great(costly mistake.)

For one, you don't fight in this game. It's like any rpg game, but it is simulated. Just think about going through a huge game that the battle's are simulated for you. The graphics are the lowest imaginable. You push your characters into battle like chess, and you have a random chance of doing well. The only thing you control are Tarot cards, which have various affects on the enemy and yourself. The strategy is very simple and not really worth calling strategy. If you want to buy an Ogre game, buy Ogre Tactics. It is a very excellent game, and is worth the huge time span. This game isn't worth the time, you'll never care to finish the first "levels" once youv'e started playing it. Yes, all it is "levels." You have to play levels in sequence and you don't have control where you go. I hope that you listen to this review, and not to any silly person that may think it is good. Personally, I can only believe a person would put a good review for this game if they were payed to do so.』

(Awesome)
『This game is the remake of the old snes classic. It is so much better than the old snes version. In this remake, the graphics were improved and new characters were added. This game will give you hours of entertainment.』

(This is the Queen of Desktop Flight Simulation)
『Precision Manuals Development Group (PMDG) is widely recognized as one of the best developers (if not THE best) for add-on products for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Their latest product is the Boeing 747-400 Queen of The Skies.

Very detailed modeling of airplane visuals and systems makes the PMDG 747-400 a rewarding experience. And this product is not a big frame rate hog- thanks to many optimizations done. It is a serious add-on though, and unless you know a lot about flying jets (not the default ones, REAL ones), you should expect to spend between 4 to 16 hours studying this plane before flying it. If you are into jet airplanes, I could not recommend a better add on for flight simulator than this one.』

『With PMDG 747-400: Queen of the Skies Add-On, you have one of the airline enthusiast's favorite Flight Simulator aircraft. From the photo-real cockpit to systems programmed after engineering schematics, no effort has been spared -- it provides all the sophistication, technical details and challenge of commercial airline flying. (Incredible RPG foundation games)
『Im a 32 year old CRPG gamer. I've played em all, and MMORPG's too, everything from World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings Online, All the Infinity Engine (Baldurs Gate/Icewind series), Temple of Elem Evil, to NWN 1 and 2.

These games were the foundation for everything that came after them, and they're still incredibly fun to play. One of the only RPGs to use the original 1st edition rules set from Dungeons and Dragons.

But I think you can get all of these for like 4 bucks off of a shareware site, just search for it in your search engine. I believe I got them for 4 dollars for unlimited shareware downloads.

You can also get the toolset for the Goldbox games, and create your own adventures using the original engine. Thats pretty neat!

(I love it!)
『Firstly, I admit it, I am an RPG "geek" this love affair goes back to the first US release of Final Fantasy in my case. The Wii game interface takes it to a whole new level! I can't WAIT for "Square" to do some more stuff for this console! Grace and Peace!』

(innovative controls for hack and slash)
『This is a game which actually tries to do something new and innovative and succeeds resulting in a new roleplay experience and excellent replay potential if one is interested in getting better scores and/or equipment.』

(Solid. Not *****, but solid.)
『I enjoyed the Dragon series back in its heyday (Dragon Warrior 1 and 2- to me 3 and 4 got a little too crazy)

I have no time whatsoever logged on the games between DWIV and this release for the Wii.

I will say that this is almost a 3-D version of the original dragon warrior, with a few alterations- namely not being able to free roam, and only having the one town (and castle) (at least thus far..)

This game is a lot of fun, and some of the old school monsters come back- slimes, drakees etc..and some new ones (at least to me) - and being able to swing the "sword" and raise the "shield" is a cool feature to have.
I have noticed a lack in monster variety- maybe only 15-20 or so (and im in what i think is the last (or next to last) level)

Anyways, it will not have anywhere near the playability of DW of the past, but for what it is, i paid $15 for a used copy. well worth the money. once ya beat it, it probably collects dust, but its kind of a new-age blast from the past..

(Excellent RPG, sloppy controls)
『Being absolutley thrilled that I felt like I finally bought the Wii for something other than my kids playing wii sports, I ran to the local game crazy the day Dragon Quest Swords came out. I was not disapointed. I am a die hard RPG fan of the old school persuasion (FF VI and DQVII are my favs)and found this game very entertaining. All of the usual DQ themes and characters are there and the european dialects are abundant as well. The story is good and the graphics are very clean. There are plenty of equipment options and a few mini games and of course there are secret dungeons. Now the cons : The sword is really irritating even after you get used to it. It slashes diagonally when you slash side to side etc.It is a short game, but no shorter than Final Fantasy III for the DS.You can only use one other character other than yorself at a time but you get used to that after a little bit and it is actually ok. I guess I'd give this a 4 1/2 stars but the controller issue is so frustrating that I have to give it a 4. Overall this is a fun game and if you are a fan of the series it is a must have. I hope that square will keep trying this !』

(It was worth it.)
『PROS: Great game overall. Unique game play and easy to play.

CONS: Too short. Just like any other Square-Enix game, some grinding will be required in order to acquire more powerful items.』

『Five years have passed since the defeat of the Deathbringer, and the kingdom of Avalonia joyously celebrates what seems to be an everlasting era of peace. However, a closer look reveals that things are amiss. Calamity arises within the kingdom, as unfamiliar and powerful monsters invade the outskirts of the town. With the Deathbringer gone, what explanation is there for the onset of these monsters? And what of the queen, who has come to hide her face behind a strange mask? Make your way through the perilous journey, solve the baffling mysteries and return order to Avalonia.』
