My daughter loves this game and enjoys playing all the little mini games in the activity mode. For me, I find I AM THE ONE stealing moments to play this game, but mostly in the mission/adventure mode. It is very addictive, challenging (but not so challenging that my five year old couldn't do) and the graphics and sound are excellent. There are many lands to explore, (cloud city, marketplace, crystal caverns, magic forest, dragon playground&atlantis), lots of mazes, hidden areas and fun little activities that never bore. Trying to train the little pegasus is a lot of fun. If I was my daughter's age, this is the game I would have chosen as my first game boy color game, but I am partial to Arabian themes anyway. The only annoyance is saving the game, it requires a lengthy coded password. Worth every penny.』

From time to time, Barbie even will get to play games, which are hopelessly simplistic, but add variety nonetheless.
The controls in this one are about as easy as it gets. The directional pad moves Barbie, while pressing the "A" button allows Barbie to talk to other characters. No other actions are needed from her, because a flying Barbie has no need to jump and no need for a weapon. We appreciate the nonviolent game, but a few more Barbie skills would have been nice.
The graphics are colorful and animate smoothly, and the levels were large enough to confound even us big players, at times. And, while this doesn't make for a great title by any means, it's enough to please ardent Barbie fans.--Robb Guido

IPhone 3G used's review (Metal Gear Solid on GBC) 『This and Resident Evil Gaiden are most likely my favorite games in my GBC collection(and its a big one). I would like to inform you that if you don't buy this game right now you are missing out on one of the best game experiances you will ever have. So here you go, my review on Mtal Gear Solid.
Story: The game puts you in the boots of action hero and well known sabatour, Solid Snake. Snake is sent to Galuade, which is actually Outer Heaven. While there, Snake is instructed to work with Delta Force to rescue reseachers who were working on none other than Metal Gear. Of course, if Metal Gear is there it must be destroyed. All of the plans go wrong when a group of mercenaries called Balck Chamber wipe out Delta Force, and all but one of the reseachers is killed. Snake is now in a fight for survival to face his past and destroy a nuclear weapons that could end the world as we know it.
Graphics: They are like Metal Gear On the Playstation shrunk to fit the screen, in other words the game looks absoloutly amazing.
Sound: The music is a gentle harmony at times and intense mix of rock and classic compositions. Great sound is the signature of any MGS game, and this is no different.
Gameplay: its intense and very smooth in the way that you can go from a shadow to a one man army with no choppy movement whatsoever. The game almost grabs you by the neck and forces you to play. The boss fights are present and in full motion as well.
my conclusion is that this is a wonderful game and should be experiance by all. Oh and as a warning, this game has a lot of language that is not appropriate for kids. Other wise, go get this right now.』
(Metal Gear Solid, a teen's review) 『I love metal gear solid games. I enjoyed this one particularly.I noticed a lack of weapons and it was hard to find most of the guns. The AI of the enemy soldiers was hilarious because they were almost blind and should be in wheelchairs because of thier phisical stregnth. This game was mild compared to the PS and GCN series: No sexual themes, blood, gore, or language. I did notice this game was intensly violent for a game boy color game. The graphics were top notch so were the animations. No voiceovers, but what can you expect from a GBC game. I also noticed the colonel asking for some scotch on the game begining cinematic.This game is suitable for ages 13 and up, not six. I loved this game it was very fun.』

(Astounding, I can't believe my eyes) 『With the blockbuster success of Metal Gear Solid for the PS1, Konami decided to make the game portable for Nintendo's 8-bit GameBoy Color, and while many specualtions over the quality of the game were not very good at all, every GBC owner on the planet was shocked when this was released. For being an 8-bit system, the graphics and sound are simply astounding, and the controls are exact and dead on. Stealth is still the name of the game and you'll have to dodge guards and security cameras to complete your mission, plus VR missions and cut scenes are here as well, making this game play so unbelieveably close to it's PS1 counterpart that many a gamer will be left in awe when they see it in action. The storyline is a prequel to the PS1 game that would set up the events that take place in that game, and while it may start out as a run of the mill story, it quickly picks up and by the time you finish the game you'll be catching your breathe. All in all, Metal Gear Solid is essential to action fans and GBC owners everywhere.』
(A Classic for GBC) 『I must say this beforehand: this is a game that takes place BEFORE the Shadow Moses Incident (The conflict in the PSX version of MGS). That said, this is a different storyline than on that console.
In the game, you play as super-agent Solid Snake, who is kidnapped out of retirement to infiltrate a terrorist base in the (fictional) country of Gindra. The terrorists have a huge weapon called Metal Gear that has nuclear capability (Imagine a very fat person with guns for arms, make him a robot, then stretch him out so that he's 80 feet tall, and you've got an idea of what Metal Gear looks like). Snake's mission: to destroyMetal Gear and to rescue any hostages. The story after that is very engaging and interesting, especially when everything hits the fan at the end.
Unlike other action games, which play like a Schwartzenager movie, MGS forces you to keep yourself hidden from the enemy, and also to keep quiet so that the scumbags can't hear you. The level design keeps players on their toes and on the brink of insanity from the suspense of hiding from an aproaching guard, especially on the Hard and Very Hard difficulty levels.
For Game Boy Color, the graphics are superb, but the sound might grind on ears used to the advanced stuff on the GBA. Even so, the last few themes are catchy. The gameplay practically grabs you by the collar and demands that you play. It's that addictive. The fact that there's an unlockable "special" Stage Select mode that allows you to revisit previous stages with a mission other than reaching the goal makes you want to search for other goodies.
As usual, the guards are entertainingly near-sighted (But don't get close to them if they're facing you!) and stupid(Knock 'em out, and they just take a quick look around before going back to their patrol routes), and the bosses are fun to fight. The Metal Gear is a truly hard final boss, though there is an "extra" battle atthe end that is intense, if not hard.
Speaking of intensity: the second boss, Marionette Owl, describes his sister's death in morbid detail, and also uses the dead bodies of two women as puppets. Other just as disturbing cases happen with the bosses, so a parent might not want his/her child playing this unless he/she is twelve or older. Even so, it's a great game--a must-buy for action gamers everywhere.

The bad guys (and security cameras) have a limited cone of vision, and savvy players will stay out of the detection zone so they can save their strength for the real challenges that wait near the end of each level. Controls are simple but effective. You can lay prone (a good way to disappear into mud or tall grass), press up against walls, and easily access an inventory screen to equip and use items. You'll find a plethora of weapons along the way, perfect for those moments when stealth alone just isn't going to cut it.
The graphics are great, but it's the spot-on accurate control that makes this game truly shine. Players are free to practice in nearly 200 fun VR missions or can simply jump into the real thing: a 13-level campaign, complete with cut scenes. Konami packed an amazing amount of excitement into this little cartridge, making it a title no Game Boy Color owner will want to miss.--T. Byrl Baker

IPhone 3G used's review (very helpful - now you can play gameboy all the time...) 『the good news is that you can play gameboy all the time. this little gadget plugs neatly into a side socket and provides a nice light to make the screen usable. there is definitely a reflection that is a bit annoying, but careful positioning of the light source seems to help. it pops out easily and is quite portable, so you don't mind carrying it around. and, from what i can see, it doesn't seem to drain batteries noticeably faster. although you will play more and longer, so expect to be using up more of those puppies...
the bad news is that you can (and in my case - will) play more often. plus, it's easy to hold on to, so the kids can sneak into easily under the covers when they're supposed to be going to sleep. however, in the grand scheme of things, these are the prices we pay for an ever-evolving society.
for the price, it's a handy addition. if you haven't already, go ahead and splurge.』
