For those who have never played Rampart it goes a little like this: Build city walls around castles to stay alive and gain more points. Then place cannons. Then prepare for a frenzied round of battle! After the round, you do it all over again! I'm not sure when or how you win, but you just do. Even though it sounds simple, it's quite entertaining. I cannot play for more than a half hour or so at a time because it just gets too difficult. When it says GAME OVER, you just feel like you need a break. That, however, doesn't stop me from playing again later. Overall, the simple tetris like strategy for adults and blow em up to bits action for the kids make this a game everyone can enjoy.』

After a timed period of battle where you are trying to sink ships while they are trying to knock down your castle walls, you get a chance to rebuild, but you have to do it fast. The object of the game is to take over castles by encasing them with circular walls. You will also need to defend your possessions by firing cannons at invaders. Each combat phase is followed by a rebuilding phase. As you catch more castles, you are able to accumulate more cannons to help you better fend off the ever-increasing foes. It's a fun game in theory, but the execution of the graphics in the Game Boy Color version detracts from the playability. Everything is tiny, ill defined, and lacking in detail.
The graphics aren't the only downside to this conversion--controls also suffer. The arcade version had a great roller-ball controller that allowed for the perfect combination of speed and precision. The Game Boy Color's small gamepad just can't compete, and the pint-sized targets compound the problem. With such poor controls, it takes an inordinate amount of practice and patience to master this game, and many gamers may give up in frustration beforeRampartbecomes fun. (Profound and emotionally powerful) 『First and foremost, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is incredibly believable in Gridioron Gang. The role is not a big stretch for Johnson considering his history as a child with a distant father (Johnson's father was often away wrestling professionally), and as a former football player. It should come as no surprise that he completely nails the part, playing the role of Sean Porter perfectly; so much so, in fact, that the actual documentary footage of the real Porter was a near mirror image of Johnson's portrayal of Porter in the movie.
Sean Porter (Johnson) is a former football player turned counselor at a juvenile detention center. The job is daunting enough, especially considering that nearly 75% of those leaving the facility end up as repeat offenders at one time or another after their release. Porter sought to encourage the young men, show them that they have inner-strength, worth, and that they were actually winners in the game of life, not the losers that ended up in the facility.
The movie is full of cliches, and it's about as predictable as a sunrise. It's the typical underdogs-achieve-excellence-through-adversity-and-teamwork story. It's formulaic, and just like countless other sports movies. The difference, however, is that this movie has incredible heart. Johnson exudes powerful yet gentle emotion as the fatherly, caring, football coach who uses tough-love and the bonding of football to bring about both football and character results.
There are a handful of genuinely touching scenes, and I'll admit that it got a bit dusty while watching. My allergies were really acting up during the scene that the players buy flowers for Porter's ailing mother.
Gridiron Gang is well worth the watch. All the missions are there, and there is a lot of stuff to do. However, not all is goog in the world of green. First off, the aiming controls are not near as good as I would have expected. Second, the camera is placed at an odd position. But the overall thing that kept me from really enjoying this is the difficulty. Now matter how you look at it, the levels are quite difficult. This is not a good thing considering it is aimed at a younger audience. However, there are plpenty gamers out there who enjoy a good challenge, and if that is you, then go buy this product immediately. Others should either rent or find some cheat codes before buying.』
