In the 90's we had a lot of great action cartoons. In fact, from the age of 6 I wanted to be a cartoonist. Cartoons are my life, and I'll always be an oversized child for it.
I remember waking up around 5:30AM so I could get ready in time to watch Reboot before going to school in the morning, or coming home and watching the Fox Kids lineup. I remember Saturday mornings full of decent quality choices in cartoons all the way from 6:00AM to noon. Heck, between Bill Nye and Beakman, we even had great science shows. And that was just the network channels!... But then that all went away...
I never stopped watching cartoons, it's just that I stopped watching action cartoons. Once Samurai Jack left me, nothing had my interest anymore. When Ben 10 originally premiered, I was positive it was another doofy kids action show that would be cancelled in a year. In fact, I only bought the first season because it was on sale for $5.00. I would have never given it a chance otherwise, but I'm glad I took that chance.
Ben 10 is more than just a good cartoon, it's a cartoon that reminds me of everything I loved in the cartoons I grew up on. This is the type of show I would have woken up early for. If you want good solid action and humor with aliens and explosions, you will find it here.
The dialogue is pretty well written, with great pacing and a great sense of humor. Some of the things Ben says when he first turns into Ghostfreak are just funny ("ninja old people!"). Something you will notice right off is that each show is its own adventure, but there is always a main plot stirring in the background. This is good because it means the season finale's get to actually mean something.
The most important thing this cartoon did for me is made me question what else I had missed. I ended up picking up Avatar, have been watching the Secret Saturdays and Clone Wars, and I've even gone ahead and started watching Ben 10: Alien Force.
Saturday morning is on its way back. Now the networks just need to get on board.

(All the Heroics, None of the Darkness) 『My 5 year old is really into superheroes, but shows like The Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, and Spiderman are made for an older crowd; they're a little too dark for my young 'un.
Enter Ben 10. Good family values with Grandpa and older cousin keeping the impulsive Ben on track. One reviewer said this was the new Transformers and the new Voltron, and I agree, but Ben 10 is much higher quality. Plenty of comedy, plenty of heroics, and an all around good watch.』
(Great price, easy deal!) 『This is hard to find in stores, and the price I got at Amazon was cheaper then it was going to on Ebay. You get 2 DVD's with a ton of episodes. You'll be singing the Ben 10 them song with your kids before you know it! Very cool and the boys love it.』
(Ben 10- The Complete Season 1.........) 『It wasn't until the new show, Ben 10 Alien Force, debuted that I ever took an interest in Ben 10 at all. My nephews, 12&14 years of age, had told me about it before but I let it slide past me somehow. Basically what Ben 10 is about is Ben Tennyson, his cousin Gwen, and Grampa Max. Ben finds a bracelet called the Omnitrix. This bracelet allows him to assume the form of ten different aliens, each with different powers to use in any given situation. Sometimes; he changes into what he wants, while others times not. Then, after doing so, there's a time limit as to how long he can remain that way. Afterwards, the bracelets' power is drained for an unspecified amount of time before it can be used again. This puts Ben in a pickle, at times. In these first thirteen episodes, Ben&Company go up against the likes of Vilgax Dr. Animo, Kevin 11, and more. Vilgax is especially a pain in this first season as he wants the Omnitrix to conquer the galaxy. Being a comic book fan, the show itself reminds me of a DC comic called Dial H for Hero, in which one of the heroes dialed H-E-R-O on their watch to change them into a superhero. The series itself was created by Man of Action(a group consisting of Duncan Rouleau, Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, and Steven T. Seagle) and is voiced by Tara Strong(Teen Titans, The Batman), Dee Bradley Baker, Jim Ward, Meagan Smith, Paul Eiding, Richard McGonagle, Richard Steven Horvitz, Steven Jay Blum and Fred Tatasciore.
I honestly never thought I'd like this show but it's great. I'll admit, it might not have the same production values as, say, The Batman, Teen Titans or Justice League but it is just as entertaining and good.
If you're a big animation fan, check out Ben 10-The Complete Season One. You'll really like this show. I know I do.』
(Ben Ten entertains) 『My wife and I found ourselves interested in the stories and my 4 year old loves them. The monsters are "cool" but friendly and the stories are like x-files for kids.』 『Ben Tennyson was just an average 10-year-old kid until he discovered a strange alien watch in a crashed meteorite. Called the Omnitrix, this watch gives Ben the ability to transform into any of 10 alien heroes, all the while keeping his 10-year-old personality.

』 『Average kid Ben Tennyson becomes a host of alien-fighting superheroes with the help of an extraterrestrial device inBen 10, an engaging and kid-friendly animated series that arrives on DVD with a smattering of extras for series devotees.Ben 10's basic premise resembles the 1960s and 1980s DC Comic titleDial H for Hero, with affable teen Ben discovering an alien device called the Omnitrix after it crashes on Earth. The Omnitrix gives Ben the power to transform into ten different and powerful alien heroes, each with their own specific super powers. Ben's discovery of the device attracts the attention of evil space warrior Vilgax, who wants it for his own universe-conquering purposes. Episodes are divided between Ben tangling with Vilgax and his crew of monstrous henchmen, and Ben's struggles to fight crime with the Omnitrix, which occasionally malfunctions and summons the wrong hero at the wrong time. Episode highlights include "Washington B.C.," in which scientist Dr. Amino mutates animals (including dinosaurs) into powerful monsters; "Hunted," with Ben battling a trio of interstellar bounty hunters sent by Vilgax; and "Kevin 11," about a maladjusted kid whose powers of energy absorption threaten to steal away the powers of the Omnitrix.
All 13 episodes of the 2005-2006 debut season ofBen 10are included on this double-disc set; fans also get a lesson on how to draw Ben from artist Scooter Tidwell, and there's a commentary track on "Secrets" from creators/Man of Action members Duncan Rouleau, Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, and writers Tramm Wigzell and Thomas Pugsley. Several of the commentary participants also contribute to a brief sneak preview of an upcoming season.-- Paul Gaita』
IPhone 3G used's review (Neo-geo pocket) 『I love the neo-geo pocket. It's very fun.As soon as it came to me I opened it.I LOVE THE NEO-GEO POCKET.BY THE WAY IT IS WAY BETTER THAN A GAMEBOY』
(Excellent system, but no longer supported) 『The Neo Geo Pocket it one of those odd little gaming systems, like the Atari Lynx that had the power within it to go the distance and really break Nintendo's stranglehold on the handheld market... but it tanked.
This was not due to the system, or even it's less than impressive array of games (most of which were produced by SNK, which does good work, but no one company can cover all the angles needed) but to the financial problems of SNK. When the company couldn't afford to keep the SNK of America open, the Neo Geo Pocket went the way of the dinosaur in the states.
And when SNK itself folded a few years later, the system was pretty well doomed.
So don't expect any new games for this one. She's run her course, and it's a doozy, but it is done.
Now, here's the good news. The Neo Geo Pocket Color has a surprisingly long life span, both battery life and sheer beatings. It's screan isn't backlit, but quite forgiving about lighting conditions and is nice n' big, allowing for surprising detail. It's CPU works well enough to keep slowdown from ever becoming an issue. And the system itself has a battery backup built in for system options (basically how NGP games look on the NGPC and what language you'd like your games in) and a calandar/alarm/horoscope thing when you turn it on without a game (like on a PS or X-Box)
Oh, and it's got *excellent* games.
SNK vs Capcom alone was enough to sell many people on the system, and while she is definately the cream of the crop, MoM is in good company. Metal Slug 1st Mission is just flat out impressive for sheer depth, Falseti feels like an incredibly focused Front Mission, and even the King of Fighters stay remarkably true to their Arcade origins.
If you're a collector, this is videogame history. If you're someone interested in just good gameplay, this is a solid choice. If you're looking to play the latest game, this is not for you.
Interesting note for those of you concerned about buying imports; the NGP has a setting in the handheld itself which toggles all the information between Japanese and English. So, yes; you can play import games on your system with no harsh affects. Likewise, the NGPC is backwards compatable, playing games from the Neo Geo Pocket with no problem what-so-ever.』
(greatest handheld ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!) 『I got this system during Y2K and I still love it. It is the perfect video game system for those who don't want to spend money on a gameboy advance SP or DS. Its graphics are great and it has many great games unlike the gameboy which has more mediocre games than good ones. Plus the case colors are great. I would recommend this system for being excellent.』
(Better Than GBC) 『I just was given to keep(and fix)from my cousin.I mastered Sonic after playing it on the SEGA Genesis.Samurai Showdown and King of Fighters. It's 10 times a Gameboy/GBC even htough it dont gots pokemon. But it aint no GBA』
IPhone 3G used's review (Slippery) 『I ordered two of this kind in particular because they were the least expensive. Well, the reason I ordered them at all was because I didn't want the controllers slipping out of hands in the midst of the excitement of playing active games. The products looked nice, but were far more slippery than with no cover at all. I ordered them "used" from a private seller, yet brand new. I paid more in shipping than the product itself, so it's not worth returning. Yet, it's so slippery, that I will not even be putting them on controllers. They would work better inside out, yet look "dirty" that way. But still more slippery than no cover at all. I'm pretty sure that if I took them on and off a few times, they would tear. They don't retain their shape around the openings very well either. If I had it to do again, I would not order silicone. In fact, if I tried to purchase again, I'd buy in a store where I could see them real well first to be sure of getting a decent texture.』

(Good buy) 『I am very pleased with this purchase of the wii remote and nunchuck silicone covers. The fit is great, and in terms of grip the texture is better than the plastic remote by itself. These don't seem to be showing any wear at all yet, and I expect them to hold up well. Great product for a low price!』
(Great price!) 『A great price for the Wii Remote Sleeve, but not too durable. It tears when you lift it up to change the batteries. It's great to protect the remote&have different color sleeves for each child in the house.』
