(GBC- FYI-( Game Boy Color))
『This is the best system that they did come out with beside's the GBA and GBA SP and technically the original game boy advance really wasn't all that great it was just a spin off of the game boy color the only difference smaller games the GBA SP is pretty good back light on screen and charger that plugs in to my wall yeah it's nice but it doesn't quite have the same old feeling I get when I play the game boy color the GBC bring's back a lot of good old memories excellent games for that system even when I look here or at gamestop or electronic boutiques I alway ask for the older games you just can't beat old school no matter how hard you try yeah some of the newer game's are alright but I still like old school games nothing beats them better the GBC is exactly like the GBA SP only the GBC doesn't fold and doesn't have the smaller games that's the only difference and the GBC does have a charger that can plug in to the wall because I looked into it on this website: [...].』

(Game Boy Color)
『I had the teal game boy color for the longest time and loved it to peices but I gave it to my cousins so oh well I'm getting a new game boy color in purple this time either way the game boy color is excellent the double aa bateries in the game boy color can last for the longest time ever trust me on this I know that for a fact that they can really last long my one cousin was playing my game boy color around christmas time about six years ago and we stayed up until 12:00 midnight playing totally angelica on the game boy color. if your buying a game boy color you won't be disappointed it exactly like the game boy advance sp only with out the screen light that's the only bad thing is that you have to by a light for it.』

(Better than an SP)
『This is the origanal Gameboy Color its not some crappy SP this was amazing due to all the colors on the screen and the size was better than a gamegear for sure. Most of the titles are great and take full advantage of the colors many people say that it's not that great only because there is no backlight,
but who cares anyone remember the Gameboy Light? And how did that turn out, horrible nintendo did mot want to take another risk like that and they were right backlights and graphics don't make a game console
*cough gamegear cough* its the games for the console and these games are awesome so if you want dust off your old library of Gameboy color games go for it youll be sorry if you don't』

(Pathetic, Prefer original GameBoy)
『The gameboy color was good but i really like the 1989 gameboy the grey one that takes 4 batteries』

(what can i say?)
『Game Boy Color was the first hand held game I got back when it was still available at wal-mart. Though I got the teal version, it came bright in color and with the two pokemon games I wanted. Battery life is good even for someone that played it for four or five hours, though as others said the screen needs light to be able to play it. Now having lost my teal colored unit I've decided to for this purple one.』

(Yet another installment in the Pokemon series.)
『I won't bother saying what is fun about Pokemon for obvious reasons. I will try and sum up why this is different than the previous ones. There are many new Pokemon added, and this is before the new Pokemon get stupid and unimaginative like in future versions. There's a whole new storyline and character set. The graphics are by far the best in the series so far. The sound/music is still lackluster. The only thing really holding the game back at all is the feeling that they only made it to make some money. This is probably the last game in the series before it converts completely into the "make the game and cash in" stage. The "cash in" stage lasts until Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, the first original ones since, well, Gold and Silver.』

(Pokemon Gold)
『It's a fun game to own and play along with it's counterpart,Pokemon Silver. Only certain aspects of game play are negatives such as the time aspect and daily events as well as having to chase the legendary pokemon unlike in Pokemon Red and Blue. Missing certain events and having to wait literally a week sometimes to return to them is slightly annoying as is having to capture certain pokemon during specific times of day as they are in some cases specifically nocturnal or their percent in a given area is extremely low. Other than these things the game plays very well and the improvement to color from just a plain solid red or blue color is great. Seeing each pokemon in their given coloration is really nice. The added new types and moves are also a plus. Overall a well worth buy for a Pokemon fan.』

(The BEST Pokemon Game Ever!)
『This game rocks and the same goes for Silver and Crystal. I wish I had not traded off my copies at GameStop, but I also hear the batteries in the old cartridges are dying. Come on Nintendo, you remade Red&Green/Blue, now just give us a Gold/Silver remake instead of junk like Pokemon Ranger 49.』

(hmmm...)
『a great fun game except for the save problem. When u by these games used the cartridges have a limited amount or no save memory at all because of the they were made a long time back. i got this game used off of amazon but my files would not save. i called eb games about it and they said that the save memory for these gameboy games lasts about six or 7 years.he suggested i keep my gameboy on till i beat it which kinda sux. just giving u a heads up . i only have one gameboy and wanted to play other games to. this might also affect my gameboy.』

(One to be played in Retro-vision)
『When I originally played this game, I also had Pokémon Blue, and I was focused mainly on the 'primary goal' of "Gotta Catch 'Em All". The new features of Breeding to get eggs to hatch, and finding certain monsters at certain times of the day, were, at the time, only tools to that end. (Call me a "Team Rocket Grunt"... if you dare.). But after playing P.Ruby and P.Sapphire I realize how much more skill is needed in staying up until Midnight, turning on the game, looking for a Gastly at 'Nite'... and not hide under the blanket with a flashlight; or catching a Pikachu to raise and have it raise a Pichu family of offspring...
Visually, P.Gold is "twice-as-good" as Red/Blue/Yellow, in part to it being wholly designed for the Gameboy Color (and yes, the Gameboy Advance can play it too). The Pokédex Encyclopidia animations are nice, too. And for those that notice: The introductions of a Secret Base of sorts- with Record Mixing, decorating your room, more involvement of the Professor in your training, more specialized Pokéballs, plant tending, and more of an after-Elite Four storyline.
The biggest draw back in the storyline, though, is effectivly dropping the originally unnamed land of Kanto to the background with not as much to do beside fighting the older Gym Leaders.』

『POKÉMON GOLD offers another game for fans of the popular Pokémon characters, and the list of features is almost overwhelming. Explore a world with more than 250 Pokémon! The game keeps track of the time via an internal clock, and some Pokémon will only come out during certain times of the day, which means you will quite literally have to get up early in the morning to find them all. Also new to POKÉMON GOLD is Pokémon breeding. Youve heard of Pikachu, but have you heard of Pichu? The PokeGear adds a more streamlined interface for an even greater RPG experience. As in the past games, link upwith a friend, rival, or fellow trainer to trade or battle Pokémon. You can link up to your previous version of POKÉMON RED or BLUE or YELLOW to bring all of your favorite Pokémon into the new game. This version of the game includes Pokémon found only in POKÉMON GOLD』
『Featuring a new adventure that's filled with numerous enhancements and innovations, this long-awaited sequel toPokémon Red,Blue, andYellowgreatly improves upon the series' winning formula, and makes for an even more insanely addictive and wholly absorbing gaming experience.

LikePokémon Silver--which essentially is the same story, with minor gameplay variations--Pokémon Goldcasts players in the familiar role of a young Pokémon Trainer who's out to collect as many different kinds of Pokémon as possible. As in previous games, gameplay consists mostly of exploration (completing various quests in the process) and Pokémon battles, which employ a unique battle system that's like a complex twist on rock-paper-scissors.

But, despite the similarities, it's quite apparent thatPokémon Goldis a whole new ball game from the start. The game is played out in real time, with the current time and day of the week (recorded by an internal clock) having a direct impact on gameplay elements, such as what Pokémon you'll find in the wild, and when certain events occur and characters appear.

While there are too many new and improved features inPokémon Goldto list here, among the highlights are 100 new Pokémon (including two new types), new evolution processes (including breeding), and a more streamlined game interface that has better-organized menus and button shortcuts.

Although it's easier to progress inPokémon Goldthan in the previous games, the sheer amount of fun and game time that's involved is daunting. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better value than this one.--Joe Hon

Pros:

  • Insanely addictive and wholly absorbing gaming experience
  • Time and day of week impact gameplay directly
  • Bevy of new features and hidden secrets
  • Improved graphics and more streamlined game interface
Cons:
  • Minor compatibility issues when using Game Link with previous versions

(incredible! Accept no other version than this one!)
『Dude... As Tradewest used to say,"TRASH THE REST, AND PLAY THE BEST!".
This is truly the greatest incarnation of SMB1 that I have seen to date!
the only three ways that I would like to see it improved would be

A: Port it to the DS to allow the following;

B: Allow a toggle between classic graphics and the graphics (but NOT that gawd-awful reworked play control) which were used in the SNES compilation cartridge, and allow mid-game toggle between classic NES scale and "zoom"(close-up) perspective that was standard in this GBC rendition.

C: MMOSMB1! It might be difficult to figure out how to do this, but if it were possible to string several worlds (with all 4 areas included) together, I can imagine the hilarious result, running in a frantic race with dozens of marios' of many different color schemes, all scrambling to jump, squash, run, and shove their way past the othes from start to finish, with respawning blocks, creatures, and Bowzers! This GBC counterpart offers over 14 worlds, with 4 areas each, and alternative versions and rulesets for 8 of those worlds. it wouldn't be the most compelling game invented, but getting 16 or more different players simultaneously scrambling for this kind of goal would definitely be a sight to see!』

(A Mario Classic)
『Now the old Super Mario Bros. is back with a lot of extras.
First, it's the original game with a nifty save feature (On the map screen hit select to change into Luigi)
Second, Three Savable files
Third, A challenge mode in each level for colllecting the five red coins, Finding yoshi's egg and beating the level with a certain score.
Forth, A versus mode when you and a friend play (a single player mode can be unlocked)
Fifth, a picture album
Sixth, A Toy box containing a calender,You can hold your Birthday, special dates, and notes)a furtune teller, and a banner gallery on witch you can print out banners through the gameboy printer.
Seventh, The original Super Mario Bros. 2 released only in Japan and was later remade on Super Mario Allstars(A collection of classic Mario games, Super Mario Bros.,Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3,&Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels( Super Mario Bros. 2 In Japan)) For the Super Nintendo Entertainment System or SNES. On this game it is called Super Mario Bros. for Super Players or SMBfSP (Confused Yet?)』

『whoah. How should i sat dis.dis game gives u 100+ HOURS OF PLAY.GRAPHICS R R GREAT OLD SCHOOL.STORY MODE IS AWESOME!!!!!!AND BOY DIS GAME WILL GIVE AN AWESOME INSANE SUPER GIANT AND GREAT LEVEL IM STUCK ON THE 3RD LEVEL OF WORLD 4 MY FAV LEVEL IS THE LEVEL WHEN 1ST FIGHT THOSE TURTLES WITH BOOMERANGS BUT THE LEVEL WAS KINDA HARD』

(Too much fluff)
『This game is fun because it has the orginal Super Mario Bros in it. The nostalgia is there on the small Game Boy screen. The down part is the fluff, like images to print out. All this is a total waste of memory on the cartridge.』

(Momma mia, what a come back!!!!!!)
『I was a vivid gamer back in the day, and Mario was always one of my all time favorites. I have long since moved away from the video game scene, but now and then I play the classics on the PC. And when I played this version, I was amazed at how great it had been revived to the GBA. The graphics are the same, the gameplay is the same, the sound is the same, but there is new extras and bonus stuff, a pathway to choose, multi player ect.. I have to say this is the best Mario Bros. (1) game ever! Even better then Mario All Stars (snes) version!!!』
『Nintendo Game Boy Color GBC Game: Super Mario Brothers Deluxe game for the Nintendo Game Boy Color system, in excellent condition (except for a strip of whiteout on the right side of label where someone put it over their name). Includes game cartridge only.』
『One of the best things about the Game Boy Color is that it's basically an original Nintendo Entertainment System that can fit in your pocket. What this means for gamers is that many of the great games for the classic system are being ported to the Game Boy Color, giving us a chance to re-play (or in some cases discover) the best game titles from the '80s.

Nintendo's ownSuper Mario Bros. Deluxeis among the first of these conversions, and it certainly remains one of the best. Actually, calling this game a conversion really doesn't do it justice. This version actually contains more levels than the original game, including the entire Japanese version and a slew of extras (such as a two-player mode).

The controls in this game are easy to grasp--even for novice gamers. All Mario can do is jump (and shoot fireballs with the right power- ups), but it is amazing to see how much gameplay can be squeezed from these simple actions when the controls work in direct harmony with a player's thoughts. The only element of this game that could have been better is that the Game Boy Color's screen isn't quite large enough to show the entire layout of the original game screen, so players may occasionally need to press up and down on the control pad to see some offscreen action. While this can be distracting, it ultimately has minimal impact on gameplay. If you are looking for the quintessential side-scrolling platform game, you can't do much better thanSuper Mario Bros. Deluxe.--T. Byrl Baker

Pros:

  • Classic side-scrolling action gameplay
  • Lots of extras
Cons:
  • Screen isn't quite big enough to show the entire layout of the game

(This Is Awesome!!!)
『If you are kind of new to Pokemon and don't know much about pokemon you should get this game. It's just a pinball game when you have to catch pokemons. I bought this at an Ebgames for 2.99. You can probably get a cheaper price for it unless you read my review at felt that it is so good you have to recive it in the next 24 hours. After you know a lot about this game you probably already know enough about these games to start with Ruby or Blue or Gold. If you want this game new get it for GBA unless you are stuck with a Game Boy Color. I liked the game so much I bouught it for Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance. The difference is that in one of them it shakes the Game Boy which is highly rare. But you have to have a AAA battery for your game. This is a great game.』

(Pokemon Pinball)
『Okay, I am not a pokemon fan at all, but I have to say that I love this game. You can choose from two different tables, red or blue. This game can become very addicting. If you are a pinball fan and not a pokemon fan, you can still enjoy this game. I highly recommened it.』

(It [DISAPPOINTED]!!)
『When I bought it it worked for like 10 mins. I couldnt even figer out how to work it. It came with BAD instructions. It even takes batteries. DONT GET IT!!!!』

(Pokemon Pinball)
『the game is the bomb! perfect for the kids on a long road trip. The game has a rumble feature, so this is the perfect game even for adults, to cause as a distration from stress of work related problems. You should make sure that the game is factory sealed before you buy it.』

(Fun, fun, fun.......)
『I love this game. I am so glad that it is still available for purchase! I wish that I had gotten it a LONG TIME AGO... I have been borrowing my son's friend's game and have always wanted to get my own so that I can earn all 150 characters by myself... Although I will consider sharing it with my son, too. I can't wait to have my own game!

: )』

『In Pokémon Pinball, one thing is obvious: the design team took the existing pinball engine of Kirby's Pinball Land for the Game Boy, and converted it into another machine altogether. In the game, you whack a Pokeball around a pinball machine that's constructed of Pokémon-related obstacles and structures. There are two machines, Red and Blue, and each machine has its own techiques, challenges, bonus levels, and Pokémon. Yep, the idea in the game is to capture Pokémon. How? Well, each machine has its own way of finding the creatures, but once you find it, it's all a matter of hitting it six timeswith your Pokeball. They'll appear in the center screen, and if you manage to catch a Pokémon, it'll sit in your built-in Pokedex. Each machine will also give you the ability to evolve captured Pokémon, since some creatures are not out in the wild. What happens when you manage to get all 150 Pokémon?』
『For those a little poky about catching onto the Pokémon craze, this game is a great way for the uninitiated to get their feet wet. Also, pinball fanatics should not dismiss this as a kid's game, because it's a solid pinball game, regardless of the Pokémon brand.

Two Pokémon-themed tables, Red and Blue, are here for players to bounce the Pokéball around in hopes of catching up to 150 Pokémon monsters. The monsters are collected by hitting targets on the pinball tables, and once collected, the monsters can be perused in the popular Pokédex format. Owners of the Game Boy printer can print their prize collections and mount their characters on the wall, if they so desire. Unfortunately, the monsters collected inPokémon Pinballcannot be traded with other Pokémon monsters from the Red, Blue, or Yellow games, making this game a stand-alone product. A unique aspect of the game is that it has a built-in rumble pack, which vibrates and shakes the Game Boy system as the Pokéball bounces around the screen.--Jeff Young

Pros:

  • A great way for non-Pokéheads to get into the action
  • A respectable pinball game
  • High replayability
Cons:
  • Can't trade Pokémon with ones from the Pokémon Red, Blue, or Yellow games

(This is my first and last Gameboy Color game)
『Let me start of by saying that I did not ever want the Gameboy Color version of this game in the first place. I THOUGHT I was buying the Game Boy Advance version, but the person I bought it from gave me this piece of crap instead. The #1 complant I had was that it was not compatible with my Nintendo DS Lite, so I had to go dig up my Gameboy SP. The game itself is hard and I felt like I was playing a Pokemon game 98% of the time. Things randomly popping up at you? Hmmmm, that reminds me a lot like Pokemon. Turn based battles? Hmmmm, that reminds me of Pokemon too. The graphics reminded me of Pokemon too. If I wanted to play a Pokemon game, I would pick up a Pokemon game. If you don't want to waste your time and money, don't buy this piece of crap. EA didn't want to spend time and money making the game, so you shouldn't waste time and money playing the game.』

(A Disgrace to Harry Potter Games)
『I'm sorry but I really do not like this game. I got it hoping it would be even a little like its gamecube counterpart, but it wasn't. It was extremley confusing and I still have no clue how to do the spell things, even now. I have gotten stuck at Aragog and have no freaking idea how to get past him. And what are those blue rock things????? Everytime I got near one I'd have to fight an elf or something, which lowered my energy so I couldn't beat bosses. This game is so hard and so stupid I feel it's a disgrace to the other Harry Potter games, which were all very good. If you have another system, get this game for it, but if not, consider something else. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!!!』

(great game)
『this was a fun game better then pokemon thats for sure i beated this game 100 times its so easy and fun i think you would like it too.』

(hello! get with it!!!)
『This is the best game I have ever played. If you like Pokemon Ruby or Saphire you will love this. You gain attacks and get levels to help you. The ice attack is the best. I would reccomend this for 8-12 year olds.』

(Soooooooooo fun)
『I had no thought of getting another game. I went straight to it in the store. I thought that the game would be a lot easier. But I spent hours trying to figure the first part out. When I finally figured the game out,I couldn't take my eyes off it. It's a great game!!!!』

(Awesome game)
『This game is really fun. You can count on this game to keep your intrest. I loved it and I have so many games already that it is almost inpossible to keep track. This was the one game out of all of mine that I got the most use out of. There are a lot of levels and new lands. You can choose between 2 characters [lille frog or frogger]. There are 6 or more stages. Ice Age Gators lair and many many more... If youre interested in this game I say go for it! You'll be happy with your purchase!』

『My best friend's brother had this game, and since he seemed pretty in to it, I decided to put it on my Christmas list. As a result, it turned out to be one of those can't-take-your-fingers-off-it kinda game. I enjoy the fact that it still has that classic Frogger adventure to it, yet it also added a couple of curves, too. My favorite section of levels would be the "Ice-Age", only cuz you don't need to hop around, you can slide!!』

(BEST ARCADE GAME EVER...)
『THIS IS THE BEST ARCADE GAME EVER. IT IS SOOO FUN. I COULND STOP PLAYING IT. I THINK EVERBODY SHOULD HAVE A COPY OF AT LEAST ONE OF PAC MANS GAMES....GET THIS GAME』

(Difficult on the Game Boy)
『I have always played Pac Man with two hands. One hand for movements to the right, and the other hand for movements to the left. Either hand for up or down.
On the Game Boy, you can only navigate with one hand (the thumb) in all directions. It is very difficult, especially for players who are used to the arcade, joystick, or even computer version. Like a person above stated, I miss a lot of moves because of this. I'm getting better though.』

(Get 2 for 1)
『Pacman is always a fun game, I was surprised however that no one mentioned how hard it is to see the blue lines that make up the maze. Unless you have a very strong light on the screen, you may waste some time missing a turn because the blue maze boundaries are so hard to view. LOVED the additional tetris-like game, now I dont have to buy the original!』

(The king of all video games)
『I remember being absolutely fascinated with Pac-Man when it first came out. It was truly groundbreaking and I had to get it when I bought my Game Boy Color. As others have said, it is a little hard to control with the Game Boy pad thing and not the joystick and I have lost several lives because of that difficulty. Also, others here have complained that the maze doesn't change at all but I'm 99.9-100% sure that it never changed at all in the original arcade version. It was Ms. Pac-Man that introduced changing mazes.』

(Quite enjoyable)
『I'm an old timer who remembers the original PacMan. This is quite enjoyable, but as another reviewer has said, it is quite difficult to play on the game boy. Fun for idle moments, though.

I much prefer the PacMan world game on PlayStation - far more challenging and very simple to play. END』
『The original franchise character can now be put in the palm of your hand with PAC-MAN: Special Color Edition for the Game Boy Color. The game is simple: you're a big yellow disk with a mouth, and your goal is to clear a maze of dots while avoiding four ghosts. As luck would have it, there are four large dots, referred to as "power pellets," that will turn the ghosts blue and allow Pac-Man to eat them for even more bonus points. All of the original levels from the arcade game are included, as well as a full version of the puzzle game PAC ATTACK. Now you can relive the early days of the arcade with PAC-MAN: Special Color Edition.』
『Pac-Man is one of the few video game characters that truly needs no introduction. The little yellow gobbler dominated the arcades in the 80s, and now Namco has unleashed him to a new generation of players with the introduction ofPac-Man Special Color Edition. You don't need a Game Boy Color to play this one, but it sure loses a lot of its appeal when played in black and white.

While this isn't an exact translation of the original arcade game, it's still a lot of fun to play. Your job remains the same: guide Pac-Man around a maze, gathering pellets and avoiding ghosts. When the level is cleared you just do the same thing all over again, only faster. We were disappointed that the playing field never changes, but Namco can be forgiven since they also threw the bonus game Pac-Attack on the cartridge. It's an addictive littleTetris-like game that also has a challenging puzzle mode, and it serves as a nice break when maze-running gets a little stale.--T. Byrl Baker

Pros:

  • Classic arcade gameplay
  • BonusPac-Attackgame is fairly fun
Cons:
  • Maze doesn't change
