Maybe it's just my specific product, but the picture quality is really, really bad. You can hardly say it's a color monitor. Even dark blue colors look white. It makes me wonder how they created the product images...
The angle of the camera is ridiculous. The camera must be placed in front of the person to see him right. I thought I could place it aside the door, but then you will not see your guest. They say it has tiltable camera lens, but actually, you can tilt it only vertically. Changing the position horizontally ends up with a picture of your guest profile.
There is no option to change the volume of the doorbell or to disable it.
To make it worse, when you turn on the camera, it makes a sound on the outside unit, making sure the person know that you are looking at him...
It is so bad that I've decided to put it aside until some other use arise.

The "alarm" feature makes a pseudo siren sound to scare away the "Bad guys" but is really just silly.
We had doubts about the performance and ordered one camera / one monitor, but then ordered a second monitor (you can connect up to three monitors to a single camera) so that we can see who is at the front door from both the basement and the second floor.
Camera angle could be wider for our set up, but it's sufficient. Also, the camera lens can be adjusted up and down (but not right or left).

(Canon DR-2580C is very good) 『My previous document scanner was a Fujitsu fi4220c. It was an impressive scanner and suited my purposes well. I think I used it for about 7 yrs, and its flatbed scanning assembly finally broke. So, I replaced it with the Canon DR-2580C, based on a review from PC Magazine. So far, it had performed perfectly for my purposes. I am a physician and want to digitize many medical records from my solo practice to save space. I also OCR many professional articles that I study. Therefore, I mainly scan in simplex or duplex black&white at 300 dpi. This scanner is very quick in scanning the paperwork. I think it is essentially as quick as the Fi4220c. It is better in that it is much smaller than the fi4220c, because it does not have a flatbed scanner. I was concerned about the lack of a flatbed and considered buying the flatbed attachment. But I have not needed to use a flatbed since I owned the DR-2580C. I had previously used the flatbed of the fi4220c to scan the checks that I received. However, the DR-2580C performed this job easily without the need for a flatbed. The checks fed through the scanner without jamming. The scanner utility could deskew any minor misalignment. This was an improvement over the utility from the fi4220c. I also applaud the utility of the scanner utility. It makes scanning a quick and convenient process. I saved the two scanning profiles that I use most often. When I scan, usually through Adobe Acrobat, I just need to press "alt-F, F, Enter, Enter" and the scanning process begins with the last profile that I had used. So far, I am very satisfied with this scanner. I gave this scanner 4 stars only because I had not owned it for very long--only since the end of 8/2007. I don't know how well it will stand up to time and wear. Will it start jamming more frequently when the parts are older? I also have not tried all its features and don't know how well they work.』
(Great little scanner) 『I was a little hesitant to spend so much money on a scanner, but I wanted one that was both fast and accurate. I got both in this machine. It can scan multiple pages at very high speeds, and the quality and clarity of the images is great. I generally scan to pdf, but I've scanned to OCR and found that it was able to recognize most of the text quite accurately. It also has a variety of filters with which one can enhance images (for example, if the document to be scanned is in pencil, or if it has a colored background). If you play around with the settings, you can greatly enhance the images. I also appreciate how compact this model is; in its closed position it occupies the same amount of desk space as a standard-sized magazine or sheet of paper. The software and controls are extremely simple and intuitive, so you don't have to learn much to get started.
The only negative I've found is that it does jam fairly easily if the original is crinkly, too thin, etc., so you have to be careful. I don't know how this compares with other sheet-fed scanners, because this is the first one I've owned.
All and all, if you do a fairly high volume of scanning and can live with the price, I recommend it highly.』

I was using a flatbed, also from Canon but it was too bulky and SLOW as molasses. the DR-2580C might be expensive, but well worth the cost. When I got this, I was really skeptical, but don't be fooled by it's compact size! This thing scans so quickly and saved me hours of scanning documents (I work in tax preparation and I scan hundreds of financial documents). Included was Adobe Acrobat 7 standard which in itself costs $200. This was a very good investment. It has already payed for itself in a matter of days. Use this scanner with adobe acrobat to create pdfs and you are in business. The feeder takes pages quickly. IPhone 3G used's review (False Advertising? - Wrong Product) 『I specifically ordered a E193 due to the fact that I am running dual monitors and wanted them to line up. I received an E196, and when I told him that he sent the wrong one, the response was that the E193 has been discontinued, and replaced with the e196. However, he is still offering the E193 for sale, but says that he doesn't have them any longer. The E196 IS nice and clear, and I am not sending it back, as he DID offer to refund the money. But he is also still advertising that he has the E193. Just an FYI.』

Best printer I've ever owned or seen! No comparison. I was originally put off by the price tag; however, it's worth every penny. I can't believe I put up with inkjets for so long. I'm cured. This printer is such a relief: fast printing, easy network installation, inexpensive ink, no ink-cartridges to throw away, and amazing glossy color. In fact, the dry ink technology (it's almost like a wax) allows you to print on low quality paper and have a pristine glossy output. Sorry if I'm gushing, but I love this thing. The software does not bog the computer and there's virtually no lag between pressing print and the printing--even using the printer via the network port. Compare that to HP printers that require cumbersome, buggy software that bogs the computer, crashes regularly, and takes 30 seconds to a minute before it even thinks about printing.
This printer is a breeze and the results are beautiful. I'm telling everyone about these things.
Our only problem was with tray selection when printing envelopes from MS Word. Xerox tech support was very patient and got it solved. It was fixed by changing the paper selection for tray 1 to "dynamic" and the manual tray to "automatic".
I wish now that I'd gone with the full copier/fax/scanner/printer version of this. I would have loved to have replaced everything in our office with a Xerox Phaser 8560MFP/N dry-ink multi-function (although multi-function units don't always work as well as dedicated units--but Xerox has earned my trust). Instead, I just replaced our fax machine (an old crummy Sharp inkjet) with a Brother MFP with "PC Fax" that can send our faxes to the Xerox.
Buy this (or maybe the 8560MFP/N) now and thank yourself later!』

(Fast, Capable, and Accurate) 『I purchased this printer one month ago after owning (within the year) a Lexmark c530dn and an HP2600dn.
There is no comparison in quality of print, speed of print, cost of materials (practically half $ of the other two), and quality of machine/parts. The solid ink is a great solution as well.
I am a graphic designer and I do a good deal of printing (and printing large files) and I have been searching long and hard for a good machine that I could rely on and that wouldn't eat me alive on ink cost and consumables and that can print my files quickly (almost instantaneously). After trying out two competitors (mentioned above), I finally purchased this one and it's great. Highly recommended.
Pro: Fast, accurate, easy to use, reasonable usage cost, quiet, color quality
Con: You will need to be a person whom prints often or daily or the print heads will clog. This is a "working" machine and not something that needs to sit unused for a week or two. Also, when it prints there is a sudden, loud sound as the page is coming out. It's brief, but loud.
Update (9/15/2008) One reviewer has recommended a third-party ink and I will not say this is bad (it saves a good deal of cash). However, I am of two minds:
A. I have not read any objective reports that say it is safe to use 3rd-party ink. In fact, I can only find reports from users whom say these inks have clogged their jet heads. (Though keep in mind that people tend to only comment if they are complaining.) B. In my reading, one person gave a good argument that you could save enough money on ink costs by using 3rd party ink to actually purchase another Phaser if it goes kaput (because of using the 3rd-party ink). I can't verify this as true, but it's something to think on. :)』
(Awesome color printer for Macs) 『I bought the Xerox Phaser 8560N to replace an HP Color Laserjet printer that I was fed up with. The Xerox product is fantastic. I bought it directly from Xerox (by phone). The print quality is beautiful. Not messing with the toner cartridges is wonderful. The speed of printing is fantastic. Why am I so pleased with this printer? In part because I was so frustrated with the HP models.
I use this printer as part of a home network of Macs. I had an issue getting it networked properly (a problem with my Airport Base Station, it turns out) and contacted Xerox customer support. That experience also exceeded my expectation. Again, in part, because my expectation was so low with other equipment manufacturers.

(A little waxy) 『I bought this printer because of the low "ink" cost, which other users have mentioned come in wax blocks. The quality is very nice, I use it for when I want to print my office letterhead in color. The printer does take a LONG time to warm up, but I'm not a high-volume user, so that's OK. One thing I would like to warn people about is the downside of using wax inks. For one thing, if you take the page too quickly after printing and put it into a scanner, you can find black wax spots globbed onto your scanner. It comes off with alcohol, but my scanner eyes are not exactly easily accessible and it's a pain. The second thing is that there is a waxy film over the whole page, which you CANNOT highlight and is very difficult to use pen on, so it's not good for printing out reports for others to make comments onto the pages. And finally, I have never found the ink locally, not even at Fry's, so if you suddenly run out of ink, you'll have to wait for express mail because you have to buy it online.
