IPhone 3G used's review (Worst printer I have owned) 『This is my third Epson printer. I dearly loved my others. The CX8400 is the worst piece of junk printer I have owned. Epson has already replaced this for me once on warranty and the second is no better. The biggest problem is the paper loading and feed. You have to stand directly over the paper feed to load the paper to be sure it gets into the slot. Then it generally pulls the paper on a slight skew. Every time I print labels it smudges the bottom of the page with black ink.
I have all new cartridges inst5alled and without using more than 1% of the color the software show the ink levels at 10% Either the software is not working or ink is dripping out of the cartridges into the printer. I have been very surprised and impressed with the photo print quality of this printer. If you use the proper paper, you really CAN get lab-comparable results! I dabble in some photography and belong to some clubs here and there, some of which have ongoing competitions. Now don't get me wrong here, these are some VERY picky clubs indeed as far as scrutinizing EVERYTHING about photos entered in competitions - from the photo composition and such right down to the presentation as a whole so yes, print quality counts - a LOT. Normally I send off things to some specialty photo print houses online when there is something I want to enter - at worst maybe I'll use Ritz Camera (which is not a bad place, just not quite as high end as some out there). Well, one time I wanted to put something in and had been neglectful and not gotten a print order in to anyplace. With just a few hours to go, I decided to try out this printer's quality level - Well, bottom line is that I actually won a 1st prize for a category - With a photo printed on this printer! I was SO surprised at how good the quality is!
The Bad: Ink Usage
Okay, now the bad - As others have said, it does drink ink. HOWEVER, nowheres near as badly as just about any Lexmark printer I have ever known. And unlike Lexmark printer ink, the cartridge prices really aren't so bad. If you buy them in a store like Best Buy then they will run you about $15 each which is starting to get up there a bit. But if you do go ahead and buy from Epson then they are only like $11 and $12 each. I have not kept count of exactly how many prints I get per cartridge but again, its definitely more than any Lexmark I've ever known. I'd probably put it comparable to many HP printers I've known. And of course, few will ever beat Canon for ink usage so theres just no comparison there.
The Mediocre: Ease of Use
Epson software does not beat out Canon software for quality and usability. There are many features seemingly built in to all Canon printing software that are either glaringly absent or possibly just not yet found by me (which also would give demerits in the usability catagory even if that is the case - you need to be able to quickly and easily find what you are looking for) An example is that I've not yet found a software based function to print multiple photos on a page and arrange them in any way you want them.
This being said though, installation was a breeze - In a not quite top line installation situation - I'd installed on one computer using the factory supplied disks - Then I wanted to install on a laptop. I didn't feel like searching out where I'd put the disks so thought I'd attempt a plug and play and see what would happen - Windows found the software online immediately and Epson downloaded and installed all drivers and software via Windows plug and play within minutes! I've never seen such an install go so quickly or so smoothly! I thought it likely it would just be the basic drivers but no, it actually turned out to be everything on the factory supplied disk!
Summary:
I am generally willing to spend a bit more on printing materials than are many people, especially if I can get needed quality right at home so overall, even with the tendency of this printer to go through ink quickly, I've not been terribly disturbed by that. As with most anything you buy, its all a trade-off somewhere - even if one's tradeoff is just in an initial purchase price. Most things really do end up costing about the same when you add in every aspect of them, including your time and effort. IPhone 3G used's review (Good prints, but...) 『This is, in and of itself, a good printer/scanner/copier. It makes good prints (when you use the right media), and scans accurately. I'm not too worried about print speed, because I'm an amateur home user. Where I take issue with the CX6600 is in changing ink. The cartridges have a chip on them which tells the printer when they think they're out of ink (whether or not they actually are); and once that happens, all you have is a (rather ugly) desk ornament. If, for example, you're out of cyan ink, you can't print in black only; you can't even scan. I discovered this recently when I needed to scan something for my job; that cost me some time running out to get some (obscenely overpriced) ink. I'm lucky with my CX6600 in that mine hasn't suffered the 'death by clogging' to which so many other owners seem to have fallen victim. To sum up: I would discourage anyone from buying this - or any other - Epson printer.』

It happened like this. I'd been wanting a scanner for several years, but two years ago when another friend gave me a three-in one, I turned around and gave it to my grandson. I felt he needed it more than I did because he had school projects to work on.
My good deed did not go unrewarded. Another dear friend recently bought a new five-in-one Epson Stylus for his daughter and liked it so well, he bought one for himself. Since he no longer needed his three-in-one, he gave it to me. What goes around, comes around! Isn't that cool?
I'm having more fun with it--scanning old pictures and re-scanning ones I had lost in a computer crash, not to mention printing letters, copying documents, photos and other daily essential uses. I'm like a kid with a new toy because I can also restore old photos, and am learning new uses every day.
I don't have a digital camera yet, but when I get one, this Stylus allows me to select photos from memory cards, cameras and phones with the two-inch color display and print brilliant, long-lasting results on plain and photo paper with DURABrite Ultra ink.

They included: CMYK inks, wide-format prints, duplexing, and network capability. I didn't think finding those qualities would be terribly difficult, but I was quickly proven wrong.
In comes the OfficeJet Pro K8600DN. After months of looking, I settled on this little puppy, and I couldn't be happier with it. If you're a graphic artist looking for an affordable printer, or if you simply want to be able to print small runs of quality color documents, this printer works wonderfully.
Keep in mind, however, that this is not your standard office printer. It doesn't scan, it doesn't fax, it doesn't do your laundry. It just prints--incredibly well, I might add. Furthermore, it weighs as much as a small car and takes up a lot of real estate on a desk. Keep these things in mind when looking at this model.
Setup is straightforward. After unwrapping the thing, you'll quickly notice it has a good build quality; plastic it may be, but it doesn't feel near as flimsy as your standard all-in-one. You install the duplexer, drop in the print heads and inks (front-loading, a nice feature), and plug it in. The first time you turn it on, the printer whirrs and chirps for a good 20 minutes before spitting out a diagnostic sheet. Review this carefully to make sure no adjustments are necessary.
The K8600dn can handle all types of media, including sheets up to Super B size (13 x 19). That kind of paper is large and relatively expensive, but crucial when you're proofing something before shipping it off for a final print. The standard media tray in the front of the printer is solid and works well, but a nice option is the rear-loader for single sheets of special media.
As for the print and color quality, it's excellent. Color lasers might produce slightly better color, but let's face it: few people have the money to slap down on a color laser. When it comes to inkjets, the prints from the K8600dn rival almost any I've seen. One caveat: I have not printed photos on this machine. It's not billed as a photo printer, but it does have the capability. While I have faith it will produce good results, my advice to those looking to print large quantities of big photos should stick with one of the myriad 6-9 color wide-format photo printers by Epson or Canon.
If the color reproduction, the duplexer, the network capability, and the ease of use doesn't get you, the speed of this printer probably will. It's blazingly fast, even when printing complex illustrations or layouts. This is a real treat for short-run jobs.
As for operation costs, I can't give a full report, as I've only had the printer a while. However, the inks are relatively common and can be had for a decent price; the printheads are rated for a pretty long life. The printer is Energy Star compliant, which is appreciated. I'll try to report back when I get a better handle on what the costs are in the long run. However, this isn't the type of printer that I (or most, for that matter) am going to be using constantly.
I got this printer through an Amazon third-party seller for about $300, shipping included. Frankly, after using it for a while, I probably would have been willing to pay a good deal more. HP got it right with this one!』
