I like it because is not too big and not too small either. So, it can fit very easily almost at any type of desk. I recommend it without any doubt.』
(Slow, painful death) 『Bought the 3650 in fall 2003 as part of a bundle deal w/ new Compaq. It was great for about the first year and a half. I was even able to print on cardstock, got great color for making flashcards, etc. First the cardstock started jamming randomly, then constantly. So I quit even bothering to try printing on cardstock. Then random plain paper jams started, becoming more and more frequent. It was really bad last summer, and I vowed to get a new one. By the time I had extra cash in Sept/Oct, the darn thing was working better again. I think humidity effects it, b/c this week - our first truly humid weather this season - I've been ready to throw it across the room. Lots of extra clunking noises lately - but that's good, b/c the more noise, the more likely it will finish the page. As for the cartridge life, the warning messages lie - you can go way, way longer than they imply. They just want you buy new ones. But this was my first printer, so I don't really have anything to compare them to. I guess 4-1/2 years is better than a lot of other reviewers have gotten out of it, but I am done!!! 』
(It's so bad, it's almost comical.) 『When it prints, it prints ok - about as good as you'd expect from a cheap printer.
The problem is, I think it's possessed. Clearly some evil force has taken over my printer. It works when it wants to. It may print 10 sheets without a problem and then jam on every sheet after that. And when it jams it makes a horrible clunking noise. If you print a multi-page document and it jams on the last sheet - once the jam is cleared - it may decide to reprint everything again, or nothing at all.
Sometimes it will start printing when you haven't Queued anything. You'll be sitting there, minding your business, and it will feed a sheet of paper and start printing. And when you check your print Queue, you'll find it's empty.
My family is planning to put it in the back yard and let everyone have a chance beating it with a hammer. I'd say, save up your empties for a few weeks and buy something a little better.』

(Great printer for PLAIN PAPER ONLY) 『I switched to HP from EPSON because of the frequent, annoying and expen$$ive clogged printer heads. The HP printers have the advantage that the cartridges have the heads so you get fresh heads with each cartidge. The problem with this one in particular is that it works fine with plain paper, but don't even try to print labels (cd labels, or mailing labels, etc...) because you'll go crazy trying to align things up, since it prints perfectly in plain paper while you're aligning your artwork, but when you finally switch to the special label sheets, the alignment will go bonkers and absolutely unpredictable. After wasting plenty of label sheets in frustration, I accepted the fact that I just couldn't print labels with this printer. On the other hand, I could print on glossy photo paper just fine, and the quality was quite acceptable. UNTIL it began jamming. After close to a year of not too frequent photo printing, it began jamming to the point that I havent been able to get a single complete photo printed. I'm beginning to think that printer manufacturers should add "disposable" to their product description, since all inket printers seem to be made to last no longer than a year. (I love this palm. Kind of slow, though.) 『I've had about seven different palms and even an iPaq, but so far this has been my favorite. I like the fact that it has a SD slot - I have about 42mb of stuff, and that would never fit on the palm itself. I also really like the vibrating alarm thing. At my school, the teachers will take away any electronic devices that disrupt class, so the vibrate function is essential if I want to remind myself of anything during class. It's also really small compared to most handhelds.
This stuff is all great, but I think the best thing about this palm is how durable it is. My Zire broke when I tripped in the hall, but i've abused the heck out of my m515 and you can't even tell. About a week ago, my friend got mad at me and hit me with a Geometry textbook right where my palm was in my pocket. Those things have like 700 pages and aren't exactly soft and fuzzy. I frantically pulled it out of my pocket, only to discover that it didn't even have a scratch.
Now for the bad stuff. My palm was one of those 'made in china' things, and like other customers have mentioned, the screws on the back started to come out. I figured out an easy fix, though - I borrowed a T5 driver from my dad (who's a technitian guy, so he has all those hard to find tools) and put some super - strength automotive threadlock on the screws. That problem's gone - I just hope i never have to replace the battery or anything.
Also, the m515 is kind of slow. My scripture reading program takes 1-3 minutes to search through my files and find my scripture database. This doesn't seem like a big deal, but when i'm waiting around for 1-3 minutes staring at a blank screen, it seems like years.
I can live with that, though. I love being able to write down my homework on something that doesn't use paper. Plus, I can set alarms in Diddlebug for my homework and then just completely forget about it until after school.

(don't trust it to not crash before your next hotsync) 『I have been using this for years and have found that I can never trust it to keep any new info. Taking it on the road and relying on it to not crash is prohibitivly risky. I stripped out all 3rd party software including avant go and only use the bare basic calendar, phonelist and notes and still find it crashes WAY too frequently, needing a reset that wipes out everything in its memory untill my next hot sync. Much as I like the functionality that it was designed for, I'm sick of this piece of crap and am searching hard for a reliable PDA.
Hey Palm! How about making a PDA that is reliable and comes with good free tech support for two years (i.e. try not to put your customers on hold forever or charge them excessive fees to fix your unreliable equipment). If any of your competitors do it first I have plenty of money to throw down.

(Completely Worthless!) 『After owning my palm m515 for 6 months, it stopped charging. Of course this happened when I was traveling, so I lost all the new information on had entered during my trip. Luckily I was able to reload the old information which I had on my computer. Since it was still under warrenty, I was able to send it back to get a fixed one in exchange. A year or so later, it just stopped syncronizing for no reason. I refuse to pay to speak to a Palm representative, and their website is indecipherable and holds nothing helpful. Palm is only interested in having you buy, but they are definitely not interested in keeping you as a customer. The company is completely worthless!
The Tungston T which I purchased for my boyfriend has progressively degenerated also.

We were among the many who voiced disappointment with the Palm m505, and while the m515's color screen still isn't at the top of the class, it's an obvious and welcome improvement. With display support for over 65,000 colors, icons and images (viewed in the included PhotoSuite application) have a nice richness and depth of color. However, as the screen resolution is only 160 by 160 pixels, the m515 doesn't achieve the crispness found in the Sony T615 (which has a 320 by 320 pixel resolution). But ultimately, unless you need a high-end multimedia viewer integrated into your handheld, you should be suitably happy with the m515's display.
There are only three levels of brightness contrast control--high, low, and off. At first we were taken aback by the "off" setting, as it rendered the screen almost invisible in our office, but it's fine for outdoor usage and will help conserve battery power.
With its curved angles, thin design, and light weight, the Palm m515 feels very comfortable, both in the palm of your hand and resting in your pocket. Also, with the m515's 33 MHz DragonBall VZ processor, we found switching applications to be very fast.
The applications and desktop software (version 4.01 for Windows and version 2.6.3 for Mac) haven't changed, and that's just fine with us. (Note that a beta version of Palm Desktop 4 for Mac OS X is available for download.) The Palm interface is one of the most elegant and simple to understand--yet powerful--operating systems around.
But Palm adds more power with a variety of add-on applications that you can choose to install, ranging from Documents To Go for viewing and editing Word and Excel documents, to Palm's collection of mobile connectivity apps, to the aforementioned PhotoSuite for viewing images and short movies. Our favorite is AvantGo, an app that downloads Web content to the m515 whenever you synchronize, which enables us to keep up with the latest world news as well as Aussie Rules Football scores. You can add even more content and applications via the expansion slot, using optional Secure Digital or MultiMediaCard memory cards.
You can choose to synchronize the Palm m515 with the Palm Desktop application or link to Microsoft Outlook (Windows only). Palm Desktop is more than adequate, but if you are in a corporate environment and Outlook is your scheduling/e-mailing/tasking brain center (which it is for us), the synchronization is seamless.

I called customer service and was told "there must be something wrong with your computer." The device never worked so I returned it. Unfortunately I purchased a membership which they refused to refund because of their policy.
I contacted Golflogix and received a $150 discount since my first one was stolen to purchsed a new device. I also requested a refund of my original membership fee but was denied for same reason as Sonocaddie. However to my surprise once I purchased their device and purchased a second membership Garmin did refund the fee. My computer downloaded several courses without issue.
I saved several hundred dollars by returning the V300, have a Golflogix that works great and learned a $32 lesson about poor customer service regardless of company policy. 』
(Great GPS Golf range finder) 『I've had my Sonocaddie for a month or so now. It is really great. Boots up quickly, in my area gets 9 or 10 satellites; very accurate. Very light and easy to use. Like the fact you can program&change courses on your own. Only negative is lack of courses already mapped, but the company is good to map them for you when asked. You actually get a real person to answer when you call. I have two other units, an IGOLF and a GolfLogix. The first is a piece of crap, the latter is a good unit, but your must keep your membership current or you can't use the unit. The Sonocaddie also keeps your score&holds a bunch of courses. (Makes Skycaddie users jealous!) 『I love it! The first time I took the Sonocaddie out I hit more greens than I ever have on the approach. The full-color, full hole layout makes golf a real pleasure to play, on any course you choose. Nice little tip for the beginner is to start out just using the basic features of the Sonocaddie, yardage and the normal scorecard. Did I mention the scorecard feature is AWESOME??! The thing lets you keep track of your total score while you play, and if you use the pro scorecard feature tracks your percentages and stats as you play. Very handy for tuning the parts of your round that need attention.
The only bummer I can see two: you can't keep track of your buddies' scores on this unit, and for courses that don't have all the information entered it might take a couple more steps to use (full course info includes hole layout, yardage, and scorecard par for all holes). But nonetheless, even the Skycaddie users I've played with love the flexibility and color feature of this unit (haven't run into an SG5 user yet though). $50/lifetime is also hard to beat for the membership fee (one time!).
