『I just bought the Epson Artisan 800, which I will review shortly. I have not made up my mind as to whether I will keep it or not. I have gone with Epson for years and the quality of inks is unsurpassed in the industry. I usually print 8x10 prints. In testing the printer there were several software glitches that made it print more prints than I told it to.
The ink works stellar on Costco premium photo paper that I personally like more than Epson. It is cheaper and dries faster and looks as good. This ink produces professional quality prints. Epson has done it again.

Nonetheless,it is immaterial what these lab test claim. What matters is what happens in real life. I am not going to make a print that is draft quality which is what alot of these tests do. I am making fine art photos.


Here is the glitch...I printed 5 8x10's and 3 4x6 with margins. My light cyan is 2/3rd's gone. The high capacity black is 1/3 gone and light magenta is 1/2 gone. That is roughly $15 Epson prices or a little under $3/ print. Costco for an 8x10 is $1.79 and 11 1/2x 14 is $2.79 The Epson eats ink like candy. I suspect that the prices for prints are much cheaper commercially.Obviously custom prints are going to be higher. So it comes down to convience and creative control. When the cost is almost 2x what a commercial lab charges, it may not be worth it.


Price: Amazon beats Epson by $3 on the 5 pack and if you have super saver then it is money in your pocket. Epson beats Amazon by $4 on the black and if you buy 3 or more inks there is free overnight shipping. Interestingly the high capacity black which they sell the most of is $2 more than the other colors.....go figure.

Caveat emptor- Epson was found to have made the electronics on it's printer cartriges reflect empty cartridges when they were not empty so buyers would have to buy more ink cartriges. We all know Epson makes money selling ink. Printers do not make big bucks, ink does.I received a bunch of coupons that supposedly I could enter the numbers into their website and get free ink. The number never worked, ergo no free ink.

So that is the ink story. I think I am going to check out the Canon all in ones before I decide to keep this Epson. The last I saw Canon had come way up in quality and the inks are cheaper.』

(Hi-Definition Claria Ink for Your Epson Artisan 700 or 800 Printer)
『This Epson 99 Color Multipack is quite a bargain, when you need replacement ink cartridges for your Epson Artisan 700 or 800 model printer. This multipack includes all 5 standard capacity color cartridges (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Light Cyan, and Light Magenta), but does NOT include a black cartridge. Purchasing the multipack will usually save you anywhere from $5 to $10, over buying the cartridges individually, depending on where you buy it from. If you need a replacement black cartridge, you will need to order the #98 Black separately.

All of the cartridges in this multipack are the Epson #99 standard capacity type, which are claimed to yield approximately 500 pages each, based on the ISO/IEC 24711 and 24712 standard for ink jet products. Of course the page count will vary, depending on the amount of ink coverage of each particular color you use on each given page. In comparison, the #98 high capacity color ink cartridges are claimed to yield approx. 855 pages per color, based on the same ISO test standards. Black is only available in #98 high capacity, which is rated at about 545 pages (it is assumed that more black ink is used per page than color ink). This Epson 99 Color Multipack, as well as the #98 black cartridges are available at most online and local retailers. But as of this review date, the #98 high capacity color cartridges are only available for purchase directly from the Epson website.

The Claria ink in these cartridges is boasted to produce photos with unsurpassed richness, depth and clarity, and is also smudge, scratch, water and fade resistant. Epson claims that this ink, when used in combination with Epson Premium Photo Paper, produces better quality photos than you can get from a photo lab. As for my personal experience, I have found this ink to indeed produce very rich and vivid color photos, which look at least as good as I can get from a local photo lab. What amazes me is how quickly this ink dries, when used on Epson Premium photo paper. After the photos print, at the highest print quality settings on my Artisan 800, I can touch the printed side of the paper within 15 to 20 seconds without smudging. Within 2 to 3 minutes the ink has dried enough for normal handling. In comparison, when I print at highest quality settings on my HP OfficeJet 7310, using HP Premium Plus photo paper and HP Vivera ink, I have to wait at least 15 to 20 minutes before I can even touch the printed side of the photos, and a couple of hours before the photos can be handled without extra caution. I have also tested the water resistant claims of the Epson Claria ink, and do find that it is resistant to slight amounts of moisture. Please note the words "resistant" and "slight" in that last sentence. If a small drop of water comes in contact with the printed Claria ink, and is allowed to dry without touching or smearing it, the photo will show little to no signs of discoloration or damage to the image. However, if any part of the image becomes saturated with water, or if the drop(s) of water are smeared in any way, you can definitely see signs of discoloration and/or color smudging/smearing. When I tested my HP Vivera ink in the same manner, even the slightest amount of moisture introduced to the prints would cause obvious damage to the images. Therefore I can personally back the claim that the Epson Claria ink, as used in the #99 cartridges, is modestly water resistant. The claim of scratch resistance is also true, unless a very sharp or pointed object is dragged across the print. So for normal everyday handling, this Claria ink seems to stand up to a moderate amount of abuse without the photo being ruined. I do not have the means to test the fade resistance claims, so I guess I have to take Epson at its word in this area.

Another thing I would like to point out, regarding my previous experience with Epson Claria inks, is that it does not tend to dry up and clog the print heads nearly as easily as I have experienced with the HP Vivera ink. I have an Epson Stylus Photo R380 Inkjet Printer, which uses Claria ink cartridges, and I can let the printer sit, unused, for several weeks, and still get perfect printing results without having the run a cleaning cycle on the printer. This makes me believe that the Claria ink cartridges will remain good, when left in the printer for extended periods of time. It also shows that Epson has designed a good method of sealing the print heads very well when in the parked position.

I am extremely impressed with the #99 Claria ink cartridges, and find this Epson 99 Color Multipack to be a great bargain. At the time of this review, this multipack provides all 5 main color cartridges for less than $10 each, here on Amazon.com. To me this is a very good price for such high quality ink. I highly recommend this multipack to anyone who owns or is purchasing an Epson Artisan 700 or 800 model printer. The Artisan series printers are great products (see my review of the Epson Artisan 800 Wireless Photo All-in-One Printer), and this Claria ink, when used with Epson Premium photo paper, is the perfect companion for these amazing printers.』

『For the price of this ink it has cost me about a $1.00 a print for the 4 x 6's. Unless I'm doing something wrong This is Highway robbery. I did try changing preferences but it did not make much of a difference. I love my Hp 626 as far as getting a great printed picture but I just can't believe the cost of the HP 110 cartridge. We just went on a trip and I had a 100 pictures. It took 3.75 cartridges to print all 100.

(Read carefully and you will not regret)
『Many reviews point for 40 prints and less..yes I confess that I was printing 40 or less if I use premium plus papers but not any more.

I bought 16 cartridge since I bought my HP A618 but the last cartridge printed 140 and still I can print photos (I got the warning of low ink in 100)

what I did is changed the setting in the HP Photosmart Essential 3.0 the software to use it to print your photos. these are the changes:

1- After you click at the Simple Print, make sure you choose the correct size not bigger or Full Page. (for me usually 15x10)

2- choose Printer Settings at the top right then confirm your paper size (if you use paper with tab, select it)

3- click at the Advanced printer Settings. then select your paper type (advanced or premium photo papers). select print quality, Best. I use the (best) printer quality because I didn't notice any difference while using Maximum dpi and I think Maximum dpi only good when you print 5x7 but trust me, don't ever use it. stick to (best). it consumes less ink than maximum and the output is amazing.

4- Click at the (Features Tab) at the top left. then at the bottom there is a very bad technology which is (photo fix), always put it OFF. this feature makes your ink finish earlier. Don't use it ever.

before I use the new settings, I decided to buy Canon PIXMA mini320 but it was out of stock so I bought 2 cartridges to print 70 photos. but the first cartridge still usable.

soon I'll use the second cartridge and I'll try to update my review.

for now, use the settings above and I hope you get more printed photos of a single cartridge.


Update 13-6-2008:

now I have used another 2 inks of this..one has printed 48 photos and the second printed 81 photos and still in use.

I got a tip from hp life chat support. they told me to buy the longest expiry date ink which means the ink expire date will last 1 year or 2. I bought an ink that will expire at aug-2009 which I'm still using it until now and another june-2008 which only printed 48.

Paper for 110 ink:
don't ever use premium or premium plus HP papers. they will not dry as long as you live or even water-proof papers. they will consume more ink too. you have 2 other options. Canon paper plus glossy or high-glossy and HP advanced glossy. both are incredible. I got stunning photos when I used them and longer life ink.

Photo quality settings:
if you edit your photos in the PC, don't forget to set the resolution of the photo at 600dpi or 300dpi. to know more about the resolution search the net for (PPI&DPI). once you understand them you will know that you didn't ever get a perfect photo. now when I compare the best photo before this method and after, I realized that I was a stupid who wasted money on papers like premium and lost quality of 400 photos I printed by not setting the resolution of the photo which is the same as the printer.

If you still interested in buying this ink, follow these steps above specially the expiry date of the ink and using HP advanced or canon plus paper. and before you buy new printer like Canon, try doing my way and buy oe last ink before spending money on new printer.

one last thing. don't print photos from sd card. use a software like adobe lightroom to set the exposure, light, the black level, remove noisea and colors.

I have used all kinds of after market products, and no matter what they claim about their quality, they just can't compare to oem. (BAD Backlight Bleed Problem)
『Purchased this monitor at Costco because of great reviews, and it looked great on display in the store. When I plugged it in at home it was immediately noticeable there was white light leaking onto the screen from the top&bottom edges. Tried to ignore it but after watching enough full-screen video it was driving me CRAZY! I took it back to Costco (where they treated me like I was nuts)&exchanged it for another one, which had the same problem but WORSE! On this one, light was bleeding in from all 4 sides. I called Samsung (where they assured me it was an unusual problem) and am now awaiting another exchange, which will take anywhere from 1-2 weeks. Is it that hard to just quality check a product before sending it out?』

『The Samsung T-220 is a fantastic monitor, not only in design and curb-appeal but in performance. No matter what you use it for, the screen will be sharp and crystal clear for text, images, photos and background. I'm using the T-220 for a CCTV system with a DVR and the images from all 5 camera's are perfectly stunning. If your wondering then why I gave the T-220 4 stars instead of 5? It's because for some unknown reason Samsung decided not to make these T-220 monitor's VESA compliant (no mounting holes in rear of monitor) wall mountable. When I contacted Samsung their tech-rep admitted the T-220 were their newest monitor addition and could not understand why the T-220's were not designed to be wall mountable? This is the only flaw I could find, but it could be a major one if you want the monitor mounted on a wall. I had to return one monitor for this specific reason. If your not mounting your monitor to a wall, I would recommend the Samsung T220 to all, it's just a great product.』

『It isn't the design of this LCD that earns merit, although it is a rather timeless looking item and will look smart in any situation. It's the feature set, and there is certainly far more function over form than meets the casual eye!

Pros:

- Can be set to auto detect the exact input source resolution and display the image without any stretching. This is great if you play games that might need 1280 x 1024 or 1680 x 1050. Your treasured vintage game collection will still look splendid!

- Has a great software tool that will set the correct color / contrast / brightness balance. Make sure you run MagicBright after installation - the image is stellar once you have this set.

- Low power consumption - do your bit for Gaia ;-)

- The memory resident tools do not task the CPU.

- Tack sharp display with almost non-existant light bleed at the edges

- Games look superb!

- No dead pixels

- Comfortable viewing size - I find larger displays somewhat taxing on the eyes

- Has a great tool that can divide your display into various logical units - a bit mike having multiple displays - very cool as this makes apps snap into the regions just like extra displays

- Amazing price - 2ms + 20,000:1 contrast ratio + Samsung quality + auto resolution detect + much more!

Cons:

- No height adjustment - but by no means a show-stopper when you bear in mind the spec.

- Tilt only tilts away, not towards you. The assumption is that you will be looking down at the screen up to horizontal, which is ergonomically incorrect. The user should have the option to view at 90 degrees or above to avoid neck strain. I resolved this by buying a sturdy stand so I can have the mid-screen point at eye level ;-)

- No frame color options - just translucent burgundy, which looks blackish most of the time in low light conditions.

- Software installation is confusing. It recommends that you download the latest software. When you click the link, it's very unclear what you need to do. I couldn't see a option for the T220, so I just installed what was on the disk and everything ran fine. 『I own multiple LCD HDTVs. I had been shopping around for a 46 or 47 inch when I found the LN46A750. The contrast ratio is excellent with the black capabilities of the higher end models. Plenty of extras and great sound. You can turn the 120Hz off if desired. If you are looking for a 46 inch full-HD television with 120Hz frame rate, this one is for you! By the way, the red touch-of-color on the cabinet is not a distraction.』

『The picture is just great! This is really the reason I wanted this set. It also has really good sound also. I find myself looking around for noises that are really from the TV. Many features like "contents" are included but I don't think they will be used much.. games, pitures, songs... Many if Samsung releases web updates for it, it may be of more use. The infolink is really a nice feature, but it doesn't diplay all of your pictures or movies. You need to show only a few at a time, delete them, then show more.
The PIP is really a rip off.. It doesn't work unless you have another device with a tuner althought I still haven't got it to work yet. (I have a Digital convertor box and a VCR and it still doesn't see them a tuners) I was suprised that the tv does not get very much information as to what channel ID's are (like WGN, WTTW, ect;) or even what is on. Very few channels have this information. My old CRT TV almost always had information for every channel and for days ahead as well.

Overall, I am happy with it and love the picture quality of the digital stations, but the analog stations look worse than my old CRT TV. You can delete all the analog stations so it skips them, and goes to the digital one instead. (delete 5, and watch 5-1 instead!)』

Delivery was excellent -- nice guy, helped me unpack the tv, put it on the table, check for any damage, get it plugged in, check to be sure it worked. It's a great tv, we love it!
