I'm now a senior, and this printer hasn't given me problems. I've only had to replace the ink twice in the three, almost four years I've had it -- and I'm a journalism major! That means tons of printing, both in color and black/white, and it doesn't guzzle the ink. The size is perfect, too. In a cramped double dorm room, I couldn't afford to give tons of space to something as insignificant as a printer. With this one, I had no problems. It fit right into a corner, and is smaller than some handbags I have.
This printer is also very user-friendly. It alerts you when there is any problem, and any problem is usually simple enough to solve -- load paper, make sure paper isn't jammed, etc. It's not rocket science.
I am actually pleased to know this is Mac-compatible. I have always purchased HP computers, and now I am looking at a Mac Powerbook. I hadn't anticipated the need for a Mac-compatible printer, but this was a welcome discovery.
The only downfall to this printer is the cost of ink. Separate cartridges will run you $17, but the bundle of color and b/w is $35, roughly the cost of the printer.
Overall, this is a great investment, especially if you don't have the need for some high-tech printer; if you need something to print text or basic images, this printer will definitely do the trick. And at this price, even if it doesn't suit your needs to a T, you're not investing so much money that you'd regret it.』
('Out of Paper' Errors) 『I picked this printer because I needed a simple and cheap printer. Realizing that it was cheap, I wasn't expecting or asking for much from it. Yet I got so, so much less.
The most infuriating problem with it is that the paper feed simply does not work correctly. I've attempted to find many workarounds but there is simply no other option than to manually hand feed each page to the printer as it is printing. When I leave a large stack of paper in the tray, the printer constantly alerts me that it is out of paper. Then I have to take a single page and manually push it into the printer for it to accept the page and print it. Repeat X number of times for X pages. It's fun....
Anyway, this experience has completely turned me away from buying HP products. I bought a bottom of the barrel printer and found that a Lexmark bottom of the barrel is vastly superior to HP's bottom of the barrel.』

These printers are said to have a "light weight technology" more like cheap plastic technology to me. The little ring that holds the glass to the metal ring has come loose on occasion, but I just tighten it and the problem goes away for several months. Keep in mind that I'm a professional photojournalist and I use my gear heavily (daily). I keep coming back to this filter because I keep buying new lenses. It works great in fog and dust. It works so well, that when I'm in a situation that I NEED to show the fog or dust, I must take the filter off because the filter cuts through so well. I would also recommend the Skylight filter too.』

My copy seems to be fairly tight and easy to adjust. I use this filter with my Tamron AF 17-35mm F/2.8-4 lens and have no problems that others have mentioned.
I do Wish I could have purchased the Polarizer seperate as I hardly use a UV Haze filter. Haven't used any filter for lens protection for 30 years, and all my lenses are in perfect condition. I kinda like the haze in some landscapes. I may attach one when taking very long shots to cut through some of the haze.
