I would have given the product 5 stars except that the installation instructions for Windows XP are unclear and we encountered problems because we used the CD that came with the unit (CD was for Vista--that little devil of an operating system). Once we figured out that the CD was not necessary for Windows XP all went well. We had excellent technical support from HP in helping us resolve the initial problem. Bought this HP as the third desk side printer in our office when color printing is wanted. We have three of them now and so far, so good.

I had problems with the installation, so called HP Tech Support and was astonished to learn that "they no longer offer free tech support" for this item -- this despite the fact that it was just one day out of the box. Finally was able to get free tech support, but had to email them a copy of the Amazon invoice, and also fax them the same document (no reason given for this seemingly needless duplication.) Faxing them a copy was not very easy, when one does not have either a fax machine or a functioning printer. Then had to wait 48 hours after sending this info, before they would give tech support. Apparently the reason for all this is that this is an "older model" printer (obsolete?) -- a fact not disclosed prior to purchase. Maybe that was the reason for the discounted price, but it was not disclosed in any of the product info prior to purchase. All this made my selection of "two-day shipping" completely irrelevant -- though Amazon did refund 50% of the charge when I complained. Again -- printer is fine -- hassle is frustrating, to say the least.』

(Does NOT work with MP 470) 『I bought the Canon MP 470 and some replacement cartridges from Amazon back in February. The color ink cartridge has just now run out and so I went to replace it. The cartridge that I had purchased was this one (CL-51) because I was trying to find the most economical route. (My old printer was a Dell, and it definitely was an ink guzzler!) From its description, reviews, and other information that I saw on Canon's website, I thought it would work the best for me. It fits into the printer, but my printer can't recognize the cartridge. After worrying that I was doing something wrong or that something was wrong with my computer and frantically going online, I finally read where someone else had made the same mistake that I did. Canon changed the software between the MP 450 and the MP 470 so that the high capacity ink cartridges do not work in the 470. Just make sure that this cartridge really will be compatible with your printer; Amazon and Canon's websites were not clear, in my opinion, and so now I am losing $$ on an ink cartridge that I can not use. I later learned that retail stores sell them uncalibrated so I had to pay geek $400.00 to calibrate all the colors to be the best they can be. If you buy from a non-retail outlet, they're already calibrated.
As for the glossy screen complaints, I can't complain. Any reflection produced is not something that glares at me....I sort of see through it without noticing it.
I feel like I have the Cadillac of LCD TVs, so I bought a 2nd on from Amazon for another room. The colors of HD and non-HD programs are magnificent. Especially the sets of local news programs and game shows like Jeopardy that are broadcast in HD.
You cannot beat the quality for this price.

When you watch standard TV it still looks great. I am amazed at the picture quality. I went to sears and looked at dozens of LCD's nothing came close. I checked the status of the shipment daily, and when I saw it arrived at the local hub, I called the shipping company myself to set up the delivery. The delivery arrived within the scheduled time block, and the gentlemen who brought the TV into my house, did it with "white gloves."
PRODUCT: I am thrilled with the new TV; it's everything the reviews said it was, and set-up was a snap. I'll re-visit this post once I've had it longer, to give further feedback. I was also a bit worried about the "touch of color," being too strong; honestly it's very subtle and not nearly as obvious as the online images make it appear.』

With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience.
If you know the size of the room you have already, where you want to sit, and where your new HDTV should go once you get it, you can figure out the size HDTV you should get.

(Slightly pricey, but worthwhile) 『I have used about 5 of these ink cartridges now for the DiscPainter. It may be a bit pricey since it's specifically for one unit, but the price has come down on amazon once already since it's release last year. I imagine as it catches on (because its a great mid-grade printer), they will become somewhat more inexpensive... hopefully.
In using these I've become good at printing economically. I highly recommend using white discs. The advantage is you can have a good amount of white space, and the disc still looks professional. I use Ridata white hub-printables, and people are really impressed with the quality of the printing.
I have printed over 200 discs on my current cartridge. This has been with some (maybe 20) full color discs and the rest have some white space and just have some text and a few lines of color.
I did a print job where the client wanted the whole disc to be black except some small amounts of white in the design, and I think I made 40 discs with an entire cartridge. The lighter the printing, the more efficient the cost.
