I bought it couple years ago at Office Depot in Florida (then they stopped selling it) and it was perfect for our small office where sometimes you need to print lots of copies (high quality). It handles a lot of copies per month and it prints fast. I moved to Baltimore and ordered it through Amazon after trying several laser printers from Office Depot and Staples. They can't even compare with the Oki.』

It is a little noisy for about a minute or so after it prints but then it quiets down. If I can only get it to go quiet immediately after printing, it would be perfect for me. (Nice printer for the money) 『This printer is relatively quiet and the print quality is excellent for documents and the speed is good. The toner cartridge is easy to replace which is refreshing since my previous printer, a Konica Minolta, gave me a fight every time. Photo printing comes out a bit too dark, though. I have Windows Vista and the software would not autorun but emailed OKI support and they sent good instructions the next business day. I am a graphic designer and had some issues with monitor calibration using the MAC OS monitor calibration application in the past, but I can tell, NO MORE! Our 2 year old Dell UltraSharp LCD monitor shifted after the HueyPro calibration. (The desktop got darker, but photos were lighter? How does that happen?) We opened a couple images we had problems with in the past. And those images came out perfect as the printer's output. Really amazing tool. The 28-lb. weight and ultra-smooth surface give this paper a very professional feel. When compared to regular 20-lb. copy paper, there is no comparison. While the regular copy paper feels somewhat rough, when running your fingers or hand over it, this Hammermill 10246-7 premium paper feels silky smooth. It makes for the perfect surface for a color laser printer or color copier, and greatly reduces the problems associated with paper dust.
I only have two minor complaints with this paper. First of all, Hammermill now claims to have improved this paper, giving it a "100" brightness rating. When I compare it to some HP manufactured 28-lb. laser paper, with only a "98" brightness rating, the HP paper is noticeably brighter. How can this be? 100 should definitely be brighter than 98. Well somehow Hammermill found a way to slip a 100 brightness rating onto a paper that looks to be more like a 96 brightness. I also found, after switching from the comparable HP 28-lb. paper to the Hammermill brand, that I have some spots that the toner doesn't adhere to well. I want to point out, this is usually only on the first page that I print, when the printer has just previously been in power save (sleep) mode. I assume the fuser just doesn't get hot enough for the toner to uniformly bond to the first page. However, I never had this problem with the HP paper, so I feel it could have something to do with the surface properties of the paper itself. Still, I don't blame this issue on Hammermill. This is very good paper, and I got it a couple of bucks cheaper, per ream, than the HP brand.
Overall I am very happy with the Hammermill 10246-7 28-lb. color copier/laser paper, and I highly recommend it. 』

Because of its smooth, no rag content finish, the ink does not absorb into the paper and produces clear, beautiful prints of photos. It is also a great paper for presentation packages. (Great, while it lasted) 『I bought a BJC-85 used last year for taking to court with me. I used it once. I was tickled! Its stayed in my office since then, as I've had to reason to use it. When I did, it kept giving me an error message. I took it out yesterday to try to figure out what was wrong: I get an error about an incorrect cartridge or some such nonsense. It had the canon black cartridge in it. The same one it printed from last time. So I am not a happy camper. I actually tried putting a new cartridge in, with same result. When I can get the cartridge button to actually make it move the cartridge to the middle to have access.』

(A real pain to get it to work) 『I purchased two of these on Ebay just to get one complete working unit. I can't say I'm too pleased with it. It's noisy and does an awful lot of clicking and clacking to start, print a page, or shut down. The error light seems to come on too often, and figuring out what's wrong with it is a real challenge. The cartridge replacement is a hassle and if you're not fast enough the cartridge returns to its home position and won't come back out. The combination of buttons you need to push to get it out again is ridiculous (e.g., one of the steps involves pushing the cartridge button 16 times! No kidding!) The battery dies in a few days even if the printer is turned off; I guess there's some power consumption even when it's off. Besides, it's about twice the size and weight of the BJC-50.
