I bought a subscription to Consumer Reports specifically because I was going to buy a large flat panel TV, I talked to salesman (don't trust any of them), and I checked many of the major websites that do or allow reviews of electronic equipment. Amazon.com,Cnet.com,PCmag.com and a ton of others. I also signed up for many of the HDTV forums that exist for the sole purpose of discussing High Definition and assorted accessories. Let me tell you what I learned from all my weeks of research. The Samsung PN50A650 is a great buy! You will not be disappointed. It has a fantastic picture and received nearly across the board excellent ratings from Consumer Reports. The only area that received a rating below excellent was the TV speakers and even that received a "very good" rating. I have done the research on this TV so now you don't have to! If you want a fantastic TV at a great price you can not get any better than the Samsung PN50A650 in my opinion.』
(Simply WOW!!) 『I purchased a Samsung 650 Plasma and was amazed.. Understand, I didn't trust the internet purchase and was not sure if this was really the product I wanted. (LCD vs Plasma) No doubt the right decision. Process was safe with Amazon and the delivery Company was great.. The delivery company called to confirm the delivery, respectfully conversed with us, and pulled the TV out of the box, placed it on the table and showed me it was working as planned. Asked if I wanted the box or they would hold it for me. More about the the 650. Did I say WOW... I just wanted a tv I would be happy with and not regret my decision. LCD vs Plasma.. Tough decision. My co worker does this for a living and talked me out of a LCD ..Great move..Distance from the TV is 8- 18 feet. Love watching Football and Hockey. Great angle viewing and glare is not there. (I get alot of sunlight in the room) Sound is of good quality. Bottom line, we all want a quality product and a good price. With the money I saved, I bought cables, wall mount and a power washer and still saved money compared to Best buy.. You will be happy with this decision!!!!』
(Beautifull TV) 『I have now had a month to view this TV and I must say I have no complaints. First, the delivery was flawless. The shipping company was on time, unpacked the TV, placed it on my stand and even took away the packaging. The viewing experience has to be experienced to be believed. I have an extensive DVD collection and also a smaller Blu Ray collection so I tried a good sample of both to get a feel for the quality of the display. The Blu Ray disks are absolutely gorgeous. The Blue Planet disk showed the blue color as well as my old Sony. I always thought that Sony did the best job with color accuracy especially the blues but I must say this set matched Sony if not exceeded it.
I am very pleased with this plasma especially considering the reasonable price.

(Amazing tv) 『Ive had this tv for a couple of weeks now and I am extremly satisfied. The color is amazing, and the blacks are deep and rich. And for the price you wont find anything comparable. I did a lot of research before this purchase and everything I read pointed me towards this tv. CNET.com is a great site to do your research on. If your concerned about the red tint on the border of the tv, dont be. It doesnt light up or anything (I thought it did) and it is hardly noticeable. Dont let that sway you one way or another. The price on amazon is, as usual one of the cheapest around. There was one other site that was less expensive but I never dealt with that web site before and shipping was extra. When I purchased this tv from amazon it was only about [...]bucks more and the shipping was included. Also the shipping was white glove into my living room and actually arrived a day earlier then they promised! They did call me ahead of time to make sure it was okay they delivered early and of course I said yes. 5 Star product, with 5 star delivery. If you want more information on the performance of the tv I'd advise you to check out cnet.com and do a search for the pn50a650. They also have a comparison between the Samsung and the Panasonic. Samsung wins by a mile. (I love these) 『I have been looking for these as they were the last blanks I had that worked well in my cd player. Not to say they work any better than other high quality cd-r's only that I cheaped out and bought a big pack of maxell discs and they don't work. I've thrown out at least half of the discs I've tried to use.
These discs are great, and the colors are so nifty. It's not just a colored label, the entire CD is the color. They're lovely. Great for gifts, especially for people who like shiny things.』
(Not worth the time and hassle) 『Yeah the colors are beautiful, but the problem is that most (80% at least) of the colors don't work in CD burners. I could only get the yellow and the black to work in my CD burner, the rest of them I had to throw away because the burner didn't even recognize them as blank CDs.
I have one of the newer, top of the line burners that is supposed to burn information on just about anything. Well, it wouldn't burn on these pieces of crap.

IPhone 3G used's review (It works!!!!) 『As a chronic insomniac, I've been on a long search for the perfect booklight. This may not be it, but it comes pretty damn close. The light is bright -- even using only one bulb -- so I can read without constantly moving the light. The battery use is negligible, I'm still using the factory issued bulbs after three weeks, so I don't have to fuss with a converter and cord. The clip is generous and the neck very flexible. This is the first light of its type that I can clip to the headboard of my bed and it illuminates a whole page book that's lying next to my pillow (I like to read lying on my side). I can't speak to it's long term survival; but for now, I'm a happy customer.』

(Delivers in spades, a mighty good led light!) 『Having purchased an LED reading light a few years ago that was passable but failed recently I was on the lookout for a replacement. I must concur with the reviewers here who gave it five stars.
The six important characteristics of a good reading light are in my opinion:
1. Strength of light - Excellent, even at lower power setting quite adequate. 2. Uniformity of light - At last, a product that delivers. No more hot spots or dark shadows to contend with. 3. Flexible head - Well done, neck design is very poseable. 4. Stable base - Nothing more annoying than a reading light that topples with the slightest nudge. This one is quite stable without being overly heavy. 5. Strong attachment mechanism - Good clip design that doesn't fall off easily, my old light was challenged and often fell off. 6. Battery life. 40 hours or thereabouts, enough for me to read six or seven good books.
Lest I be accused of fawning over a product I point out that the switch for on/off and output level might be better placed on the base. Trivial perhaps and doing so may make it prone to accidental movement or add to the cost.

I'm the one with the customer image of the crazy "monitor" setup... I've had this TV for about a month, use it quite a bit every day. Every day I'm changing between source inputs... I use this Samsung for TV (not much), some movie watching (DVDs), a lot of xbox 360 and quite a bit as the secondary monitor on a dual computer monitor setup.
I'm quite happy with this purchase. The clarity is awesome, and the glossiness of the screen is just right for me ~ it's not totally "matte", I'd call it semi-gloss. The contrast is excellent, colors vibrant, and I would highly recommend this TV for any of the purposes I currently use it for (TV, movies, video games, computer monitor).
As for the "touch of color"... I'm actually not sure what that means for my set... I don't see any red or any other color for that matter.
The 120Hz is... interesting. I think it really helps TV and movies. I can't quite explain it... it's almost like it's so fluid that it just looks abnormal, I don't know. Some people say they don't like it, or it makes the video footage look like poorer quality... but I actually like it and use it except for fast paced video games (when every millisecond of video processing delay counts). You can adjust how much of the 120Hz processing you want, including turning it off.
I bought straight from Amazon and the delivery was extremely quick and painless. Overall I couldn't be happier with this purchase.』

(Samsung Rocks) 『I bought this tv about 2 weeks ago through Amazon.com. Got free shipping with it. The shipping company was a bit late in delivering it to me as they did not have my phone number and the agent who took my call got confused about the time zone. A freight company that gets confused about time zones is not good! However the TV did finally get to me in perfect condition. The delivery folks do not unpack it for you, but if you get "white glove" delivery apparently they do that and set it up for you. I chose the 630 model as the face of the tv is non reflective--a big difference when you watch tv in the daytime or at night with some lights on. Picture quality is excellent, set up was very easy. I bought a Bello TV stand ( ON amazonBell'O PVS-4218HG Flat Panel Audio Video System (Gloss Black $216))and it is the PERFECT stand for it, I connected my new PS3 to it via an HDMI cable I also bought on Amazon (Cables To Go - 40315 - 2M (6.5ft) Velocity HDMI Digital Video Cable (Blue) $9.99!! )and the games AND blu ray movies are simply amazing. I've heard that the PS3 also up-converts regular DVDs, not sure if true or fable, but they look fantastic as well. Very happy with purchase and overall service!

(Trick to research) 『Just bought this television from Amazon after months of research and visits to the typical retailers. With the western sun beating into my house I decided the matte finish was the way to go. While doing picture comparisons with the Sony KDL-52W4100 and the Samsung LNa52650 in Circuit City I noticed the 630 looked kind of dull. A nice salesperson saw the same thing and changed the 630 picture from "standard" to "dynamic". The other two sets had been set this way and looked much more "vivid". Holy cow. It made all the difference. I purchased the 630 that night.』
(My Researched Choice) 『I reviewed and studied this whole flatscreen tv jungle for over a year and this was the TV I chose. I am obsessive over buying the BEST for what I can afford. So, first I researched the difference between plasma and LCD. Down to the end I just had to choose LCD though if the price was right I would have taken a Pioneer Kuro Elite plasma. That was a big hurdle but allowed me to focus on brand, quality and price. Brand came down to Sony, Samsung and Panasonic. I wasn't going to go with Samsung until I came across the 630 for the one defining feature... the matte screen. All other Samsungs have the "Plasma shiny screen" which is AWESOME if your family room is a movie theater, but I have windows and therefore pointless and actually hurts the quality of your picture. I then saw the 630 (which only came out like in late July or August), which is essentially the 650 with the matte screen and one less HDMI outlet and a few hundred bucks cheaper. No brainer. My mind was made. I've owned it since early October and haven't looked back. Love my purchase and I got a great deal for a little over $1900. At the price I see it now on Amazon (just under 1900), I think it's an EXCELLENT deal.

I like its compact size and quietness, and find the operating speed close to that of the 1650. The software is ok, and scanner operation is as convenient as that of the 1650, but there is less flexibility to allow altering color satuation, hue, etc. I found image sharpness disappointingly soft, and color saturation less than that of the original photo being copied. The overall effect is a somewhat faded, hazy image. Tried downloading and installing a fresh driver, but that didn't change this characteristic. After selecting USE SCANNER DRIVER on the operating panel, I was able to make selections that improved the image quality somewhat, but it is still not up to the performance of my previous scanner. Turning off the softening mask makes very little improvement. For me this scanner does not live up to previous glowing user reviews that helped decide this purchase.』
(Great scanner for generic everyday jobs) 『I needed a scanner to scan an occasional document, receipt, or magazine page. Image quality needed to be decent and other than that I wanted a device that just did the job and didn't need a lot of hand-holding.
So far I'm satisfied to impressed. Take it out of the box, plug in the USB cable (big plus it doesn't add yet another power adapter to my setup), Windows Vista automatically detects and installs the driver and you're ready to go. I didn't even look at the software CD which comes with the scanner for the first week. The OS integrated driver is sufficient for the generic scans.
It's nice and small and lightweight, has a small locking slider for the lid on the bottom. So when I'm not scanning I simply unplug the USB port and it's easily stored on the shelf and not taking up valuable space.
The scan speed and image quality is good enough for my needs. I'm sure some folks may have a more detailed critique, but that wasn't what I'm looking for.
After eventually installing the software that came with it, the copy button on the front works fine. Push it and the software will scan and then send the result to the printer. Not a high volume copying solution, but if one makes a copy at home once in a blue moon and hates the trip to Kinko's this fits in well.
So if you're looking for a simple and reasonably priced scanning solution for occasional work, this is a great choice.』

Despite being very happy with my HP Officejet 7310, the ink has turned out to be a painful expense. In the past six months, I have gone through three of these cartridges. I hate to single HP out, but the entire inkjet industry is guilty of fighting price transparency with inexpensive printers and inflated ink. This is not to mention the constant changing of ink cartridges models. Does HP really need 200 different models of ink cartridges? No. It would, in fact, be much cheaper to consolidate the cartridge offerings. However, this would lead to easy duplication and remanufacturing by third parties.
What is particularly amusing, and perhaps offensive to some, is the enclosed "recycling" envelope that comes with new HP ink cartridges. This prepaid envelope, with the empty cartridge, goes back to HP so that it can demonstrate its environmental leadership. Of course, HP doesn't want the empty cartridges to go back into the hands of companies that refill and remanufacture them. Although I haven't done the calculations, I would assume the transportation and handling costs would actually do more harm than good to the environment. My suggestion is to fill the prepaid envelope with torn up remains of the consumer packaging that comes with the cartridges. 』
