Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (Disappointed ....) 『HMMMMM.....I went back after reading my book to look at why the other reviewers recommended this book so highly. I was quite diappointed to discover: 1) They are all from NY 2) Two have only reviewed one book (this one) and the other two have multiple books from Dr. Diamond on their review list. It isn't that the book is totally valueless, it just does not warrant the solid 4 star reviews it is receiving. (At this juncture I can only assume they are less than unbiased.) I always look at the reviews a book is receiving and it appears that I need to increase my scrutiny when there are not a lot of reviews to read over.』
(Practical healing.) 『Hardcover and bound so as to stay open, The Diamond Color Meditation is a perfect travel companion, great for train rides or during lunch break at work. I find that I feel more focused and deal better with such stresses as electronic bookkeeping with the aid of this easy-to-use tool.
This is one book I can re-read and never get tired of. Well done Dr. Diamond.』
(Use it Daily) 『I've had this for a month now and use it daily. I find it quickly and simply gets me to a place where I feel the meditation is working to get insights I haven't accessed before. I read a review of it on merliannews.com: "...the author has designed this system to overcome the anguish and bring about deep healing....You may feel an immediate shift in the first reading/meditation, or a sense of the old wounds loosening and softening. If you continue for several days, more good effects continue to roll in - the colors are by turns soothing, energizing and healing." That convinced me to work with the book and I think it is simply fantastic!』
(A Revolutionary Approach to Meditation) 『The Diamond Color Meditation is a revolutionary approach to meditation by one of the world's great pioneers of holoistic medicine. It is deceptively simple, so much so that I believe most anyone could do it and benefit. It certainly does not require any previous experience of meditation and, indeed, is very different from the usual "passive" Eastern-derived approach. More important, the benefits are immediate, long-lasting and profound.
The reason for this is that the Meditation goes the heart of our life problems by helping to alleviate what Dr. Diamond terms our existential anguish, the root cause of all human suffering and disease, both physical and mental. The result is our Life Energy is raised at the deepest level.
I cannot stress enough the brilliant simplicity of the approach and its effectiveness. Doing the Meditation on a daily basis helps my entire day, enhancing my creativity, relationships and general functioning. I understand that it is the fruit of years of research and is yet another example of the astounding originality, insight, and therapeutic efficacy of Dr. Diamond's work. I strongly recommend it to everyone.』
(Strongly Recommended) 『This is a truly remarkable book. Dr. Diamond presents original insights and a philosophy that is inspiring. The meditation itself is a beautiful experience-one I look forward to using regularly throughout the years to come! I am already experiencing tremendous positive benefits from this book.』 『The Diamond Color Meditationpresents an inspiring use of color in a therapeutic meditation designed for deep personal growth and healing. This book goes far beyond traditional color therapies and introduces a new and original concept in using color for healing. Includes:
-complete meditation guide -14 full-color meditation plates, -chart of specific meditation colors with their corresponding herbs, homeopathic remedies, and acupuncture points

It was very basic at showing the color correction tools which is exactly what I was looking for. The explanations were short and concise which is what I like. I realise that everyone has their own color correction tricks which have to be developed in time, so I wasn't after that. I feel the book is very useful for those trying to make use of color correction tools.』
(I Feel Robbed) 『I just paid over forty bucks for a piece of trash. I can't believe this book is recommended everywhere as an essential cc tool for the video editor. This book doesn't have any worthwhile tutorials and the CD that comes with it is a joke. If you have any basic knowledge of video editing, you will not learn anything new. I was looking for a book that could provide any technique of color correction to achieve different styles and moods but this doesn't even come close to touching these subjects in depth. I just this to be a waste of money and time. Do not buy this book.』 『Today's non-linear editing systems are equipped with a wide range of color correction tools that were previously only available in dedicated color correction suites. This book shows video editors how to take full advantage of their power. Clear, step-by-step instructions are included for Avid XPress DV, Avid Symphony, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, and more. Beyond that, you'll learn the importance of "selling" the color correction you've achieved to clients, while making sure the client realizes the impact color correction gives the final product.
In addition to non-linear editing systems, there are now many plug-in applications for color correction. These plug-ins, including ColorFix, Composite Suite Color Correct, Vixen Pro, and Color Finesse, are covered in detail. IPhone 3G used's review (Learn to see color) 『This book describes a method for seeing color that you may never have known was there. If you are an artist working in any medium and are thirsty for more information on playing with color and light, you'll find this to be an informative, inspiring, and valuable book.』
(See to Paint, Paint to See!) 『Using Susan Sarback's book Capturing Radiant Color in Oils is a wonderful experience. After completing just two of the exercises I am seeing colors in a new way. I am convinced that my brain is making millions of new connections among my color perception neurons. It is about improving your seeing and painting together, they are inseparable. Lois Griffel's Painting the Impressionist Landscape is a good complement to this book as it covers much of the same material with a slightly different approach.』
(Capturing Radiant Color in Oils) 『I have always been intrigued with light and color. As an artist, I wanted to capture the ethereal quality of light, but the color theories, recipes, methods and techniques taught by noted painters just didn't express the radiance and range of light and color that I believed was possible. When I found Susan Sarback's book over four years ago, I knew I had reached a turning point as an artist. Her message is not about imaginary color, or formulas, or emotional expression. It is about attuning oneself to the full spectrum of light and color that is always present but is usually overlooked. After pouring through the chapters, examining the painting studies and practicing the seeing exercises, I felt that I had finally found the key to unlocking the secrets of luminous color and light that only Monet seemed to possess. For me, finding her book was like having an incredible dream and then discovering that the dream is true!
Sarback expresses a wonderful humility that is sometimes lacking in painting instructors. Rather than offering clever methods to contrive bright, pretty paintings, she suggests artists enter a relaxed state of sensitivity and openness, to let the light be the guide to each stroke of color. She discusses color notes and light keys, phrases that suggest the similarity between the subtleties of light and the harmonies of music. She shows us how to see the full spectrum of radiant light on the cloudiest of days, and how to see and paint the awesome color of something as mundane as a manhole cover.
The book is filled with wonderful paintings by Sarback and other artists who paint the full spectrum of light. There is also plenty of practical information, such as palette layout and choice of pigments. There is no need for black, grays or brown! She gives credit to her teachers and other great colorists, past and present, but her approach to light and color is fresh and alive, anything but dogmatic. Even now, after taking three workshops and several classes with her, I study this book more than ever. It has become my most essential tool as an artist. If you truly want to see and express light, with all its radiant color and subtlety, this is probably the best book available. Many write about painting light and color, but Susan Sarback has the sensitivity and humility to really teach it.』
(An Art Book- Incredible "Change Your Life" Experience? YES!) 『This wonderful book changed how I look at the world around me. I am not a great artist, but I love to be creative and this book gave me a whole new experience on how to see color and shade in nature which helped me find that I could paint. This book also somehow changed how I feel about the world around me. Have you ever noticed what color 'shade' really is? Grey. Nope, go look again. Then read this book and look again. I see so much more depth and beautiful colors in Asphalt. Yea, asphalt! Sounds strange but it is a must read for everyone.』
(Susan teaches you how to both paint&see in new ways.) 『This book opened my visual world up in many ways. It's well written, easy and fun to read. I now can see colors I never knew existed in certain places. I got so much out of it, and hope to take one of her workshops in the future.』

Lots of ideas for working with color combinations, but also just plain lots of great ideas for some fun scrapbook layouts. A good book to reference back to often.』 『

Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (A Must Read for Preschool and Elementary School Teachers) 『Webster's dictionary gives "colorblind" two definitions: one, the ability to see only black, white and shades of gray, and two, the inability to distinguish one or more colors. In Arlene Evans's book, "Color is in the Eye of the Beholder", we learn that many people use the word "colorblind" incorrectly. Most people are not "blind" to color, but simply don't see as wide a range of colors. The word we should be using to describe this is DVD or Color Vision Deficiency.
One of the stories shared in this wonderful, small book is about a mother who learns about her son's moderate CVD and exclaims, "My husband was so frustrated this morning because he tried to teach colors to our son!" Now she and her husband knew why the small boy was unable to distinguish some of his colors. Ms. Evans goes on to explain the best colors for classroom activities, the different ways CVD is caused (acquired versus genetics) and much more.
This book, written for adults, is a good companion to "Seeing Color: It's My Rainbow, Too" which could be easily shared with children. There is an excellent glossary, bibliography and index in the back. This book belongs in the personal library of every elementary school nurse and teacher.』 『If your life were without color or with reduced color vision, in what ways would it be different? You'll explore the possibilities in this highly informative, user-friendly and practical guide.
Color is in the Eye of the Beholder explores life with little color, a common genetic disorder affecting approximately eight-ten percent of people worldwide.
From learning color names to selecting appropriate occupations, Color is in the Eye of the Beholder covers all facets of color vision deficiency (CVD), or colorblindness, including:
*Differentiating between CVD and colorblindness *Learning about color *Adapting to a color-coded world *Understanding inherited and acquired color vision deficiency and colorblindness *Negotiating the working world *Identifying and treating CVD』
IPhone 3G used's review (Those were the days...) 『There is a story told, of a poor Italian man who lived in a small house with dirt floors. His only true possession was a painting that has been handed down through his family. He hung it over his fireplace. Well, rumors spread and a investigating Art Historian found that the painting was a lost Bottichelli , valued at several million dollars. After the discovery was made public, the man was forced to sell the painting as he could not afford security or insurance for it. This painting that was once appreciated for its beauty was now appreciated for its large price tag.
The point of this, and there is one, is that comics were once valueless pieces of old paper. People loved them anyways, and loved them enough to write this little book. "All in Color for a Dime" has a secret that modern comic collectors may have lost. It exudes joy for the four-color wonders know as comics. There is so much excitement in recounting the lost but not forgotten Captain Marvel, or even gaining new found respect for Popeye. All those little treasures are recounted in personal stories. Comics for the love of it, and not for the price tag. Reading Golden Age comics for the stories, what a great concept!
However, as a modern comics collector, I seem unable to ignore price tags entirely. I must admit I chucked when one of the writers was astounded to learn that a mint Action Comics #1 could be sold for up to $300.00. Those were the days.』
(A Classic.......) 『This is a classic reprint. Authentic information from when comics were real.』
(Highly recommended) 『I read this book four times when I was in junior high and high school, and I'm so glad to see it in print again. Great history, great pictures, and must have for comic book fans everywhere.』
(A great look at the Golden Age of Comics.) 『This book by Lupoff and Thompson is a pioneering work. Books on comics used to focus on daily strips and almost always glossed over comic books entirely. This was the first to give us the background of the artists, writers, and the charecters themselves. Well worth the money.』
