I tried and tried to make it fit, and though I was able to finally get my mat in the bag, the bag would not zip. The color of the bag in the picture is a little misleading, as well. I'd read other reviews that noted this, but thought "Oh, it'll be fine". The color is not really tan, or khaki, as it appears in the picture... it's more of a peach. It looks like the flesh colored crayon in a box of Crayola's. Not an ugly color, just not how it appears online. I could have dealt with it if my mat had fit. Needless to say, I returned the bag. I will say again, though, if your bag is not as thick as mine, this bag is very nice for the price. Put together well, helps the environment by being made out of recycled materials, has a nice strap and is stylish enough.』

Wrestling with the bag after a good yoga session could have undone all the peace and comfort I had just gained. I'm a tall guy and often need to reposition myself on other yoga mats so I don't keep slipping off the edge. One good thing to be said about the 80 inch Hugger Mugger is that I never have any problems running out of room, although I do feel a little silly rolling it out on the floor. It just keeps rolling and rolling...
When I received it I immediately washed it with lavender-scented soap, and that seemed to take care of the odor and help improve tackiness. The material is very thin, though, and started shredding as soon as I tested it with my first down dog. The thin material does work well for storage, however. Despite its extreme length, it still rolls up nicely and is easy to tote.
Judging from how thin it is and how easily it tears, I don't expect this mat to last very long. But like I said, I didn't expect much for the low price tag.』

(Why pay more?) 『I started a stretching class at my local gym 3 months ago. The mat supplied for the class were too thick and to short. Also, I knew for a fact that they were cleaned during the day but not after each class. Yes, I was ready to buy my first mat. I really like the fact that it's longer and 1/4 inch thick. I think it is perfect! I've noticed the smell but it fades away after a couple of days (just keep it unrolled for a couple of days). Honestly, I don't see how a more expensive mat will improve my confort or ... flexibility.

(Great mat) 『I was torn between this lighter version and the heavier version. I am very pleased with my final choice of the lighter Manduka mat. It is wide enough and thick enough in comparison to your average mat without being too heavy to tote to the gym. It was delivered extremely fast so fast that I checked to make sure I didn't order expedited delivery! Yes, it was VERY stinky and a little slick. I tried washing it in the house but it wasn't helping with the smell. My solution was to leave it outside for about 2 weeks on my porch table. Our winters are mild so it wasn't getting too cold or getting too much sun. I would flip it periodically and wipe it down. We had a few rainy nights that was just perfect to get rid of the residue. After 2 weeks, the smell was gone. I tried once to use it sooner and it was an hour of torture - way too stinky to use. I prefer to use the bottom side of the mat - it has a better grip with the little circles on my hands. I haven't had any problems slipping until just recently when I had an instructor who insisted the room temperature be at about 100!!! I was sweating enough to slip for the first time ever. I had a thin hand towel with me that I placed on the mat under my hands. It was the perfect solution and no more slipping!』

(Good, sticky) 『I bought this to sit on in front of my desk because I didn't want to sit in an office chair and ruin my back anymore. It suits my purpose really well. It was really tough pumping this thing up with the provided pump, it took forever. The only significant complaint I have is that I have hardwood floors and a cat. The ball is sticky and it picks up EVERYTHING that is not attached to the floor, including cat hair, lint, dust, dirt, whatever. My wife is a neat freak so it isn't that we aren't sweeping and mopping all the time. I tried cleaning the ball in the bathtub with floor cleaner but it didn't help much. Maybe some goo be gone or WD40 will work but I haven't got around to buying any yet.』

I bought another one from a different website (barefootyoga, in Amethyst) and they compare very well(except for one area, see below). There is a slight 'eww gross' smell when you first unroll it, but I didn't notice it anymore after about 3 uses. Some people have complained about it 'not being sticky' enough, but sticky mats by nature become stickier the more you use them.
My only beef was due to the coloration in the one I recieved. I love the stripey pattern, but mine was much more subtle than the picture shows. In fact when I first got it and it was still rolled up in the plastic I thought it was all one color. Only when I unrolled it did I see there was some stripy-ness to it. But it almost looks accidental as its much fainter and not uniform. I'll have to post a picture so other people can see some variation on what they may recieve. In contrast my other mat from the other website, matches the patterns shown to a T and is striped throughout rather than in patches.
But overall, its still a nice looking and usefull mat. I bought it to use in cold winter months when I need some 'warming aesthetics', lol. I will be buying more as I like a variety of colors.』
(Nice BUT....) 『I love the color and the quality seems nice on this yoga mat. My only issue with it is that it tends to get slippery upon sweating. My MAIN reason for purchasing a yoga mat was because the mat I was using (just an old used exercise mat but thick!), was due to a tendon injury from slipping during a pose. I researched these TO DEATH before I finally decided on this one based on the good reviews and the price. If anyone claims that this mat doesn't get slippery when sweating they're not sweating! Perhaps over time it will somehow get..."worked in"...and the slippery factor isn't HORRIBLE but it's a factor I was so trying to remedy in this purchase.... It IS soft, and colorful and seems sturdy although I found it to gather up at times during transitions from poses like downward dog into upward dog....and the like. It's not a BAD mat but I was expecting something more tactile and less smooth.』

The Hugger Mugger mat's colors are part of the material (not just a print on top), and it feels substantial while also providing a great surface for holding poses.
