I was a bit hesitant about buying foam. I was afraid it wouldn't be sturdy enough. After all, you can be putting a lot of weight on it. I was afraid I would squish the block. But these were less expensive than wood; that was the dealbreaker. And sure enough, they have held up. I never have bought any wood blocks because I don't really need them.
I can't give them 5 stars even though I love them. For durability, I'd give 10 stars if I could. But these are SO lightweight, they sometimes don't provide quite enough stability. I do recommend them, unless you have difficulty maintaining your balance.』

I got the bag to match my yoga mat and also chose this design based on another review that said the dark color attracts and shows lint too easily and is hard to clean.
I've had this bag for a while now and I've noticed no lint (I assume due to the color).
Another reviewer complained that the block pocket wasn't large enough to store his/her block, however my block fits in it perfectly. Granted, it's snug...the pocket entrance is elastic, but it's designed that way to ensure the block doesn't fall out. The extra pocket is designed for keys, however my keys don't fit in it. If you have a single, solitary key it would work, but not if your keychain has several keys and grocery store cards attached to it. That is a non-issue for me, so it still gets 5 stars from me.』

I find the standard length and width o.k. for my practice, but some might want to purchase one of the larger ones offered. (a great mat!) 『I've been practicing yoga for almost a year now. Before this one, I had a cheapo mat that I bought at Wal-mart. It just wasn't sticky enough for me. So, after a little research - I'm not ready to throw down $89 for one of those fancy real rubber mats - I decided on the Hugger Mugger. So far, I like it a lot. It didn't smell bad out of the box, it's light, thick enough to support you (although I do need to use a towel under my knees in some postures), and it's a lot stickier than my last mat. I will say that I do still slide on it, usually towards the end when we're good and warm, but I am waiting to see if that is just because it is new. I've probably used it about a dozen times already and although it hasn't improved much (stickiness-wise), I haven't had a chance to give it a good cleaning with soap and water either. Usually I just throw a towel down under my hands when I start sliding. Bottom line, it feels good - not too hard, not too soft, it looks great, doesn't smell, but my hands do slide a bit in downward dog. I would recommend this mat overall.』

I get cramps in my toes, especially when I swim. I thought these might help, but so far, I'm still getting cramps. But..., maybe if I used them all of the time I might never have the cramps. But..., it's very difficult to get my toes into these things. I have short flintstone toes which aren't long enough to stretch far enough apart to easily fit into the yoga toes. Additionally, my toes are kind of fat so they don't easily fit into the holes on the yoga toes. In fact, the process of even putting my toes into these is a deterrent in itself. If you are buying these for the reason that they're advertised, then they'll probably help you. (Good yoga block) 『The outer layer of this yoga block feels soft but it's solid. 4x6x9 is a good size. I think it's better than 3x5x9.』
(Beveled Edges) 『If you are trying to decide between a wood or foam yoga block, I can highly recommend the foam blocks with beveled edges because they are very comfortable.
When you are pressing on the blocks, they are firm enough to withstand your body weight, but not overly firm so they make your hands hurt from the pressure.
Blocks tend to encourage proper form because they allow you to slowly work into poses and provide the needed support when you can't reach the floor in a pose. The lightweight blocks are easy to move from side to side and they can work as an extension of your arm.
There are many ways you can use these blocks and once I started to do the Yoga Step By step workouts/yoga practice sessions, I found I really did need to buy softer yoga blocks to try some of the more advanced positions.

(Ease the difficulty) 『I don't write many reviews but I am making an exception for this item. I am in my early 50's and I like to challenge myself while staying safe. I bought this unit a little over a year ago and am still using it. This stand is relatively small, sturdy and well padded. I was amazed how the headstand, a yoga pose that was relatively difficult and challenging, for me, was made so much easier with this prop. For me, the need for a mirror was crucial in the beginning to verify true verticality and not my perception of it. It takes me about three minutes to set it up and the same to fold and put away. The padding is great for holding the pose in comfort. I bought my stand for $50 with free shipping from this website and thought it was a good deal until I read Eduardo Nietzsche's review indicating an even cheaper one. More importantly, instead of adding my review right away, I decided to try the headstand before going to bed. Although, I have no trouble falling or staying asleep, I benefited from this suggestion and am grateful for it. Perhaps the muscles tensing to hold the pose is enough to induce consequent relaxation leading to an even faster and deeper sleep. In conclusion, it you are going to make this stand part of your regular exercise program, it is a good item and I hope that you will enjoy it!
