Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (Six volumes later... this is still the best!) 『A few years back when I first got this set, I remember revelling once again in what network television had taken away from me. I was thrilled to own some of my favorite Looney Tunes cartoons.
I did notice, however, the disproportionate number of Chuck Jones cartoons, with just a few Friz Freleng, Bob Clampett, and Bob McKimson shorts in the mix. Unless subtitled "The Best of Chuck Jones," it really should have featured several shorts from each major director (including Tex Avery and Frank Tashlin).
But now I see that what this set lacks for in variety of style, it makes up in variety of characters. This was the mold that shouldn't have been broken. Disc 1 is dedicated to Bugs Bunny, disc 2 features Daffy and Porky, and discs 3 and 4 present a nice mix of all the major characters, plus a few minor ones. The only mistake was adding several more Bugs cartoons to discs 3 and 4. This may account for the disappearing rabbit effect on the later volumes.
These cartoons may not encompass the cream of the crop, but I do know that there are more laughs per short in this set than in any subsequent volume. So the bottomline is this: if you only want to purchase one Looney Tunes Golden Collection, this is the one to get. (But do yourself a favor and invest some cash in volume two, also!)』
(The Best One) 『This is the best of the volumes of Looney Tunes so far. It has great Bugs Bunny cartoons, the best Daffy cartoons ever, and a sampling of most of the characters. No other set has included a Taz episode yet, this one gives you Foghorn Leghorn, Tweety/Sylvester, Road Runner, Marvin the Martian- everything and one you could want.
The other sets are all great too, but have more specialty cartoons and discs- any of these 4 discs you can put in and watch all the way through. If you can only afford one or only want one, buy this set.』
(no menu) 『the Looney Tunes CD's are excellent in terms of content, but they have one extremely annoying problem: there is no way to either view or choose from amongst all the cartoons on each disk using the typical DVD "scene selection" method, so you have to watch them all sequentially rather than being able to jump between favorites.
I have never used a DVD where you cannot view a "scene" menu to pick what scene in a film you want to watch and this standard feature seems even more important on a disk where each scene is it's own self contained unrelated cartoon, why was this feature left off these disks?
This is really unacceptable for an expensive product like this.
』
(Looney Tunes - Golden Collection, Volume One) 『I was very pleased with this collection! It has several of my favorite episodes. I have been a Looney Tunes fan all my life.』
(Memories) 『Great cartoons. I watch them with my son and it reminds me of when I was a kid and watching Saturday morning cartoons with my Dad. Much better than the violent cartoons out there today. And my son loves it』 『They're the crown princes of animation. They're the international ambassadors of cartoon comedy. They're the fabulously funny friends you grew up with! And now, 56 of the very best animated shorts starring the very wackiest Warner Bros. cartoon characters have been rounded up on DVD for the first time ever in The Looney Tunes Golden Collection! Just barely contained in four special edition discs, each specially selected short has been brilliantly restored and re-mastered to its original, uncut, anvil-dropping, laughter-inducing glory! Featuring some of the very earliest, ground-breaking on-screen appearances of many all-time Looney Tunes favorites, it's an unprecedented celebration for cartoon-lovers eager to re-live the heady, hilarious, golden age of Warner Bros. animation! Sparkling with one unforgettable, landmark animated marvel after another, there's that icon of carrot-crunching aplomb, Bugs Bunny, in a dazzling assortment of his very best classic shorts. Also highlighted in their own delightfully zany series of cartoon gems: the ever-flustered Daffy Duck and eternal straight-man Porky Pig. Plus, all the rest of the beloved Looney Tunes lineup starring in some of the most wildly imaginative cartoon shorts ever created! Including an array of exclusive bonus DVD features from expert commentaries to insights into the evolution of these classic characters, this is the ultimate animated experience for anyone who's ever thrilled to the timeless query: "Ehhh? what's up, Doc?"』 『For years, animation buffs have waited impatiently for the Warner Bros. cartoons to appear on DVD. The Warner shorts never commanded the budgets and prestige of the Disney and MGM films, and won fewer Oscars than they deserved. But decades after the best ones were created, they remain the quintessential Hollywood cartoons: brash, fast-paced, aggressively funny and uniquely American. Virtually everyone in the U.S. under the age of 60 grew up on these films, in theaters and on TV. The 56 cartoons in the set (out of a studio output of over 1,000) were transferred from good prints--which means the viewer can see dust, scratches, and occasional mistakes by the cel painters. The films are all presented uncut, in defiance of the killjoys who have insisted on censoring alleged "violence" in the versions shown on television. Warner Bros. is obviously testing consumer response with this set. Although the erratic selection includes many classics, purists will argue (correctly) that it offers neither a fair representation of the directors'oeuvres, nor anything approaching a coherent history of the characters or studio style. (Nearly half the films were directed by Chuck Jones; only three are by Bob Clampett, and there's nothing by Tex Avery or Frank Tashlin.) But it seems petty to carp about omissions and biases when the discs offer excellent, uncensored prints of some of the funniest films ever made in the U.S.--or anywhere else. It's one of the best "A Christmas Carol"'s I have seen. It always puts me in the Christmas spirit. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Christmas movies. It's a perfect movie to watch over Thanksgiving weekend to get yourself in the spirit.』
(A wonderful version of a classic.) 『Patrick Stewart is masterful as Scrooge. Stewart's Scrooge is rich and true to the written story. In addition, Stewart is supported by a wonderful cast including Ian McNeice as Fezziwig, Richard Grant as Bob Cratchit and Saskia Reeves as Mrs. Cratchit. Although relatively minor characters in the story, McNeice, Grant and Reeves are perfectly cast and enrich the production. In particular, I found Saskia Reeves' Mrs. Cratchit to be absolutely wonderful. She played the part so beautifully that she WAS Mrs. Cratchit. I have seen many productions of the story, but Reeves' Mrs. Cratchit was the best. Richard Grant was a first class Bob Cratchit and Ian McNeice gave a sterling portrayal of "old Fezziwig." Of course, many have noted the quality Joel Gray's Ghost of Christmas Past and he was excellent in the part. With the support of such excellent actors, and a first class production...costumes, sets, etc., this was a wonderful version of a classic tale. Stewart is a great Scrooge and in my opinion, this version of Dickens' story is one of the very finest every produced.』
(Most accurate, awesome movie!) 『This movie was the closest Ive seen in comparison with the book. I love this famous Christmas story, and since there are so many different variations out there, I couldn't help but read the book. I was very impressed with how close this was with the book. I really love this version.』
(Another Retelling?) 『I was leery of another retelling of a classic that i have enjoyed on the stage and yet I was stunned by what i saw.
Patrick Stewart IS Scrooge, his long time experience in a one man show has perfected his Scrooge down to the gruff bah humbug and the rusty old man cackle. Pure Enjoyment is as close to how i feel about this movie.
Not since the theater days have i found a Scrooge worthy of the part and here is one that shines above all others.』
(Patrick Stewart Shines) 『Patrick Stewart shines in this faithful adaptation of the Dickson's classic. Stewart has a great supporting cast, especially in Bob Cratchit and family. But for the multi-talented Stewart, this is a tour-de-force. Whether you're a Patrick Stewart fan (and who isn't?) or a Christmas Carol fan, this movie is a must.』 『A Christmas Carol ? TNT Original Patrick Stewart (X-Men, Star Trek: The Next Generation) stars as Scrooge, the mean-spirited miser who gets his terrifying comeuppance when he imagines he?s visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, and taken on a life-altering journey. Spellbinding special effects, a star-studded cast and a timeless holiday story make this brilliant presentation of Dickens? classic the most heartwarming, compelling and powerful adaptation ever filmed.Year: 1999Director: David JonesStarring: Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Joel Grey』 『Standing out in the crowded field of screen adaptations of the classic Dickens novelA Christmas Carolis hard to do, but this version pulls it off. When a transparent Jacob Marley walks through Ebenezer Scrooge's apartment door, you know you're seeing something both timeless and contemporary. Other strategically placed special effects--a funnel cloud that transports Scrooge and the ghost of Christmas present, the hollow specter of Christmas future--keep you riveted without slipping into anachronism.
But, as good as the technology is, the performances are what really power this 93-minute TNT interpretation. Patrick Stewart brings a depth to Scrooge that allows the character to go beyond the cartoonish qualities that have made him a Christmas mainstay. That doesn't mean he's any less heartless with his hapless employee Bob Cratchit (Richard E. Grant) or any less dismissive of his well-meaning nephew. A frail-looking Joel Grey makes an excellent ghost of Christmas past, and a superb British cast ably fill the remaining roles.
Director David Jones, shooting on location in England and at London's Ealing Studios, has achieved a balance of science and sentiment that will help this version hold up for many years to come.--Kimberly Heinrichs』

Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (Pathetic and Insulting) 『This is a very poor offering in the Masters of Horror series. It represents a childish attempt to denigrate the premier icon of American history -- George Washington, portraying him as a bestial monster, eating the flesh of children. The concept is depraved, the writing is poor and the result is embarrassing for the entire crew of this production. Oh, and they managed to get in a shot at George Bush as well at the end. If you're going to make a political statement via drama, then at least do a presentable job of it. Shame .』
(Often amusing episode of MOH) 『Based on a Bentley Little short story, The Washingtonians is an often amusing episode of Masters of Horror that puts a new kind of spin on the founding fathers. What if George Washington was a cult leader of child eating cannibals? That's what Mike (Johnathon Schaech) finds out after accidentally uncovering a hidden letter behind a portrait that was written by Washington himself, and soon enough he's being hunted by present day followers of Washington's ways, that will do anything to keep their secrets safe. The more ridiculous that The Washingtonians gets, the better it gets for the most part, and when it borderlines on complete and utter absurdity before the credits start to roll. Directed by the often underrated Peter Medak (The Changeling, Species II), The Washingtonians is nevertheless gory, enjoyable, and entertaining, and in those respects alone, that's all that really matters. All in all, as long as you don't take it too seriously, The Washingtonians is an amusing ride.』
(A Real Horror....but not in a good way) 『Several of the MOH episodes have been quite entertaining, so I decided to give this one a try. It starts off in promising fashion, with some creepy scenes and atmosphere, but it rapidly becomes a ridiculous farce. The "actress" portraying the daughter is the most annoying member of a cast that wallows in mediocrity. She has no apparent talent other than to scream piercingly. I found myself watching the final scenes in fervent hope that she would meet a ghastly end, but as with everything else in this poorly conceived and executed mess, I was ultimately disappointed.
If the concept of a "federal" SWAT team (called in by a...are you ready for this?...concerned history professor) summarily executing a gathering of flesh-eating lunatics wearing powdered wigs and colonial costumes, in order to conceal the fact that George Washington was a child-eating cannibal seems plausible or even remotely interesting to you, then by all means waste an hour of your time, as I did, wading through this silly, disappointing, amateurish farce.
To be honest, the general concept was so outlandish that, in more expert hands, it might have been entertaining. Too bad that Eli Roth or Robert Rodriguez weren't chosen to direct it. The scenes through the door peephole of the colonial cannibals in powdered wigs attempting to appear menacing with their rotted teeth and painted red lips (in true Mick Jagger fashion) was mildly amusing, but ultimately, the atrocious acting, laughable script, and wretched direction summarily execute (in true SWAT style) any chance of enjoyment.
You have been warned. This is a really lousy episode of MOH and the daughter character alone will make you root for the cannibals. Suffer through it at your own peril.』
(Please enter a title for your review:) 『another equal worst episode of the series. the entire thing is like watching paint dry from start to finish. it could have been edited down to 5 minutes and would still have failed to hold my interest. it has two of the requisite bloody/gore scenes typical of the series which are used entirely for gross out value, not inciting any fear or atmosphere.』
(A solid entry) 『This MOH episode is not scary in the least, but it is original. I think it's something that you will enjoy best around presidents day. It's gory and campy. Don't go in with super high expectations, and you should be pleasantly surprised.』 『What if everything we believe about our sacred icons of american history turned out to be a complete lie? suppose for example that the father of our country was actually a blood crazed cannibal? how far will a group of homocidal historians go to keep a heros grisly legacy alive? (We need a different 3D format!) 『As movies go it's pleasant enough; Brendan Frasier plus a hot woman is watchable, but let's face it Brendan is no James Mason. The movie is an excuse for a 3D film (they used the RealD polarized system (passive glasses) in theaters which was dark but good), and would be all right IF the 3D was even remotely as watchable here, (It's not). To combat pirating they used a magenta-green system instead of the red-blue standard, and it's even worse than bad. Now that there are Mitsubishi and Samsung HDTVs that are 3D ready out there the studios need to get with the program and produce either field sequential or polarized versions,(watchable on affordable 22" iz3D monitors). Anaglyph just doesn't cut the mustard anymore. People who will pay for blu-ray will shell out for the hardware to get a decent 3D experience at home! If I were either of those 2 companies above I'd contract the studios to put out software for the Tri-def or Stereoscopic viewer format which they are compatible with. Without a decent format to view the 3D on, this picture didn't need to be made........stick with James Mason.』
(Good Movie) 『I saw the 3D version in the theater which used REAL-D technology, it was the best 3D movie I had ever seen. The glasses were grey not pink and green like the ones included with the Blu-Ray/DVD. In addition the 3D version did not have the great colors that was seen in the theater.
That being said the movie itself was good, special effects were great and I can't complain about Brendan Frasier.』
(40/60 for Journey to the Center of the Earth (3D)) 『My wife and I watched the 3D version of Journey to the Center of the Earth. She loved it. I hated it. The 3D glasses gave me a headache, but my wife thought it was special. So 50% loved the movie, and 50% say save your money. We both thought that the 2D version might have been easier to watch. However, we both agreed that the plot was so weak that neither of us wanted to run the Blu-ray DvD again. So I gave this movie 2 stars. Buy only if you need to see a weak plot with plastic 3D glasses.』

I have truly missed this show since it went off-air. Since I was only able to purchase the first four seasons a year ago, FINALLY getting my hands on this season was a reminder of why it was such a tragedy that Amy Sherman-Palladino left after the sixth season and the show fizzled in the seventh season. Lots of fun and even more crazy only-the-Gilmores moments fill this season and make it worth watching again (and again).』

』 『Perennially one of the WB's highest-rated series,Gilmore Girlshit its creative high point to date with its stellar fifth season, which started out with young Rory (Alexis Bledel) feeling the fallout of doing something terribly non-Rory-like: sleeping with Dean (Jared Padalecki), her married ex-boyfriend. Rory's indulgence in adultery put, for the first time, a serious, sharp wedge in her relationship with her mother, Lorelai (Lauren Graham), who was both shocked by her daughter's behavior and worried Rory would repeat the mistakes Lorelai made at her age. But while Rory jetted off to Europe with her grandmother (Kelly Bishop) for the summer, Lorelai finally got her relationship with diner owner Luke (Scott Patterson) into a serious groove, starting with an official (and incredibly sweet) first date and others that involved, if you can believe it, a SwedishPippi Longstockingmovie. And as Lorelai navigated romantic terrain in Stars Hollow (terrain that of course did not run smooth), Rory found life more complex in her second year at Yale, as her relationship with Dean became increasingly strained. Not only that, she found her attention turned towards preppy Logan (Matt Czurchy), a spoiled rich kid who represented everything Rory couldn't stand--and was of course immediately attracted to. Little did Rory know that Logan's entrance into her life, and her interaction with his family, would be the catalyst for one of the most momentous decisions she would ever make.
With this season ofGilmore Girls, creative forces Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino finally found a way to make the Stars Hollow-Yale dichotomy work perfectly, as each location still stood alone but had decided repercussions on the other. Gone were freshman-year anxieties for Rory and in their place were more adult romantic concerns as well as a class consciousness that, for the first serious time, found Rory on the side of the haves and not the have-nots. While the Rory-Dean drama played itself out nicely and succinctly, it was the devilish Logan who lit a fire underneath this Gilmore girl; the episode "You Jump, I Jump, Jack" was a lovely twist on the '30s romantic comedies that found rich folk at play with words and deeds. Bledel started to fully blossom as Rory grew from ingénue to leading lady, and she was matched peerlessly by Graham, whose passion, anger, stubbornness, and ravishing beauty all came to a head in "Wedding Bell Blues," which featured her two greatest nemeses: her mother and Rory's dad, Christopher (David Sutcliffe). The show's trademark eccentricitieswere all in place--including aPulp Fictionparty and an elementary school production ofFiddler on the Roof, among other things--but it mined the best drama of its run with the season's last four episodes, which found Rory's confidence shaken to the core. To give any of the proceedings away would spoil the drama, but suffice it to say you will be glued to the TV for this season's final four hours; it'sGilmore Girlsat its phenomenal best.--Mark Englehart』

Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (I'd go over twelve percent for that) 『Reservoir Dogs served notice that a new auteur was on the scene, but though a good first effort for Quentin Tarantino, it was just a taste of things to come; and it seems like an experiment that was only partialy successful. Though it is often imitated, spoofed even like for instance a scene in 'Swingers,' it seems like it uses a lot of gimmicks, and even though said gimmicks are pretty much Tarantino's style, in later works, i.e. 'Pulp Fiction,' he is able to better integrate those gimmicks into a seamless tapestry.
It seemed very fresh and original at the time, but it may be getting a bit stale now, past its sell-by date. Like for instance, the scene where they plan the caper in the restaurant while discussing Madonna. Flash forward to 'Pulp Fiction' where they discuss what cheeseburgers are called in various European cities.

Can't remember specifically where in 'Pulp Fiction' he used this gimmick to better effect, but it is oh-so Tarantinoesque, and if Quentin didn't do it in 'Pulp Fiction' or 'Kill Bill, Volumes I and II' then a tsunami of imitators that followed in his wake surely did.
Funny how even though it is a caper movie, the actual caper is never seen, only the events before and after, not the actual caper itself. Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen (did you know this guy actually published an award winning book of poetry?), Steve Buscemi: awesome.

(Dogs In Blu) 『I always loved this movie. So when I found it on blu-ray, I had to get it. I am really yet to be disappointed with a blu-ray movie I have gotten. The visual is awesome and the audio just enhances this movie.』
(I have a surprise in the trunk of my car. I think you're gonna like it!) 『This is one of my all-time favorite movies! I'm not a big fan of cop&robber movies, but this flick is supurbly done. Even though it revolves around a jewelry store heist, the actual robbery is never shown. It was supposed to be the perfect heist. Everything was planned to the letter. But something went terribly wrong. Most of the movie takes place in an abandoned warehouse that was meant to be the rendezvous where they were supposed to meet after the robbery. One of the robbers was shot during the getaway. A few more are missing and apparently they were killed. And everyone is trying to figure out what went wrong. One of them must have set them up. There was a rat in the house! And they have to figure out who set them up. There are a lot of flashbacks to the planning stages and the various participants, and even flashbacks to the getaway. There is bickering, squabbling and finger-pointing and "What do we do now?" This film is not for the faint-hearted. It gets quite graphic and intense. Quentin Tarantino assembled an excellent cast with a dynamite script to deliver a fresh, bold, stark, graphic picture of the classic jewelry store heist that is truly one of the best pictures ever made! As I said, I'm not a big fan of cops&robbers flicks, but this is just a terrific movie! Quentin joins a cast that features Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Christopher Penn&Steve Buscemi in a dark, bold and very graphic portrait of some very nasty people! And Lawrence Tierney is fabulous in the role of Joe, the boss who arranged the robbery. I even enjoy comedian Steven Wright's voice used as the disc jockey for the background used of the robbers' favorite radio station. It was an interesting way to hold the whole package together. I very highly recommend this film! 』
(A Non-Linear, Dialogue Driven Film That Appeals to Any and All Tastes) 『"Reservoir Dogs" is Tarantino at his best. It's a very focused, character driven film that pretty much anyone can enjoy. It's one of the better gangster flicks, because unlike recent entries in the genre, it isn't exceedingly bloody or gory. There is extreme violence, but most of it is suggested or downplayed. It's also a great drama with an unconventional, non-linear structure that flows so nicely that I couldn't picture it being told any other way. It's a character driven piece, with most of the action being explained through dialogue after the fact, though I never felt like I was missing anything.
The dialogue is very snappy, and that is the shiny exterior that attracted me to the movie. From the opening speech about Madonna's "Like a Virgin" (which is spot on) to Mr. Orange's reveal to Mr. White, the dialogue carries the film on its back, never letting up. However, while the dialogue is definitely the main attraction, the quality of pretty much every aspect of the movie is high enough to keep anyone thoroughly entertained.
8/10』
(What a DOG of a flick) 『I love Pulp Fiction, so I thought this must be a great movie, too. I'm baffled by the positive reviews. This movie has a great cast but a simple plot. I kept waiting for it to make some sense or interest me. It never happened. Once is too many times to view this movie. Don't waste your money. It doesn't live up to all the hype.』 『Studio: Lions Gate Home Ent. Like Tarantino's mainstream breakthroughPulp Fiction,Reservoir Dogshas an unconventional structure, cleverly shuffling back and forth in time to reveal details about the characters, experienced criminals who know next to nothing about each other. Joe (Lawrence Tierney) has assembled them to pull off a simple heist, and has gruffly assigned them color-coded aliases (Mr. Orange, Mr. Pink, Mr. White) to conceal their identities from being known even to each other. But something has gone wrong, and the plan has blown up in their faces. One by one, the surviving robbers find their way back to their prearranged warehouse hideout. There, they try to piece together the chronology of this bloody fiasco--and to identify the traitor among them who tipped off the police. Pressure mounts, blood flows, accusations and bullets fly. In the combustible atmosphere these men are forced to confront life-and-death questions of trust, loyalty, professionalism, deception, and betrayal. As many critics have observed, it is a movie about "honor among thieves" (just asPulp Fictionis about redemption, andJackie Brownis about survival). Like Tarantino's mainstream breakthroughPulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogshas an unconventional structure, cleverly shuffling back and forth in time to reveal details about the characters, experienced criminals who know next to nothing about each other. Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (slick production values, but still a mess) 『FALLEN ANGELS boasts all the usual modern horror film visuals (i.e. clichés). Quick MTV edits, grim desaturated colors, gore, etc. Even so, the film is a boring mess.
Confused story. I don't think I would have known what was going on, except I'd read the DVD box before hand, and the characters kept filling me in on stuff they'd learned. (And I'd wonder: how did they figure that out? -- it's not in the film.)
Films opens with stereotypical drunken, horny teens. One's killed, another's kidnapped. Then we're at this prison about to be torn down. We find skeletons in the basement. The FBI comes in to investigate. Turns out many skeletons are over 100 years old.
People die. Some from demons, some from a killer. We find more skeletons. Killed by different people.
More people die, seemingly at random. In the end we learn it has something to do with 7 demons in charge of the 7 deadly sins. Yet I can't really figure out which thinly sketched character was supposed to be guilty of which sin.
Also, a mother is seeking her kidnapped daughter. And an FBI agent discusses his early years as a pastor in Mexico. Where some demon-possessed boy was killed by vigilante villagers.
The FBI agent/pastor also converses with a demon. This demon has really cheap makeup, like in a sitcom. He sounds like some whiny character from a Jerry Seinfeld episode.
I won't give a spoiler, but know that the ending is really unexpected, in a weird way. Not entertaining. Not gripping or anything horrific. Just out of the ballpark.
The production values are slick. But the acting is flat, and the writing is awful.
The best 7 deadly sins film is THE DEVIL WALKS AT MIDNIGHT, aka THE DEVIL'S NIGHTMARE. An early 1970s Euro-horror film. 』
(Movie Review) 『This movie went from discovering skeletons in an underground "dungeon" to searching for a missing person.』
(Disappointing Excuse For A Film) 『At the beginning, Fallen Angels seemed almost like a dream. Everything that was happening was very dreamy and very confusing. Although it was confusing, when the first few deaths came around, the first thing that popped into my head was, "Wow! This movie is going to be great!" But, after the death when the demon split the detective's mouth open, and then ripped out his teeth, the movie deteriorated.
It began just a blur of confusion and deaths that were far from original. There was only one death preceding this point that actually made me say "Wow!", and that was when another detective got his eyes popped by one of the demons.
Overall, I was disappointed with Fallen Angels, mainly because it had so much promise in the beginning, and then just went cheesy afterwards, and it was very upsetting as a viewer. Rent first before buying this movie.』
(A Great Movie With Something Amazing About It) 『I would have to say that I was rather shocked by this movie. I would have expected the usual indie sort of thing, monsters running about (check), frantic people in search of answers while going into the places you really shouldn't go (check), theological meaning and an almost Christian ending (whoooahh?....) Yes, this had what I would have to say a very spiritual, rather almost Christian, ending. While there were many wonderful, sort of I would guess, scenes of violence and monsters attacking (which turned out to be a fog of a situation as you find out in the ending), the culmination and the declaration of the ending of the movie was...what I would have to call...a very Christian point of view toward spiritual warfare and spiritual (very close to Christian) sense of revelation and hope and meaning. Fantastic! I would have to say. This was a great movie because, while I wouldn't call it Christian on the same level as the Left Behind movies (which sort of thrust religion and Scriptures down the viewers throats at times), the conclusion was indeed a monumental one. This might be something of a problem for some people, but again, listen carefully and watch carefully. Yes it was Christian, but it wasn't preachy. A great movie. Watch it!』
(OK...but a letdown) 『I've been looking forward to Fallen Angels for a long time, as I loved Jeff Thomas's other movie, 13 Seconds. While 13 Seconds had it's flaws, mostly in the acting and dialogue, I thought it was a brilliant movie. It was a good story, a great twist ending, and some seriously creepy filming.
Scenes like the reflection in the doorknob and the upside down creature in the airvent were brilliance in their simplicity. I put 13 Seconds near the very top of my list of favorite Horror movies.
So I was really looking forward to his follow-up film, especially since it seemed he had more money to put into it, and had a slew of Horror Cult legends in the cast.
And while Fallen Angels wasn't a bad movie by any means, I was pretty disappointed. It looked like there was more focus toward making scenes just for the sake of putting familiar actors in the movie then there was in telling a good story. Many of the characters aren't even around long enough to make any kind of real impact or let the viewer make an emotional investment in them.
The great Reggie Bannister was here, then gone. Michael Berryman had a quick scene. Christy Hemme, who looked great, was in the film for all of 7 seconds, with no dialogue. It seems like the addition of so many 'names' took away from the overall quality of the film.
Also, much of the film was too dark. It was difficult to see what was going on in some scene. I know the film was taking place in the sub-basement of an abandoned prison, and it's supposed to be dark, but the lighting could've been better.
I did enjoy the movie though, although it's probably not one I'd watch again and again like 13 Seconds. The scene with the Medium was very well done, probably my favorite in the movie. The ending 'revelation' was pretty cool, although it's execution came off a little bit hokey, and some of the kill scenes with the teeth pulling were pretty intense.
I will say it was a much better horror film then the garbage the big budget movie studio's have been pushing out for the last several years. Mainstream horror has really lost it's way over the years, unless another mindless, by the numbers, Saw sequel is your thing. I'll take a good indy flick from the likes of Jeff Thomas or Dante Tomaselli over that nonsense any day of the week.
Jeff Thomas is a very talented film maker. All you have to do is watch Fallen Angels and especially 13 Seconds to see that. And I have a ton of confidence that by the time he's finished, he's gonna have a long line of great horror films under his belt.
But for his future work, he needs to focus on making a great movie and telling a good story more then making a film that tries to jam as many Kane Hodders and Reggie Bannisters into a 90 minute film as he can.
Oh...and Peter Brady? C'mon Jeff.
That being said, I'll be eagerly awaiting Jeff Thomas's next film, whenever and whatever that may be.
Support Indy Horror.

Hidden deep underground beneath the west cell block is a sub-basement structure that has not been entered in 100 years. Inside are the skeletal remains of several brutally slain children. Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (New to donkeys? This is great!) 『I agree with the reviewer from South Carolina. My young donkey is my first equine. There are few local donkey owners/trainers where I live. So I looked for training books and videos and found wonderful stuff for people who are planning on showing ... very technical, very good ... but way beyond me, and not what I need to start. Also, the videos I've seen show you only their successes and usually without the audio. You can't hear the interaction between person and donkey - a key element. I was so hungry for something that I could see and hear, showing what to do when everything isn't perfect (most of the time). After watching "Donkey Training" with Crystal Ward, I felt so much better about my donkey and myself ... and so much more relaxed about the whole process. Why? You see Crystal work with donkeys that are learning as the tape rolls. She talks you through her decisions to react or not react to how the donkey is responding. She suggests options as she goes along, and she always stays calm. She gives helpful background information. Also, because this is a dvd, you can find the subject you need easily. We've made wonderful progess since the dvd arrived and have a great relationship. Donkeys are awesome. If only Crystal Ward would produce more dvds. For one thing, my standard donkey is young and I wonder how she works with kicking (luckily my donkey hasn't tried... but what if he does?) and nipping (which he sort of
