(FINALLY! Pinocchio gets the special treatment!)
『For years, the only available edition of Disney's classic "Pinocchio" has been a bare-bones movie-only version with no extras at all. Practically every other animated film in the Disney vault has been released in special 2-disc editions. Now, this will be fixed with the upcoming DVD&Blu-ray release on March 10, 2009. Released in 1940, "Pinocchio" was the 2nd animated feature, following the release of "Snow White." It also introduced the Oscar winning song, "When You Wish Upon a Star," which is one of the most memorable Disney songs ever.

For those unfamiliar with the story, it involves a wooden puppet, Pinocchio, created by lonely Gepetto the woodcarver. The Blue Fairy grants his wish of making the puppet alive, however, he can only become a real boy if he proves himself "brave, truthful, and unselfish." Assigned the character Jiminy Cricket as his conscience, Pinocchio begins his adventures to become a real boy. Without giving away too much of the plot, one of my favorite sequences is the one involving Pleasure Island. It would not be too difficult today to draw parallels to what happens to people when they get attracted to dangerous short-term pleasures that mask a life of imprisonment. Although the movie dips into some dark territory, obviously Disney brings it back to happier ground, showing the power of true love (albeit not a romantic one this time). Cliff Edwards brings Jiminy Crickett to life with his expressive vocal talents, and few can equal his singing of the classic "Wish Upon A Star" song in his trademark falsetto. Little known trivia: the voice of the Blue Fairy is actress Evelyn Venable, who played Shirley Temple's mother in "The Little Colonel" (1935).

Audio specs have not been announced yet, but I will add them as soon as they become available. However, judging from the preview clips shown on the DIsney "Tinkerbell" Blu-ray, the picture looks incredible, as a result of the recent restoration.

Since Amazon doesn't list the bonus features anymore (and many of us like to know that kind of stuff), here's what the DVD will include:

DISC ONE

* Pinocchio's Matter of Facts: Fun facts about Pinocchio and other related subjects as you watch the movie

* Audio Commentary: Leonard Maltin, Eric Goldberg and J. B. Kaufman

* Disney Song Selection: Sing along with favorite songs as the lyrics appear onscreen

DISC TWO

* "No Strings Attached: The Making of Pinocchio." Behind-the scenes magic that transformed Carlo Collodi's popular book into a classic animated film.

* 2 Deleted Scenes: The Story of the Grandfather Tree (Kindly Geppetto tells Pinocchio about the Great Pine Tree from which Pinocchio is descended) and In The Belly Of The Whale (The most elaborate of Pinocchio's deleted scenes that remain in the Disney Archives, these recently discovered storyboards reveal a different version of Geppetto inside Monstro).

* Alternate Ending: A recently uncovered set of small storyboard panels reveal plans for a different version of Pinocchio becoming a real boy.

* The Sweat Box: The Sweatbox was a small projection room at the Disney studio where Walt critiqued story reels, rough animation, and dailies of films in progress with his anxious artists. This piece traces the history of the Sweatbox and brings to life this important part of Walt Disney's artistic process.

* Live Action Reference Footage

* Pinocchio Art Galleries

* Deleted Songs: An audio collection of period "pop" recordings of songs not used in the final film.

* Pinocchio Puzzles: Hosted by Jiminy Cricket, Pinocchio's Puzzles is a multi-tiered Puzzle game that contains six unique wooden puzzles for the viewer to assemble. Each puzzle forms an image from the film that comes to life once they are complete.

For Blu-ray owners, here's the exclusive content IN ADDITION to what has been mentioned above:

* Cine-Explore

* Disney BD-Live Network - The Disney BD-Live Network is just one of the many ways viewers can continue to stay connected and engage in their favorite movies.

* Movie Chat - Communicate with your remote friends on-screen while in a synchronized viewing party using your remote control or any text enabled device such as a laptop, desk top or any PDA device such as a Blackberry, iPhone or most other regular cell phones. Your chat session will appear over the movie and occur in real-time while watching the movie together.

* Movie Mail: Record a personalized video message of yourself, superimpose that capture onto one of many pre-selected clips of the movie, and send it off to a friend, colleague, or relative.

* Movie Challenge: Test your skills against other players in a synchronized, real-time, online trivia game while watching Pinocchio with anyone online. Movie Challenge is always active no matter what time of the day it is, and there will always be a game in progress.

* Disney Movie Rewards Live: Accumulate Disney Movie Reward Points by participating in many Disney BD-Live Network activities. In return, viewers can redeem points for exclusive content such as Avatars, downloadable extras and more.

(The Ultimate Must-See Movie)
『This movie sums up the Puritan values that every conservative Christian believes in! The acting is first-class, no corners cut on production!』

(It has it all.)
『Some friends and I enjoyed this movie very much. I purchased five copies, so that should say something about this wonderful movie.』

(The best things are free)
『I loved this movie - especially because of James Garner!

The Ultimate gift is about a young, wealthy, selfish young man who may be able to inherit his grandfather's millions. However there are some tasks he must complete. It sounds like a familiar story doesn't it? It's much more.』

(Must See)
『This story is an excellent portrayal of what the human spirit can d - and for others.』

(Very good movie!)
『I had not heard of this movie before my parents told me about it. I watched it with family and liked it very much. It has a positive message, is a clean movie, and has good characters. The movie was certainly well cast. I will warn you, it did make me cry, but it also made me laugh. It had the element of surprise. The story is just so good! I enjoyed watching the main character's soul-searching and dynamic. I recommend it.』
『When his wealthy grandfather dies, trust fund baby Jason Stevens inherits his grandfather's crash course on life: 12 tasks-or gifts-designed to challenge Jason in improbable ways. The "course" sends Jason on a journey of self-discovery that forces him to reevaluate his priorities and determine what he thinks the most important things in life really are.』
The Ultimate Giftis a tale of one man's tumultuous journey toward personal growth and fulfillment. Surrounded in life, and death, by avaricious family members fueled by a sense of entitlement, billionaire Red Stevens (James Garner) wants to bequeath at least one member of his extended family "the ultimate gift": something he perceives as immensely more valuable than material wealth. Red's arrogant grandson Jason (Drew Fuller) holds a deep-seated hatred for his newly-deceased grandfather, so he's surprised to learn from his grandfather's friend and lawyer Mr. Hamilton (Bill Cobbs) and assistant Miss Hastings (Lee Meriwether) that he's been mentioned in his late grandfather's will. Far from a straightforward gift of cash, land, or stock, Red's bequest comes in the form of a series of mysterious recorded instructions, the first of which requires Jason to hop on a plane for Texas the very next morning without a hint of the trip's purpose or the nature of the gift that awaits him. Dropped into a life of hard physical labor on a ranch in the middle of nowhere, Jason's bad-tempered fury eventually turns to resignation and he finds himself engaged in, and even taking pride in, the first real manual labor he's ever done in his life. Unbeknownst to him, his journey toward claiming the ultimate gift has only just begun. When he returns from Texas, Jason finds his home cleared out, his car confiscated, and instructions to produce one true friend. While Jason is reduced to sleeping in the park, a young child name Emily (Abigail Breslin) and her mother Alexia (Ali Hillis) make his acquaintance and lead him to re-examine his personal prejudices and perceptions of what's truly important in life. Jason's journey of self-discovery continues throughout a series of other trying experiences and, in the end, Grandpa Red's "ultimate gift" of life lessons profoundly and permanently improves the quality of Jason's life. What's more, Jason's new perspective of his place in society has a very positive affect on the larger community. This very powerful film is funny, heartbreaking, and intensely thought-provoking.--Tami Horiuchi

(Worth it to watch it :-))
『I like to watch this when life is feeling a bit difficult, the secret wakes me up and puts my focus on life in a new light.』

(Great for those who forego common sense (most of us))
『Who doesn't know about The Secret by now? It's a wonderful tool for those [of us] caught up in the intricacies of every-day life and the artificial complications within it to be used as a grounding agent. I watch it once a month in order to enhance my focus and sharpen the mental images I have in my mind, and I'll do so until they are habitual (as suggested in the film) and no longer need to review the DVD.
Many of the things suggested in the film/book are common sense, such as following what you WANT, regardless of what it is, and are so simple that they may be overlooked. The point of this exercise is that life is so much simpler than we think, and with some fine tuning anyone can achieve ANYTHING. I highly recommend it.』

(Exactly what was expected.)
『I used the Secret (both the book and this video) for a Wednesday night Bible Study at my church. We were doing a 10-week Cult Study. So, I chose the Secret for one of my resources while discussing the New Age Religion. It was exactly what I expected and was actually very clear regarding the "gospel" it is preaching. The basic line runs: you are in control, you control your destiny, you can even control your environment. One of the ladies interviewed actually said plainly, "you are god." You can't get much clearer than that. Nor can you contradict the Gospel of Jesus Christ more severely than that. Be aware when you purchase this product, you are not hearing a neutral "spiritual" talk. You are hearing a gospel that does not lead to life. Anyone who is willing to be honest with themselves will admit, even if to only themselves, "I am not in control." Look to the King of kings, Jesus Christ and be saved.』

(Magical thinking and the problem with expectations)
『Imagine yourself actually doing that job you want so much. Keep that image in your mind. Think positively about it all the time; do not allow doubt to enter your thoughts. Send out an earnest request to the universe to give you this thing you want. And supposedly it will happen.

I am not a spiritual person by any stretch of the imagination, but at least with religious beliefs, you don't always get what you want, and you don't necessarily find out why you didn't get the thing for which you prayed. God works in mysterious ways, and it is not our place to question.

In _The Secret_, all that can be said is that one has not put enough effort into the scenario/beliefs, so it's one's shortcomings as a full-on, no-questions-asked believer that cause one to fail.

Here is the essential problem with expectations. We will not get what we want all the time. Often we will get things we don't want, like miserable marriages or cancer. And no amount of positive thinking can circumvent some of this stuff. Yes, I understand the mind over matter principles, but to say that faith in the universe and a positive outlook will result in a happy life is purely magical thinking.

Expectations are not always met. In my view, it's far healthier to stop expecting anything in particular. When things happen that we like, we rejoice. When unpleasant things happen, we can handle that that, too; it's the luck of the draw and not a personal vendetta against us.』

(The Secret!...)
『It's wonderful! :)
It's as great as my Slogan...
If you can see it, you can believe it!
If you can believe it, you can achieve it!』

『The new "extended edition" of this ground-breaking feature length movie presentation reveals The Great Secret of the universe. It has been passed throughout the ages, traveling through centuries... to reach you. This is The Secret to everything - the secret to unlimited joy, health, money, relationships, love, youth: everything you have ever wanted. In this astonishing program are ALL the resources you will ever need to understand and live The Secret. For the first time in history, the world's leading scientists, authors, and philosophers will reveal The Secret that utterly transformed the lives of every person who ever knew it... Plato, Newton, Carnegie, Beethoven, Shakespeare, Einstein. Now YOU will know The Secret. And it can change your life forever.』
『Not really a movie or documentary,The Secretis more of a video seminar, a presentation featuring a series of authors, philosophers, doctors, quantum physicists, entrepreneurs, and spiritual practitioners expounding on the powers of The Secret (probably the most well-known of the presenters is Jack Canfield, author ofChicken Soup for the SoulandThe Success Principles). What isThe Secret, exactly? "That principle can be summed up in three simple words: thoughts become things," proclaims writer Mike Dooley, author ofNotes from the Universe. Put it another way, it’s The Power of Positive Thinking and how it can be applied to attracting more money, better health, and relationships; in short, happiness. (There is a rundown of topics on the DVD Chapters menu).

Most of the material here is given in a straightforward manner, with the presenters simply talking into the camera to address the audience directly, which is good because it avoids the trap of pretense. On the other hand, the quick edits between presenters (would it hurt to let them say more than one sentence at a time?) don't help because it reduces many of their points to palatable sound bites and aphorisms. To many viewers, this may make the program come across as a series of nice ideas not rooted in reality. Plus it's somewhat spurious to claim that The Secret was well understood and practiced by specific individuals like Plato or Shakespeare (it's well known that some of the historical figures noted didn't exactly live happy or even prosperous lives, despite their achievements). But still, the primary message is one of positivity and hope for everyone. So what to make of it? In the end, programs like this generally find an audience that is open to the message, and many will probably find it to be a source of inspiration. Others will approach it with a good deal of skepticism or dismiss it as another way of marketing happiness the masses. It simply won’t resonate with everyone, but if it resonates with you, you're likely to enjoy it and get a lot out of it. Those looking for more on The Secret might want to check out the companion book by Rhonda Byrne.--Daniel Vancini

(good movie, bad CS...)
『This really is a pretty good movie, I recommend it. However, I suggest that you buy it from another seller, as I ordered this DVD in April 8 and it is now November 30 and still no delivery. I've sent multiple e-mails, but to no avail. I got 1 reply telling me that I was pretty much SOL. No package, and no refund. I ended up borrowing it from someone who DIDN'T try to order it from these people...

tisk, tisk.』

(Another Disney Classic)
『I was told that this movie made fun of every other Disney movie ever made, so when I saw it, I expected to just see it once, for laughs. But it turned out to be a sheer delight to watch and is quickly becoming one of my favorite Disney movies.

The movie has great Disney-classic musical sequences mixed with Broadway dancing. Beautiful Amy Adams, the actress who plays Giselle, displays amazing acting and singing talent. Her expressive face was perfect for the part. Patrick Dempsey did a really good job portraying the cynical, but protective single father.

The only thing I would have excluded from this movie was the scene with Narissa at the end. It was unnecessary, since the rest of the story was wrapped up, but I think perhaps that scene is where people get the idea that it "makes fun" of all the other Disney movies. I still didn't find it sarcastic or satirical toward Disney--just unnecessary.

If you watch the movie and love the musical sequences as much as I did, I recommend you watch the Bonus Feature "Fantasy Comes to Life," where they show the some behind-the-scenes footage of three of the major songs. It's incredible to watch all of New York City's talent come together in one great Disney movie.』

(Surprisingly Great)
『I did not go see this in theaters because, to be honest, I thought it looked ridiculous. Now that I have seen it, it was so entertaining! Hilarious with a good hearted plot, I enjoyed it from beginning to end. The singing voices are superb as well. I highly recommend for anyone who also has a light heart and enjoys romantic comedies. Love lives on!』

(Surprisingly entertaining, goofy fun.)
『This is a regular guy's review or take on Disney's `Enchanted':
I caught a showing of `Enchanted' (not the Blu-Ray) on Starz HD late one night after I'd just finished watching `The Bourne Ultimatum' (rockin' action flick by the way, great bathroom fight scene.) I'm on here, considering buying this DVD for my niece.

Let me just say up front that `Enchanted' wouldn't normally have been my type of movie; it's a family flick, a musical and a romantic comedy based on fairy tale archetypes---not usually my thing at all. And in fact the script itself is a fairly straightforward fish-out-of-water story about an innocent naïve girl lost in the big city and affects the people she comes in contact with, that is very similar to `Splash!', the 1980's Tom Hanks and Darryl Hannah mermaid movie.

I won't proceed to describe the plot details as others before me and the Amazon caption summary have done it far better than I could have. With that out of the way, `Enchanted' was a lot of fun, witty at times and a joy to watch. With any other cast, this movie would not have been half as good as it is. The actors shoulder what could have been a generic script premise worthy of a made for cable movie on the Disney Channel and elevate the movie above its genre.

Amy Adams is a joy to watch and she steals every scene she's in; I expect this lady to catapult to mega-movie stardom in short order. I defy any other heterosexual guy to resist falling for Adams in this part. She's so adorable, sweet and beautiful in a girl-next-door sort of way as Giselle that you totally buy her as the cartoon princess from a fairy tale world that becomes a real girl, so to speak. And the lady has a set pipes as well; the Central Park musical number reminded me of some of the great bits from `Mary Poppins', Disney's other classic (Julie Andrews was a babe back in her day).

Kudos to credited song-writers Mencken and Schwartz; I challenge anyone to dislodge the movie's catchy songs from their craniums after a viewing.

No small credit also goes to James Marsden; he likewise had a difficult part to play as Prince Edward. He very easily could have played it very formally, read the dialogue and swung the sword about. Marsden makes the Prince such a good-natured buffoon who's a nice enough guy but is overly impressed with himself, that he makes a great foil to Patrick Dempsey's Robert, a divorce attorney. (Marsden was also the same dude who played Lois Lane's boyfriend in `Superman Returns', who I thought who would have made a better Clark Kent/Superman than the guy that did play him who did the Christopher Reeve impression.)

The direction by Kevin Lima is not groundbreaking, but is understated and capable enough where you don't notice all the moving parts of this likely complicated production. I actually prefer this sort of direction to the more pretentious `Hey Ma, look, I'm directin', I'm directin'!' stylistic efforts of other modern filmmakers.

Overall, `Enchanted' is a very good movie that I wouldn't have expected an average action and science-fiction movie loving guy like me to enjoy. In high-definition, the colors in this movie pop as if it were animated during the live-action portion. And, wow, Adams is a beauty in high-def---those big blue-green eyes!

(Boring....)
『I didn't enjoy this movie, it was boring, and I had one laugh, at Susan as an old lady, but boring.』
『Studio: Buena Vista Home Video Release Date: 12/26/2008 Run time: 107 minutes Rating: Pg』
『Life is idyllic in the fairytale world where conflict is minimal and breaking into song solves every problem, but what happens when a princess from the fairy world gets magically transported into the real world?Enchantedbegins in the animated fairytale world of Andalasia where Princess Giselle (Amy Adams) is destined to marry Prince Edward (James Marsden) and live happily ever after. Problem is, Edward's step-mother Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon) doesn't want to give up the throne and will do anything to get Giselle out of Edward's life. Queen Narissa's solution is to push Giselle into a well that magically lands Giselle smack in the middle of the real world--the center of Time Square in New York City, to be exact. This launches the live-action portion of the film where Giselle immediately realizes that things are frighteningly different in this new world and that she is ill-prepared for the callous ways of the people who inhabit it. Giselle finds herself alone on a stormy night in the wrong end of town, but a chance encounter with Robert (Patrick Dempsey) and his princess-loving daughter Morgan (Rachel Covey) leads to a warm, safe place to spend the night and the beginnings of a complicated, yet compelling relationship. As Giselle begins to question the fairy-tale truths she's always inherently believed, Robert's outlook on life and love also begins to change significantly. Parallels to the classicDisneyfairytales,Cinderella,Snow WhiteandSleeping Beautyabound in the form of a King's and Queen's ball, small animals and rodents who clean house when called, the threat of poisoned apples, characters impulsively breaking into song, and the power of the kiss of true love and the absurd juxtaposition of fairytale idealism and stark reality is hilariously funny. Features music by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz ofPocahontasandThe Hunchback of Notre Damefame,Wicked'sBroadway Elpheba Idina Menzel as Nancy, and even a brief appearance by former Princess voice talent Judy Kuhn (Pocahontas).Enchantedis one of the best, most entertainingDisneyfilms of the year. (actually a good movie)
『It's nice to know that there is more to movies than blowing up buildings and trashy humor for humor sake. This movie is brilliant!』

(Heartwarming Christmas Movie)
『I regret that I missed "Love Actually" at the theater. I'm so glad that I bought the DVD, because it has become one of my favorite movies, and certainly one that I see at least once during the holidays every year. I never tire of it. The music and characters are full, real, and wonderful. It's not all laughs, but it's life affirming.

As charming as it is, "Love Actually" is strictly an ADULT movie, not family fare. It wouldn't be the unique movie it is without the adult scenes and language, but be forewarned.

Soundtrack includes music by many artists. Check out the soundtrack album here on Amazon.Com.

(Disasterous love, actually)
『For those of you who think that love is about serving and giving to another, and not about gratifying your own needs - please take my advice and avoid this film.
Aside from one storyline, I detected no real love in any of the plots in this film. There is no time for character development in this mishmash of stories, so the director didn't bother with it and simply jumped to intimacy. I usually love divergent story-line plots, but this movie was a disappointment on all levels. It panders to those who would, with glazed and vapid eyes, fall into a relationship with someone they hardly know and then wonder why they walk away, soon after (very soon after) with bruised hearts and warped ideas about love.
I am surprised by the positive reviews it received. I guess our culture is really more concerned with the appearance of love than the gritty, sacrificial, gradual and deep, "actual" thing.
If I could give a negative rating to a film - for destroying or at least misrepresenting that which it claims to tout - I would do so here. Films like this give young, impressionable women wholly unwise behavior patterns that are ultimately destructive to their ability to create a long-lasting relationship with an honorable (and perhaps less dashing) man.

(Cheesy, but not too cheesy)
『very funny and sweet film. Excellent music and hilarious situations. I like watching this film because it helps me renew my faith in humanity.
some of the subplots are a bit extraneous, i think if they had focus on a few of them and developed them, it would have been a tighter film.
One of Hugh Grant's best films. Bill Nighy is a scene stealer.』

(One Of My Top 10 Greatest Movies Of All Time)
『A love story from all different angles and all perfectly intertwined with humor to top it all off. A stacked cast full of great British actors, Love Actually is a real life (and rather adult, I don't think you would want your children watching this), creatively written Christmas movie. They cover almost every romantic and heart-breaking situation that can occur in an average persons life (well almost average I suppose). From a troubles in a long marriage to happiness in a brand new one. You have a washed up rock star who realizes in all his efforts to return to the lime light full of easy women and glamorous parties that all he really wants is the company of a long time friend for Christmas. You have bosses falling for the help, and two people falling in love even if they don't know what the other is saying due to a language barrier. My favorite story in the movie is the recently widowed father who spends the movie helping his son with his situation, aka the "total agony of being in love".

The story begins at the Heathrow Airport arrivals gate where `Love is everywhere" as couples and friends alike great each other with happiness and affection. The first character you are introduced to is the washed up rock star recording the most awful Christmas record of the season (although very hilarious, I must warn you he in particular will drop the f word at least once a line). Even though each character has its individual story, the story tends to revolve around the new prime minister (and his family) played by Hugh Grant. The Prime Ministers problem throughout the movie is the crush he has on one of his secretary/assistants, who everyone else calls the "chubby girl". Another character, Colin (Kris Marshall) is just looking for easy romance that he believes can be found in American women, so for Christmas he heads state side. Many different stories, many different ways to relate!

If you are the type of person who doesn't enjoy vulgar language, I wouldn't pick this one up because it is everywhere. It also has some nudity, so as I said before, probably not the best for children to watch. It is though, funny, creative and entertaining. You won't be disappointed with this movie, I can assure you. It will make you laugh, smile, and almost want to shed a tear at its sweetest moments!!!

『"Get ready for fun!" (Leah Rozen, People) with the "feel good movie of the year!" (Clay Smith, Access Hollywood) Love Actually is the ultimate romantic comedy from the makers of Bridget Jones's Diary and Notting Hill. Funny, irresistible and heartwarming, an all-star cast (Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth and Emma Thompson, to name a few!) will take you on a breathtaking tour of love's delightful twists and turns. Fall under the spell of Love Actually and share the laughs and charm again and again.』
『With no fewer than eight couples vying for our attention,Love Actuallyis like the Boston Marathon of romantic comedies, and everybody wins. Having mastered the genre as the writer ofFour Weddings and a Funeral,Notting Hill, andBridget Jones's Diary, it appears that first-time director Richard Curtis is just like his screenplays: He just wants to be loved, and he'll go to absurdly appealing lengths to win our affection. WithLove Actually, Curtis orchestrates a minor miracle of romantic choreography, guiding a brilliant cast of stars and newcomers as they careen toward love and holiday cheer in London, among them the Prime Minister (Hugh Grant) who's smitten with his caterer; a widower (Liam Neeson) whose young son nurses the ultimate schoolboy crush; a writer (Colin Firth) who falls for his Portuguese housekeeper; a devoted wife and mother (Emma Thompson) coping with her potentially unfaithful husband (Alan Rickman); and a lovelorn American (Laura Linney) who's desperately attracted to a colleague. There's more--too much more--as Curtis wraps his Christmas gift with enough happy endings to sweeten a dozen other movies. That he pulls it off so entertainingly is undeniably impressive; that he does it so shamelessly suggests that his writing fares better with other, less ingratiating directors.--Jeff Shannon

(not the original, unedited version but still enjoyable)
『This is not the original, full version that featured Kermit the Frog as narrator. It is edited, with some lines being cut from the show as well as full scenes. Even some of the songs are edited or shortened. I hope the full, unedited version of this classic show will be released soon. My rating is due to this not being the full version. The program itself is still as enjoyable as ever but would be much more enjoyable if it wasn't edited.』

『Does this DVD include the Kermit intro/ending and is it the complete movie or the same as the 2005 release?』

(Wonderful "muppet" movie w/ a really great message!)
『I used to watch this on HBO almost every day during the holiday season and was so happy to see it available on DVD a few years ago. The characters are super cute, the songs are well-written&catchy, and the message is a timeless Christmas gem. It has become a staple holiday movie in my household!』

(CHRISTMAS AND THE GRINCH)
『What is christmas without the classic Grinch who stole Christmas. Boris Karloffs narrative and the Dr Seuss tale create a timeless classic loved by those young and old. A great treat for the whole family to watch. Ill have my 2 girls and wife together to watch this classic and bring in the holidays the way it should be. DOnt forget little cindy lou who ,who was no more than 2. CLASSIC』

(It Isn't Christmas Without The Grinch)
『Dr. (Theodore Geisel) Seuss's story of a mean-spirited creature who discovers the real meaning of the holiday was a lovely story to begin with. But director Chuck Jones's contribution made the story truly poignant.

During the war, the two had collaborated on a series of animated shorts for service men featuring Private Snafu. Afterward, Jones returned to directing those wonderful animated shorts from Warner Brothers and Seuss went on to write a score of children's books. Their reunion produced this seamless blend of heartfelt sentiment refracted through the lens of a Looney Tunes sensibility.

Veteran voice actors help to round out the piece, but it's Boris Karloff's brilliant story telling and his voice of the Grinch we remember.』

(A True Classic)
『I waited each to see some of my favorite shows as a child, Rudolph, Frosty and of course the Grinch.

I never grew tired of these shows when I was younger and they still entrhall me, and my child, today.

This is a great version of the Grinch in terms of the quality of the video and if you like the show, it is a worthwhile addition so you can see it more than just once a year.』

(Ahhh, memories...)
『I absolutely love my copy of How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Horton Hears a Who. I did not notice any color variations or strange sound effects, so I'm guessing some people received a bad copy. However, this version is wonderful! I enjoyed reading Dr. Seuss growing up and this movie brings up happy childhood memories of Christmas! This is a great Christmas story for all ages with a good message behind it!』

(An insult to the source material)
『Dr. Seuss' classic holiday story was already adapted for the screen in a beloved animated version by Chuck Jones. This gratingly unfunny retread fails its predecessors in every way. It's just awful.』
『Every Who down in Who-ville likes Christmas a lot&; But the Grinch who lived just north of Whoville did NOT! So the cuddly as a cactus Grinch (with termites in his smile and garlic in his soul) tries to wipe out Christmas for the cheerful Who-villians, only to discover: Maybe Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas perhaps means a little bit more! Magnificently narrated by Boris Karloff and animated by cartoon legend Chuck Jones, it's an award-winning Who-roast-beast-feast of a holiday classic!』
『This all-time classic now hasHorton Hears a Who!on the same video for a great double bill.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas
To heck with the kids--this is one of the best holiday presents you can give yourself. Adapted from the children's book by Dr. Seuss, this charming story is one to watch every holiday season. It is just edgy enough to help you forget the more cloying aspects of Christmas, yet it is also sweet enough to remind you of the reason for all that holiday cheer. Animation genius Chuck Jones directed this 1966 television production featuring the voice of Boris Karloff as the mean greenie. Bitter and selfish, the Grinch decides to steal Christmas away from the Whos, the sweet littl
