(One Of The Best Law&Order Seasons !)
『It seems to take NBCUniversal quite a while to distribute the "good stuff" and the season six DVD is just that ... good stuff!

This was an action packed season coming off the heels of the best season ever for Law&Order. We are introduced to the "let's do it by the books and utitilize some technology while we are at" Rey Curtis played by Benjamin Bratt. His character is completely different from our beloved "Mikey" played so effectively by Chris Noth. The worst thing about season six is the departure of Jill Hennessy's character, ADA Claire Kincaid. I still skip the ending of her last Law&Order episode, After Shock. It is by far the worst ending Dick Wolf sanctioned for this show. He never should have killed off Claire. Of course, if he wants to get creative, I would love for Claire to return during this season from the Witness Protection Program. Jill are you busy (smile)? Jill has been the best female ADA on the series and her chemistry with Sam Waterson hits full stride during season six. They both rock!!

Bottom line: Grab this DVD as soon as it hits the market. You will not be disappointed. If you are a Law&Order junkie like me, you're just glad that NBCU finally has it ready. I just wish they would hurry and get all the seasons ready for distribution. Why the wait????

(Law&Order - Season 6 - FINALLY!)
『Season 6 of Law&Order begins with another cast change - Chris Noth is no longer present as Detective Mike Logan. As you may recall, in the 5th season finale, he punched out a city councilman who got away with murder and was mocking the outraged crowds. But Logan's action got him 'exiled' to Staten Island.

Benjamin Bratt takes his place as Detective Reynaldo 'Rey' Curtis. Curtis was a good cop, in need of some seasoning though, but on a personal note, I found him too parochially minded at times. The season ends with the surprising death of a main character, but to keep things interesting, I'm not listing the character here.

The 6th season of Law&Order continues the series tradition of addressing current social issues such as hate crimes, drugs, rape, racism, and various other crimes. This season also features the first crossover episode between Law&Order and Homicide: Life on the Street. Whether the episode from the second series is included in this set, I do not possess that information.

Of course, the cast delivers excellent performances as always, from the wise-cracking Lennie Briscoe, played by the late, much-lamented Jerry Orbach, to the passionately driven Jack McCoy played by Sam Waterston, as he relentlessly pursues justice in the cases he receives.

Now, Universal, get the rest of the seasons out!!!』

Also that families should appreciate one another more, a lesson that is learned by Kevin. The interaction between the boy Kevin and the would-be burglars is over the top, but is much appreciated by kids twelve and under. The good guys win, and the bad guys go to jail. When he is most afraid, Kevin seeks sanctuary in the house of God, the place of ultimate safety. The persistance of Kevin's mother in her attempts to return home to her son shows the depth of a mother's love. She is rescued by the kindness of strangers who show the true spirit of Christmas in sharing their ride with her.』

Forgot how violent it is. Had me stunned for a moment or two.
The props are somewhat old fashioned, but the style, story, acting, soundtrack and photography is superb. The BR transition is not to bad.

『I'm a 26 yo male and just watched this movie for the first time tonight after a Saturday night in.

I've heard about this movie my whole life. "Everyone" has seen it. "Everyone" loves it. I just don't get it. It was "okay." It kept me entertained, but not engaged. Yet, it was disappointing.

Maybe people are attracted to the violence or nudity in the movie, I don't know. It didn't offend me in anyway, if I want nudity I'll watch porn. I was hoping for something to take away from this movie so I could share in its glory with everyone else who I've ever heard talk about it.

I have no desire to see it again. I don't recommend it. If anything, watch it just so you can say you've seen it. It seems to come up in "movie conversation" every couple years or so. I'm more mad at myself than anything--I really wanted to like this movie, but I didn't. Maybe I should start a support group for the 1% of us who didn't enjoy it.』

『Teenage gang member&Beethoven enthusiast Alex deLarge is betrayed by his gang of street thugs&goes to prison. A model prisoner, Alex is offered an experimental treatment developed by the government called the Ludivico treatment, which is guaranteed to cure his ultra-violent tendencies&qualify him for early release from prison.
Eager to get out of jail, Alex begins the treatment which turns out to be a form of intense aversion therapy involving nausea-inducing drugs combined with forced viewing of violent visual imagery such as films of Nazi attrocities, designed to create a negative response to violence. During the treatment, Alex is horrified that some of the graphic films he is forced to watch are accompanied by his favorite song, Beethoven's 9th Symphony&sadly realizes that along with violence, he will also end up adverse to his beloved Beethoven.
When Alex's treatment is complete, the prison arranges a formal demonstration in front of a large audience of government&medical bigwigs. Alex is lead onstage where he is unwittingly put to the test in live situations involving sex&violence. Two scenarios are presented to him: an irritating man picks a fight with him, challenging him to brawl&a provacative woman stands before him topless, as if inviting him to ravish her. Each time Alex goes to act on his natural urges he is immediately struck by a feeling of intense terror-he can't breathe&feels as if he willl vomit. Finally he is brought to his knees on the stage floor, begging pathetically for mercy. The demonstration is deemed a success&the audience claps enthusiastically...but the sound of booming applause is interrupted when the prison chaplain quickly points out that Alex's so-called aversion to violence is obviously just a Pavlovian response to the conditioning of the Ludivico therapy, the resulting abstinence, nothing but a sad mechanical (like clockwork) reaction. Nonetheless, Alex is released early from prison as promised&goes home where he seems genuinely intent on starting over fresh as a reformed criminal.. Almost immediately however, he is met with conflict. He learns that his old street-gang mates have become police officers, a job where they are free to indulge the same violent behavior they did in their gang days-only legally (an ongoing theme in the movie)&they brutalize&beat him mercilessly.
Next, Alex crosses paths with a succession of past victims from his gang days, all eager for revenge. Unable to defend himself as a result of the Ludivico, he tries to end his life, jumping from a building in despair. When he wakes up, he is in the hospital, having suffered severe injuries, including head trauma as a
result of the suicide attempt. He learns that the brutal Ludivico treatment he suffered has been deemed cruel&inhumane by government detractors&that he is being sanctified&celebrated by the press&anti-government groups. Intent on damage control, a high ranking government official visits Alex in the hospital&apologizes to him profusely for the Ludivico treatment, assuring him that the government will compensate him for all his pain&suffering by reversing the treatment&returning him to his old self,&by kicking him a cushy government job with generous pay "a good job on a good salary", if he agrees not to speak out about the Ludivico treatment.
Alex enthusiastically agrees.
The last scene implies that Alex has indeed been cured&is once again enjoying the lifestyle of violence, depravity&Beethoven, as well as a new career with the government.

Alex always skips school and always been a troublemaker from the start, but during one night when he invades the home of a rich woman as he attacked and killed her, he is confined for a 14 year life sentence in Prison. But two years later the Government decides to make a program that can reabiliate crooks through special programming that can make them nice and normal citizens without commiting any crime as Alex is the first person to go through this program but can he remain sane and rational or will his horrible past haunt him?

A brilliant and unique Sci-fi drama from Stanley Kubrick is one of his greatest movies ever! this is based on a book by Anthony Burgess and has became one of the most influential movies ever. The performances by the cast including Star Wars's David Prowse as one of Alex's Droogs is superb especially McDowell. The film tells about society in the future gone terribly mad that uses memorable images, disturbing subject matter and an unforgettable electronic music score by Wendy Carlos. This is one trippy and wild motion picture no film fantatic should miss, it's a once-in-a-lifetime cult classic that has been acclaimed by critics everywhere and even caused controversy in it's time.

『The Jungle Book is one of those Disney classics that I never ever get tired of watching! It was the first ever Disney cartoon that my parents got me when I was a child. The characters in this masterpiece are wonderful and each and every one of them has a unique style and personality. Kudos to Rudyard Kipling for writing this beautiful story that will live on in our hearts for many years to come!』

『This is one of the most wonderfully imaginative movies that every child should see. It has wonderful imagery as well as a tone that encourages them to do their own imagining.

I remember loving this movie when I was a child. When it came to DVD, I bought it up immediately and found, to my surprise, that I still loved it. That's the charm of a well-told story. This is one that children will eat up and parents will enjoy watching with them: both to see their children's eyes light up as well as to simply watch this movie for themselves.

Some of the effects are a little cheesily done by today's standards, but you might be surprised to find that the vast majority are still quite nice even under the more jaded scrutiny of today's audience. That is a testament both of the love and care that was put into constructing this film, and also the simple fact that simple effects, used effectively, can be just as powerful to a story as full CG rendering.


The magic of this film gets diluted in the followups, but this is a classic that all children should see.』

(Imagination isn't all you need...)
『While I do appreciate this film for at least having some very grand and unique visuals, I can't say the same for the actual plot. Well, maybe not the plot itself, but the pacing. This movie goes by WAY too fast. I don't feel any real connection to Atreyu because the plot moves along to fast and doesn't pose any real threat to him until the very end. First, after the horse that I didn't care about and is INCAPABLE of emotion died after sinking into the swamp of SADNESS, Atreyu looks pretty depressed, but does he, a human CAPABLE of emotion not sink to his death, well eventually he starts to sink, but why doesn't it happen right away? Second, why did the film introduce us to the goblin, the rock-biter, and the...other guy, and spend so long establishing them if they have nothing to do with the movie at all. Lastly, and this is just a personal gripe, who in all hell has been so scared by a book where they have actually screamed out loud.

"And all of a sudden, the head of a giant turtle popped out"...

AAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!

I haven't read the book, but I have always enjoyed this movie. I think it's a movie that everyone should see at some point in their lives. As far as the people who expected the movie itself to actually NOT END... that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. If you actually pay attention to the movie, the point is that as long as people have hopes and dreams, the HUMAN story never ends.

The DVD itself isn't the best quality, but the movie was filmed in the early 80s.

The movie is $5. Buy it and decide for yourself if you like it or not. If you don't, you can always trade it in at a used video store. I also recommend checking out the sequel.

Missing (besides the second film, which will be released separately) is the effects- and music-only tracks. Added is a whopping DTS soundtrack along with a remixed Dolby 5.1 track. The DVD has a higher transfer bit rate for a better picture, but only high-end enthusiasts will notice it. Since the film is a digital-to-digital transfer, both versions are eye-popping. A must-have set unless you have theUltimate Toy Box.

Lasseter's story is universal and magical: what do toys do when they're not played with? Cowboy Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks), Andy's favorite bedroom toy, tries to calm the other toys (some original, some classic) during a wrenching time of year--the birthday party, when newer toys may replace them. Sure enough, Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) is the new toy that takes over the throne. Buzz has a crucial flaw, though--he believes he's the real Buzz Lightyear, not a toy. Lasseter further scores with perfect voice casting, including Don Rickles as Mr. Potato Head and Wallace Shawn as a meek dinosaur. The director-animator won a special Oscar for "the development and inspired application of techniques that have made possible the first feature-length computer-animated film." 『I've loved this ever since I was a kid. I love the plot, and the direction. It's a classic! Aladdin is a poor kid who lives in the streets of Agrabah who has to steal to eat His friend is a monkey named Abu. Princess Jasmine is being forced to marry, so she runs away. She meets Aladdin and they begin to fall in love. Jafar needs Aladdin to go to the Cave of Wonders to retrieve a lamp. When Aladdin becomes stuck in the cave, he meets the hilarious Genie that dwells within the lamp. Aladdin gets three wishes. When he goes back to Agrabah, everyone thinks he's a prince, with the help of Genie. Jafar gets the lamp, and brings destruction to Agrabah. Aladdin must stop him before it's too late. I highly recommend ALADDIN!!!』
