He would have made the movie better and I know a image of him was in the begining but I would like a sequel to this film. It would be called TMNT: The Return of The Shredder. It is so action packed, every time I watch it in bed I fall asleep. I like the part when Donatello is arguing with a customer about a computer service and mistake it for a man (who is actually a woman when he goes "sir. Sorry 'Mam'"). The parts with Raphel fighting on his bike reminds me of Ghost Rider. So get this film.』 (Mediocre return for the TMNT) ![]() ![]() ![]() 『I was a huge Ninja Turtles fan back in the late 80s/early 90s, so it's very cool to see the TMNT pick up in popularity again and return to the big screen. This movie however, isn't what it could've been. What works: The visuals of the Turtles are spot-on, and in computer-generated form they're more athletic and acrobatic than ever. There's one particular showcase fight sequence in the rain that is gorgeous. The film also nails the family dynamic between the Turtles and Splinter, from friendships and brotherly rivalry to the father-son dynamics. It's a deeper approach than the animated TMNT shows have taken, and it works. What doesn't work: The plot of the movie, involving an immortal conqueror and 13 monsters, comes off as a bunch of sci-fi nonsense. The story clashes with the grittier, grounded tone the rest of the film wants to take, and it's disappointment for anyone looking for some classic TMNT/Foot Clan action (the Foot Clan sans Shredder does appear, but only in a supporting role). The narrative isn't particularly well told either, and there are certain obvious gaffs such as when April repeats the entire history already explained in the opening narrative. Other bits and pieces seem to have been cut for time, and Mikey and Don get somewhat shortchanged in the screen time department. Finally, the designs for April, Casey, and the rest of the human cast don't hold up to other modern computer animation - they animate stiffly and lack originality. This animated movie is better than the 2nd and 3rd live-action films, but is still a distant second to the original 1990 film that represents the TMNT at their best. Longtime fans will probably want to own this and the curious should give it a rental, but there's not much here to draw general interest.』 (What Happened to The REAL Turtles?!!!!) ![]() 『This movie&game are a WASTE of time&money!! After the defeat of their old arch nemesis, The Shredder, the Turtles have grown apart as a family. Struggling to keep them together, their rat sensei, Splinter (Mako), becomes worried when strange things begin to brew in New York City. Tech-industrialist Maximillian J. Winters (Patrick Stewart) is raising up an army of ancient monsters, and only one super-ninja fighting team can stop them-- Leonardo (James Arnold Taylor), Michelangelo (Mikey Kelley), Donatello (Mitchell Whitfield) and Raphael (Nolan North)! With the help of old allies April O'Neil (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Casey Jones (Chris Evans), the Turtles are in for the fight of their lives as they once again must face the mysterious Foot Clan, who have put their own ninja skills behind Winters' endeavors. DVD Features: 『From a visual standpoint, this CG feature starring the venerable '80s and '90s superheroes the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is nothing short of slam-bang; the computer animation has a scope and look that transcends both the original comics and animated series and the three live-action features that preceded it. Writer/director Kevin Munroe creates a striking animated world for the four heroes in a half-shell to live, play, and fight in, and the action sequences are occasionally breathtaking in their speed and complexity. But whereTMNTstumbles is its bland plot, which picks up after the last of the live-action features with all four teen turtles in disarray, and abandons longtime villain Shredder in favor of an industrialist (well voiced by Patrick Stewart) who recruits the Foot Clan (including Karai, played by Zhang Ziyi) to revive thirteen ancient monsters to aid in his world domination scheme. It's a simple and fun story for kids, but longtime Turtles fans will miss the wry humor and smart sense of irony of the original comics (created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, who gets an executive producer credit here) in this storyline. Still, for most adolescent audience members, such concerns won't matter a whit in the face of the abundant action.--Paul Gaita』 『 TMNT 』 『 Fantastic Four - Rise of the Silver Surfer 』 『 Kung Fu Panda (Widescreen Edition) 』 『 Transformers (Two-Disc Special Edition) 』 『 Ghost Rider (Widescreen Edition) 』 another good item omega fetish『 Finding Nemo (Two-Disc Collector's Edition) 』 『 Monsters, Inc. You could feel the script writer going thru the previous IJ movies in order to establish a formula so that this one would follow the same patterns- the only problem is, that in this one you know exactly what he is doing and what scenes are comparable to the earlier ones. Shia L does not have the same natural charisma as people like Harrison or Sean Connery, much less Johnny Depp, etc. -that makes you want to watch what they are doing. I'd heard all the hype about it being a disappointment but still planned on buying it to add to my collection. I'm glad I did buy it after watching it. It's no Raiders of the Lost Ark but still is enjoyable. One thing that I did find grating was the pg-13+ language in it. I don't remember that in Raiders as much. So this chapter is pg-13 for more than the action/ violence so be warned. It was nice to see the Marian/ Indie romance pick up where it left off. I personally do feel that Harrison Ford would be stretching it way too far to pursue this character any further unless just in a supporting role. He can't carry that type of action anymore believeably. On the other hand I could see this franchise picking up where it left off with the newcomer to the storyline continuing in Dad's footsteps... But be realistic in your expectations because lightening seldom strikes twice in the same spot! J. Gibson (Winston-Salem, NC) 』 (Not great, but not awful either) ![]() ![]() ![]() 『Qualifying as gleeful entertainment, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull definitely doesn't come close to the greatness achieved by the first three Indy flicks, but it isn't nearly as bad as many have claimed it to be either. Harrison Ford makes a triumphant return to his defining role as the fedora wearing, whip wielding adventurer; who is coerced by a young greaser named Mutt (Shia LaBeouf) into taking a trip to Peru to rescue his mother (Raiders of the Lost Ark love interest Karen Allen) and friend (John Hurt) who knows the secrets of the fabled Crystal Skull. With a team of Soviets (led by Cate Blanchett) hot on his tail as well, the aging Indy certainly has his hands full. The biggest flaw of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is that it is ever so predictable. Any of the big twists, revelations, or surprises you will see coming a mile away; and the biggest plot element of all is so weakly inserted here that you'll wonder just what it's doing in an Indiana Jones movie. Still though, there's just something about the film that still makes it worth seeing regardless, with spectacular stunt work and action sequences, and the fact that Ford still stands tall as one of the best screen heroes in all of cinema history. All in all, despite its many flaws, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is an enjoyable romp that many will no doubt be split on, but in the end, seeing Indy back in action is reason enough to celebrate.』 (What was this--a movie or a farce?) ![]() ![]() ![]() 『Since the first spotlighted reviewer wrote exactly what I had to say, I have to re-think "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." What is there new to say? I adore Harrison Ford. Has he won that special Oscar yet? He should (but not for this role). Let's get right on to Karen Allen. "Marian, you're going to drive off the cliff." "Trust me, Indie. I know what I'm doing," and she does. She drives right onto a tree over the river and the car is gently delivered into the water. Wow! How is this possible? Because she is older and better? Because this is an Indiana Jones movie and the characters can do darn well anything they set their minds to doing. Then they skee-daddle right over a huge waterfall in that car. No problem. No broken bones. No concussions. Everyone lands a foot from their sitting place in the car and hops right back in. Then they do it again two more times over two more waterfalls. But my favorite action scene is when Indie and is-his-name-Mutt-or-Mudd? are riding the motorcycle through campus, trying to escape mad Russians representative of the Three Stooges minus one. Indie is pulled off the bike right through that little car window. After he wrestles around with the Stooge a bit, he slips right out that window onto the motorcycle again! Holy Moly! At his age he's that agile? One other thing that seriously bothered me was Indie opening the cocoons and allowing the folks inside to puff--go up in dust! No posterity! You'd think an archaeologist would know better. I do have a favorite scene: At the end when he and Marian kiss, it's such an old geezer kiss. Come on, Lucas and Spielberg, even as geezers we can still pucker out a wet one. I dozed off during this movie. I dozed during an Indiana Jones movie! What's wrong with the world? And that kid? Please don't make him the next "Indie" He doesn't have IT!』 『Studio: Paramount Home Video Release Date: 10/14/2008 Run time: 122 minutes Rating: Pg13』 『Nearly 20 years after riding his last Crusade, Harrison Ford makes a welcome return as archaeologist/relic hunter Indiana Jones inIndiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, an action-packed fourth installment that's, in a nutshell, less memorable than the first three but great nostalgia for fans of the series. Producer George Lucas and screenwriter David Koepp (War of the Worlds) set the film during the cold war, as the Soviets--replacing Nazis as Indy's villains of choice and led by a sword-wielding Cate Blanchett with black bob and sunglasses--are in pursuit of a crystal skull, which has mystical powers related to a city of gold. After escaping from them in a spectacular opening action sequence, Indy is coerced to head to Peru at the behest of a young greaser (Shia LaBeouf) whose friend--and Indy's colleague--Professor Oxley (John Hurt) has been captured for his knowledge of the skull's whereabouts. Whatever secrets the skull holds are tertiary; its reveal is the weakest part of the movie, as the CGI effects that inevitably accompany it feel jarring next to the boulder-rolling world of Indy audiences knew and loved. There's plenty of comedy, delightful stunts--ants play a deadly role here--and the return ofRaiderslove interest Karen Allen as Marion Ravenwood, once shrill but now softened, giving her ex-love bemused glances and eye-rolls as he huffs his way to save the day. Which brings us to Ford: bullwhip still in hand, he's a little creakier, a lot grayer, but still twice the action hero of anyone in film today. With all the anticipation and hype leading up to the film's release, perhaps no reunion is sweeter than that of Ford with the role that fits him as snugly as that fedora hat.--Ellen A. Director Brett Ratner simply lets his stars strut their stuff, so it hardly matters that the plot is disposable, or that his direction is so bland he could've phoned it in from a Jacuzzi. At its best,Rush Hour 2compares favorably to Chan's glossiest Hong Kong hits, and when the action moves to Las Vegas (where Don Cheadle makes an unbilled cameo), the movie goes into high-pitched hyperdrive, riding an easy wave of ambitious stuntwork and broad, derivative humor. Echoes ofBeverly Hills Copare too loud, however, and stale ideas (including a comedic highlight for Jeremy Piven as a gay clothier) are made even more aggravating by dialogue that's almost Neanderthal in its embrace of retro-racial stereotypes. In the movie, Richard Dawkins and one other gentleman whose name I do not recall are perfect examples of how non-sensical evolutionists sound. Dawkins explains that highly "evolved" men created (designed) life. Dawkins advocated design, demonstrating his problem isn't with Intelligent Design itself but with God. The other gentleman, when asked by Stein how life began, rambled about some ridiculous theory of how life began "on the backs of crystals." Huh? When Stein asked the evolutionist how life went from "mud" to man, the evolutionist rolled his eyes as if Stein was just not getting it. "I already told you," he bemused. "But I'll try again."
