(Powerful DVD !!!)
『This is a great live DVD by a great band. The outdoor show at Wacken is awesome. THe bands sound is perfect with Sheepers vocals searing through the air. The guitar leads are filmed from several angels that never miss. The indoor concert isn't quite as memorable but still rocks. I've watched this DVD with my friends who were unfamiliar with Primal Fear and they are now converted die hard fans. If you are a traditional Priest fan or a Power Metal fan this DVD will leave you satisfied!! Primal Fear need a U.S. tour soon!!!!』

(PRIMAL FEAR!!! PRIMAL FEAR!!!!)
『This is definitely one of the best music DVDs I have ever seen. These guys know how to rock and will certainly become legends.』

(Primal Fear tears it up live!!!)
『Primal Fear are one of the best heavy metal bands on Earth and this DVD drives that point home! I've had this for a few months now and I still watch it often. The band is super tight and Ralf Sheepers belts those screams out like they're nothing. I've actually converted a few people to the Primal Fear cause simply by showing them this DVD. Anyone with metal pumping through his or her veins will absolutely love it!

This DVD has 2 roughly 45 to 50 minute concerts. One is filmed at the wacken open air festival (during the day!!!) and the other is in a club in Stuttgart. Both of them are professionally shot and look and sound fantastic.

The extras include two videos:
Angel in black
Armageddon

There is also a "metal report" which is pretty much Ralf talking about PF and metal. There is also a little thing about which wrestlers they like toward the end of this EXTREMELY short segment. Fun nonetheless.

There is also a half hour bootleg section that shows (wait for it....) bootleg footage from various concerts around the world. Mixed in with this is some professionally shot snippets of live footage and also the recording of the "black sun" album. The recording bit was cool but it could have been longer.

So to close this up, if you're a PF fan and have never seen them live get this. If you're a PF fan and HAVE seen them live get this. If you aren't familiar with PF but love heavy metal get this!

Easily one of the best metal DVDs out there. Don't miss out on it!!!』

(Metal, the way it should be!)
『Five minutes with this DVD and any metal head will see why Primal Fear is one of the world's best metal bands. Ralf Scheepers is easily the most talented vocalist in the business, and this DVD certainly proves it.

After seeing Primal Fear live, I was very proud to see that there is no "BS" with this band. Every note is sang, and played just the way it was on their albums. This dvd is no different. History of Fear definitely does this incredible band justice, truly showing their talent on every track. In fact, I enjoyed this DVD as much as Hammerfall's "The Templar Renegade Crusades", and Iron Maiden's "Rock in Rio", and that's certainly saying something.

The dvd is pretty much a concert disc, showing many live performances. Sure, a bunch of goofy backstage scenes would have been great, but with 150+ minutes of live metal, what more can you ask for? Some of my favorite moments were seeing "Living for Metal" "Under your Spell" and "Eye of an Eagle" live, in all their glory.

Do yourself a favor. Buy "History of Fear" and enjoy every minute of its headbanging glory. Primal Fear rules.』

(The best music DVD I have seen so far.)
『I recently bought this DVD and I have to say that in terms of onstage performance, it is the best Music DVD I own; even better than such masterworks as Iron Maiden's "Rock in Rio", Manowar's "Blood in Brazil" and Dio's "Evil or Divine".

The two factors which make Primal Fear stand out from the crowd when playing live are the "tightness" of the band (it would be nearly impossible to get any tighter) and Ralf and Matt's vocal work. Having a backing singer who is of lead singer standard himself really makes the band excell. Henny also provides better backing vocals than most guitarists would and this adds to the effect.

In terms of extras, the videos are excellent and bootleg section is good, but some more interviews would have been a good idea.

You also get a Live CD with this DVD, making it great value for money.』

『Vice Admiral Takajiro Ohnishi could see that Japan's defeat in WWII was inevitable. He came to realize that the only way to force a negotiated solution was to convince the Americans that invading Japan would cause massive casualties on both sides. The cold logic of suicide attacks, where one man and one plane could kill hundreds, seemed the only solution. In one of the cruel ironies of fate, Ohnishi actually succeeded; he convinced the Americans that invading Japan would be too costly in lives. But what he could not foresee was that America had another way of ending the war.』

(This is One Killer Asteroid)
『Why is it that our portrayals of the future always end up looking quaintly dated, if not ugly, when that future comes? Look to any space-age building built in the `60s. Or, better yet, look to any space-age built made in the `60s.

1961's Phantom Planet is typical of what we today consider the B-movie genre. All the necessary elements are there: a ridiculous story, equally bad acting and even worse special effects. If you don't believe me, I implore you to seek out the film's trailer somewhere online. I dare you suggest that the mysterious "phantom planet" isn't actually a lump of coral. You'll gasp in horror at the sight of the plastic rock-men. I know you will, because that's precisely what happened to me.

Any fan of the show Mystery Science Theater 3000 knows what to expect from Phantom Planet, this is precisely the type of thing that Mike and the robots would've delighted over. But in fact, the nightmarishly bad production values of the film speak for themselves, and are hilarious without any further intervention necessary.

As is the standard with Legend Films releases, this DVD includes, as advertised, both the newly colorized version of the film, as well as the untouched black and white. Either you like color or you don't (I'd recommend the color in this case--I feel that it heightens immersion), but at least this set provides you with the option either way, which is more that can be said for some of the other versions floating around.』

『Set in the "distant future" of 1980,The Phantom Planetis a glorious sci-fi trip. Dean Fredericks plays an astronaut sent by the government to investigate a mysterious asteroid.  Before he can say "B-movie cliché", his ship is caught in a meteor shower, his partner floats away and a tractor beam begins to pull him in.  Soon Fredericks is shrunk down to the same size as the asteroids tiny inhabitants, and that's where the fun starts!  The Phantom Planetfinds our hero put on trial, caught in a love triangle, and conscripted to fight the terrifying alien menace that is the Solorite (led by character actor Richard Kiel), all before he can return home. A hilarious journey into the future of the past!』

『This an an excellent introduction to the painting process. It introduces and reminds us that seeing is the basis for painting - perception is all. This is a how to video that can actually teach you to paint.』
『Painting on location, in spite of the fresh air, can become a nightmare. The light changes the water alters, wind tears your paper, and flies can stick to your work. There are really no rules in painting, and photographs and sketches can become wonderful guides whether the artist is at the scene or not. In this program, the process of painting while on location outside of the studio will be explored while tips and guidelines are presented.』

(100% Shemp-Free Fun)
『Who needs that bum Shemp anyway? Swing Parade of 1946 is a full-feature musical comedy starring the terrific threesome as they bungle and bumble their way through another one of their harebrained schemes; this time unsuccesfully attempting work as nightclub waiters (which is the segue for the film's numerous musical performances).

Fans of the Stooges will relish the opportunity to see not just some of their rarer later work, but also Curly's last hurrah as a Stooge. By this time, everyone's favorite goofball had succumbed to illness, and it certainly shows on-screen, in his physicality, demeanor and lack of energy. It probably takes a more careful eye to notice the difference between his work in Swing Parade as compared to earlier shorts, and perhaps you'll relish the challenge as much as I.

Beyond the boys' performances, the highlight of this DVD is the colorization process applied by Legend Films. Growing up, I was only familiar with the Stooges through their extant black and white tapes. The oppressive gray monotone served as a barrier between a bygone era and my young self. I found that the colorization process (and it's quite good) allowed me to identify with the Stooges on a more human level than before. Now I see them as regular, blue-collar everymen, when before they were merely objects of amusement.

I'm sure that some you might object to the alteration of such nostalgic memories, and you're certainly right to feel that way. And Legend, thinking of us, has thoughtfully included a touched-up (though un-altered) black and white version of the movie on the same disc as the newly colorized version. So before you run off in disgust, just remember that at least this DVD gives you the option of viewing it either way.

Also deserving a mention is the "RiffTrax" commentary provided by Michael Nelson of Mystery Science Theater 3000. As a fan of the show, this was a truly special treat. This particular commentary is a special option that allows you to hear Nelson's hilarious mocking sarcasm during the film. Though typically reserved for making fun of bad science fiction movies, trust me when I say that it makes absolutely any film that much funnier.

Also included in this DVD are a few notable shorts, making Swing Parade a true must-purchase for the Stooge fan (look at how much you get!).』

『The Three Stooges star as waiters in a night club where Carol Lawrence (Gale Storm), an aspiring singer, auditions for a job. When the night club owner falls for Carol, the Stooges plot to get the two together, despite the interference from the club owner's father, who wants him to join the family business. It's classic Stooges! Presented in color for the first time and beautifully restored.』

(A much more immature version Whoop-di-doo)
『If you don't know the plot to this, but do know the plot to the original, you know the plot to this. Melody is just a brattier clone of Ariel. She runs off and defies her parent's wishes and asks a sea with who's half mis-colored human and half octopus and has pet eels to change her into a mermaid. In exchange, the sea-witch with hair that's white and goes straight up pretty much just uses the kid to get Triton's trident.

Yes, it is the EXACT same thing with the love story cut out, a horrible personality replacing the loveable one, and circumstances have changed so she is never doing the right thing.

While Ariel defied her father because she had wanted to be human for so long and her father had anger issues, Melody wants to be a mermaid about 2 minutes after learning about them and won't let her mother talk. While Ariel had the ultimatum of having to get Eric to fall in love with her while sacrificing her voice, Melody is asked to go steal straight off the bat and pretty much sacrifice nothing. While Ariel feels sorry for hurting her father after turning human, Melody throws a huge tantrum at her mother who says she's been worried sick looking for her. While Ariel knows its wrong to steal and told her father not to exchange places with her in Ursula's contract, Melody finds out that Triton is a nice guy, but steals the trident anyway. While Ariel tries to fight Ursula even when Ursula has the trident, Melody's survival instincts are purely comprised of falling over and sitting where she is no matter what the villains do.

Does she learn her lesson in the end? ...I honestly don't know.

Melody seems to exude other flaws as well. Her voice acting is pretty bad, though everyone else's is okay. Since most of the animation is of her, she seems pretty bad, being choppy sometimes, and just badly animated at others. She overshadows many characters. Eric seems oblivious to his daughter personality flaws and Ariel seems really withdrawn, most likely to not having been in the ocean for over ten years (this could have been expanded on as it was an interesting concept, but it had to make way for Melody's superfluous scenes, which is yet another flaw), and Melody is an idiot. You'd think Ariel and Eric's kid wouldn't be that dumb.

Lastly, the ending is Melody declining an offer from her grandfather to be a mermaid again (the mer-maid spell wore off), but instead she wants the wall between the castle and the sea that was built to keep her out of the sea and thus away from the sea-witch (it never worked) destroyed. She couldn't have asked daddy, who had it built? How long is this non-mermaid thing going to last, given that she'd steal for it? Her grandfather and bother her parents are doting, implying she'll be spoiled no matter where she is. How's the audience going to trust her? Are they supposed to or are they supposed to embrace her bratty personality?

As a side note, where did Ariel's sister's go? Triton was the only person at the palace and if Ariel and Triton were looking for Melody in the ocean, wouldn't her sisters want to help?』

(Its Ok Not Theire Best!)
『Ok, So I have The Original Version That Came Out And The Music In This Film Is Better Then "Ariel's Begining" However The Graphics Kind Of Suck! Ariel Looks Younger Insted Of Older And Flounder Look Huge like a Big Fat Puffer Fish! But Overall The Film Is Ok!』
『Disney's amazing undersea classic lives on in an all-new story bursting with the same captivating music style, unforgettably colorful characters and brilliant animation that made the original film an Academy Award®-winning favorite.
After rejoicing over the birth of their daughter Melody, Ariel and Eric must face a new threat from Ursula s revengeful sibling Morgana, a threat that forces them to hide Melody's true mermaid heritage. Melody, a young princess curious about her roots, ultimately ventures into the sea against her parents wishes. There she meets new friends and in her dream to become a mermaid becomes a pawn in Morgana's plot to gain control of the Seven Seas. Ariel must reunite with her childhood friends Sebastian, Flounder and Scuttle to rescue her daughter and restore harmony to her family.
An all-star cast returns, including Jodi Benson (Ariel) and Samuel E. Wright (Sebastian) for a remarkable adventure teeming with surprises, a new deleted song and all-new game.

『Ariel and her husband, Prince Eric, have a little problem with their daughter, Melody, in the sequel to Disney's landmarkThe Little Mermaid. Melody is threatened by Morgana, the evil sister of the sea witch Ursula (both voiced by Pat Carroll). Before you can say "Briar Rose," Melody's parents decide to keep their daughter's roots a secret, forbidding her to learn about the ocean while Morgana is around. Now the budding teenager secretly frolics in the sea with Ariel's old friends, Sebastian and Scuttle. When she learns the truth from Morgana, Melody becomes an unknowing pawn in her scheme--and Mom has to take to the sea again to help.

As with Disney's other made-for-video sequels,The Little Mermaid IIlooks and sounds wonderful (and reunites much of the same vocal talent). Four- to nine-year-olds who grew up with the original will certainly enjoy seeing the friends again. A new set of artists has come up with four catchy tunes and some fun new characters, including Tip and Dash, a pensive penguin and his blubbery walrus friend. Yet, whereBeauty and the Beasthad a deliberate Christmas-themed sequel, andPocahontastold the tale of her historical trip to England, the plot here is very forced. It is pretty much a rehash of the first film with different characters. Tip and Dash are a reincarnation of Timon and Pumbaa, and Morgana is exactly like her sister, except thinner. Besides the stellar music, this unneeded sequel also misses another important aspect of the original--heart.--Doug Thomas

(As Amazing as Claimed)
『I saw the musical on Broadway several years ago, and I have to say that the film does an excellent job of capturing the engery of a live performance. The cast is superb, the music is still fresh, the jokes are still funny, and the layers of reality are done exttremely well. I recently viewed this and Joseph: King of Dreams back-to-back, and there is no doubt that this is the far better retelling of the story.
This mucical is appropriate for even small children, but it is not a children's show.
I would recommend this to just about everyone.』

『Joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat dvd. it is a great story done to professionalism of this cast. i have enjoyed it in many forms and love the enthusiasm of the entire cast.』

(Any Dream Will Do...)
『This retelling of "The Coat of Many Colors" is a fanasty full of delighful music.
Set as a grade-school production, the staff of the school is featured in the various roles with the gym's stage morphing and flowing into the Pinewood 007 Studios, where the bulk of the film was shot.
Donny Osmond shows his skills in the title role, travelling from a happy boyhood in Cannan, to a tearful and scary Egyptian jail, and finally to the side of Ramses' throne as a noble Prince. The 40 year old actor is believable as both an 18 year old youth and the older, mature royal advisor.
Maria Friedman has too much fun as the Narrator. She strolls through the desert, dances with the brothers, and sips drinks in the shadow of the Sphinx. Her bouncy step and emotional face change for each number to support Joseph/Don in his plights.

With musical themes from the Roaring 20's, the Rocking 50's, the Mod 60's, the Soulful French Canteens, and the American WildWest Saloons, this movie deserves the large box of popcorn. You won't want to have to miss a thing!』

(A dream of a production.)
『I have never enjoyed a musical production so much as I did "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat". The magic between Donny and the children was wonderful and filled me with a warmth of which I've never before experienced. And lastly, I thoroughly enjoyed Maria Friedman's performance. And, as usual, the quality of the CD was superb.

『Following the successful 1998 video release ofCatscomes another Andrew Lloyd Webber blockbuster musical,Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and it's a savvy choice. It hasn't been represented on film before, it's short enough (78 minutes) to present without cuts, and it has the star power of former teen icon Donny Osmond, who played over 1,800 performances across North America. Rather than record a live performance,Catsdirector David Mallet conceivedJosephas a film, though one that is based strongly on codirector Steven Pimlott's 1991 London revival and relies more on camerawork than venturing beyond its stagelike sets.

Lloyd Webber's first project with lyricist Tim Rice was originally written in 1968 as a school cantata; accordingly, this film uses a framing sequence of a school recital, with an audience of clapping, singing kids and members of the faculty playing the roles. The Old Testament tale of Joseph and his coat of many colors gets a splashy, vigorous treatment with an energetic cast, Las Vegas-style glitz, and catchy, eclectic songs, including "Any Dream Will Do," "Close Every Door," the peppy "Go, Go, Go Joseph," and various bits of country, calypso, and Elvis. Osmond is perfect in the title role, with a strong voice and winning persona, while London stage veteran Maria Friedman performs well in the central role of the narrator. Richard Attenborough appears (and sings a little) as Jacob, and Joan Collins makes a brief, nonsinging cameo.

Josephcertainly isn't revolutionary musical theater, but if you view it as a kids' show, it's a silly good time (though there are poignant moments too). Parents should note, however, that this production might warrant a little discretion due to one suggestive scene and some risqué costumes.--David Horiuchi
