『I love this DVD and use it more than any of my other yoga DVDs. It is easy to follow and perfect for beginners, but also has a very good intermediate session (and you can run the two simultaneously). I highly recommend.』

『I watched this dvd first and thought that Eoins' voice would be irritating and distracting. Not the case. The sequencing is nice and moves at a good pace. It has several different poses that are are not in any of my other yoga dvd's. Filmed on the beach. The two students were "real" people. Yoga is about your here and now, and it was nice to seem the students quiver and not be able to reach their leg straight to the heavens. I would recommend this dvd to someone who has the basics and understands proper alignment in common poses as Eoin doesn't offer much instruction. One draw back.......the 7 practices are all the same.....just "chapters" added or removed to change the length of your practice.』

『This elevates the art of yoga instruction DVDs to a new level. It's fantastic to see someone actually USE the functionality of a DVD to full effect to produce such a high quality product.

There are two basic 40 minute ashtanga sessions here - one for beginners, and one for intermediate level yogis (really, it's the same session but at two different levels of intensity). You can watch one or the other - or have BOTH on screen at the same time in order to modify between them. What a great idea!

Furthermore, you can choose music and/or a breathing backing track to keep you focused. Or you can choose silence and put on your own music. Even better, you can access individual sections on each of the key poses, where Eoin Finn takes you - in detail - into the pose, how to do it, how to get the correct alignment, and how to get the most from the pose.

I've been doing ashtanga for a couple of years now, using several different DVDs, and THIS is the DVD I've been waiting for. Simple but not simplistic; challenging but not impossible; educational but not patronising; straightforward but not boring; practical in terms of time (who can't spare 40 minutes in a day??), yet comprehensive in terms of what it covers in the session. This is a great introductory DVD, or perfect for experienced yogis who want to deepen their practice by focusing on the purity and simplicity of the key ashtanga poses.

HIGHLY recommended. Also commendable in that it adheres to a key principle that ashtanga yoga and the wellness it can bring are for everyone; not just those considered to have the "proper" yoga physiques...』

『I'm new to yoga and have tried countless instructors and DVDs. I've never clicked with any of them until Eoin. I love this DVD! It is great for a beginner yogi up to an advanced. I really like the DVD section where Eoin has an assistant demonstrate the pose while he describes how your body should be aligned etc. Eoin is really sweet and totally relaxing on this DVD.』

『I love Yoga Zone Videos and DVDs. I find they are excellent for beginners and easy to follow without hurting myself. There are two 20 minute sessions on each video or DVD. I try to warm up every morning with a short Yoga practice. I do a 20 minute session during my lunch break. I try to do a session before I go to bed. I find that when I practice YOGA everyday it really helps to alleviate my body aches and pain that I have from sitting and working at a computer all day. If I stop practing yoga, the pain comes back and then I pull out my YOGA Zone videos and DVDs and start my practicing all over again.』

(Good intro to yoga, bad for anyone with a wrist, shoulder, or elbow injury.)
『Watch the video first, don't even try to do the poses. Then try to follow along, and be prepared to either rewind or skip.

『I really like this product. I've had it for almost 2 years. I like it because it is easily understood, safe and the poses are good for a beginner while still being challening. I like the length of the sessions to as they are easy to fit into a busy day. I use the PM yoga routine religiously after my runs at night to stretch muscles stressed from running, to relieve stress, and maintain flexibility. In fact, I bought this product to help me manage work stress and I highly recommend it for that alone.』

The scenery is beautiful, Susan's words are inspirational&on cue, but the pace of speaking is slow. This workout seems to be geared to absolute beginners with limited flexibility&endurance. There are a lot of short breaks between poses. There is heavy use of blocks&straps&many poses are modified. If you have decent flexibilty, just don't use these props.
The AM starts with 5 min of breathing, then child's pose, lunges, standing fwd bend, chair pose w/breathing, mountain pose, modified standing thigh stretch, standing wide legged torso side stretches, triangle, side angle, standing wide legged stretch. Then sitting torso twist, butterfly (no going down), modified boat. Laying down, a simple sustained ab crunch, knee to chest stretch, knee to side spinal twist, bridge pose. Laying on stomach, raising torso on ground with hans still on ground. Then downward dog&sitting in meditation.
PM: Begins with 5 min of scenery&mountain pose with breathing. Using towel, simple shoulder stretch, child's pose, downward dog, lunges, standing wide legged stretch, downward dog, child's pose, staff pose, modified sitting 1 legged fwd bend, sitting wide legged simple torso stretches, sitting 1 leg out to side torso side stretch. Laying down 1 straight leg to sky stretch, straight legs in air (very modified plow), knees to chest, knee to side spinal twist&ends in meditation.
The Bonus 20 min breathwork is a more normal pace, beginners' workout with out props&full poses. Twisted seated position, standing fwd bend, mountain, modified standing 1 legged pose, warrior 1, standing stretch for thighs, wide legged standing fwd bend. Then half kneeling torso side stretch, then lying down: locust, bow&bridge, 1 leg in air stretch&to the side. Then ab work while on elbows&legs raised in various degrees. Then seated twisted sage pose, sitting 1 straight leg stretch, seated wide legged sterch&ends with seated 2 min meditation.

The 5 min trailer is still at gaiam com but not sure how much longer.』


(Nice Workout, but Weight Loss?)
『This DVD has two pleasant and well-balanced yoga routines, but the "weight loss" is just a title and a couple of kind words in the introduction. If you have a limited amount of time and want to maximize pounds lost, this isn't the right choice for you.
Also, be warned that you do need props (blocks and a strap) to do the poses as instructed.』

『This DVD gives two good structured workouts. They are propped but can be done without if you have some experience. I would say this is more intermediate than beginner as the queueing is somewhat basic and may be too quick of you are very new to yoga. I do find that I need a good warm up before I can do the AM workout as opposed to the AM section of the AM/PM yoga for beginners DVD. Still a good additional option.』

『Having never done yoga in my life, I decided to give it a try to help reduce my stress levels. I have very little free time so I didn't want to have to commit to an hour at a time knowing I'd never do it. As a result of too much stress I was having trouble with my neck, shoulders, and back. The first week or so the poses were hard but not impossible to preform. I could really tell where the tension was in my body! I've been doing this dvd faithfully for almost three weeks and the difference is amazing. The tension is all but gone, I am much stronger in the poses, I feel much more relaxed and sleep better!

The program itself is put together nicely...soft, unobtrusive music; beautiful scenery; and the instruction is easy to follow with very clear explanations. Suzanne does use yoga blocks which I recommend...they really help in the morning workout when you are less flexible. She also uses a yoga strap and wedge. Obviously, you can't just do this workout and lose weight. As Suzanne says on the dvd, it's part of a healthy lifestyle.

Being a Christian, I hesitated to do yoga because I didn't want to be pressed upon by the belief system behind it but I don't feel that at all with this dvd. It's an excellent workout and I highly recommend it!』

『I am very impressed with all the different options this DVD presents. This, along with their Yoga Quick Fixes present short sets which can always accommodate you when the mood strikes. There is something for everything here. Whether you have a particular ailment or
not, all the sets work on building and guarding your health as well as strengthening and toning your body. This is a good beginner to intermediate (I would imagine advanced yogis (if they actually exist would benefit too) workout with very little breath of fire, and I would recommend it to anyone at any level. The most challenging set is the Strong Bones&Muscle Tone and it really makes me break a good little sweat for the amount of time. After any short set from either of these DVDs I can jump in the shower feeling totally energized and
connected to my core - and I love the fact that I can do it before work and feel I have really done a great practice before I have walked out the door! Wonderful!』

『Dr. Yoga House Call is one of the latest offerings from the husband/wife team of Ravi Singh/Ana Brett. In the same style as their previous videos, House Call features Ana alone on screen, practicing on a small rug in an all-white room, while she and Ravi take turns providing voiceover instruction. You'll recognize some of the music and yoga sequences from their previous videos, but there's plenty that's brand new here as well.

As you can see, House Calls offers sets designed to address more chronic conditions--unlike Quick Fixes, which focuses on more common, transient issues. I also found the practices on House Call to be more active than on Quick Fixes, including more use of Breath of Fire and more arm movements, which made the practices feel pretty challenging at times.

If you are a die-hard Ana/Ravi fan, you will probably want to add both this DVD and Quick Fixes to your collection. However, if (like myself) you are more of a dabbler in Kundalini Yoga, you may prefer Quick Fixes, which in my opinion contained practices that were more generalizable as well as a bit less strenuous.

In summary, this is a well-done, well-produced DVD of energizing Kundalini yoga practices, and I give it a final rating of 4 1/2 stars.』

『This DVD was included with the 6 disc Ultimate Collection (which I highly recommend) and is my absolute favorite out of all the Yoga Zone DVDs I own. I agree with some of the other reviewers that the instructor, Jean, can be a little mundane at times. She can come off sounding scripted and even stumble over her words which I find amusing. She's not as engaging as some of the other instructors like Jen Monness but she gives you one hell of a "tune-up"!!

When I began these sessions I had just finished a semester long yoga class in college (while supplementing with Yoga Sculpting on my days off) so my stamina/endurance was already pretty high. I found the sessions to be a wonderful way to boost energy and immediately incorporated them into my daily yoga routine.

As with all the Yoga Zone DVDs, I appreciate the encouragement the instructors give to only go as far as you're comfortable while providing suitable alternatives to those who are not as limber. They make sure you understand that breath and posture are major components of each pose (especially important for beginners). They provide gentle reminders on how to breathe and when to breathe so that you can use your breath to better your technique and move deeper into a pose.

I'm ashamed to say I let myself fall out of practice. Now that I'm turning back to yoga, this DVD is still by far my favorite. I'm not as strong as I used to be so I find that the poses challenge me. I really do feel myself "building heat," I break a sweat now and I can feel my heart rate increase. I enjoy the second session which focuses entirely on posture, breath and leg strength. Unlike exercise, which can leave you feeling drained, I feel refreshed and energized. For something to open my eyes in the morning, it beats out Starbucks any day!』

(Elevates your heartrate, not a relaxing tape)
『I use this DVD as a cardio substitute when I cannot do my regular cardio exercise. It has 2 20-minute sessions that could be done separately or together as I do them. The tape elevates the heartrate and keeps it elevated during the entire two sessions. Jean was very easy to follow and the poses flowed together very well. Ackward Chair and Ski Chair poses were a challenge and the thighs get a good workout with all the balancing poses she does. You can make this workout as hard as you want just by changing how deep you go into the poses. Modifications to each pose were always mentioned. I thought session 2 was harder than session 1 but that could be because my thighs were already tired from doing the first session or because session 2 are all standing poses. I highly recommend this tape to anyone regardless of experience or flexibility. It was fun and provided a good alternate workout in a short amount of time.』

『For anyone who has ever bought a workout DVD and been disappointed that said DVD was something other than what they expected -- this is not that DVD. It is exactly what it says, and it does what it says it does to your body. I bought all three DVD's but this first one is the only one I've tried so far. I also own Brian Kest's "Power Yoga" and several Rodney Yee Yoga DVD's. I have purchased Baron Baptist's videos also but, since I had Brian Kest and Rodney Yee, I didn't see a need to confuse myself with something else, so I gave them to my sister.

I wanted to give this Budokon a try because I am a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and wanted something that incorporated what I love to do anyway with a eye towards fitness rather than martial arts. What's so nice about this program is that he very clearly gives a lesson on each of the various new moves independent of the actual workout. That way you can practice the moves, then get into the workout. So many DVD's just jump right in and expect you to keep up. Not this one.

Anyway, very highly recommended. I use it as much as my Brian Kest DVD.』

『I bought this dvd as well as the strength dvd because of the yoga aspects included. The best thing about this dvd is it gives instructions on each move. You can start the practice and when a move comes on, hit a button on the remote to go to the instuctional segment, then push another button and it will return to the routine where you left off. NICE!!!!

If you are interested in the yoga part, then that really is only good for half the dvd, the first half. the second half moves into martial arts moves, which are too fast for me and a bit hard on my joints...the jerking action of some of them. It may help improve strength. I can't tell you as i haven't stuck with this routine. I do think about it but i really enjoy the bryan kest yoga dvds. he is my favorite choice hands down. for me i feel like i get strength, stretching, and calmness from his workouts. If you like the mixture of yoga and martial arts, then go for it. Not so much my thing.』

『I rented this online&wow, Cameron does NOT fool around. Even though this is mainly a 55 min advanced yoga workout in terms of stretching&body awareness, this has many poses&movements that are from Martial arts like Kung Fu, Judo, grappling movements.
The workout is great in that it's interactive that if when demonstrating a move, if you need more instruction, by simply hitting the enter button, you can access the detailed instruction in the tutorial. Automatically it will take you back to the workout right before he does the move so you can then follow along more easily.
The set is simple&the lighting/production values are high quality gorgeous.

This is not for those who don't work out regularly&don't have good body strength like being able to do a crow or better strength. This is also not for those who aren't at least advanced beginner yoga practitioners who know the basic poses&can execute them safely.
I tried this workout, and got about 15 min before he did that switch feet pose that requires you hold your body weight on your straight arms for a second at a time&I couldn't do it.
I enjoyed the beginning starting with a 5 min meditation, then cat/cobra switching poses, downward dog/cobra switching poses, downward dog/bent knee/foot to hand stretch, bent knee/foot to hand hip opener though&my spine&hips felt much more relaxed.

『I consider myself an intermediate yoga practitioner. I found this DVD so frustrating! The first disc was overly wordy. I felt Seane wouldn't stop over explaining poses. (Good for beginners possibly?) Oh - and on that topic, she never named the poses. Odd? After watching ten minutes of the first disc, I popped in the second, hoping for some challenging flow.

I was shocked to find absolutely NO verbal cues accompanied her movements. Nothing. This is so disappointing considering you can do serious damage to your neck by looking up in full poses. I really can't believe Gaiam released this DVD. Did anyone on the editing crew actually think about what this might be like to actually follow? How am I to know when to when to move into different poses without watching the screen constantly? I've done hundreds of hours of yoga, and this was by far one of the worst DVD's I've bought. It's near impossible to follow.

I'm sure Seane is a great instructor... when she's actually instructing. I thought I was buying an at-home-yoga-class on DVD. I have no use to watch her move through a beautiful vinyasa.

Save your money. Skip this DVD.』

What I appreciate most about this DVD is the way in which Seane focuses on alignment and breathing in the vinyasa. I also found, for a beginner, that her explanations were very helpful and I notice something new about them every time I use the DVD. I also the way she builds up her "Sun Salutes...to their kind of completion" (as she puts it) piece by piece--I've found Sun Salutes kind of dizzying, so slowly assembling them bit by bit was very helpful. I appreciate very much how much she focuses on alignment. I find she hits a very happy medium for me between hyperactive ashtanga flows (hard for a beginner to jump into...) and the often slow pace of Iyengar beginners classes.

As someone who deals with anxiety issues, I found her discussion in the interview about yoga and her OCD to be very interesting and inspiring.』

I appreciate this since you can cancel benefits of any practice/workout with improper breathing and movements. It is long but the chapters are arranged nicely; we usually break it into two segments, around 30 min ea(alternating days).
