Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (A masterpiece and emotional roller coaster) 『When I first heard about this musical, I had absolutely no desire to go see it. How can you possibly turn such a gut-wrenching film into a musical? Well, you can. This album will bring you to Sunday Church and back from the first song to the last. It is a wonderful mix of sad, happy, self-realization, and love songs incorporating hopes, desires and memoirs of most characters.
Even if you have not seen the musical I recomend it. The inside notes give you just enough information to follow the story from song to song and even if you see the musical later, you will be able to focus on the staging and costuming (which are also fabulous) and maybe even sing along (just not too loud).』
(Bothersome and Disappointing!) 『I am a huge fan of the Speilberg fim (I still think it's his best work..and not an alien or dinosaur in sight..), and found the book to be profoundly moving, so I had high hopes for the musical. However, now I just don't see the point. How can a musical in 2 and a half hours capture all the power and beauty of Alice Walker's book, or Spielberg's masterpiece of a film. It can't. Even though the performances are all first rate, LaChance is wonderful as Celie, it all seems strained and forced, as though the writers were desperate to incorporate all the elements of the book and film into the musical, and it doesn't always work. The finale doesn't come close to the sheer power and beauty of the ending of the film. And while the score has a couple pleasant melodies to recommend, on the whole it seems to be a hodge-podge of music, and the orchestrations don't help. They don't seem to fit the period. Start with the overture which sounds like the soundtrack for a bad 70's movie, it's too brassy and too synthesized. If you are a true theater fanatic, or a devotee of the book or movie, stay away, you'll be hugely disappointed.』
("An Amazing Musical!") 『This Compilation of songs from "The Color Purple" is nothing other than Absolutely Amazing! I have not been able to see this musical on Broadway, but I know that it is Amazing from this SPECTACULAR recording!』
(colour purple) 『When the movie came out, i was totally engrossed.Naturally when it came to Broadway , i had to have the music.I enjoyed the music but something was missing.Probably if i had seen the Broadway show it would be complete.I can't say that i had to have this to add to my collection, but instead it is an interesting addition. Not one of the best.』
(See the PLAY - it's AWESOME!) 『I listened to this CD before I saw the play and it was "OK". After I saw the play I FELL IN LOVE with the music because it was so much more meaningful! Enjoy!』 『On paper, this adaptation of Alice Walker's best-selling novel has all the markings of a hit. It makes Oprah Winfrey's debut as a theater producer, the libretto is by Marsha Norman (Night Mother), and the lyrics and music are by a trio of seasoned pop pros: Allee Willis (the eccentric woman behind "Neutron Dance" and the theme fromFriends), Stephen Bray (who worked on such Madonna hits as "True Blue" and "Express Yourself"), and Brenda Russell (the smooth soul-jazz songstress behind "Piano in the Dark"). That team has put together a series of fairly catchy songs that may lack depth but adeptly handle various idioms like gospel ("Mysterious Ways"), R&B ("Push Da Button"), and African rhythms ("African Homeland"). Though the inspirational vibe can get a bit much, softening the edges and preventing genuine artistic complexity,The Color Purpleis a great showcase for its cast. As Celie, LaChanze delivers one of her usual sensitive performances, but watch also for Elisabeth Withers-Mendes's Shug--who sings a passionate paean to Celie ("Too Beautiful for Words")--and Renée Elise Goldsberry's Nettie (duetting with LaChange on "African Homeland"). The chance to hear these women strut their stuff almost makes up for the show's weaknesses.--Elisabeth Vincentelli』

I just purchased my first plasma, and the picture of Nature's Colors was so clear...beautiful scenery and sharp colors. The best thing about this HD DVD is that I can show off my new HDTV while entertaining with the nature scenes accompanied with serene classical music. I recommend it!!』
(I was pleased...) 『Perhaps my expectations weren't as atmospheric as some, but I really enjoy this DVD and watch it all the time. I put the HD side through my 42 inch plasma and it looks and sounds magnificent. Some of the scenes were so vibrant and colorful it seemed unreal. Of course it wasn't all spectatcular but there was enough to satisfy me. I agree Planet Earth on HD is a better DVD (set), but it is also a different one. It is geared toward education and has a lot animals scenes. Nature's colors is for relaxing - lovely music accompaniement. Perfect for puttering around the house or sitting with a drink chatting to friends. I recommend!』
(What a disappointment!) 『Unfortunately to my dismay this HD DVD fails to live up to its own statement "stunning high definition 1080i". What a big disappointment! It simply falls far below of my expectation.
Although a step up from standard definition DVD, the transfer has added only some detail and depth, hardly any 3-D effect. Certain scenes are too grainy to my eyes. There's a scene (beach, wave heating the rocks) in the last song..geez...it's blur&worse than a DVD.
Some scenes are indeed repetitive. The consolations are: It gives you a kind of relaxation mood or calming effect seeing the nature sceneries&I quite enjoy the classical music pieces. 』
(Disappointing Picture Quality) 『What a pitty such a good idea but the picture Quality is not constant 70% is ok but unfortunatly a lot of disappointing scene's inbetween ruins a good concept. If you are looking for a nature disc in High DEF buy Planet Earth.』
(Overrated Scenery) 『This DVD fails to deliver high quality photography of nature's colors and some scenes are repetitive. Music pieces end just as they are starting to become enjoyable. I was disappointed.』 『This stunning High Definition 1080i video release is accompanied by the world's greatest and most recognizable music - from Bach to Beethoven to Ravel to Debussy - all in True HD and Dolby Digital Plus Surround.
From Bora Bora to Africa, from the Midwest to the Pacific Coast, from Costa Rica to Bali, from Hawaii to Arizona, from the Rocky Mountains to the Redwood Forest - this is Nature at it's most colorful and beautiful.』

(Dated, but packed with '90s Goodness!) 『Listening to this in 2007, it sounds very obviously dated, but still, its a telling remnant of the early 1990s soundscape. The great part about this is that it has two songs that STILL sound amazing - "I Adore Mi Amor" and "Thinkin' Back", while most of the others sound very, very generic.
The early 90s pop machine was a strange thing indeed - much of it sounds terrible today. But this album still stands out because of its high hit quotient (six Billboard Hot 100 singles - a remarkable achievement).
Should you buy this? Yes. Its definitely more memorable than the later days output of say, the Backstreet Boys - but if you're looking for some wholesome 1990s goodness, you can do much worse than this.』
(COLOR WHO WHAT??!) 『oh baby, this is precious, someone here is actually comparing CMB to The Beatles?!?! Is that why CMB's CD is selling for a whopping 21 cents? I'd love to continue but the urge for uncontrollable laughter is just way too much, ha ha ha ha ha ha..........』
(Color them badd.) 『Most likely when someone tosses out the term boy-band, N'Sync or Backstreet Boys come to mind. However, Color Me Badd was doing their thing years before those two groups, and much better. Ok, so New Kids On The Block were around too, but they weren't as badd. These guys have a "Best Of" out also, but the best of that is basically right on this album. Included is their biggest hit "I Wanna Sex You Up". That track was in the movie "New Jack City", and is also here in reprise form. Other hits were "I Adore Mi Amore", "Thinkin' Back", and the extremely catchy "All 4 Love". The bottom line is that these guys were so badd they were good, and where else are you gonna get George Michael, Terence Trent D'Arby, Vanilla Ice, and Kenny G on the same album?』
(One of My all-time favorites!) 『Way back in 1992 I first listened to Color Me Badd and ever since I have loved their music! What I like about them is their great voices and the cool variety of music mixed in with an urban feel. My favorite singer of the band is Mark Calderon. He has such a wonderful voice and I love the songs that he has a good amount of time singing in. If you love Color Me Badd or love to hear a band that you are not familiar with then I strongly recommend that your purchase this CD today!』

It will certainly stir emotions experienced in the movie and remind you again of just how touching the story of Celie is. Enjoy the bluesy sounds of Shug Avery singing in the juke-joint as well as the church choir belting out the sounds of 'God's tryin' to tell you something!' The rhythm of the African drums and chants will spark your soul and the theme music will bring a tear to your eye as you envision the cloud of dust behind the car bringing Nettie and the kids back home to Celie. Go watch the movie later, you know you want to! Don't forget the tissues, though!!』
(Good Music Short Songs) 『This CD has some wonderful music on it, however there is nothing beyond what was literally in the movie. So there are some great songs that are only 30 seconds long. That was quite disappointing.』
(Wonderful Album) 『This is a wonderful soundtrack! I originally owned the cassette version of it. My 2 favorite songs are "Sister (Miss Celie's Blues)" and "Maybe God's Trying To Tell you Something." Everytime I listen to those songs, I always visualize the scenes from the movie in my head. If you know someone who loves the movie, I recommend getting him or her this soundtrack.』
(Just What I Ordered) 『I have been looking for this CD forever. I was told that it was "out of print". I was thrilled when I found it and it was reasonably priced. I will have to day that the music in the actual movie was better than what is on the CD, but that is always the way...』
(Fabulous) 『If you've seen the movie, listening to the CD is like watching it again, but with your eyes closed. If you've seen the movie as many times as I have, you'll know exactly which scene is which as you listen to the music.』

It just plays the 2 with Joe. If you want to see the 2 episodes with Steve you have to go into another menu option. I bought this dvd for a road trip and it was frustrating that I had to climb around the car after 2 episodes so my daughter could see the rest of the dvd.』
(dvd) 『Full of learning without kids realizing it! My 4&1 yr. old love it!』
(It's great episod !!) 『One of the best episod in Blue's clue's! I have 2 same dvd, one in play in car, the other one at home. They teaches colors and "Colors everywhere song is leaning how to mix the colors. Children easy to learn colors with song. I love this episod.』
(Great for Learning) 『My son is two and has learned so much from this DVD. He enjoys mixing his own colors now and knows just which colors to put together to get a new color. And he's learned new shapes that he didn't know before (and it's just cute to hear him try and say "trapezoid"). As with any show my child watches, I watch with him and we talk about it all. He learns so much more that way. The fact that he enjoys the show makes it fun for both of us.』
(One of the best Blue's Clues ever!) 『This one is definitely one of the most played ever in our house - it entertains and teaches color and shape contents alike with fun songs, games and the usual Blue's Clues clue hunt. If you're not sure whether this series is for your toddler - go ahead and get this one. The colors are not just the regular blue, yellow and red but wonderful shades like chartreuse and aquamarine :-D As I always watch every video with my kids at least for the first time I highly recommend this one as one of my all time favorites out of the Blue's Clues series and general childrens videos as well.』 『Studio: Paramount Home Video Release Date: 02/03/2004 Rating: Nr』 『Joe and his friend Blue tackle the preschool basics of circles, rectangles, even trapezoids while sorting through Blue's hints as to where she would like most to see more shapes in "Shape Searchers." If the clues cash register, cart, and food don't add up for you, the kid chorus will help you out. The second episode finds the pair in their backyard making a "portrait of pals," a painting of their many-colored friends. But they only have primary colors, so in order to paint Orange Kitten, for instance, they have to mix red and yellow. Joe makes the most of this opportunity for a color lesson with the assistance of Shovel, who turns out to be a superb artist without the help of a brush. Who knew? (Ages 2 to 6)--Kimberly Heinrichs』

(Perfect package) 『Between the Buried and Me is a band that continues to impress despite numerous lineup changes, and this edition of Colors goes far beyond what most bands are capable of. The album itself is a classic, a progressive sweeping master class in the history, evolution, and genres of all things metal. This edition adds to that with a full, live, continuous performance of Colors-- and they nail it. Flawless timing and musicianship will astound even the casual fan; the sheer stamina required to pull this off is beyond belief, to say nothing of the creativity and commitment to continually walk the tightrope between cacophany and genius. Any fan of hard music, or music as an art form in general, would be remiss to pass this one up.』
(Sweet Jesus) 『Between The Buried and Me rule so hard and this cd/dvd combo proves that they are masters of their craft. Definitely worth the money so rush out and buy this NOW.』
(Everyone is dead on) 『Its nice to see this dvd being so well received. It is seriously an amazing, virtually flawless performance.
After hearing an album like "Colors", one can only wonder... HOW IN THE HELL do they actually play that LIVE? That was the second thought that went through my head after hearing that album (the first thought being, these guys are just way too good.)
Cue: colors live. I didn't think it was possible but apparently the sky is the limit for this band.
This is an awesome dvd and a must have for any true BTBAM fan, or just anyone who can appreciate true talent.』
(*looks frantically for a way to give this a 6 star rating*) 『Seriously, nothing I can say will give this dvd the justice that it deserves. Just buy it. Plain and simple.』 『Between The Buried&Me release their 2008 album, Colors- Live which includes a bonus DVD of one of the finest exhibitions of true performance art. The fantastic voyage that Between The Buried&Me charted at the creation of their groundbreaking record Colors was both cathartic, magical and life-affirming for the band. Becoming one solid unit of artists and recording their definitive record in such a cohesive fashion is a very rare feat. Colors has since become one of the most celebrated records in the metal and rock spectrums for 2008.』

(Good) 『This past weekend, I had the opportunity to see The Color Fred live with Angels&Airwaves. At the show, I wasn't all that impressed. After listening to their album, however, I can say that my previous thoughts about TCF were wrong.
This album isn't amazing. This album isn't bad. It's simply ... well, good. Take it at face value -- don't expect anything, and you won't be disappointed. It's alternative, catchy, and well-written.
What can I say? I'm a fan, now.』
(Wow. A side project that is actually good.) 『What is this? I was expecting some kind of Taking Back Sunday without the lead singer, but instead I got an album that is full of just great rock tracks. The whiny emo of TBS is gone with a mix of mature rock and great songwriting.
There isn't a bad track here. The whole cd is a great listen and each song is obviously done by the same person/group, but they are also decisively different. Every track flows and the package is definitely a good as the sum of it's parts, which is something that cannot be said about a lot of artists.
Some stand out tracks are: Get Out, If I Surrender, Complaintor, Minnesota, I'll Never Know, and Don't Pretend, though the whole album is great. Just don't go in expecting TBS version 2.0 and you will be happy. I was a little shocked when I popped this in, but immediately came to love it. This will be in my rotation for quite some time. Definitely longer than the last TBS release.
Pick this up. You won't regret it. 』
(Exceeded my expectations!) 『The album is just sick. Fred Mascherino is like a general, and the whole damn army on this disc. He does everything and that's why I'm surprised it's so good. My favorite songs are "If I Surrender", which got me believing in music again, "Hate To See You Go" which is just damn good, and "Complaintor" because it paints the picture of him and his relationship with the kids of Taking Back Sunday. Not a bad song on the disc and it's just up-tempo, pure positive energy. It all fits neatly in a revamped digi-pak styled case that is 80% recycled with a 100% biodegradable tray. Don't skimp out and get the digital version, grab the new digi-pak eco friendly styled casing instead!』
(Not TBS) 『What a great LP. So different from the sound of TBS. Fred is playing the kind of music he wants to play, and is doing a great job providing us with a great sound for sore ears. Not a bad song on the CD. It rocks from the beginning including a shot out to his home town of Coatesville with Get Out. Great lead in on If I Surrender, perfect for a ringtone. Still rocking with Hate To See You Go, then slowing down for It Isn't Me, picking up again for Complaintor, The Tragedy and I Didn't See. Minnesota rocks in between two more great ballads Empty House and I'll Never Know. Don't Pretend rounds out the CD on a rock note. Clint Stelfox makes an appearance on It Isn't Me playing the piano brilliantly. Clint played with Fred in Breaking Pangaea. This album could be the album that everyone talks about from Foo Fighter and Linkin Park fans to John Mayer and Plain White T fans.
Get it! 』 『
WithBend To Break, Fred Mascherino--known for his work as lead guitarist and co-vocalist/songwriter for Taking Back Sunday--has turned out one of the most exhilarating and gutsy solo projects in years. Operating under the guise of THE COLOR FRED, the first recording under his nom de rock was artfully executed with the help of legendary producer Lou Giordano (Sugar, Paul Westerberg, Sunny Day Real Estate).
While THE COLOR FRED had been in Mascherino's plans since before he joined Taking Back Sunday, his solo project was put on the backburner with that band s meteoric rise. In the wake of two gold records while in the band--2004'sWhere You Want To Be(Victory) and 2006'sLouder Now(Warner Bros.)--and their subsequent touring commitments, it wasn t until the Spring of 2007 thatBend To Breaktruly took shape.

The opening track "Eyes Of Light" is the standout, but much of the following record just reminds me of lots of other bad, 70's derivative blues-based rock. The debut screamed "STOOGES!" - this one is closer to "FOGHAT!" - and not even as interesting as that. They've made zero efforts to make their arrangements more interesting, nothing.
Bummer.』 『Vinyl LP pressing of the third album from the Brooklyn power trio. (Nature scenes set to classical music) 『This video contains scenes from the folks at HDenvironments.com, makers of the Living Landscapes videos. They add classical music instead of retaining the natural sounds. The calssical selections are popular ones you should recognize, and the movement from scene to scene is faster than the original Living Landscapes videos. If this appeals to you, enjoy. If you want the natural sounds and longer scenes are each site, get the original Living Landscapes videos.』
(Good but not great) 『I enjoyed most aspects of this Blu-Ray disk. The scenery is indeed natural and colorful, but I felt disappointed in my purchase after the first 10 minutes. The scenery was not varied enough, and there are too many scenes of trees, water and common wildlife that I could video myself by talking a walk in a nearby woods. I was expecting more scenery from unusual places around the world. The quality of the music track is fantastic, especially on my high-end home theater. Once again, too many of the selections are classical music that I've heard countless times on television, movies, radio, etc. Something surprising and new would have gone a long way here.』
