『My son really has fun with the scrub brush, filling up Elmo with water and watching it pour out, and messing around with the tub. While he's not playing with it was it was intended to be played with, he still has fun with it.

I think he may be too young to notice the spots getting lighter with the warm water vs. cool water or cool air, but maybe in a few months he will and find it interesting.

Overall, it's a good toy if it's used as your child wants to use it, but I don't think it's a good toy as the makers intended it to be.』

『We are huge Elmo fans and what better idea for my two year old to enjoy bath time than to have him give Elmo his bath. Except this thing is a piece of overpriced junk. Suction cup for tub doesn't stick, Elmo does not relly fit into tub well, Elmo figure is hollow plastic with wide seams and he immediately fills with water and has never completely dried since (yuck/mold), cheap toy that is overpriced and the cute concept of your child giving the much-loved Elmo his bath is completely lost with the frustration that ensues once the toy is taken out of the package.』

(Better than traditional watercolors)

『This set contains a nice selection of colors (green, black, red, pink, yellow, purple, orange, and blue). Unlike traditional watercolors, these don't run into other colors when they touch on the damp paper. The consistency is somewhat thick which results in vibrant colors which are somewhat opaque when dry. The wells that the individual colors are in are deep enough that water doesn't spill out into the other colors. The brush is of fair quality; good enough for children's activities.』

『The kids really enjoyed it initially. A set with fewer coloring pages and a lower price would be better for us because while the lure of many pages was exciting, the kids only eagerly used it a couple of days. I'm sure they'll use it periodically, but most of the set will be given or thrown away because once you see how it works, the excitement is gone.』

『I bought this for my 8 year old daughter's birthday after she saw it on TV. While I wasn't overly impressed with it, she loves it! The colors aren't very bright and you have to rub really hard, but she has played with this none-stop for about a week now. She likes all the different tools it comes with and the different patterns you discover on each page. Overall a great value.』

(A sad, sad little product)

『I just saw this product on TV and I must admit that after seeing the commercial, it made me a little sad.

I thought the whole point of children's creative activities is to foster things like individuality, observation, personality, creativity. I didn't see any of this in this product. In fact, the more I think about it the more I think it was designed for the convenience of the parent ("No markers! No crayons!") and not the kids. The product serves a simple purpose: it eliminates crayons and markers from the child's environment and hence the rist of damaging furniture, floors and walls. They just rub on the paper and the color (whatever color has been already decided) "magically" appears.

The product also eliminates the decision making process of choosing colors based on what you observe or desire or even the effort of trying to color within the lines. I can see parents using this stuff on a trip or while traveling, but one of the key selling points of the commercial was the elimination of crayons and markers. My guess is that they (the manufacturers) would love it if their product was used everywhere and everytime children wanted to 'color'.

Some of the cutest things I remember from anyone else's children were the drawings they'd make. It was the purple trees, the blue apples and the efforts (and the obvious failure) of coloring within the lines that made those drawings precious.

What was once an intellectually engaging activity, now it's just a repetitive motion of rubbing on a page.

How sad. I know I'd ask the parent if they kid (and they) would appreciate markers or crayons before I'd purchase any for their children, but I'd never buy this product.』
