He has to move his feet as if he is walking to ride it and that becomes very tiring for him especially when I carry him for rides in the neighborhood. One of my neighbors grandchild has the same trike and he is having the same problem he just turned 3 and still can't reach the pedals. My daughter was walking across the carpeted den and the shoes snapped in half. (She is 4 and small for her age.) The Glinda costume ripped in a week. The "shirts" are too small, even for my 2-year old. It is not "one size fits all" and the sizes are not consistent, as the Dorothy dress is huge and would fit a 7-year old. The witch's hat doesn't even fit the head of my children's baby dolls (too small). If your kids are obsessed like mine, I would bite the bullet and buy a different product that is better made and will last longer.』

The Dorothy dress sleeves are not attached, the neck part is not attached and the blouse is not attached to the jumper. The toy cardboard chest is a JOKE. (this is the best number puzzle ever!) 『this puzzle was originally meant as a birthday gift. however when it unexpectedly arrived yesterday, i had to give it to him, "NUMBERS!" "NEW PUZZLE!" he ran around barely able to hold it--it is big and a bit heavy for a 23 month old. the colors are amazing. the block letters are the perfect size and stand on their own. you can stack them. line them up. combine them to make larger numbers. my only gripe is the "6" and "9" are exactly the same but at last it doesn't bother him like the sound puzzle because they are a different color. in addition, i altered the sound puzzle with a red stripe around the raw wood edge--"red stripe nine"--and ironically the chunky number "9" is painted with a red (stripe) border. he still plays with the sound puzzle but now HE is the voice articulating the numbers.

(A HUGE hit with my busy little one!) 『Another great product from Melissa and Doug. This, and the similar On the Go Wooden Jigsaw, were my 21-month-old son's first jigsaw puzzles, and he loved them on sight! Because these puzzles are made of thick, sturdy wood, there are some not-completely-smooth edges. No biggie -- I gave them a little buffing with very fine sandpaper before I gave him the puzzle.
He worked with the puzzle, with a little help from Mom&Dad, until he had literally memorized it and could put it together lightning-fast. Now, at 24 months, he enjoys putting it together wood-side-up, too, so we're really getting our money's worth with this thing.
One thing to note is that, after much love and enjoyment, the paper is starting to wear at the edges. And my son actually managed to tear some of it off the puzzle in a moment of toddler curiosity. However, contact cement pasted the paper back on and all is well again.
The recommended age is 3+, but I think kids much younger than that can enjoy starting to learn how to work jigsaw puzzles. He has had a lot of fun since receiving it for his 5th birthday. He and his 8 year old sister both enjoy playing with it. They also have used the castle as a home for some of their other toys as well (dinosaurs, dolls, plastic animals, etc.). They have gotten really creative in how they use and arrange the castle. The castle arrived in perfect condition and on time. This was a concern for me since it was a birthday gift. I am extremely pleased with the company who sent it. I love this toy because it is educational and I have been able to teach my children about history, and now they have an interest in the Medeival times. We have bought many Schleich toys and have been very pleased with the detail and quality of each item. If your child has a good imagination and enjoys pretending, then this is a great toy for them. If your child is used to lots of t.v. and video games, this might not be a very good choice (it is very expensive) and you might just be wasting your money. The detail and flexibility of this toy will appeal to adults, as will the realism factor- it looks like a real castle, not a fantasy fortress with goofy proportions and bright colors. Plus it's durable enough for kids. The proportions work well with Schleich, Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, (smaller) Lord of the Rings and Papo figures. My only caution would be that because of its realism factor, it doesn't have a a lot of bells and whistles. The drawbridge raises and that's about it. So it may not have as much appeal for young kids.』
(Best Castle for lots of Fun) 『We bought this for Santa to bring to our almost 5yr old son for Christmas. He saw this in a catalog and it was all he wanted. My dad bought him several knights and horses to go with some he already had and got his 6yr old brother the tent and catapult. Not only have the two boys enjoyed playing with this non-stop but it has become the home for Star Wars figures as well (They said it looked like the sand planet). The detail is wonderful and it is designed well for different configurations - great for that imagination to work with! This is a super durable toy and I think well worth the money. Considering there are many other similar items out there that may be a little cheaper, but will never hold up as well. I can see this toy being something my sons save for their children. If you can, buy the knights and other pieces from Schleich that compliment this piece. They are equally durable and beautifully detailed.』
