My little boy received this as a gift (his grandma got it at walmart for $4!). He got quite a bit of fun out of it when he was younger and even now sometimes pulls it out to play with (he's currently 3). Be sure to shop around for this toy! I've seen it under various names for various prices. If you are looking for a laptop type toy for an older todler I suggest the Vtech Tote&Go Laptop Plus instead, but this is great for the little guys and gals!』

(Good Long lasting Toy) 『Wow, I bought this same exact toy at W**mart as one of their brands for under ten bucks reg price, but thats a different story. For the price I bought it I think its a great buy. I purchased it specificaly for when my 14 month old son and I go out. It keeps him busy in his stroller or play at a table if we're out eating. Yes like any other toy it can get to us parents but it works keeping him entertained for longer period of time then other toys. I like the fact that it folds just like a laptop you can carry it in your hand by the handle. (An Remote Control Toy Only) 『Please don't be fooled by this toy and it's description. There is nothing ( not a thing ) about this toy that is AI. It is simply a RC device, nothing more.
What with the recent attention, and popularity, of AI ( artificial intelligence ) robots, this toy tries to cash in on the craze.
Don't be misled. Unlike the truly AI dinosaur by Ugobe, Pleo, this puppy is simply a remote controlled toy. Yes, he barks and walks, etc - but not unless you press a button directing it to do so. That is NOT what AI is about.
The undisputed leader in AI robots for the consumer is Sony, with it's outstanding AIBO. Coming in at approximately two grand, when it was available, it truly represented what AI and good programming can bring... a robot which ages and has it's own personality based on your interaction with it. This Tekno pet, is a poor, poor substitute.
Second in the AI robotic market, is the Ugobe Pleo, and that also has some very good AI, and at approximately 300 dollars ( as of 2008 ), it's a big investment, but more than worth the price.
Do not waste your money on this toy, which is simply a remote controlled item. I own both an AIBO and a Pleo, and was looking for a lower end addition to my robot family of pets - what I got was a RC toy, NOT an AI robot.
Additionally, as a side note - the packaging of the Tekno is especially difficult to open. I understand the need for theft-proof packaging, but this went above and beyond what is necessary and quickly turned into a mess of plastic shards, cut wraps, screwdriver removed screws and cardboard.』
(A big dissapointment) 『My daughter had great expectations for this when she received it as a gift but she had received disappointment after disappointment. It is not "the robotic puppy that acts just like a real puppy."
It is nothing like a real puppy, in fact. I won't respond to any name but Tekno, its expressions are very hard to interpret (does a real puppy have eyes that change from red to blue?), the touch sensors are hard and "petting" the robot is not satisfying, it doesn't come or fetch (you have to give it the ball). It can't sit, roll over, or do any tricks of merit. And it is ugly and hard.
It is in my daughter's closet waiting for the appropriate amount of time before we give it away. 』

My daughter would give it 5 stars, but I took away 1 star for the packaging, which requires you to totally destroy the package to access the dog and of course void any attempt for returning it. Lucky for Techno my daughter loved it, I honestly don't think it does much, but my daughter loves it and that's all that matters.』

(Troublesome truck) 『For anyone that collects the die-cast Thomas the Train cars, this truck is a great addition to your child's collection. I purchased two for my three and a half year old son who uses them, but has over the past six months made games to try and run away from these troublesome trucks. Different than the other cars, the upper part of the car will rock on a hinge as it rolls down the track. If your child plays rough with these trains as our child sometimes does it can get stuck in a position that keeps the front wheels from turning causing it to tip when the train pulls it around a corner. So again these trains are a great novelty, and the most durable of the collection, but these troublesome trucks were not designed to hold up after several drops or crashes from a growing toddler.』 『Pocket-sized, die-cast Troublesome Truck. (A great little toy) 『I bought mine for ten dollars at Toys 'R' Us, but I had to get it a week or two before the film opened. Now it's difficult to find many of the toys in brick-and-mortar locations, and I think many of the items available on Amazon may be Amazon Marketplace toys being re-sold by folks who got to the toy store early and cleaned out the stock.
MO is nicely on-model, and the tiny brushes (meant to pick up dust more than anything coarser) are a nice touch - the figure can actually do something as it's pushed about, and you can peek in and see them move. Would I like to see a larger, talking version made - maybe with a pop-up flashing light on its head? Sure, but this is great for fans of the film who don't have tons of battery money or shelf space.』

It's 10 bucks at Toys R Us, but that's STILL too much for such a small, cheap-looking toy. Compare poor Mo to the Wall-E toys in this line and you can see the ridiculous quality difference. Did Thinkway have all their best guys busy with the main character? Seriously, Mo feels like a Happy Meal toy and his cleaning ability is average at best. If he actually WAS a Happy Meal toy he'd be a spectacular freebie with your burger and fries, but as is, a barely-operational cheap-feeling robot is NOT worth twenty-five dollars, or much of anything for that matter.』

The first one I am reviewing is Fergus. In the Thomas stories, Fergus is a small dark blue railway traction engine who was saved from scrap by Salty. He was used to power the lighthouse when the generator blew out. Reliable and useful, Fergus is always ready to help out in case of an emergency.
If you are looking for a railway set for your child that's not too expensive, but is also pretty durable, you certainly cannot go wrong with the Take Along Thomas railway. Choose Fergus or any of the other engines. They are loads of fun!』
(Take Along Fergus is a Winner) 『As part of the Take Along Thomas and Friends series, Fergus is an interesting little dark blue engine. My 2 year old son can handle these smaller versions better than the wooden ones, and they are more affordable. It's unfortunate that more of the sets for this series aren't available from Amazon.』 『Fergus has a spinning flywheel and moving piston. He is painted blue-purple with red wheels, and although he vaguely resembles Trevor the Traction Engine, Fergus runs on rails, unlike Trevor.

Unsurprisingly, he's resistant to change and can be irritated when other engines "muck about". However, he is a decent engine at heart and will not hesitate to help other engines who are in trouble.Measures 2.875".』

It's made of cardboard. No critters are included. You could have the fun of decorating a shoebox with your child and use that instead--no charge. Try a rubber band and voila! A latch.
Do we play with this? Sort of. When we play calico critters, she moves them into her Dora playhouse (picked up free at a thrift shop) and she moves MY family into this overpriced box for ME to use. Buyer beware!!』

(A great compromise and wonderful place to store the critters!) 『I have bought lots of the Calico Critters family series from Amazon and when I saw this case, I thought it would be a great compromise - i.e. not having to buy the more expensive Calico Critter houses. As a lot of the Calico Critter playsets come with tiny accessories, this carry n play case is practical as it has sufficient storage space for them. Also, this is a great case to bring along on playdates, or when travelling. My daughter was able to store some furniture, accessories, and up to a dozen Calico Critters in it when we travelled recently. My only complaint is the latch which is not strongly reinforced and opens easily. So, one has to be extra careful when carrying the case. But overall, I'd rate this item as a great alternative to purchasing the more expensive homes in the series, and a practical way to store and transport the critters and accessories.』
(Affordable and entirely adequate alternative to a Calico House) 『My daughter already has a dollhouse, so I was reluctant to get her Calico Critters complete with their own house. I saw the Carrying Case as a happy compromise. I'm pleased: the Carrying Case makes a very suitable home, and I've not had the problems other reviewers had with the latch. Perhaps they've fixed that problem.
So far, we've acquired three playsets ("Halley and Colin Have Fun at the Park" and "A Carriage Ride for Connor and Kerri" and "Zach and Sandy's Bike Riding Adventure"), bunk beds, and the Norwood Mouse twins, and have ample room to store more stuff in the case. My daughter adores her Calico Critters (and they are adorable, in spite of being ridiculously overpriced!), and it all stores in less than 5" of space on a shelf.』

I received this case in the mail the day before her birthday and I removed the plastic to check it out before I wrapped it. I tried to open the latch the very first time and the latch came off in my hands! It is only attached to the cardboard frame by what look like 4 small eyeglass screws. I tried to put them back in (after searching the floor for the tiny screws!) but the holes were stripped and it was impossible to put them back in.
