My daughter is a princess through-and-through... loves dress up, loves fancy things, loves her princesses and castles... and she LOVED this gift. I wouldn't say she takes it out every day but when she does, she goes through the whole video and it is very adorable to watch her trying to imitate the dance moves. I don't expect her to learn to dance from this DVD but am happy to see her up and moving, even though she is still "watching TV". It's not too expensive and I would definitely recommend this gift. I am buying this for my 3 1/2-year-old niece who is also another "princess". My other daughter (I have twins) is not into the princess dress-up as much as her sister and still likes this DVD. (Lots of fun for my 4 year old!) 『I was a bit confused to see all of the negativity over this as my 4 year old got it for her birthday yesterday and LOVES it :) She made us watch it twice in a row, which is a rare occurance for anything so I know she loves this. She really doesn't care too much about the wand as it is somewhat heavy to hold and dance with, although she loves playing with it apart from the dance mat and video. The dances are fun and actually really aerobic. I know this because I did the video one time through with her and got a pretty good workout! (A HUGE hit with my busy little one!) 『Another great product from Melissa and Doug. This, and the similar On the Go Wooden Jigsaw, were my 21-month-old son's first jigsaw puzzles, and he loved them on sight! Because these puzzles are made of thick, sturdy wood, there are some not-completely-smooth edges. No biggie -- I gave them a little buffing with very fine sandpaper before I gave him the puzzle.
He worked with the puzzle, with a little help from Mom&Dad, until he had literally memorized it and could put it together lightning-fast. Now, at 24 months, he enjoys putting it together wood-side-up, too, so we're really getting our money's worth with this thing.
One thing to note is that, after much love and enjoyment, the paper is starting to wear at the edges. And my son actually managed to tear some of it off the puzzle in a moment of toddler curiosity. However, contact cement pasted the paper back on and all is well again.
The recommended age is 3+, but I think kids much younger than that can enjoy starting to learn how to work jigsaw puzzles. I kept it in my hand luggage with a few other toys as quiet "plane trip" toys. Initially he wasn't terribly interested (at one year old) but as time has moved on he has become more interested. He likes to put the animals into and out of the bowl examing them through the plastic. He will spend time also squishing the bowl on its own to see the water moving around and things in the water move around. Now he is 14 months he has taken to using the animals in it as balls playing catch and fetch with his teenage brother. None of the animals make huge noises, although one has a squeaker which is the loudest. It does not take batteries, packs into a small bag if you are travelling and doesn't damage the furniture when it is launched by a teenager trying to amuse his baby brother. All in all it is very good value for money toy.』

(Good Family Fun) 『I bought this game for my son's fourth birthday. He's really getting into board games and is also a big Disney buff, so I thought he would like it.
Turns out, he loves it. We play almost every day. The game offers many different methods of matching: by picture, color, letter, and number, so children of any and all ages can play together and not have to worry about being at different comprehension levels. At four, my son matches the color and picture, but it's also a great tool to review numbers and (limited, true) letters.
I suppose the only con would be that there might not be enough chips included. It's fine when it's just my son and I, but if we were playing the blackout version (fill up the entire card) with more people, we would probably run out of chips. But that's no big deal; you can use pretty much anything as extra chips.
Any game that we can play as a family and has even a little educational value is tops in my book.』
(Favorite Christmas present of a 4 and 5 year old . . .) 『This was by far my 5 year-old daughter and 4 year-old nephew's favorite Christmas present this year. Bought it after reading the preceding reviews and totally agree with the positive ones. I guess the woman who complained the numbers get called too slow didn't realize you can change the settings (just click on "controls" when the menu screen first comes up) to manually control the numbers being called, and you can make them come up as fast or as slow as you want.
We love the little celebration graphics that play for you when you click on "bingo" when someone wins. We let the child that didn't win keep all their chips on the card and the winner clear them off, that way they pretty much took turns with who won. It was great practice with winning and LOSING (especially), which never really goes over with the preschool set, ha ha.
