(Good, but there are better) 『My 3 year old loves the Backyardigans. This "game" is really a show/DVD. I want her to learn, which she has with the Dora game and the basic functions of the L-max. I wouldn't spend the money on this game if I had it to do over again. NOT worth it. It is cute, but NOT educational.』
(More like a DVD than an interactive game) 『What a disappointment! My 4 yr. old daughter absolutely LOVES the Backyardigans so I thought this would be a perfect to sneak in some learning. It is more like a DVD than a video game in that there is a lot of animated "filler" as kids navigate from activity to activity. The only skills that are practiced are counting (in a Frogger like activity), patterning (in a Simon like activity), and observing (in an I-Spy like activity). The games themselves offer 2 levels: easy and super easy. Once kids have played each one, there is a "bonus" dance party at the end where kids can choose a character to move to the music. My daughter quickly learned that the dance party music never changed and each character followed the same pattern of steps over and over.
All in all, my daughter liked the game because she could interact (albeit minimally) with the characters. It did hold her attention for a couple hours during a long car trip. However, it does not deliver the same level of content and challenge as other Leapster cartridges. For my purposes, I would have been better off buying a Backyardigans DVD and saving about $10 to use on gas! :(』 『With Nick Jr. The Backyardigans, kids will have learning adventures as big as their imagination. It is really easy for her to understand what she is supposed to do and she has a blast playing with it. I was looking for a toy my daughter could understand and play on her own at times, so I am pleased that she can get alot more out of this game than I bargained for. Like other reviewers here it wasn't long before the sound went out... which makes the toy pretty well worthless. I little investigation showed that the welds on the speaker are weak and broke. A few minutes with a wire trimmer and a soldering iron and the toy has worked good as new since.
Our 3y/o could care less about the game play, and is quite satisfied to randomly pound the moles with the mallet. Single player mode is pretty tough and I doubt many kids can beat it. Lots of fun to be had for 2 to 4 kids in the multi player modes. It is a shame they didn't use a little more care in assembling it.』

However, we played easy, hard, and solo modes one time exactly. Then, the "orange" mole stopped working. "Game over", and one very unhappy little girl. They store where I purchased it will replace the game and I hope we have better luck next time, as this game seems to have sporadic problems with the electronics. With regard to educaitonal value, the HARD mode is entirely about listening attentively. Lights don't blink, just make a sound triggering a player to whack. This is an important skill to teach children, and there are few games where this kind of training is well camaflouged as fun.』

The idea of cracking an egg and opening it are great, but the metal egg is hard to open without throwing it down (which dents it permanently). The cloth egg doesnt fall out of the egg very well, either. My niece still played with it alot and I know overall, she will use it over and over again.』

IPhone 3G used's review (Mixed bag) 『Though I like the idea of the toy, there are couple of reasons I didn't like this as much as I though I would: 1. From the photos it appears that the figures are like kid's jigsaw puzzles where the border is raised so that kids can easily fit the pieces without the pieces moving. But only two figures are like that. The rest are just pieces of thick paper with figures printed. So no real value for money and makes me think that the packaging is a marketing poly that makes customers think all puzzles are of the same type. 2. The puzzles range from just joining two half circles to form a circle (which I think a 2 or 2.5 yr old could do) to fairly complex ones probably more appropriate for a 5-6 year olds. Unless you are buying it for a 2-3 year old and plan to use it for 3 years or so you will 'waste' part of it. 』
(Fantastic Play Alone Game) 『I homeschool my kids and I bought this to keep my youngest kidlet (3) busy and happy while I was doing school with his older brothers. It was an instant hit! The only problem is that the older boys (6&12) want to stop and play with it too. I realized yesterday that it's time to get more tiles and more challenges. When my 3 year old accomplished his first pattern (2 half circles to make one circle) he had a smile from ear to ear and said, "I wanna do it again, Mommy!" and he said that after every card that he completed until they got too hard and then he was content to watch his brothers do the harder ones. I am excited to get our new tiles and more patterns. I might order the magnetic set for my 3 year old to help him keep his tiles in place as he fumbles around as well as being able to take them on an airplane for educational fun in the sky!Magnetic MightyMind』
(Great Game) 『I was searching for a game that my 3yr old could play with me on rainy days and came upon Mighty Minds. I was hesitant because I thought he would lose interest fast but decided to give a try because he needs to start learning about matching and patterns. As soon as we opened the box he was interested the shapes, then we started with the patterns and he loved playing the game! We played the game for 20 mins and if it weren't for bedtime I think that he would have played longer. With that being said, I do think that it is not for a child under the age of 3 which is what the game recommends. I teach pre-school and some children are still very interested in putting object in their mouths and so it should be cautioned that the shapes are a choking hazard. Really this game is wonderful for spending time with your child and I don't think I would leave my son to do this game by himself until he is older because I know he might try to put the shapes in his mouth. I am thinking that this is going to be the gift that I give for all my friends children who are 3 and older for birthdays and etc. My family really loves this game!』

She finished cards 1-10 this morning, but I have to sit with her and do them "together," meaning I have to talk through it with her... (What shape do we need? His 3.5 year old brother is out with dad doing some errand, and when he comes home, I am sure he is going to be THRILLED with this toy.
