『I bought this set both for use at my home and as a gift for my grandchildren. This is one of the nicer sets out there and comes with all the necessary product for fun kitchen play for children, including plates, bowls, cups, utensils and pans. The only thing I had to buy extra was cooking utensils. It is very sturdy and safe for children to use. I highly recommend it.』

Her cousins are 5, 5, 3, 1.5, and 11 months and we've yet to lose a knob, door, or spoon! Rounded edges means that no one bleeds when the kids are all over and fight over them. They're almost full size so don't expect them to go with a teeny tiny kitchen. These are strong, safe, and fun. Your ballerina (or barbarian) will enjoy these dishes and you'll be able to keep them around for years!』

『My 3&5 year old love this toy! The lights turn off and on in two of the rooms and the accessories and Calico Critters are super cute. It is a little small to fit all the accessories (like the bathroom fits the tub, toilet and small wall sink), but my kids enjoy trading them out and re-decorating any way. There is a bigger version of this one if you prefer more room. They enjoy plaing with all the little rooms and it is better if we elevate it so they can both play. It doesn't open to a 180 flat front, which does sometimes make it difficult for both to play at the same time, but it is very durable and withstands a lot.』

『My daughter received this house for her eighth birthday and loves it. I've seen a lot of reviews from people who bought it for a 2-year-old, which I don't understand, because all of the play pieces that go with it would present a choking hazard for such a young child. That said, the only limitation I see is that the rooms could be a little bigger, but that's my observation, not my daughter's. She has no complaints whatsoever. She doesn't do much playing inside the house. Her play mostly involves deciding where everything should go, setting it all up, and shuffling it around until it's just right.

People with limited storage/play space will appreciate the manageable size of this piece. My friend's daughter has a gigantic Barbie castle that looms over any room he puts it in and take up all the space in the room when it's open and being played with. This is a more reasonable size and just as much fun.

The house seems sturdy enough for normal play, and the lights that really light up are very cool. Some people have dogged this product in their reviews, but I think it's a neat little house. More importantly, my daughter really likes it and uses it.』

『If you have ever bought a Calico Critters set that comes with accessories, you will know that they are all made of plastic. I have the Cloverleaf Corners Nursery School, which is all plastic but is still durable and does not have tiny, breakable plastic parts. I cannot say the same for this plastic dollhouse for Calico Critters. I bought it because the Nursery School was durable although plastic. I really did not want to buy a plastic toy, but at the time, I could not find a wood dollhouse small enough to fit the 3" maximum height of the Critters. I returned this item. Then, I found that Real Good Toys has a line of heirloom-quality, pre-built, painted and ready to play 1/2 scale wood dollhouses which have a ceiling height perfect for 3" characters. They are beautiful and reasonably priced and much better quality than the Calico Critters' own townhouse, which is plastic. Real Good Toys just expanded (as of May 2008) their line of pre-built dollhouses and there is now an adorable 1/2 scale pink dollhouse that is just darling. They fit Calico Critters perfectly and are of heirloom quality...search for Real Good Toys 1/2 scale Farmhouse in pink or 1/2 scale Colonial see the company's website at (insert the company's name).com I wish Amazon would carry Real Good Toys' finished dollhouses... This plastic product, however, will not stand up to years of play.』

『My 3 year old just received this house, and she is having a ball with it. We read reviews and were a little concerned that it would be too small, but it's really not. You just have to get a little creative with the furniture layout - and rearranging furniture in a doll house is half the fun anyway. Also, you can move part of the floor, one of the walls, and the staircase so you can change it up easily. I do wish the stairs were a little better designed - they work great in some spots but fall off more easily in others - but it's not a big deal. The little lights are very cute.』

The pictures on the box make it look perfect, and if that's all you were gonna do with it--look at it--this house would be great. But if you actually want to PLAY with it, which, i'm assuming, is essentially the purpose, then you're just outta luck with this house. There is just NO WAY to fit anything in this house....it's just too small! It's too small in 2 ways: 1) not enough rooms in the house and 2) not enough room in each room--you can't fit all your furniture in there--much less little hands. We mostly just use our Calico furniture out on our dining room table. I'd recommend purchasing a REALLY BIG doll house if you actually want to play with the Critters IN the house. Of course, Calico Critters company doesn't make ANY of their houses big enough, so you'd have to go with a completely different brand of house. That's what i plan to do.』

The little guy has alot of trouble with it, but it's his limitations. Our 5yo LOVES playing with this toy. 『I do not recommend this product. By the end of the first day, one of the big wings had fallen off. Now all of the pieces (the runway, the heliopad, etc.) are dismantled. The "floors" are not level so the furniture slides off. I wish there would be a recall for a product that fails on so many levels. I have a Barbie Jumbo Jet from the 70s that my daughter plays with. Although you wouldn't think it's the most durable thing in the world, that old jet is just fine and this toy is scrap. They sure don't make 'em like they used to.』

One side of the plane continually falls off, the runway sticks and cannot move, the wings of the plane do not attach well and as a result live in a pile next to the plane on the floor and the floors within each wing are not level so EVERYTHING FALLS OFF OF THEM EVERY 2 minutes!!!! If I don't play with her so that I can fix things as they break, my daughter gets very frustrated with it! It truly is junk - do not purchase this unless you like being frustrated!!!』

We bought this for my 4 yr. old for her birthday. My older daughter, who is 10, played with it more than my 4 yr. old. So far, we have gotten hours of enjoyment out of it. Of course, there are tons of little pieces, and it's better to leave it open and "setup" because little hands have a difficult time opening all the compartments - but overall, I feel it was worth the money and great for kids who love Polly Pocket.』

『I purchased this jet over the cruise ship for my 5 year old daughter based on more negative reviews at the time for the cruise ship. It is actually a durable toy that my 4 year old son will play with too. The other day a neighbor fell on top of the jet and it was in pieces. It only took a few seconds to put it back together as good as new. Amazing! Yes, younger children will probably need help setting everything up, but it is not hard to do. A fun toy and a good pick over the cruise ship, which I've read falls apart just as much.』

Well, my daughter got the item she wished for, but truly it is nothing more than one major headache. My daughter (now 5) and son (3) want to play with it desperately but get frustrated everytime; the runway never works, the plane stands up precariously and then falls over, (resulting in a yell of "mommy, please come fix this!") the wings and tails fall off constantly...it is nothing short of a nightmare, especially considering the cost. After 6 months I can say they'e played with it 3-4 times. I am finally just giving up and putting it in a give-away pile, with my daughter's consent (which says alot!) What could have been a great toy is truly one of the worst toys for the money that we've ever onwed! She still loves polly pocket, but will continue ot just play with the dolls at a table.』

『I am disappointed in this set. There is very little pretend play value. Is your kid going to pretend to watch TV? The couch is two separate pieces, which adds to decorating options, but is it difficult to get the dolls to sit on it because there is nothing to keep it together. Maybe a piece of Velcro at the ends would help.

The chairs for the twins is rustic, but really, what are they for? exersaucers, a playpen, or something similar would be more fun.

With the exception of the ottoman the whole set is ugly ugly UGLY. There are still using the same colors from 5 years ago and it was outdated then.
