『My daughter is 5 years old and received her Tea set for Christmas 2 years ago. She loves playing house and I am absolutely amazed at how well this set still looks. 『I purchased this for my 18 month old daughter to have as a surprise when we arrived in the US. (That way I didn't have to bring a lot of toys with me.) From the minute I unpacked it she was in love. She made tea for her Grandpa and played with this everyday. She loves the music and while it can be a bit monotonous it makes her happy and isn't too loud. I am not too bothered about the holes in the cups as I do not really want her sloshing water around the house and I do not want to encourage that. In looking at the holes I don't think that it would be a problem to fill them up with hot glue and that would solve that problem. Love this toy and at 10.99 you can't beat the quality!! 『We received clickstart as a birthday present when my son was 4. It was a great gift and he enjoyed the games. The mouse is the perfect size for their little hands and he has learned a lot of hand/eye coordination skills from clickstart. However, over the last couple of weeks he has expressed that he's bored with it and he's not challenged by the games. My son just turned 5 last week. So I recommend clickstart for 3-4 year olds but might suggest you look at other "gaming" options like the Leapster if you have a 5 year old.』

『I recently bought this for a xmas gift at the price of $45 - normally priced at $60. Only a week or 2 later, Target had this same gift on sale for $40 plus you could use their toybook coupon of $10 making the final price $30. Needless to say I was disappointed that I jumped on this deal too soon to only realize I could have gotten a better deal elsewhere. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

(Great Potential Marred by One Major Problem)

『We obtained this product for our average to above-average two year old, who is now three. She has barely played with it, and while it seemingly has great potential, it is all flushed down the drain by one horrible design flaw: the fact that the keyboard and mouse interface to the television through line-of-site infrared (like a remote control).

When you have a little kid, they aren't the best in the dexterity department, and they tend the move the peripheral portion of the unit around a lot, messing up the whole line-of-site thing. As a consequence, the mouse and keyboard don't respond very well or go on and off in their sensitivity. This in turn causes frustration for the child, who proceeds to move the equipment around even more erratically.

The experience is such that our girl frantically moves the mouse around only to have small bits and pieces of the movement registered on screen. Even when I, an experienced IT professional, have used the mouse, I have found it to bear little resemblance to the feel of a computer-based mouse.

In our case, at least, this has proven to be the downfall of this toy. Additionally, we've found the games we have used to be rather one-dimensional with little replay-ability. It seems like going through a few easy patterns that repeat themselves, leading to a boring experience.

For our part, we'll never again buy an electronic children's product that isn't self-contained, based on wired connections, or using true omnidirectional wireless technology (e.g., RF or 801.11a/b/g/n).』

They were pretty lame and way too easy for a 4 year old. What 4 year old can't count to 10 and recognize the alphabet? I also purchased the Nemo game and that was too easy also. This would have been a great gift for my son when he turned 2 and even 3 but I would not purchase for a child older than that.』

『I bought this doll for my 3 year old grandaughter, beleiving all the time that the feeding, potty training, diaperchange, etc. is just a formality that she'll be able practice and enjoy by herself too.
Never tought that if she doesn't feed the doll correctly, the doll food may stain some surface , or if she forgets to make the doll drink, the food gets stuck inside the doll , or for that matter, the diapers or even the food is not reusable.
For God's sake.... this is a doll!! and the child is just 3 years old!

Why didn't you let us know that we have to keep buying the food and diapers as if the doll was a real baby???
Why are not these things resuable????

Beleive me... this doll is only fun for a 3 or 4 year old if the mom takes care of the doll - and the mom rather wants an educational toy that the child can experiment with by herself too.

『This doll is fun to play with, and my daughter had some interest with using the potty after playing with this doll, however it is too much work on the parent. You have to mix the babies food, then you have the dishes that comes with the doll to wash, or the food will stain the bowl and spoon. You have to keep on feeding the doll its bottle till the "pee" is clear that runs out of the doll, or the food will harden inside the doll, and may break the doll down to where it doesn't funtion properly anymore. The accessories such as the babies food, and diapers are sold seperate, which gets pricey like having a real baby! I guess that is why it is called baby alive! Also, when the doll makes a "stinky" you have to wipe her down with a wet cloth or the baby food that comes out from her bottom will leave a stain on her butt, or legs if it drips down. Feeding the doll is a mess too, so you have to constantly wash the dolls bib. Overall the doll is educational, and it does help a child want to go potty, but I suggest to parents to buy a potty training doll without the mess, especially if you have other things you could be doing with your precious time then to wash a dolls bowl and spoon, and bib, and feed its bottle for like 20 minutes till its insides are cleaned out from the doll food!』

Doll Really Talks and Eats!
This version of Baby Alive is a toddler, just the right age for potty training. She has cartoonish, oversized eyes and a head of curly hair, and comes dressed in a bib and a removable dress. Press the button on her bracelet to turn her on; she'll "wake up" and say "I Love You Mommy." When she talks, her eyes blink and her mouth moves in sync with her words. When she says "I'm hungry," that's the cue to feed her.

The doll comes with a bowl and two baby food mixes. Mix one baby food packet with water and feed it to her with the included spoon. She'll "chew," ask for more, and say the food is yummy. She needs water, too: she can drink real water from the included baby bottle.

Potty Training Time
After she's done eating, the doll will say she has to go potty. Sit her on the included toilet, and she will really go. But watch out: if you wait too long, the doll will say, "Uh, oh, I had an accident," and she'll go in her diaper -- or all over you, if you're not careful! She comes with an extra diaper and wipes for cleaning and changing.

Baby Alive's most unique feature is that she gets better at using the potty after every feeding session: after the second session, she will ask to use the potty twice before going in her diaper, and after the third feeding, she'll ask to go three times before having an accident, and so on until the fifth feeding. Interactive Role-Playing Fun
While some talking toys simply recite phrases at children, Baby Alive takes it a step further by offering the opportunity for interaction. We particularly like that her interactive features allow for role-playing fun, which is a vital part of a young child's development.
