IPhone 3G used's review (Back to the basics) 『When I told my older son's I was getting this for my 8 year old, they thought I should get one of the new Lego sets, you know like star wars... I can remember spending hours upon hours with my Lego's when I was a kid. We didn't have no 'sets'. We used our imagination. Not many toys let you do this today.
So I went ahead and got this for my son who has everything and he hasn't stopped playing with them yet. He spends hours putting together his own little Lego men (armies) and builds his little Lego tanks, planes and ships and battles all day. Sure, this isn't one of the fancy sets. You know, the kind kids play with and then stick on a shelf when they have completed it. You never complete this set. I continues on as long as you have imagination.
While, I am not putting down the sets. I just think toy manufactures have run out of ideas. But hey, lets get back to the basics and let our kids grow. This was one of the best gifts I have ever gotten my son and he has already used more than any other (except his gaming systems).
Oh, and my older sons... They can't keep their hands off of them.

(Good enough for my great-nephew) 『Finally, I found a gift for my eight-year-old great-nephew that he completely loves! The big pile of legos you see in the sales picture actually comes in many separate packages encased in a big plastic box with lid. I didn't know the plates come separate, but luckily he had some from another, much smaller box of legos he already had on hand. (If this is your first Legos purchase, you need to get some plates, necessary for stabilizing the created structures.)
I dropped off the box at 8 in the morning. When I returned at 1 pm, he had made two incredible structures with two of the plates. They were creative and aesthetic. I had no idea what could be done with legos. The limit is one's imagination, and legos challenge that. The fact that these legos do not come in pre-packaged creations (Star Wars themed figures, for example) make this box require the use of the mind and imagination, dexterity and coordination. I was impressed with what my nephew could do and will do.
Legos of the non-structured form come highly recommended! Just don't forget plates!

(Great quality&fun - choking hazard for<3 y.o.) 『I just rec'd the minis as a gift for 4 y.o. son. He and his 18 month old brother love playing with them. It's the perfect size. I've had this for ~ 1 month. It appears that it will last through all my kids. Other reviews seem accurate as to quality and fun, so I'll try to add new info: Construction is of smooth wood and plastic. The wood pieces snap together with sturdy plastic plugs and grommets permanently set into the wood. All wheels are removable and the rubber "tire" (like a thick rubberband with traction grooves on the inside) comes off too. The axle for the tire is permanently fixed into the wood. The clear roof easily slides in/out without grommets or snapping but will not fall out if turned upside down. The decals are painted on - not stickers. So they don't peel off. Great. The plugs, grommets, axles, tires and roof are all color coded alike. That really helps me put the proper pieces together later. The set also includes 4 spare black tires. It's a little difficult to pull the pieces apart sometimes due to the smooth wood, but once my son figured out how to grip it around the axles, he didn't have a problem. Among other things, it's fun to flip a piece so the wheels roll on the top of the car (it's silly) or rotate the roof.
Downsides: 1. The wheels&tires are choke hazards for my 18-mo-old. As expected; the toy is not meant for that age. The 4-yr-old also removes the wheels with his mouth/teeth b/c they snap on tightly. Not all children would do this, but just be aware. I have no problem removing the wheels by hand. 2. The wheels end up all over the toy room if the toddler is around. As I said, the set includes 4 extra wheels.
Overall it's a great toy for girl or boy age 3-?. I recommend the minis and like that there are 3 to interchange parts and interact in pretend play. This is the quality I want - and would pay for - in all new or classic toys. 』

She was very fascinated by these cars, and she figured out the concept of pegs and holes surprisingly quickly. She was able to put together various cars by herself and entertained herself for 30 minutes at a time, a very long time for a young toddler. My husband and I really get a kick out of watching our son run around like crazy! We can play it with him or he can play alone, which we like. We have not experienced ANY problems with its durability. I think the two reviewers may have gotten untypical games. The animals in our game fit very snugly into their bases (to the point that our son has trouble pulling them apart at times). Our son and his friends are NOT gentle when slamming the giraffe on the animals, but it has held up fine. I agree with Jenna Hoosier's review regarding the "treasure hunt" mode not giving the kids much time to hide the animals, but honestly, the kids don't seem to mind. We have played this both indoors and outdoors and I would definitely recommend playing it outside. I think it's much more fun. The kids can spread the animals out much further and get to run more, which they seem to enjoy.
We also have Hyper Dash (which we like equally well), but I think my son enjoys this one more because he can do ALL of the levels instead of just a few like with Hyper Dash. We'll probably stick with this one for another year or so. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this game for anyone with kids 5 and under!』

I bought this game a few hours ago so I can't say how long it will last, but it sure is fun! I was going to get the regular Hyper Dash for my daughter even though it is for older kids, but I saw this one and (after much debate) I decided to get it instead. Not only is it adorable, but it burns energy. Although the regular Hyper Dash would probably have been more fun as a family game (adults enjoy it too, from what I hear) this game is very fun for her to play by herself or with a friend. Her and her cousin have been playing it in the "treasure hunt" mode, which is like hide-and-seek, for awhile and love it.
Here is how it works. There are 4 different modes of play (play alone, play with group, treasure hunt and memory) and 5 different levels. When you play alone, you spread out the four animals and the base (giraffe) calls out animals, colors, sounds, attributes or letters (depending on the level) and the child "tags" the corresponding piece with the base. You can keep all of the pieces in front of your child so that they can sit and play or you can spread them out around the room so that your child has to run around to get to them. We even put one up a couple steps so that the kids had to climb to get to it. At the end the giraffe tells you how long it took you to finish so that you can try to beat your record. Group play is the same except that the base tells you when to pass to another player. Treasure hunt is just like hide-and-seek. One player takes the giraffe and counts. The other player hides the animals and then the giraffe calls out the names of the animals one by one for the player to find and "tag." This mode is definately the favorite so far. My only complaint is that the giraffe only counts to ten and the kids don't have enough time to collect and hide the other pieces. There is no way to pause the giraffe either, so as soon as one person finds all the pieces he goes right into counting for the next person. I guess kids have short attention spans anyway, so they aren't complaining! In memory mode the giraffe calls out 1 animal name, then 2, then 3, etc. and the player has to find them in the order they were called.
Other than the issue in treasure hunt mode that I mentioned, there is one other thing that I was a little dissappointed about. The box that this game comes in cannot be used to store the pieces because it has a hole in the front that is big enough for the pieces to fall out. Even though I would prefer to have a place to keep the pieces, it's not dissappointing enough to take off a star. This game is still great!
Put simply: The pros: Pieces seem durable, cute, many modes of play, daughter loves it, active game, unique and fun! The cons: Not enough time to hide the pieces in treasure hunt mode, no box for storage.

On the other hand, if your toddler is as strong as mine is, look for the wooden blocks instead, such as Hi-5 Sorting tower.』

Addressing some concerns noted by other reviewers:
Granted they are cardboard, but seeing as their #1 purpose is to stack and then knock down, do you really want a tower of wooden blocks falling on your child's toes?
These are meant for use by children ages 2 and up. If you child is a chewer at that age, then you may have other concerns to address. The majority of age 2 children can play with a toy without gnawing all over it. My daughter started playing with these before age 2, but she also rarely chewed on toys after infancy.
If you are worried about how your child will treat these blocks, then only allow them to play with them while you are in the room. These are great toys to play WITH your child. You can monitor how they are treating them while you play with them together.
