But the baby is not as obnoxious as A Customer claims. Donald is also wrong because there is a full English translation (click on traduzione).
I was disappointed because I want badly a live action movie to learn more vocabulary and grammar. Italian movies with Italian subtitles don't work because (1) the subtitles are never exact and (2) there is the Region 2 problem.
Still, I think this comic strip exercise can have some value. But a movie would be better.』

There is NO grammar or rules to learn with this product ... you should have learned them before getting it. However, the practice given by this highly entertaining drama makes learning Italian fun and easier. If you need to increase your Italian fluency, this is the product for you.
There is NO ENGLISH translation, so having a good dictionary for words you may not yet know would be helful. All the vocabulary is arranged in an alphabetical section with the word presented and linked in context to the movie script. If you learn easily by use of context learning, then you will appreciate this approach. I believe the vocabulary section could have been more helpfully organized by the order in which the words occur in each of the scenes ... rather than alphabetically ... but this is really the only weakness of the product.
You cannot go wrong. You will be both entertained and LEARN Italian.』

(Good, but only if you learn how to watch it...) 『This is a fun way to practice Italian. You see the story frame by frame and hear the dialogue being read in Italian, then you can click to see a translation of what was said. Also you can choose to hide the words in Italian, to see if you can understand what they are saying without reading the words. It is very challenging though for me as an intermediate student. But it is also very beneficial for intermediate students and above. I definitely would not reccomend it to beginners.
And now for my biggest complaint about this program and the real reason why I felt compelled to review it. The story is based on an Asterix book where a baby shows up at their house, the comic is called Asterix and Son. Now I guess Eurotalk thought it would be fun to let you hear every single sound as it is written in the comic. In other words, if they punch a Roman and the authors wrote POW! in the book, you will hear a sound like someone getting punched. This is no problem for things like fighting and the dog barking, but in probably 75% of the frames, the baby whines. Again this is no problem in a comic book, since reading the word "Wah" doesn't hurt your eyes. But you would think for this program they would just assume that we know what a baby crying sounds like. They couldn't even let us hear it once or twice and then decide ok we get the picture. They let us hear the baby crying every single time. This gets slightly irritating after the first two pages, by the end of the first CD you will be insane and Italian will be the last thing on your mind, and you will probably be deaf too, so what good is it if you can understand Italian anyway?
The baby whines 4-5 times louder than anyone in the comic strip talks, so if you turn it down to a level where the baby's whining only hurts your ears a little bit, you will not be able to hear anything else. BTW it doesn't sound cute or even like a real baby...it sounds like some guy trying to sound like a baby. If you manage to get through the entire story, you will probably enjoy listening to people scratch their fingernails across the board or Celine Dion.
Now how could I give this product four stars despite the incessant whining? Well you have to figure out a trick that I learned. You turn the volume all the way down on your speakers, then let the next strip pop up, and see if the baby is whining in it (you will know because it will have the dialogue bubble). Then wait a few seconds, turn the volume up very gradually and when you think it is the babys turn to talk immediately turn the volume all the way down. Hopefully you will get the hang of it before you throw your computer out the window. By the way, until you have mastered this trick, do not, repeat, do not attempt to use this product without earmuffs.』

I purchased this for my child and tried to install in on a computer that operates on Windows XP. No luck. The sys req are for Win 95/98. Tech support says that it MAY not work on the XP sys, but should on older versions. So I pulled an old computer out of storage that has Win 95 on it. No luck there either. Tech support won't help because they no longer support Win 95. Maybe it would work on Win 98, but I give up. This is the 3rd disc from Knowledge Adventure that I have encountered problems like this on...and I am pretty handy with computers.』
(EXCELLENT learning for all learning styles) 『This product is exceptional! My advice is purchase it! For those who cannot use the mouse they can hit the keys to learn shapes, colors, animals, counting...etc. There is a music section for those who respond well to music. It is soooo toddler safe. You can't make a mistake by hitting a wrong key! True, if you continue to hit keys it will go on to the next example. Use this to help teach your child to hit one key (the space bar for example) and count or observe the monitor before hitting the space bar again. Practice with the mouse is wonderful...again there is no wrong way or problem with using the mouse incorrectly...it is excellent at teaching mouse skills while learning letters, etc. It also has two levels so the kids can be more challenged when ready. My daughter LOVES the painting area where she can create her own work of art and print it if she wants to! Great for hand eye coordination and more learning of letters, shapes, colors, etc. Great product, I would HIGHLY recommend this, in fact I am purchasing it now for my brother's daughter as a Christmas gift. (What are you thinking?) 『Ok.. I do not own this title. I am looking for something to buy for my 18 month old since he's bored with jumpstart baby. I have a major issue with most of these reviews --- MANY people say that a big problem with this software is that it requires the parents to be there and do it. DUH. These are toddlers - little kids! Of course a parent should be sitting right there helping out!!! My son loves moving the mouse around because I taught him how to do it, not some software. (white curser on black blackground did the trick, btw). I have no intention of plopping my baby down in front of the computer and walking away. It's just like watching the TV - a parent (or other adult) needs to be sitting right there explaining stuff and interacting with him. I don't understand how you can give a bad rating simply because it requires an adult to interact with the child. If there's something wrong or bad with the software, I want to hear it. But saying it's bad because it forces a parent to spend time with the kid is not a good reason for a bad rating!』
(Teaches Mouse Skills) 『Regardless of what other reviewers said this is THE ONLY SOFTWARE WE HAVE FOUND THAT TEACHES MOUSE SKILLS. We bought this software along with toddler verisons of Reader Rabbit, Winne the Pooh, and Sesame Street when our oldest child was about two. For over a year she was frustrated with not being able to make the games do what she wanted. Then one day we helped her 'find the animals under the leaves'. The game responds to mouse movement so clearly that in less than an hour she had it down. Now she can use the mouse to do what she wants in all her computer games with little assistance. Unfortunately, the kids stepped on and broke our Jump Start Toddler CD. We have been trying to teach mouse skills to our younger children using the other games we have, but the games just aren't cutting it. We'll be getting another copy of Jump Start Toddler soon.
My advice is to buy it at 18 months. Play the 'find the animal' game once every 3 weeks. When your child is able to understand how the mouse works, they're ready to play more often and try the other games on this software. Then get the preschool versions of Jumpstart and/or Reader Rabbit ready for the day they get bored with the toddler games.』

Music is everywhere on this CD-ROM as well; each activity has a corresponding song, belted out in DeeDee Duckling's Broadway best.
We occasionally find JumpStart's characters a bit cloying, but whoever designed DeeDee gave her some of the very same qualities that make toddlers so endearing. DeeDee fidgets, rubs her nose gleefully, and chews on the ends of her bonnet ribbons.

IPhone 3G used's review (Okay workout--best before 20 weeks) 『I rented this DVD from my local library and found that much of the Pilates work is done on your back--without modifications made for those of us past the 20-week mark. This DVD is made in Australia and does not follow the guidelines of the American College of Obstetricains and Gynecologists which says to avoid any exercises on your back after 20 weeks. I tried to make modifications, but since I'm not a Pilates expert, that was difficult. I really enjoyed the stretching parts and the Pilates that I could do, but I would have enjoyed the workout more if I could have done more of the exercies (currently 34 weeks pregnant). The instructor does comment that pregnant women should not be on their back long and so he spreads out the on-the-back exercises so that you would be on your back for several shorter sessions rather than one big long session. Just understand this workout's limitations before you decide to buy.』
