IPhone 3G used's review (Good Quality Construction - Poor Design) 『The box itself is made of quality material and has a solid feel to it.
Unfortunately, I bought the box to store video tapes and was astounded to discover that the VHS video tapes don't fit. The tapes can be inserted into the box but the box then bulges at the sides. That's just the tape. If the tape has a case - forget it. Don't even think you can get a Disney box into this. It's too bad because there aren't many alternatives available for VHS Tape storage.
I gave it three stars because the box is well constructed and should work just fine for photo storage.
I would suggest looking elsewhere for a place to put your video tapes.』 『This acid free quality storage box holds over 1,100 photos up to 4'' x 7'' or 10 VHS video cassettes. Divider index cards are included for easy classification of photos. A brass identification holder with "write-on" insert appears at the front of the box to easily identify the box's contents.』

(Does fairly well for a push toy) 『I got this for my grown sons cat. She loves it except it does not go very far on a wind up. It also does not do very well on carpet. It was a lot of fun to watch her play with it when it was new.』
(Good for a 2 player game) 『This mouse is good if you have 2 people and a cat. Then you can play "monkey in the middle", sending the cat back and forth to chase the mouse. Our kitty likes to chase the mouse and pounce on it when it stops. She plays with the mouse very little on her own.
Trying to play with this toy with 1 person and 1 kitty can be tiresome for the person. This is because you roll the mouse back, watch it go, and then have to chase it yourself to do it all again. It can be a lot of up and down.』
(for a quick game) 『My cats seem to like this at first but after a few minutes got bored.』
(Wonderful Durable Cat Toy) 『This toy is sure to be a hit. My cats love it regardless of whether I am there to back it up or not. When batted it rolls away and the tail crinks whatever way the cat wants. My cats think the tail is simply a handy handle as well as a good chew toy. But even with two cats the toy has endured and works as well as the day I got it. Even the dogs want to play with it!』 『Soft fleece catnip toy on wheels. It's a good height; not too big and not too small. It has a nice face, which I had a hard time finding. So many of these gnomes are too cute, too ugly or trying to be something other than a gnome. The butterfly decoration is very delicate so be careful when pulling it out of the box.』
(Adorable) 『This little gnome is just adorable. He lights up at night leading the way to the front door. He's solar...no batteries....just perfect for that little extra light!』 『Hiking Solar Gnome Full color natural finish. Poly resin construction. Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (Not the Best DVD) 『I saw a tape of another production of "Daughter of the Regiment" and it was fantastic. The DVD I received from Amamzon was different, although the cast was the same. The quality of the film was poor, the lighting was bad, and there was a different conductor. All in all, it did not have the same electricity as the first production that I saw.』
("La Fille" a delight for the eyes and the ears) 『Marvelous singing, fun to watch, wonderful acting and great comic timing by Natalie Dessay, 9 high Cs by Juan Diego Florez. If you want to buy only one bel canto opera buffa, get this one.』
(Another comedic masterpiece) 『I remember seeing a traditional La Fille a long time ago; I was bored stiff. But on the strength of the many 5 star reviews, I took a risk on this La Fille.
Do it! Like the Le Elisir d'amore with Netrebko and Villazon Donizetti - L'Elisir d'Amore / Eschwe, Netrebko, Villazon, Wiener Staatsoper, it takes middling music and makes it tremendous fun. Don't let the anachronistic setting (WW I?) scare you off; this is one of those cases where it works.
Dessay starts out as a near-manic, but her acting quickly turns the prosaic story into a dramatic hoot.
And then there's Florez' high C's: enough said.
I haven't seen the competing La Fille with Ciofi and Florez, but this one is simply too much fun. Get it.』
(Donizetti - La fille du regiment - Dessay and Florez) 『This is the first opera I have ever bought on DVD, and because it has been such a joyful experience, it won't be the last. I watched twice with my 3 daughters (10, 12 and 14 years old) and we were glued to the screen the whole time.
It is set during WWI. A baby girl has been raised from infancy by a French regiment. She falls in love with Tonio, a civilian, but she has promised to marry a member of the regiment. And, of course, her long-lost mother reappears to bring her home. So - will the 2 lovers ever be allowed to unite ?
The plot is light as fluff. It is a Comic Opera, so anyone expecting a serious spectacle is watching the wrong thing. One of the background sets is ugly, but utilitarian - and are we watching this to admire sets or the singing of Dessay and Florez ?
Dessay and Florez sing their hearts out in this - notably the 9 high Cs in "Ah! mes amis". It is an absolute joy to listen to, and it's funny, to boot ! Dawn French has only a speaking role but is unforgettable as the irascible Duchess. Pop this in the DVD, sit back, and enjoy - even your kids will like it (and might even break out in song once in a while later).』
(Enhanced Donizetti) 『I was not a big fan of Donizetti's operas til now. I used to find them kind of shallow, music and plot-wise. However, this version of La fille du Regiment from Covent Garden proved me completely wrong. A great stage production can make a big difference in the way you perceive an opera, and this is a perfect example of that. The other JDF's DVD of this same opera (Genova) falls short compared with this delicious Covent Garden version. Dessay is the big star of the show, she is simply fantastic. Great actress and great singer. JDF is always good but he is completely overshadowed here by the energetic and amazing Dessay. However, the most important thing is that this La Fille du Regiment acquires a different dimension under the stage direction of Laurent Pelly. Bravo for Covent Garden that has put together, in the last few years, amazing productions of beloved traditional operas like this one and le Nozze di Figaro (with Erwin Schrott), with a modern twist that is not Eurotrash but neither those old fashioned and boring MET productions lacking of imagination.』 『This DVD version of Donizetti's comic opera zooms right to the top of any list of essential videos for opera fans. It may not be the composer's best work, but given a top-notch production with world class singing actors, it brings vocal thrills and an abundance of laughs, a combination that's hard to beat. The stars are Juan Diego Flórez and Natalie Dessay, both unbeatable inbel cantoroles, and both in top form here. Flórez's mellifluous tenor is flexible enough to make child's play of the terrifying (to other tenors) nine high C's inAh! mes amis," and supple enough to make his tender love arias moving. Dessay is equally comfortable in the stratospheric coloratura passages and poignant in such heart-tugging set-pieces as her farewell to her regimental "fathers" and her misery as the victim of the Marquise's well-meaning attempts to teach her to be an aristocratic lady. She's also a terrific comic actress. In her first appearance she's doing the regiment's laundry, and her antics with the iron and the ironing board while singing elaborately difficult coloratura passages induce belly laughs. But then, so do her comic acting in many other scenes, such as her Act II entry in a silk dress and full petticoat, her walk a wonderful parody of a "lady's" heel-to-toe gait. That moment alone is worth the price of admission. Lesser roles too, are done to perfection. Felicity Palmer, a long-time Covent Garden favorite, is a delicious Marquise de Berkenfield, and Donald Maxwell, is her apt partner as Hortensius, her servant. Sergeant Sulpice, the heroine's protector, is well-sung and acted by Alessandro Corbelli, and Dawn French almost steals the show as the overbearing Duchess. Conductor Bruno Campanella leads a spirited performance, enhanced by the fine playing by the Orchestra and Chorus of the Royal Opera House. Laurent Pelly's stage direction is wonderful for its comic touches and Chantal Thomas' simple but effective sets add to the delights. The video direction efficiently serves the staging, focusing on the action and the singers without adding extraneous shots that detract from the musical flow. All of which makes this DVD a can't-miss for opera fans.--Dan DavisLa Fille du regimentis in 16:9 ratio. Sound options include PCM Stereo, Dolby 5.1 Surround and DTS 5.1 Surround. Subtitles include English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian.』 『In January 2007, superstar soprano Natalie Dessay, joined on stage by acclaimed tenor Juan Diego Florez dazzled British audiences in Laurent Pelly's new production of Donizetti's "LA FILLE DU REGIMENT". Starting off with Ravi, Anoushka Shankar right through to Joe Brown singing one of my favorites that I keep on listening to over and over "I'll see you in my dreams". The Production beautiful, sound was great and content superb. My thanks to all for a lovely night Denny 』

Many musicians try and organize the songs on their albums to try and tell a story, well this album effortlessly puts together George's Life and Soul...If you don't buy the DVD, at least buy the CD...But the DVD is astounding. Photography, lighting, scenery.. it is all here...Just seeing the greatest of the greats on stage...All of the background performers that hold up the stars are here, as well as the greatest of the greats, together to honor the mystical music of George Harrison. While I never quite got the whole idea of Billy Preston being the '5th Beatle'...now it is clear and concise...just watch and learn, watch and learn...
There are simpy not the right words...
I Started watching and listening to this before my daughter was born, now she is two,and absolutely must listen to this every car ride. A year to the day after Harrison's November 29, 2001 death, Eric Clapton assembled some musicians--people who had played with Harrison and known him intimately, including McCartney, Ringo Starr, and Tom Petty--to perform his music at London's Royal Albert Hall. They take on not just the predictable ("My Sweet Lord" and "Something," beautifully sung by Billy Preston and Sir Paul, respectively), but also lesser-known fare like "Old Brown Shoe" and "Beware of Darkness," all to superbly empathetic effect. But the tune most likely to make you misty-eyed is "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," which brings together three of the five musicians who played on the original recording: Ringo on drums, Clapton replicating his own classic solo, and McCartney playing piano and harmonizing with Clapton's lead vocal.Concert for Georgeenjoyed a brief theatrical release, but even those who caught it on the big screen will delight in this two-disc DVD edition. Disc 1 features the complete concert (sansinterview and rehearsal footage, but with a few additional songs and in the original running order), while disc 2 contains the theatrical version and some additional backstage and photo material. (What is with the 1 stars on this movie???) 『My 19 month old loves this movie. We have watched it over 100 times. I bought another Thomas the Train dvd and my son didn't make it through the first 2 minutes. This has real trains in it, plus actual people in it. I like watching this better than all the Elmo movies!!』
(Why on earth does he like it?) 『OK, I am a huge Thomas fan. (So is my 3-year-old son, but I am the one writing.) I had heard this was a horrid movie, but we were going on a long trip and I had to get a new movie for him to watch. He spotted this and there was no convincing him otherwise.
It's as if they all took acid when they put this together. I agree - the plot is hard to follow and the acting, well, STINKS! Peter Fonda looks as if he took Valium the whole time. Perhaps he did - it might have made it more bearable for him.
I will say this - my son loves watching this, but I am convinced his taste is suspended in order to enjoy the temporary "demise" of Diesel 10. If not, I have no hope for his future in the creative arts.
Buy the new Thomas movie. It's not great, but at least it's close to what we all know and love. If you are forced to watch this one, you might want a beer or two handy( - and a designated parent within earshot.)』
(stop being so critical! the kids seem to love it..) 『I just think it's so funny that most of the people that gave this movie a bad review are basing it on their own criticsm and point of view. Hey, try looking at it from the kids' perspective and as long as they like it your opinions are null.』
(1 year old LOVES it) 『My son is 13 mos and LOVES this movie. Yes Peter Fonda's acting makes me laugh but the movie is golden simply for the fact that my son can watch it over and over again and keep him entertained. Anyone who thinks the plot is hard to follow is joking because my son at 13 mos follows it and even claps at the parts when Thomas saves the day. The songs are sweet and it's a nice feel good movie for the whole family. Alec Baldwin is a hilarious straight man to his free spirited cousin. They actually make the movie tolerable for the adults who have to sit through it.』 『Thomas the tank engine gets all his friends on board to help bring evil diesel 10 to a screeching halt before he can destroy the source of the railroads magic. Studio: Sony Pictures Home Ent Release Date: 03/23/2004 Starring: Peter Fonda Alec Baldwin Run time: 85 minutes Rating: G Director: Britt Allcroft』 『Thomas, as anyone familiar with the eponymous, wildly popular TV series knows, is a very useful engine, and never more so than in his first theatrical release, which was a modest box-office success. On a tank filled with little more than pluck, determination, and goodwill, Thomas sets out full steam ahead on a danger-fraught mission to help his friend Mr. Conductor. The conductor's stash of magic gold dust has run out, leaving him stranded on the Island of Sodor with Junior, his flaky cousin, and Lily, a little girl enlisted to lift her grandfather out of a funk on nearby Muffle Mountain. When Thomas bravely chugs beyond his hometown tracks' buffers with Lily aboard, he's transported to Muffle Mountain's secret railway and to Lady, a long-lost steamer whose legendary engine makes her more powerful than Diesel, the train-yard bully. Together, Thomas and Lady lead Diesel on a chase that causes a bridge to collapse, taking the dastardly Diesel down with it. Most impressive about the movie is its marquee names: Alec Baldwin works magic as the dutiful worrywart Mr. Conductor, Mara Wilson is Lily, and Peter Fonda plays the cool-looking but lugubrious Grandpa. It's a cast that'll keep put-upon parents watching, if halfheartedly. Thomas fans 5 and under, meanwhile, will wish the actors wouldn't blow so much hot air; they'll want to see their hero a bigger part in steaming up the story line.--Tammy La Gorce』

IPhone 3G used's review (Fantastic for kids -- and probably adults too!) 『I watched this movie many times as a kid (for some reason, it was on early Saturday mornings a bunch of times), and I *loved* it. I just remembered it now for some reason, and had to look it up! It's a classic, and I highly recommend it.』
(Mouse and the Motorcycle) 『I saw this movie as a child in the ABC Specials too... now my 7 year old just finished reading the book and when I told him I saw the movie he couldn't wait to see it too! We looked all over for the DVD since I do not own a VCR but we can not find it on DVD anywhere, he was disappointed but i don't want to buy a VCR just for this one movie! If anyone knows if there is a DVD version out there let us know!!!! Please.』
(A Cute Tale) 『A cute tale about a young boy staying overnight at a motel with his parents, when he meets a furry little friend who resides inside the wall of his motel room. The boy and mouse help one another out in nice ways, making the stay enjoyable for both boy and mouse. Only the mouse and his family are animated in this film. Very good actors perform in the film, some of which are familar faces. My 8-year-old son enjoyed the movie, but my 10-year-old daughter was somewhat bored. The only qualm I had was I thought the voice of the mouse sounded somewhat overly "cutesy", borderline corny. The boy's voice was more mature than the mouse's. Overall, a nice family show for viewing with younger children.』
(Funny!) 『The Mouse&The Motorcycle is funny, but I did hear of the book, why I wonder if there are mice that can ride motorcycles, since Stuart Little could ride a toy car.』
(The Mouse From a Book now in a TV Movie) 『Hey kids! This 1986 television special, which was based on a best-selling novel, and also had two following movies: Ralph S. Mouse(1987) and Runaway Ralph(1988), also based on novels, is a great film. The animation is kind of cheap, but it is funny in most of it, and is a great family story. Talk your parents into getting it along with the other 2. You'll luv 'em!』 『Bored, bored, bored. That's how young Keith feels about being stranded at the time-worn Mountain View Inn with his parents. Then he meets Ralph, an equally stir-crazy mouse who quickly befriends Keith and begs to ride Keith's toy motorcycle. Soon Ralph masters the tiny two-wheeler and "rrroom-zzzooms" through the hotel hallways, dodging four-legged predators, adults, and the occasional vacuum; he even risks his furry skin to help Keith recover from a high fever. Based on Beverly Cleary's famous children's novel of the same name, this 42-minute video combines live-action talent (including Ray Walston as the wise bellhop) and award-winning stop-motion animation. While the dated look of the TV movie may not appeal to kids who prefer the heart-pumping action of computer-generated favorites such asSmall Soldiers, its tame plot and relatively slow pace makeThe Mouse and the Motorcyclea healthy choice for families with 3- to 7-year-olds. Followed by an even popular sequel,Runaway Ralph.--Liane Thomas』
IPhone 3G used's review (Science Rocks Rocks) 『It taught me about science in a different way from the way people normally learn about science. I liked it because it's got some funny parts. Lots of times people learn science by seeing and having someone explain things to them. But this is different. For example, Telegraph Line uses a mailman delivering messages from the brain, which people don't usually see. This makes learning fun.』

(The Science Rock videos from Schoolhouse Rock!) 『Interplanet Janet She's a galaxy girl A solar system miss From a future world. She travels like a rocket With her comet team, And there's never been a planet Janet hasn't seen. No, there's never been a planet Janet hasn't seen.
Yes, the 1970s gave us Watergate and long lines to buy gas, but there was also the bicentennial, "Jaws" and "Schoolhouse Rock!" Who does not have fond memories of those 3-minute cartoons that aired on ABC television on Saturday mornings teaching a generation of children about history, government, math, grammar, and science? What kid does not know that a noun is a person, place, or thing or cannot explain how a bill becomes a law? (I am shocked that "I'm Just a Bill" is only #2 on the list of most popular Schoolhouse Rocks! behind "Conjunction Junction"). As you can tell, "interplanetary Janet" (#8), with its tour of the solar system, is my favorite Science Rock, although I guess it is not too shocking that "Electricity, Electricity" (#5) ranks higher. For the record, here the complete list of Science Rocks:
"Body Machine" which needs things like chicken salad sandwiches as fuel; "Circulation," the big new craze as everybody is doing the circulation; "Electricity, Electricity" on the use of electrical power; "Energy" or more accurately Energy Conservation; "Interplanet Janet" and a tour of the Solar System; "Telegraph Line" all about the Nervous System; "Them Not-So-Dry Bones" without which you would be just a blob; "Victim of Gravity" sung by the Tokens; and "Weather" the greatest show on Earth!
Science teachers around the U.S. can still use these wonderful little "rock videos" to both introduce key topics and to provide a bit of musical reinforcement. I know that music is still being used in schools to help students learn material (my daughter can sing a song with all the state capitals and there is a woman at work who can do all the nations of the world) and that was the guiding principle behind "Schoolhouse Rock." The series was created by an advertising executive who noticed his song was having trouble with memorizing multiplication tables but knew all the words to the latest rock songs. Faster than you can say, "you got chocolate in my peanut butter" he put the two together and the rest is not just history, but science, math, grammar and government.
You can pick up individual videos of "Science Rock," "America Rock," "Grammar Rock," and "Multiplication Rock," but be aware that there is also a DVD edition that has ALL of the "Schoolhouse Rock" cartoons and the proverbial much, much more. I might have been too old for "Sesame Street," but I was never too old for "Schoolhouse Rock!"』
(Schoolhouse Rock Rocks my house!) 『Science Rock is great. It's amazing that in 25 years no one's been able to top it. I wonder how many high school seniors know as much as a kid who watches these videos about science. I prefer DVD, but whatever. My kids watch it all the time. I like it too. The songs are fun! The clever rhymes are unforgettable, but unlike some annoying kid's songs, you don't really want to forget these. I really feel like my kids need to be informed about the Bible too, so I'm overjoyed that they recently made a CD and DVD called Scripture Rock.』

(ONE OF THE BEST!!!) 『I watched it for the second time in my life last night after what I think is 13 years (I'm 18 now), and I'm reminded why I loved this movie so much. Not only are the animations and music great, but the underlying lessons that are taught about trustworthy friendship and the tribulations that life gives us. The world we live in today is constantly telling us that we need to network and make contacts in order to insure ourselves in job security, financial security, or even emotional security. Friendship is meant so that we form bonds that last lifetimes. I've relearned a valuable lesson from this movie. I would also like to recommend my most favority Disney classic, The Jungle Book. This movie also has the same underlying message of the strength of friendship with one of everyone having their own place in the "jungle". I hope that this review has helped those who want to teach their children life lessons wrapped in a Disney box.』
(HIGHLY disappointing) 『Disney did not make this available in widescreen. You would think that a newly released movie would be a little more "this century". I returned it without even opening it. 1. Package has those horrible, NEVER, should have been designed 2 little flip open flaps on it. I HATE THESE THINGS. 2. Package ONLY had 1 DVD. I expected 2 DVD's. 3. Only OK extras. I always do like the "Making Of" features but other than an "Art Gallery" there was not that much as for extras UNLESS you are a child. 4. No brochure, any information on the film. 25th anniversary&the company could not give information on the film? Cheap. 5. And NOT WIDE SCREEN.
Needless to say, I was just disappointed with this. I expect more from Disney. 』
