Food does not stick and it cleans beautifully. My only disappointment is that the Cafe color is actually more brown than Cafe. Other than that I would recommend buying it. Also, I felt that the price was reasonable.』
(I love this pot!) 『This cast iron dutch oven is awesome! The food comes out so moist and tender!!!! It was a great buy and is a smart purchase.』
(Love my Dutch Oven!) 『Quick service from this vendor. wonderful product and I love how great it cooks!』
(Lodge enamel dutch oven) 『Exactly the size and shape I wanted. The dutch oven is very sturdy and well enameled. I got the cafe color and the color is nice and vibrant. I especially like the white enameled interior of the pot and lid - that makes it easier to see what you are cooking. It was well packaged and arrived in perfect condition and exactly on time.』
(Fantastic value - as good as Le Creuset!) 『Have had a Le Creuset enamel cast iron pot for a few years. Very nice, but I never added more pieces because of the exorbitant expense. Then I discovered Lodge of Tennessee. 120-year old company. Got the 6-quart and 3-quart Lodge "Color" series of enamel cast iron Dutch Ovens -- what a fantastic treat! I adore these Dutch Ovens. Other than color and subtle styling differences I cannot tell the Lodge pieces from the Le Creuset. They are lovely, highly functional and surprisingly easy to clean -- even after cooking and storing chili in the 6-quart for days and potato salad in the 3-quart. Five stars is not enough to convey the tremendous value of these Lodge Dutch Ovens, and that's at full price. I've now been giving them away for birthday presents.』 『For more than a century home cooks and great chefs have cherished their round enamel cast iron ovens. From the stovetop and oven, to its elegant table presentation, Lodge Enamel provides superior cooking performance, versatility, and unparalleled style. When you're finished with your meal simply store your food in the refrigerator or freezer without any concern about food reacting to the porcelain enamel surface.』

Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (Great for kids) 『My kids got into WordWorld from watching it on PBS. It's clever, nice, and well written. But not annoying like many of the kids shows on television today. I enjoy watching it! My kids prefer WordWorld over other shows. It has 4 episodes on the disk that are about 10 to 15 minutes long. Perfect for kids attention span or if you want to use one episode as a reward.』
(Like WordWorld, but not the assembled material) 『First, the bad: The length of each episode is short. I feel they should have put more episodes on each dvd. When compared to other preschool videos, this is short. Curious George is a much better deal! Also, they sneak advertisements in unexpected places. I usually make sure to skip the promotional material for my daughter, but these guys are sneaky about where they put it, and that's not playing fair.
That said, I love WordWorld! The stories really help my preschooler with putting words together and how different letters function together. Some subjects are treated too lightly (e.g., treating fall migration as a vacation), but I suppose you can't accomplish all learning goals with one product (unless you're Sesame Street!). Overall, watching WordWorld has nicely complemented the preschool learning that my pre-kindergartner is getting at her Montessori school.』
(Great Learning Video) 『This is a great kids learning video. The animation is great quality and the characters are easy to love. I recommend this series.』
(Keeps my kid busy for hours) 『We must have watched this so many times that I have it memorized. She learns how to sight read words while learning lessons and being entertained. What could be better?』
(Excellent for the kidlings) 『I have a two year old that just loves this show. It's done a great job teaching her the alphabet in an entertaining way, and isn't annoying like most kids TV these days. As for the DVD, it has a very appropriate run time for the price. You can't go wrong.』 『Studio: Ncircle Entertainment Release Date: 04/08/2008』

Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (it ok) 『it is better in person this was more musical and singing than the other blue man show i dont know who those people are singing but it ok』
(Megastar Vs The Complex) 『Both concert DVD's are a lot of fun, and the music is great. I have to give the Megastar DVD the nod as the best of the two DVD's. Watching the concert in HD is such an improvement. The light show is far superior, the music tighter and more refined. Sound is slightly better. Their new female vocalist Adrian Hartley projects her outstanding voice better than the Complexes guest vocalists. Megastar also has a Ace of a cut playing Pink Floyd's One Of These Days. It is one awesome over the top rocker that might make you say, Blue Floyd Rocks, Pink who? Last comment, HD TV is like looking out a clean window, while the old tv is like looking out a very dirty window. If you can afford one buy it. Blue Man Group Rocks! Megastar 5 Stars The Complex 4 Stars.』
(a fantastic concert!) 『Blue Man Group is a strange experience, I suppose. It's as much theater as rock band, but then what great band isn't as much theater as rock?
This DVD shows a concert tour the group did, rather than a Las Vegas show. So, it's a performance from band to audience, and not so much a comedy and audience involvement show as they would do in Sin City or elsewhere. As such, it's a lot of fun to watch and listen to, and is not likely to grow old with repeated watching.
I'm not going to dwell on each song or particular aspects of the show, other than to say that their performance of Baba O'Reilly is one of the best rock performances recorded, ever, by anyone. That cut alone is worth the price of the DVD. It will astonish you that they can pull it off live.It will rock you from head to toe. I would have bought just that song on a DVD and been perfectly satisfied. It's that good.
And the rest of the DVD is almost as fine. Five stars, without hesitation.』
(Good but not great) 『First time seeing the group and was interesting. Saw clips of video at c. city and felt compelled to buy it. Some interesting and good songs, but not all of them. Same as entertainment value, some was good, some was ok. Nothing bad, nothing over the top.』
(Quite a show!) 『I enjoyed this video tremendously. An exhilerating work of percussion. The way they mixed in the other intruments was fabulous! 』 『Studio: Wea-des Moines Video Release Date: 11/25/2003』
IPhone 3G used's review (My Wife Loved It) 『This brought back a lot of great memories. The DVD has a variety of concerts and videos.』
(Wonderful) 『I agree with the previous review. If only the past could be healed and Steve could rejoin Journey once again. That would be a concert sold out for years in advance! Does Journey even realize that they would have the rest of their touring days booked if they were to get back together with Steve? I would want to be there for each and every concert since I was unable to attend any when they were touring back in the day. I look forward to receiving these videos!』
(Journey's Greatest Hits DVD) 『AWESOME! This is Steve Perry at his best and every song has you singing along while he works his magic!』
(Missing Steve Perry...The Greatest DVD!) 『I never had the privilege of seeing or meeting Steve Perry or Journey. I have followed their music since Steve came to them and made them famous. And yes, despite certain people claiming that they made him, not true! He made them better, they made each other. The music became their babies and like Steve said, "He set them free, they either make it or they fall."(meaning the song they wrote) Something like that anyway. Music is this mans life and he gave up everything and we should honor him. I am telling you that this Re-mastered DVD and CD which was completed by the Legend himself is a great investment if you don't have it. I enjoy it over and over again. Thanks Steve, You did a great job! Hope to hear from your Golden Voice soon, Love You!』
(rediscover the Journey) 『video collection is a great trip down memory lane. The music and live performances evidence why Journey was one of the great arena bands of the late 70s and 80s. Treat yourself to some great music, live performances, (rather corny) videos, and fun memories. Amazon price is unbeatable.』 『It will be many years before Journey's music will be known as anything but soupy '70s arena rock and embarrassingly overwrought '80s pop. But that day will come: the songs and the playing are just too good for the scorn and ridicule to endure forever.Journey: Greatest Hits DVD 1978-1997will do little, however, to hasten the band's salvation. In fact, if it weren't such a gift to those who love the music, a case could be made for suppressing the disc's video content, so unimaginative is most of the directing and so damning is the attire (or lack thereof).
But even if sweaty guys running around in tight jeans and no underwear isn't really your thing, the disc has its treats. There's MTV nostalgia, pure and simple--"Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)," with its mimed quayside performance and strutting high-heeled model, is perhaps the quintessential "What were they thinking?" video. We also get exciting glimpses of the early band (with keyboardist Gregg Rolie passing the lead-vocal torch to newcomer Steve Perry) kicking out classics like "Feeling That Way," "Lights," and "Just the Same Way." Many of the songs feature live audio as well as video, and it's here, most notably in "Who's Crying Now" and "Stone in Love," that lead guitarist Neal Schon cuts loose with some extended licks. An unexpected pleasure is 1996's heartfelt ballad "When You Love a Woman." The guys are aging gracefully, Steve Smith's drumming is better than ever, and the video itself boasts the most tasteful production of the bunch.--Michael Mikesell』
IPhone 3G used's review (never recieved item) 『I ordered this item over a month ago and have yet to recieve it. I contacted both the seller and amazon yet still to hear back. Poor customer service』
(I love this movie) 『I saw this movie on TV several years ago and searched and searched for it before finding it here. I think I paid $12.00 for it. I bought one for my mother last year and paid $60.00. I think the movie is totally worth the price. It'sone of my favorite movies I have seen. I have loaned it to several people who agree with me. I doubt, since it was a made for TV movie that it is in 'bargan bins', if it was I would buy them all for fear of mine getting scratched and destroyed! I think this movie is a must see for middle school aged kids-it's a lesson, sad at times, but that is how our country was! I think it can brings an awareness and show how far many of us have come!』
(I wasn't even alive in the 60s and I knew what was missing!) 『I was impressed with the 70s so I rented this DVD and was sadly disappointed. Apparently, the producers thought Bob Dylan was the only musical influence of that time...not to mention hearing him constantly throughout the movie was beyond annoying. On TV this was four hours long (with commercials) but it just seemed to skim the surface of everything. This had the potential of being something really great but it's just as if they took the actors, threw them in 60s clothes, and threw in some archive footage with a sorry excuse for a story line.』
(Not Complete) 『I saw this when it originally aired on TV, and there was a scene (right before the 7 minutes in heaven scene) that showed the family watching the Beatles on Ed Sullivan. What happened to it? It was cut out of the DVD and VHS versions!! The Beatles were a HUGE part of the 60's and should be included!!!! This is a butchered edition!!!!』
($80.00!!!) 『I saw this movie a long time ago on televison&I liked it. But there is no way I'm paying $80.00 for it. Come on people!!!』 『Tackling an entire decade--and a turbulent one at that--within a three-hour movie is a challenge, and whileThe '60sis frequently entertaining, it unfortunately is not completely up to the task. The movie follows the lives of four young people, three from a white suburban family with parents out ofThe Wonder Yearsand one African American from the South. The characters are forced into one-dimensional clichés; they are their personas to the nth degree. Katie (Julia Stiles), the pretty young blond, is the lost hippie; Brian (Jerry O'Connell), the former high school football player, is the gung-ho-turned-disgruntled Vietnam solider; Michael (Josh Hamilton) exemplifies the political activist; and Emmet(Leonard Roberts), the only representative of the entire black movement of the '60s, plays first the pacifist who effects change through nonviolent means and then the Black Panther, and then he finally returns to his nonviolent ways. Yet despite the trite characters and slow beginning, the movie picks up pace as each becomes involved in his or her own story. They become strangely compelling, to the point where you are sorry when the story switches to another character because you want to see more.
An eclectic shooting style--a mixture of archival footage, seamlessly spliced with shots of the miniseries in black and white, which then becomes color--effectively places the characters in the '60s context. You can believe that these folks were at the Democratic Convention in Chicago or the Watts riots or Woodstock. Yet, sometimes a break is needed: the film is unrelenting in presenting crisis after crisis with no respite, making one wonder if there wereanyquiet, simple, or nice moments in the entire decade. The sentimental soundtrack plays continuously, helping set the appropriate tone and the frenetic atmosphere of the movie. For those who lived through the '60s, this miniseries provides a nostalgic look back at the various movements and a general feel of the time, especially with the proliferation of film clips that aren't oft repeated (we've all seen the moon landing ad nauseam, but footage of Abbie Hoffman or Dylan playing the club scene in the East Village are refreshing). And for those born after this period, this miniseries makes the decade look like a frenzied, troubled mess that we can be grateful we had the good fortune to miss.--Jenny Brown』
IPhone 3G used's review (Watch "Cannery Row", it will become one of your favorites too!) 『The film "Cannery Row" is one of my all time favorites! Yes, I have read the novel "Cannery Row" many times and I love it and I did read "Sweet Thursday" many years ago. I know to some what I am about to say would seem sacrilegious, but I actually feel that this film improved the story of "Cannery Row". It gave the character "Doc" a love interest which helps to round out the story and made the whole flow of the story much, much better, omitting only parts of the book which were relatively minor. I especially appreciated the omission of the large number of deaths which took place in the first half of the book. In the film they would have just made the tone of the story wayyyyy too dark! I also like the amalgamation made with several characters in the book into one or two characters in the film and even the changing of some characters such as store owner "Lee Chong" into "Joseph and Mary" (one male character!). For one thing, I just can't see "Lee Chong" dressed up like Dracula. I also love the history made for "Doc" in the film (which is not in the book), about his having been a potentially great pro baseball player who quits at a young age, and his connection to the character "The Seer", in the film. One of my favorite scenes from the film which was in the novel was the wonderful scene of fulfilling the legend of the "Beer Milkshake" and "Doc`s" reaction after tasting it. All in all, the book is like the film but just gives us more background to certain events in the film and the film adds some things to the story, which while not intended by John Steinbeck, still brings the story more depth and flavor.
The film has perfect casting! There isn't a single actor's performance that isn't simply wonderful. There are many standout performances in this film. I have never been a big fan of most of Nick Nolte's work, but I truly can't see anyone else but him portraying "Doc". He's superb and strikes just the right tone of an educated man of science living in a place where he is surrounded by mostly uneducated salt-of-the-earth types. Debra Winger brings exactly the kind of feistiness, vulnerability and sexiness needed by the role of "Suzy". Even here voice, which can be a bit high pitched when she is excited, is in itself endearing in this setting. M. Emmet Walsh as the chief bum "Mack" who has been in countless movies as a supporting actor gives one of his finest performances here. Walsh brings a harmless abrasiveness to the role while still making him thoroughly likable. Frank McRae as the strong but mentally challenged "Hazel" brings a heartwarming innocence to the role which was different from the way "Hazel" is written in the book. I prefer the film "Hazel". The addition of the plot thread where "Hazel" is convinced by a psychic reading that he is destined to become the President of the United States and the subsequent anguish this causes him always warms my heart and makes me smile. The town Madame and owner of the Bear Flag Restaurant brothel, who in the book is called Dora but in the film is called Fauna who is based upon a real Madame named Flora, is precisely played by Audra Lindley. She has the "flaming orange hair" and plays the flamboyant style but earthy wisdom of the character to a "T". Another great performance is from Sunshine Parker who portrays the character of "The Seer" in the film. He might be a bit old for the role, in comparison to "Doc", but he brings a sweetness to the role that makes one smile and makes me cry every time I see the scene near the end of the film. Also, I would agree that, most of the time, narration in a film can be a bit annoying (example: original theatrical release of "Blade Runner"!) and can draw away from the film, but not in this case. In this film you have the wonderful avuncular voice of the great John Huston, the actor/director. He mixes in just enough narration to the film to make it comforting but not annoying. In fact, after I saw this movie the first time from then on when I read the "Cannery Row" novel I hear John Huston's voice in my head when I read the narrative of the book. For that matter the same goes for all the other similar characters between the book and film too!
The Direction of the film was extremely well done by David S. Ward and he deserves a great deal more credit and recognition for this film than has ever been accorded to him.
As far as the sets and scenery in the film, anyone who has lived in a fishing village knows how accurate the sets and scenery were are in this film. I have never lived in Monterey, California but I have lived in or frequently visited many fishing towns along the coast of Oregon, such as Bandon, Newport, Charleston and Coos Bay, and every time I watch this film it is like coming home to those places.
The music of the film is perfect. Mostly jazz and swamp boogie piano, much of which was played by the great jazz pianist Dr. John, along with some finely chosen classical pieces brings a great flavor to the film and helps the viewer even further in feeling they are transported back to that time.
Finally, it is a special kind of film that makes you wish you lived in an economically depressed, industrialized town that stinks like dead fish and where you live around professional bums and a whorehouse! I've lived in similar places and watching this film always gives me the yearning to go back to those towns. Many people who like or even love this film have said that it is one of the most underrated and under-recognized films in movie history and I couldn't agree more! This film deserved many Oscar's which it didn't receive. I have been waiting for years and years for this film to finally be released on DVD and I am thrilled beyond words to see that my wish is finally going to come true! I transferred my VHS copy to DVD-R a couple of years ago so that my tape wouldn't deteriorate any further but the original VHS release was always substandard and of poor quality. It was in full screen and when the transfer was made they didn't even properly center the picture, so even bits of the opening credits are cut off at the edge of the screen. I hope this will be a Widescreen release which this film so desperately needs and deserves so we can see the film finally as the Director intended it to be seen. I think it will help bring this wonderful film to the attention of a whole new generation of film lovers and bring it the recognition it has missed in the passed. I couldn't give a higher recommendation for this film than "See it, you will LOVE it"!』
(Finally!) 『Finally! I've been waiting for this to hit DVD for years! I was just about to break down and get it on VHS, and now here it is!』
(A suggestion to Tom Keogh) 『Dear Tom Keogh, re: your review, verisimilitude? egregious contrivances? Just a suggestion to you: get the hell over yourself.』
(DVD disaster) 『The original film was in beautiful widescreen. The DVD is cropped and therefore should be avoided--a disaster and a shame that Warner Bros. couldn't show proper respect to a beautiful film. Don't waste your money on this.』
(Finally . . . on DVD) 『I am so excited that the DVD will soon be available for this wonderful movie. It is one of my top 10 movies that I have been waiting years to come out on DVD. I highly recommend it. Love the dance scene, one of the best movie moments ever. Love the whole quirky, funny, sweet movie!!!!』 『This 1982 effort at adapting John Steinbeck'sSweet ThursdayandCannery Rowis barely watchable, salvaged only by the thoughtful performances of Nick Nolte as a marine biologist and Debra Winger as a drifter. David S. Ward (Down Periscope) made his directorial debut and thoroughly botched such essentials as pacing and verisimilitude. (The sets look as artificial as any of Francis Ford Coppolla's more egregious contrivances.) If you can stay with it, however, there are plenty of good acting moments to hang your hat on.--Tom Keogh』
IPhone 3G used's review (Samson&Deliliah) 『A very well done movie. Never dreamed I would find it but am so glad that Amazon had it. Thank you.......』
(Still not on DVD? WHY????) 『People have been asking for years and no one's listening! I don't want a South Korean/HongKong import. Is it too much to ask? If they can release some tripe, recent TV shows, they can put this classic out on DVD.』
(MOVIE SYNOPSIS) 『This dazzling biblical epic, based on the Old Testament story of the legendary strongman and the treacherous woman who betrayed him, became an instant classic in the "only by DeMille" tradition. Victor Mature stars as Samson, a proud and strong slave who gallantly fights for the love of a beautiful Philistine (Angela Lansbury). In a spectacular sequence, the rippling Samson fights a lion with his bare hands in order to gain the woman's hand in marriage as her sister, Delilah (Heddy Lamar), jealously looks on. On the evening of their wedding feast a battle erupts between Samson and jealous Philistines, tragically killing the young bride. Shattered, Samson declares vengeance on the Philistines as Delilah vows to avenge her sister's death. Samson becomes a legendary fighter of superhuman strength, unbeatable by even the greatest Philistine warriors. Only one thing can stop him--the love of a beautiful woman. DeMille creates a sumptuous oasis of Hollywood glamour in which Delilah and Samson swoon in this romantic epic that recalls the finery and splendid overblown production values of Joseph L. Mankiewicz's legendary CLEOPATRA. DeMille's passion for disaster is vividly employed in the stone-shattering climax. The film also features eye-popping costume creations from legendary designer Edith Head.
』
(Still waiting for this movie on DVD with closed caption) 『I have enjoyed this classic movie. It's really silly to have 2-hour movie on 2 VHS tapes which take up too much space in my video cabinet. I deducted 1 star for this reason.
Studio, if you read this, I hope you will have this movie transferred to DVD with closed-caption included, of course, in the near future. I wonder why it wasn't done so since it's as good as other classic movies like Ben Hur, Ten Commandments, The Robe, Demetrius and the Gladiators, Spartacus, etc. and I have those DVDs in my collection already.』
(Samson&Delilah (1950) DVD , DVD DVD????? WHEN?) 『I saw the the movie when it played in the theater. I got the VHS version on 2 separate tapes which is frustrating to change tapes.
I see other movies on DVD by Victor Mature like Demetrius&The Gladiators, The Robe. Other movies like Ten Commandments, Ben Hur. All these releases on DVD and NO SAMSON&DELILAH!!!!!!ON DVD!!!!!!
When in the world are they going to release this movie on DVD???
I loved this movie and I keep asking, WHEN IS THIS MOVIE, "SAMSON&DELILAH" with Victor Mature&Hedy Lamaar are going to be released???? WHEN??? PLEASE MAKE IT SOON!!!! 』 『Behaving as if it hadn't already been immortalized in Judges, chapters 13-16, Cecil B. DeMille immortalized history's most famous haircut all over again in this 1949 classic of the Epic Saga genre. Victor Mature is a trifle bovine as Samson--which perhaps isn't so inappropriate--but Hedy Lamarr's Delilah is a magnet on fire. Impossibly perfect and sexy, she sashays through the movie in a whole wardrobe of revealing halter tops, bending the men like blades of grass. These days it's hard to enjoy a DeMille film without condescension: from Samson's fight with a lion that might well be stuffed, to the famous collapsing-temple scene, we are constantly aware of how far movies have come, and the Philistines parade around in costumes that won an Oscar but can only remind the modern viewer of Klingon cocktail parties. But in so many other ways this is very classy filmmaking. DeMille takes considerable liberties with the biblical story to come up with a sort ofUr-narrative of love, betrayal, and remorse that you can swallow very nicely with or without its religious ingredient. Best exchange: Lamarr--"You killed him with... your hands. Oh, Samson!" (Jumps on Mature's back.) Mature--"Hey! One cat at a time!" Also stars George Sanders, a very youthful (and miscast) Angela Lansbury, and impassioned music by Victor Young.--Richard Farr』
