(Corn holders that really hold!)
『I've bought SO many corn holders over the years made out of everything imaginable. My husband is a corn lover, to the max, so I am always looking to surprise him with presents to make his corn eating experience even better. It has been frustrating - they lose thier partners, break, prongs bend, corn slips off, etc.
NOW I have found the perfect corn holders for us. They really hold all ear sizes, are sturdy, and have a really great and comfy grip.
Nice plus that they interlock for storage so one doesn't get lost leaving 1/2 of a pair.
Highly recommended!』

(corn holders are awesome!)
『I love everything about these! The colors are vibrant. They are meaty enough to hold on to. Dishwasher safe, and the best part is they interlock so that they stay paired up when put away.』

(corncob holders)
『These corncob holders are the best I have seen - better than the ones I had (that broke due to lack of strength). They are sturdy and hold the corncob firmly for easy eating.』

(Fun and safe)
『Great colors and we love the larger size. Especially great is the fact we no longer stick our fingers reaching into the drawer to get these out!』

(Summer time fun!)
『What a great way to add to your summer picnics. Very colorful so all can have their very own set of corn cob holders. Easy to hold!』
『Protect your fingers from both the hot corn and the holder prongs with these brightly colored interlocking corn holders from Zyliss.』

(Somebody help - what is this product, a DVD with a bonus CD?)
『I'm confused on what this product is. Help me please. Are the 1978 and 1983 video concerts on a DVD, and the bonus (second) disc is an audio CD? Please help .... thanks!』

(At a point below zero...)
『From 1975 to 1979, hard rock was in its golden age as a result of an art form known as the double (or sometimes single) live album. And there was no record that best captured this day and age in more perfect form than Thin Lizzy's `Live and Dangerous' released in June 1978. Often cited as the premier live document of all time, this opus captured an in hindsight criminally underappreciated band in all of their ragged glory. These guys were untouchable and there was no cooler front man on the planet than Philip Parris Lynott! Behind him was Lizzy's greatest lineup in blood brother/rhythm genius Brian Downey and the ultra combustible duo of Brian Robertson and Scott Gorham. In America, where they were often delegated to support act status (how stupid were we?), headliners would shudder at the very mention of their name. At the time of `L&D''s release, a Sounds magazine critic called them the greatest hard rock band in the world, but today in 2008, the kids don't really know. As with any live document worth its salt, all the best (or most of the best) are here in peak performance form. To list my favorites would be listing most of the album but anyway - "Massacre", "Emerald" and "Rosalie" to name my top three. For pure six-string brilliance take Gorham on the first and Robbo and the last two, mind blowing! "Jailbreak" is the opener and man what a stunner (I love when he says, "I think it's safer" in that low almost throw away register!). The way "Cowboy Song" flows into "Boys" is just pure majestic alchemy! "Suicide" is gut wrenching, "The Rocker", pure delirium and "Don't Believe a Word" as macho tough a love song as one can get. You get the slow songs as well and Lizzy did them as well as anyone and two non-lpers which are fair but they don't make this record any more special than it already is (as if that were possible). As far as how "live" this album, if it bothers you that much - don't bother. This was Lizzy's REAL best of....and it really could be the greatest live album of all time.』

(Powerful live album from Thin Lizzy)
『Live and Dangerous is one of the best live albums ever made IMO at least. This album perfectly captures Thin Lizzy`s powerful live show during their heyday with the classic lineup of the late great Philip Lynott, Brian Downey, Brian Robertson and Scott Gorman, who absolutely delivers their unbelievably great brand of hard rock from start to finish on this album.

Top songs: Still In Love With You(greatest live Lizzy song ever), Johnny The Fox Meets Jimmy The Weed, Dancing In The Moonlight, Jailbreak, Sha-La-La and Warrior.

I highly recommend Live And Dangerous to everyone, especially fans of great classic rock from the 70`s. I guarantee that you most likely will be very addicted listening to this great album.』

(The Show That Never Ends)
『Simply, Thin Lizzy remains a vastly underrated band&Live and Dangerous - when the title was originally issued on a double live album - is one of the best live sets from the 1970s, when such releases became very popular.

And this package highlights the band in all its glory, on stage and delivering high-octane music to an appreciative audience. The DVD portion features a 1978 concert from the Rainbow Theatre, which is not the venue where the double live album was recorded. Phil Lynott (vocals, bass) keeps the joint rocking by seemingly feeding off the crowd's energy from the opening note to the closing chord.

There is also the highly-acclaimed 1983 "Farewell" concert from the Regal Theatre, selections from appearances on Top of the Pops and interviews with band members Scott Gorham (guitar), Brian Robertson (guitar), Brian Downey (drums and percussion). The bonus CD is a treat, a 1975 concert from Derby College.

This is a fantastic collection of outstanding performances from a band that defined the golden era of arena rock.

(This album is one of the top-ten albums of ALL TIME)
『This album goes beyond being another great album. There are lots of "great" albums that pale in comparison to L&D. This album documents more than any other Thin Lizzy work the phenomonally great songwriting and musicianhship of Thin Lizzy. The guitar tandem here is arguably the best ever in recorded music. I am lucky enough to have seen them live on the Chinatown tour. I have seen multitudues of concerts and have not seen an audience slayed with such ferocity as Thin Lizzy on that night. No live recording can ever recreate the experience of being there. However, Live and Dangerous comes as close you can get.

I have heard all of the other live Thin Lizzy albums available. Don't bother. They all pale badly in comparison to the original Live&Dangerous.

Buy this album and revel in its innate "greatness".』

(4 yr old enjoys)
『Almost too much info., does seem to drag on for mom but my 4 yr. old enjoys watching it.』

(annoying and irresponsible)
『There is way too much mindless chitchat between the two hosts. My 20 month old makes me fast-forward all the talking bits until an actual truck is shown. Don't talk down to kids...they hate it even at a young age. And it drives adults crazy! Also, there are several instances when the hosts are rude and snarky to each other or doing something stupidly dangerous in order to get a laugh....for instance: host Dave gets blasted with a fire hose and he falls down, host Becky gets dumped into the back of the dump truck, Dave gets dumped, too, and then the two jump out of a big garbage truck and when it starts to roll away without a driver, they chase after it.

Okay, so my kid doesn't really get all that yet, but still. What's the point of doing all that? There are some really good bits about where the recycling goes....these nice informative parts could be better explored with Dave (who has a nice announcer's voice) doing a voice over. Stay behind the camera Dave, and better editing would be good, too. Also, don't let the untrained professionals (like the firefighters and garbage dudes) ramble on and on about their profession without a script; and if they stutter or stumble, then for chrissakes, reshoot it. Really lame waste of $10. Will not be showing it to my kid again if only to save my own sanity, and to prevent him from acting like a buffoon like the hosts.』

(Review, There Goes a Truck)
『We first found this video (now DVD) when my now 12-year-old son was a toddler. My son fell completely in love with the series, and we are happily passing the tradition along to children of friends. Dave and Becky are very funny, and appeal to kids of all ages (including grownups). It's a series of DVDs that is not annoying for adults, and keeps kids mesmerized. Enjoy!』

(Real Wheels Truck Adventure)
『Great video for older kids but my 3 year old grandson looses interest
quick. This video is too mature for him. My mistake!』

(Not intended for adults)
『While Dave is pretty annoying to most adults, kids love these videos. Just like most adults don't like shows such as Barney, they aren't made for adults. My boys would watch all the Real Wheels videos over&over all day long if they could. I highly recommend them, especially for the price.』

(Woodstock - 3 days of Peace&Music)
『Perhaps we need this mind-set of Peace
in today's society (without the dope smoking).
There has to be a better solution to keep this
Country safe (other than WAR)!』

(Tickling My Inner Flower Child)
『Woodstock: 3 Days of Peace&Music was far from the straightforward Discovery Channel-type documentary that I imagined. There was none of the typical narrative, offsite interviews of resource persons, or anything post-event.

This film was made at the very heart of the festival, making the 3 or so hours of footage feel indeed like 3 days, as it spanned across all sub-plots of the event. There were closeup shots of the musical performances down to the foot-tapping, the literally dirty fingers tuning the guitars, and hands wildly beating on the bongo drums. There were casual interviews with the young organizers at work, the bewildered (some annoyed) locals, the toilet cleaner who took great pride in making the portalets "pleasanter" for the kids, and all kinds of hippies, some even offering the film crew smokage.

The film likewise captures the ironies - hundreds of thousands of stoned young people and not one violent incident, a financial disaster becoming a landmark event of the century, a film that nobody else wanted to do that saved a flailing film company, and a sense of unity in the backdrop of social unrest. And for these, it became so much more than the ultimate concert film. The rawness of it all combined with excellent editing gave the audience the surreal experience of what it would have been like to participate in those 3 days of peace, love and rock and roll. And it makes you wonder, as I did - had I lived in America in the late 60s, would I have gone to Woodstock?』

(MUSIC, PEACE AND... MUD)
『I'm a nostalgic semi-old rocker who would have love to be there during that era. So that movie is kind of a must for me, since I have a quite extensive collection of rock concert videos. Like everyone, I saw that movie in somekind of form, on TV or during nostalgia trips at Much Music (Canada's MTV). This version of Woodstock -the movie differs from the one we all saw in a few ways: First, and I quite can't explaine why, It does not follow the chronological order of the festival. Exemple: Richie Haven's performance, which opened the festival, is in the middle of the second DVD. Same for Country Joe McDonald... Also, it is hard to know exactly what happened. Did it rain once? Twice? But, apart from those historical questions, there is also a few benefits: The audio is far better than the cheesy and thin sound that we all remember from the original movie. Everything sound clear and true, with some kind of treatment that give almost the impression of "being there"...some kind of reverb and stereo spatialization. Ther is also bonus performance; 2 form Jefferson's Airplane, one from Country Joe McDonald and the Fish, and one from Jimi Hendrix that include a great unaccompanied guitar jam...
Anather point: I'm not crazy about the double-faced DVD. Mine arrived loose in its box, and was quite scratched. Still works though. Last: One can't watch those scenes about hippies and the "peance and love" generation and it's confrontation with the "straight" word without a smile and somekind of amazement...

Pierre

(What a time)
『I have enjoyed watching this movie several times I had just missed going to the festival so this is almost as good. Just not as much mud or excitement I think I would have been very tired after three days of peace and music not to mention all the dope you could have taken. But I enjoyed the movie and anyone that likes the sixty's would enjoy it and some of the young people might learn some stuff.』

(To young to know what it was about)
『I am only 26 years old and i don't know what it was but woodstock caught my interest. I know that i would never expierence something like that so i thought if i watch this movie i might get a better idea how it was back then. I really enjoyed this movie and for the 4 hours of the movie i felt like i was there(with my surround sound). I did get a great feel what it was all about.』
『The three-day Woodstock music festival in 1969 was the pivotal event of the 1960s peace movement, and this landmark concert film is the definitive record of that milestone of rock&roll history. It's more than a chronicle of the hippie movement, however; this is a film of genuine historical and social importance, capturing the spirit of America in transition, when the Vietnam War was at its peak and antiwar protest was fully expressed through the liberating music of the time. With a brilliant crew at his disposal (including a young editor named Martin Scorsese), director Michael Wadleigh worked with over 300 hours of footage to create his original 225-minute director's cut, which was cut by 40 minutes for the film's release in 1970. Eight previously edited segments were restored in 1994, and the original director's cut of Woodstock is now the version most commonly available on videotape and DVD.

The film deservedly won the Academy Award for Best Documentary, and it's still a stunning achievement. Abundant footage taken among the massive crowd ("half a million strong") expresses the human heart of the event, from skinny-dipping hippies to accidental overdoses, to unpredictable weather, midconcert childbirth, and the thoughtful (or just plain rambling) reflections of the festive participants. Then, of course, there is the music--a nonstop parade of rock&roll from the greatest performers of the period, including Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Canned Heat, The Who, Richie Havens, Joan Baez, Ten Years After, Sly&The Family Stone, Santana, and many more. Watching this ambitious film, as the saying goes, is the next best thing to being there--it's a time-travel journey to that once-in-a-lifetime event.--Jeff Shannon

(one of the more educational episodes)
『I acknowledge the flaw pointed out by another reviewer that going around with a magnifying glass looking at things does not exactly constitute an experiment, but it's easy to forgive that since there are so many other good things in this video. This is my personal favorite, and my three and a half son loves it too. As a result, we've had to reenact the cyclone experiment and traipse around with a magnifying glass. The planets song is the highlight of the whole tape: a fun, catchy way to remember them all.』

(Teaches the wrong lessons)
『Please see my review of "Blue's Big Pajama Party" for my rationale in reviewing these Blue's Clues tapes. Briefly, I'm reviewing only those tapes that seem to me to present some problem, and my lowest rating of any of them will be 3 stars. It's an otherwise excellent series.

I understand well that the material that's presented here needs to be given at a preschooler's level. There's bound to be a great deal of simplification, or even over-simplification. But it should be *correct* as far as it goes. Scientific illiteracy is a growing problem in our increasingly technological society, and it would be best to start things off on the right foot, so to speak, in a child's science education. Unfortunately, neither of the episodes in this tape satisfactorily conveys the lessons they're intended to because the information they give is either misleading or flat-out wrong.

In the first episode, we're looking for clues about what "science experiment" Blue wants to perform today. Some of the experiments we see in the beginning are excellent examples. They run along the lines of, "What happens if...?" "Let's find out!" This is actually the essence of a good science experiment. But the "science experiment" Blue is pointing to with the clues -- and therefore the one thing about the episode preschoolers are most likely to remember -- isn't an experiment at all. It's just a demonstration of an interesting phenomenon. It's also something that's just as readily observable in the bathtub, although that isn't pointed out. No question is asked, and no answer is found. That's not an experiment.

Not even the otherwise helpful "Planet Song" is without problems. Blue and Steve "skiddoo" into a picture on the wall for this segment. Steve's attention is first drawn to the picture when a fireball, sporting a firey tail, swooshes past the inside of the frame. "A meteor!" says Steve. "In space!" WRONG. Meteors of that appearance are strictly *atmospheric* phenomena; they are NEVER encountered in space. And they make no sound, not even in the atmosphere. (For some obervers, there's an impression of sound associated with some meteors, but this is actually caused by electromagnetic interference that they're probably picking up on their fillings.)

The second episode is little better. It's ostensibly about recycling. "Recycle, recycle, recycle!" is chanted repeatedly, like a mantra. It seems the viewer is expected to take this as an article of religious faith, since it's never explained why recycling is a good idea, other than Steve's dislike of wasting packaging materials. They needn't have delved into complex environmental issues; a simple "So we don't run out!" or "Where will we put so much garbage?" would have been enough. (An old Sesame Street episode from my youth had a segment showing what happened at a garbage dump. It was fascinating, and would not have been out of place here.) But just as the "science experiment" turned out not to be one, the closest we get to actual recycling here is when Steve chucks some recyclables into the appropriate bin. Everything else is actually *reuse*. A child is likely to get an entirely wrong impression of what recycled goods are like. This is especially true of the "Recycle Town" to which Blue and Steve "skiddoo", as well as the recycled thing Blue clues she wants to make (a guitar from a paper towel tube, empty tissue box, and rubber bands.) How about a complicated looking machine that takes in waste paper at one end and spits out clean, new paper at the other? That sounds silly, but it actually would have provided a truer picture both of the recycling process and of recycled products.

Children will no doubt enjoy this tape. I know mine do. But it would be nice if they were being given lessons that weren't so misleading at the same time.』

(The Best Blues Clues Tape)
『The Planet Song puts this song over the top. It's catchy and kids will learn all the planets in order.』

(Great video)
『My 2 year old got this for his birthday in March. We watch it ALL of the time. He sings all of the songs and does the little hand motions that Steve does when singing. He knows all of the planets in the solar system and when he sees something that resembles saturn (any ball with what looks like rings), he yells to anyone around - 'SATURN HAS ICY RINGS'. No my younger son, 15 months, dances and runs into the room when he hears Steve.』

(This one's a Hot Star!)
『This was my FIRST favorite Blue's Clues episode! Now there are too many favorites to name of course. Even at age 2 my son was singing along to the planets. I would start with"the sun's a..."and he would finish"...hot star!". We would do this through all the planets, and finish together. Now that he's 4 we reverse it, and when I finish with the wrong description (Earth is...really small), he tells me I'm silly and sings it correctly. Now my youngest is 2, and he's learning and singing along with his brother. I also enjoy the recycled episode, and it did teach my son that there are some things we don't throw in the garbage, but it seemed preachy at times. I can't think of one Blue's Clues video we DON'T like (we have about 8 pre-recorded tapes and about 40 episodes recorded from TV).』
Blue's Cluesfeatures Steve and his friend, the sweet, long-eared, curious dog Blue. Each segment explores problem-solving, something that the show's young audience will deal with, in various levels, on a daily basis.Blue's Cluesslowly offers up three clues to uncover what's missing, what Blue wants, and other examples that are easy for preschoolers to relate to.Blue's Discoveriescontains two science-oriented stories that feature an experiment Blue wants to try and what Blue would like to do with recycled items. These experiments can easily be replicated at home by kids and parents.--N.F. Mendoza

(Plain is Right...)
『First off, let me clarify in my personal response that I've never been a fan of the historical fiction genre. Historical fiction books bore me, and they never seem to contain the excitement found in contemporary fiction. Sarah, Plain and Tall, while more character-centric than most historical fiction books, still just didn't catch my interest. I was just glad that unlike many historical fiction books, this one actually didn't shove random historical facts down the readers' throats in massive clumps--the historical details were there, but very subtle. Still, the plot was too plain, with not enough branches and wacky plot twists. Everything was hopelessly predictable, and I know children's authors can do much better than that. That being said, I'd still like to read the sequels (never can pass up a good sequel!) to learn more about the characters, especially since the books are such quick reads.』

(awesome)
『This is a great book that leaves you with a good feeling when you finish. A warm story of motherless children who wish to have a mother and want to help their father to find one. She is from the coast and he is a farmer... could this work? Read the book I recommend it.

The Elf and The Princess: The Silent Warrior Trilogy - Book One (The Silent Warrior Trilogy)』

(8 year old kids's review of Sarah, Plain and Tall)
『The story of Sarah, Plain and Tall by Patricia MacLaclan is a pioneer fiction about a family who needs a mother and a wife, and a lady who needs a home. It is sad, funny, happy, scary, exciting, and keeps me guessing.
Jacob Witting needs a helpful, hardworking wife and a mother for his young children Anna and Caleb. He puts an ad for a wife in the newspaper. He receives a response from Sarah Elisabeth Wheaton of Maine. In the early spring, Jacob goes to the train station to bring Sarah home. He dresses up and makes his hair very slick and shiny.
Sarah Wheaton makes herself at home with the Wittings. She helps clean the house. She goes and picks wild flowers with Caleb. They gather paintbrush, clover, prairie violets, roses, and bride's bonnet. She cuts Caleb's and Jacob's hair, then she braids Anna's long hair. She teaches Caleb and Anna how to float in the cow pond and they have fun. At night, all of them go to the barn to slide down the tall hay pile, just like the dunes in Maine.
Caleb and Anna love Sarah and hope she will stay. Caleb is six and really loves Sarah. Caleb cried when Sarah comes back from driving the wagon because he thinks she was leaving them. Anna is ten and helps with most of the housework. She is also worried that Sarah will leave.
Sarah misses Maine but she is happy with the Wittings. She says she will always miss her old home but she will miss the Wittings more if she leaves. She talks about wanting to drive the wagon. The neighbors come to help with the plowing and meet Sarah. Later Sarah and Jacob get married.
The book Sarah, Plain and Tall makes me joyful when Jacob finds a wife to marry. I like when Sarah, Caleb, Anna, and Jacob slide down the hay pile. Do you like fictional story about family life during the Pioneer times? If so, you will like this book.

『This was one of the selected literature books for our home-school curriculum. We were delighted with this lovely book. It inspired us to watch the movie and order the rest of the books in the series. Very interesting story line.

(Not for fourth graders...)
『I read this in fourth grade and I don't think I was mature enough to read it. As soon as I found out that Sarah was not beautiful for some reason or another I thought that she was not worth paying attention to, so therefore I got zilch from this book. It wasn't even that I was an immature fourth grader, I was already reading adult books that were 400 pages long. So I just thought I'd put my two cents in...』
『The most-watched made-for-television movie of the 1990s (50 million viewers upon first broadcast in 1991), this fine adaptation of Patricia MacLachlan's novel stars Glenn Close as Sarah, a Maine schoolteacher who responds to a Kansas farmer's newspaper ad seeking a bride. Set in 1910, the story follows Sarah's trial run as stepmother to the children of the widowed Jacob Witting (Christopher Walken). The tough part of the experiment is the conflicting expectations the would-be couple have over Sarah's role in the household. The kids, too, have their doubts about a substitute for their mother, and Jacob isn't ready, emotionally, for a new beginning. But in short order the strong-willed Sarah brings happiness and vitality into the house, and love and understanding eventually blossom between the two lonely adults. Everything is right about this Hallmark production, from a bright script cowritten by MacLachlan to Glenn Jordan's sensitive direction and a pair of first-rate leads making every moment worth watching. A wholesome tale from the heartland, this is a good movie for any viewing situation, from an audience of one to an entire family.--Tom Keogh

(Best production of The Nutcracker)
『This is really the best production of this ballet that I've ever seen! The costumes, staging and ballet are first rate. Macaulay Culkin is adorable as the Nutcracker Prince. It's also nice that the characters Marie and the Prince are performed by children.People with kids who like coloring pictures will be pleased to find a coloring book that is based on this production. (Shoe Paint not Dye)
『Very unhappy with this product. The vendor sent quickly, no problam with that. It is a paint not a dye. I followed the directions exacly and every time I where them any little scratch shows the old color. You have to touch up every time. I have had other shoes dyed at shops and did not have this problem. I would never order this product again.』

(Works perfectly)
『Stuff works great. Dyed a pair of shoes per directions, and they came out looking great. Added a coat of polish and no way could you tell they hadn't always been black. Cleans up with water and no nasty chemical odors.』
『Pretty soon with this economy all we will have left are our shoes. Make yours like new for less than $10.00! At least our shoes will look good while we look for new jobs and a house! This popular Tarrago Dye Kit dyes (it is a dye, NOT a paint) and restores leather. Does not crack or chip. Even repels water when dry. Fast drying color that can be rubbed with a dry cloth. Wait for 24 to 48 hours before using a damp cloth. Full instructions included.』
