The Dutch oven heats very evenly; is usuable on the stove top as well as the oven; cleans up lickety-split and is pretty to boot.
I own Le Creuset which is wonderful. However, Lodge is significantly cheaper and, in my view, just as good as the more expensive cast iron.
By the way, when the shipment arrived the lid and pan were separated by little black bumpers which I kept so that the lid and pan would continue to be protected in storage. Just remember to remove the bumpers when the Dutch oven is in use.』

(great little sucker) 『I have a dog, a cat, and 2 birds and a lot of little messes. I hate getting the big vac out every day or 2 to tidy up. I went looking for a hand vac and found this one. I haven't had one for a while and the last one was next to useless. I charged this one, attached the brush and went to work. vvrooomm! I was impressed with the way it cleaned up pet hair, and bird seed. It didn't blow stuff everywhere like my last vac. It's not too heavy and the handle is comfortable and it feels well-balanced. It ran out pretty quickly, but the instructions said it would take 2 or 3 full charges to get up the long life it promised. The second charge lasted longer and the third was bit better. Still not a long time, but I can get done if I hurry. I like the little crevice nozzle, but I knew I would lose it so I attached it to the side of the vac with velcro. That works great! Just be sure and don't attach it over the air vents. The filter looks like it will last a while. I don't know how much replacements are. It says it will last 6 months. The attachments are easy to put on and take off. Of course, like all bagless vacs, you have to dump the stuff (messy), and clean the filter. It needs to be rinsed and let dry before reinstalling it. 4 stars because it doesn't seem to last as long as I think it should. Maybe it will with a little more time if so, I'll give it a 5.』

Vacuuming has always been a long involved chore. I have purchased numerous vacuums and gadgets over the years,that promised to make this job easier, but have never been totally satisfied until now. The Shark SV736 is the perfect cleaning companion. It's great for a first pick-up and for quick in-between jobs. I finally don't have to haul out the upright vac and fiddle with wires all the time. The detachable motorized brush works great on my couch and dining room chairs. I even use it for spot cleaning my area rugs, and wood floors. It's a little heavy for a hand held, but worth every extra ounce for the power it offers. I followed the directions to the tee for how to charge it for the first time. This is important to get the optimal power and optimal length of time it holds the charge. I've been able to use it for every thing I choose for a first pick-up and still have charge for up to two additional uses before it starts to run down. I wished it had come with a storage/charging holder, but I was able to order one from the Shark company--very inexpensively. I'm one happy camper!!!』

(My little girl loves it) 『Believe it or not, I actually watched this, 3-D glasses on, together with my 5 yr. old little girl on a lazy summer afternoon. There's, of course, a lot of music and, every now and then, we get to see what's going on backstage. We meet Miley's dad - a nice guy, her trainers, watch a bit of the rehearsal. Miley's even telling us the meaning of one of her songs, dedicated to her late grandfather.
The overall impression is of a well-balanced, loved by her daddy good girl who is not likely to turn bad or weird, the way some other teen idols did as they aged.
As for the 3-D experience, it's the old red-blue technology. You don't need any special hardware other than the cardboard 3-D glasses but you lose a most of the colors, sacrificing colors for depth. On a hi-res TV it's a pretty good experience.
I see no reason to take out any stars so... here they come: my 5-stars.』

That said, I do think the beginning of the movie is a bit off. Mr. Brosnan sounds a bit monotone, but he seems to pick up the pace and after a while you get caught up in the story about the great discovery (finding the town of Waterton). They introduce a new engine named Stanley (so you can add that train to your growing collection) that my son has not stopped talking about since he saw the movie. Also, the Thomas Theme song at the end is updated and is pretty catchy. A good buy for any Thomas fan. 』

In fact, we use the DVR to tape new shows on a regular basis. Having the DVD is nice, but not a deal-breaker for us, because the shows are all the same shows we've seen repeatedly on Noggin. The only really good thing about the DVD is that we can take it on car trips (we break out the DVD player as a last-resort when said daughter is on the verge of a meltdown).
If you don't have the opportunity to watch Wubbzy on a regular basis, then it's a great DVD to have. Otherwise, there really is very little point to owning it. I'm hoping that we can get others soon that might have a few new episodes!』

IPhone 3G used's review (THE ENDING MADE NO SENSE) 『Overall well produced TV series and I watched intently with many emotions of passion, heartache, compassion, and joy for characters portrayed. The Stanwyk character was deplorable esp. with the line: on my mouth! YIKES!!! The aging process was well done for Cardinal Vittorio, Ralph, Grandma Fi, BUT Meggie looks more gorgeous every year, esp. the last scene, they tried to grey her hair, tho unevenly, during the same scene and nary a wrinkle....no biggie compared to her whisper yelling and flat dialogue, but very beautiful woman...Justine was prolly the worst cast in the series, waaay too wooden for a bohemian, maladjusted, wild child, head movements were even too stilted and not pretty enough to be Meggie's daughter...Dane portrayed the deepest expression of character as supported by the other family members and was very touching. I could not believe that his two good looking uncles stayed unmmarried, very strange...and the young Meghan had too mature dialogue for believability, with her bold questions and observations that nary an adult would deliver or even have elevated critical thinking skills during that era....apologies for my stream of consciousness review here but thankfully not a PhD thesis...also, never understood the reasons for not telling Ralph about Dane 'cept for the heart wrenching reveal at the end which IMHO was theee best scene in the series...great crying jag Richard!!! I cried too....anyhow, my biggest dissapointment was the ending with Ralph decrying that "WE always go for it" (?) i.e. the thorn bird's sole joy of life or something to that effect when I felt that is the last thing either of them did....Ralph especially, he fought that "song" to his death, and loved the inital description of the Thorn Bird myth but never saw the parallel in the series....nice try but would have liked him to reject the church and had his final days with Meggie and fade out TRYING to be that Thorn Bird but failing....well, I know Aussies and back then they must have treated their women worse than they do now....Bryan Brown was delightful but character development flawed with the devotion and conviction of needing a woman and love to... how can I impress the wankers cutting cane???...they just didn't flesh out a believable character, And what is up with the D. H. Lawrence and Henry Miller references? Lady Chatterly's Lover is so out of place for a cripple, 50's mentality, Australlia, and farmer IQ types...did Colleen try to impress the audience with her breadth of literary repertoire? so to wrap up....I watched every episode, sometimes twice, and worked my schedule around this series as I had not seen it since 1983 after reading the book...I rarely do this and my friends razzed me about it but I was hoping for a recapture of my life 25 years ago, but what I found is a deeper understanding of loss, patiently waiting for love, and how to overcome adversity, kudos for the enjoyment but had to comment on my issues with the production. And oh yeah, Dr. Kildare was still a major hottie!!!』

(In Defense of Rachel Ward) 『Although most agree that this was a gripping storyline and a classic miniseries, there were some people that criticized Rachel Ward. I would like to point out the following:
1) She was extraordinarily beautiful, hard to look away from when she was on-screen. It was plausible that a priest or any other man would be drawn to her. I can't imagine a better-cast Meggie than Rachel Ward.
2) Ward did a remarkable job of portraying convincing love scenes with a gay actor (Richard Chamberlain). I do not know if the cast was aware of his proclivity. If nothing else, Ward's gaydar may have signaled her to the truth of Chamberlain's orientation. Both actors deserve credit for pulling this off.
3) The reality on the set was that Ward had found her "masculine counterpart" in Bryan Brown. They would marry, raise a family, and see one of their daughters act on screen. Kudos to Ward for convincing the camera (and everyone else) that Richard Chamberlain was the love of her life.
4) Unforgettable goodbye scene #1: Meggie parting ways with Ralph on Matlock Island. I admit I was rather young when I first saw this, but I felt terribly torn and grieved watching this scene. The only comparably wrenching scene that comes to mind is Debra Winger saying goodbye to her kids in Terms of Endearment.
5) Unforgettable goodbye scene #2: the riveting portrayal of Meggie telling Luke their marriage was over. She was a commanding presence, lancing Luke's ego with surgical precision. Don't feel badly for him. He had it coming.
6) Ward was a former model with limited acting experience at this point in her career. That she could pull off items 2 - 5 so beautifully was remarkable. Item number one just added icing to the cake.
Thank you Rachel Ward for a once in a lifetime portrayal. All the better that you met your true man (Bryan Brown) on the set.』

Adapted from the bestselling novel by Colleen McCullough, the production stars Richard Chamberlain as a Catholic priest named Ralph de Bricassart, whose life in Australia between 1920 and 1962 is one long torment as he pines for his lover, Meggie Carson (Rachel Ward), while seeking advancement in his clergyman career. The passion and the guilt make for compelling drama, but a stellar cast of supporting players adds muscle to the proceedings: Barbara Stanwyck (who won an Emmy for her work as Meggie's tough grandmother), Jean Simmons, Richard Kiley, Christopher Plummer, Bryan Brown, and Mare Winningham. Chamberlain, who was something of the king of the miniseries form at the time, is very good in the lead, as is the often-underrated Ward. (A Timeless Classic) 『Who does not love Dorothy Gale, her adorable dog, Toto, and her lovable and musical friends, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion? Were we not all dazzled by the extraordinary color change from black, white, and sepia, to a brilliant display of the new technology of Technicolor, altering the entire mood of the film? The Wizard of Oz is beloved by many, and remembered by all. Personally, I grew up watching and adoring this movie and singing all of the unforgettable, catchy tunes. I have even dressed up as Dorothy for Halloween. This is a timeless classic, portraying a story of perseverance, friendship, and self sufficiency among other things. The tale of the four friends' journey and triumph over the wicked witch to get what they needed; be it home, a brain, courage, or a heart has been inspiring people since 1939. To me, the movie seems to personify the triumph of good over evil, as well as perseverance. As the story starts out, Dorothy simply wants to keep her dog, and be independent. However, she ends up finding herself in a great deal of trouble, seemingly far from home, and feeling extremely dependent. This shows just how childlike, and human her character is, and how she has "the grass is always greener on the other side" type of attitude. However, she and her four-legged companion, Toto are obviously quite easy to get along with, as she makes friends almost everywhere she goes. Each of these new friends, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion all want something both relatively simple, yet incredibly complex. They want only small things, though those very things mean a great deal to each of them. Only a truly loving, intelligent, or courageous person would wish for a heart, a brain, or courage. Others would wish for more material things, and I think this shows what truly good people each of the characters were. Dorothy only wants to get back home to Kansas, her family, and her familiar life. The Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Lion, want a brain, a heart, and courage, respectively. Throughout the movie, they travel many miles, and overcome many obstacles just to see the wizard. Narrowly escaping evil trees, a flame throwing witch, and sleep-inducing poppies, they finally arrive in Oz to meet the infamous Wizard. Only the magical, ruby red slippers of the deceased wicked witch of the east identify Dorothy as being legitimate in the eyes of the citizens of Oz. After having the wizard reject her first request, she is sent on another mission. During this process, Dorothy is captured, and nearly killed by the still living witch, as her friends cunningly plan her successful escape. In one fell swoop, Dorothy takes down the witch dynasty for good, melting the Wicked Witch of the West with a bucket of water, allowing Dorothy to take her broom back to the wizard. These loyal friends went to great lengths to save and help her, and each other, showing one of the great themes of the movie. The witch's broom satisfies the wizard, though his returned gift of 'magic' is slightly less impressive than had been expected, necessitating a new form of magic. Self sufficiency and self actualization are major themes of the film, and are rather evident, especially in the end. As a conclusion, Dorothy and her companions find they could have gotten along without the wizard's help all along. All they really needed was confidence, and to appreciate what they already had and took for granted, which they discovered without any real assistance from the wizard, besides perhaps a few encouraging words. Each person eventually found their respective desires within themselves, as they could have all along, though the true test was to dig deep to find each of them. Good triumphing over evil is a prominent theme of the movie, as well as the innocence of childhood, and friendship. The four friends unconditionally love and protect one another, and go to great lengths to do so. Dorothy's obvious innocence kept her from always seeing things as they were. She did not expect anyone could be so wicked, as the witch and many others were. Also, the story, that we eventually learn Dorothy dreamed up, is somewhat obviously just that; a child's dream.
