IPhone 3G used's review (Decent product but overpriced) 『I ordered a 37" Japanese Design Double Stacked Emperor's Tansu Cabinet 2 weeks ago and it was scheduled to be delivered between 3/19/2008 - 3/24/2008. I didn't want to miss the delivery, so I took a few days off. After waiting until 6pm on 3/24/08 and still no delivery, I called Oriental Furniture. The representative told me there is only 1 person in charge of orders from Amazon and that person would not be in until morning, so she couldn't provide me with additional information. I called again on the morning of 3/25/08. I was given a tracking number and was told that FedEx Freight will be calling me to schedule the delivery.
Now why can't they just email me a delivery confirmation or put the tracking information online like all other vendors, so I don't have to waste my time for no reason? FedEx was supposed to arrive between 3-5pm but did not show up until 6:35pm. Anyway, the cabinet was finally delivered on 3/26/2008.
The top stackable section was in perfect condition but 2 of the drawers in the bottom section were stuck due to the underside corner pieces falling off during shipping. The drawer corners were scratched as a result. A couple iron pieces also came off, which I popped back in. Nothing unfixable. The iron design was not as fancy nor is it as sturdy as I thought; I have much nicer Tansu from local import vendors. The measurement is accurate, thus fit perfectly in the corner I want to put it. I am keeping this cabinet but next time, I will buy from a local store, where I can touch and see the quality in person.
For this kind of quality, I agree with the 3/17/08 customer review, this cabinet should sell for $300 less. 』
(Almost a fine piece of furniture.) 『We collect Tansu, since 25 years, and I grew up with them too. We love Tansu and decided to get these as nightstands. We received them (this cabinet is actually two identically sized sections that stack) quickly, and unwrapped them to find that the description IS NOT ACCURATE! THIS IS NOT MADE OF SOLID ELM WOOD, IT HAS SEVERAL PANELS THAT APPEAR TO BE MADE OF CHIP BOARD. Now... I am a fine woodworker too, so I know my stuff. It has many solid panels, and the surfaces all look very nice, but please. Chip board in a chest for a grand? We kept them because we liked them, but a law suit cannot be far in this company's future. I had to repair some minor structural issues like underside corner pieces that fell off in shipping and a small crunch in the edge of the back panel. Nothing big, and not enough to return, but they still needed attention. We use them as bedside tables and they are good for that. Very nice finish quality overall, solid drawers (they needed some paraffin) and the iron is just okay. There are some fishes and turtles in the medallion designs that are actually vague approximations of the idea of a blob with animal like shapes... sort-of. Not fine metalwork by anyone's standards. The metal thickness is good, the escucheon pins stout, and everything fits well, but man.... who decided the animals were "good enough???" They look good in the room, people seem to like them, and we do too, so altogether positive, but they should be $300 less for the quality. They are made in China after all, folks.』 『Fine handcrafted kiln dried Elm wood double stacked Tansu cabinet (traditionally, double stack design was for portability), beautiful hand rubbed finish, extraordinary wrought iron hardware, lots of space, a unique accent in any decor. A collection of hypnotic, mainly acoustic, instrumental ambient songs. A rare collection that is really good music, perfect for relaxation, massage therapy, yoga, acupuncture, chirorpactic - and all forms of stress relief. There's no music that's easier to get lost in or drift away on than these extended acoustic excursions. From the first song, you'll be transported to places that will leave your hectic world behind. TREEFROG begins the album by placing you in a rain forest. The song unfolds very slowly to ease you into a state of total relaxation. KITE picks things up slightly and is evocative of a kite dancing on the wind. ELEVEN ELEVEN is an 18 minute meditative tone poem that builds in density over the length of the song. STEVE'S WEB, a 16 second song, transitions you from the depth of Eleven Eleven to the somewhat jaunty Dec. 31. It was written as an intro to the web site of a friend who builds guitars, Steve Andersen. DEC 31 keeps the pace up a little with a percussive stroll through an arid climate. 4 AM is named for the very quiet time it was written. With a slightly different arrangement, this song also appears on Margaret Explosion's Skyhigh.』

Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (Beautiful mantras, very well done) 『I thought I would share the meaning and transliteration of these mantras, in case you want to sing along. I am very exited this CD is available.
Mantras are basically tools for going within that ancient yogis heard in meditation. These "words of power" as Nisargadatta Maharaj said, are universal mantras that go beyond a particular tradition and have the power to calm the mind and bring the listener into a state of deep peace, contentment and the ultimate realization of The Divine. The realization of a continuous state of presence.
The Gayatri Mantra is:
Om Bhurbhuva Swaha Tat Savitur Varenyam Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi Dhi Yo Yo Nah Prachodayat
Gayatri mantra is considered one of the oldest and most powerful mantras. Goddess Gayatri represents the mother of the Vedas and is the Goddess of Light.
In a more esoteric sense, Gayatri represents the light that permeated the whole Universe which is also the light of The Divine in every human being.
The rough meaning of The Gayatri mantra is:
May we contemplate the Divine Light which permeates the Three Worlds. May this light fill us with understanding, protection and love. May this Divine Light illumine our minds.
THE SEEDN MANTRA OF THE GODDESS
Aim Hrim Kliim Chamundayai Vicche
I was particularly exited to find the chanting of this mantra since it is very hear to hear it sung. This is a Bij or seed mantra, one of the most potent sound mantras that invoke a particular aspect of The Divine.
The deities in the ancient Yogic tradition represent different powers of The One, the pure awareness of being. The feminine divine, represents the energy of action that emanates from consciousness.
Aim Hrim Klim are the most important mantras for Goddesss Saraswati, Lakshmi and Kali respectively. They represent the power within and without, of creation, wisdom and abundance.
Kali is the destroyer of anything that gets in the way of experiencing The Divine. Kali also represents peace of mind.
Chamundayai is another name of The Goddess and Viche is a prayer to liberate oneself form fear.
The specific meaning of the Sanskrit is below:
Om - The Infinite Beyond Conception Aim - Creation, Raja Guna, Energy of Desire, Maha Sarasvati Hrim - Preservation, Sattva Guna, Energy of Action, Maha Lakshmi Klim - Destruction, Tama Guna, Energy of Wisdom, Maha Kali Chamunda - The Slayer of Passion and Anger, Moves in The Head Yai - The Grantor of Boons Vic - In The body of Knowledge, in the perception Ce - Of Consciousness
Please forgive me if I missed some info, I am not a scholar and Sanskrit has many meanings and interpretations. I just love chanting and the power of chanting to clear the mind and bless the atmosphere. These mantras have the power to bring the listener great peace, abundance, protection and above all peace of mind. Enjoy! 』 『This release from Music for Deep Meditation includes the chanting of very special mantras invoking the Goddess, a symbol of the creative power of the universe
The chanting is designed to invoke the qualities of abundance, protection, peace and happiness within and without.
Three tracks consist of the repetition of the Gayatri Mantra, one of the most sacred mantras from the Indian tradition. The other three consist of the Bij or "seed" mantras to the Goddess. The Bij mantras are considered some of the most potent and effective sounds that invoke a particular aspect of divinity.
Each Music for Deep Meditation CD is made with the utmost care and integrity of sound, designed to induce meditation and deep rest. We invite you to explore each one.

IPhone 3G used's review (Great Intro to Yoga!) 『This may be one of the nicest Christmas presents we ever received! When our three year old received this along with a yoga mat, I admit, I was a bit taken aback. Then we started watching it. What great fun and a great way to get mom and dad moving too. I never thought at 47 I'd find myself sitting on the floor singing "Peace, Love, Togetherness" again, but I am. Our 20 month old joins into the fun as well. Catchy music, fun explanations of poses, and calming time make this video a must have.』
(The music is great in this dvd) 『I find myself humming the tunes in Banana Yoga throughout the day and it's the top favorite dvd in the house. When the kids get antsy&it's not practical or possible to play the dvd, they will play Banana Yoga by singing the songs&using their imaginations.
Shana Banana could easily be among the ranks of Mr. Rogers, Captain Kangaroo&Shari Lewis. Her positive spirit&demeanor is much needed in today's world.』
(Shana Banana Yoga) 『I ordered this for my kindergarten classroom, we were so disappointed. It was hokey and did not keep the children's attention. We had just finished Yoga Fitness (which they loved)! They said "Please lets go back to the the old one". I would NOT recommend this Video.』
(Banana Yoga is wonderful!) 『Banana Yoga is wonderful! I was looking for a quality children's yoga tape and this is the BEST one by far. I agree with the other review, it is a DVD that should be in every kid's video collection.』

IPhone 3G used's review (Blah) 『I am a fan of Rodney Yee's AM Yoga for Beginners and thought that this would be just as well-turned out as that one. I also thought it would be a fun video to do yoga with my 3 year old to. How wrong I was.
The program showcases the Yee Family - Rodney, Donna Fone, and their 3 children. After a very brief introduction, the family jumps right into the sun salutation poses and does no less than 5 different ones. Do we really need to do 5 different sun salutations? In a video that you do alongside kids? Talk about overkill. This was supposed to be fun! Then they go through a series of different poses, each one presented by a different member of the family with the occasional variation thrown in. My 3 year old lost interest after the 2nd sun salutation pose and left the room.
I'm not saying that this video has to appeal only to preschoolers, but it doesn't even appeal to me! While there seems to be some sort of progression to the routine, it's not very clear-cut and the video is almost too casual making the choice of poses seem more like an afterthought. While the credits are running at the end, there's a fun behind the scenes outtake featuring mostly Adesha, the middle child, and you can see that they at least ran through a tiny bit of the routine with the kids, but it doesn't seem like there was much preparation at all. There are a couple of fun poses, though - the one where your child or partner lies on your back as you do child's pose and another one where you lift up into a bridge pose of sorts (sorry, not that up on all the names of poses) and your child can crawl underyou. Also, Rodney and Donna show how you can help the kids out a bit with some of the poses, but they're too casual about it! I found this frustrating - I want a little more direction! I want structure! :D I was expecting this to be similar to his AM Yoga for Beginners video where Rodney talks you through the poses.
All in all, this was very disappointing. I think even if my expectations weren't so high, I'd still find this difficult to do with my child(ren) - the one I did it with was bored (she LOVES Yoga Kids)! Save your money!
REVISION (11/5/04) - A year later, a year wiser. My daughter and I have recently started doing this tape again and we are enjoying it much more this time around. While I still find parts of it redundant and it still looks hastily put together, the fact that my daughter says, "I can do it! I can do it! I want to do this everyday!" warrants it at least another star, but I guess I can't change my original rating! Still, recommended with reservations.』 『Yoga Journaland Gaiam favorite Rodney Yee brings his family along for this informal 38-minute session against the backdrop of a Maui beach. The practice begins with Yee, wife Donna Fone, and each of their three children leading impromptu sun salutations. The familiar tree, triangle, and side angle poses are mixed with challenging balancing poses like crane and headstands or fun family combinations with children balancing atop parents. This is as playful as you'll ever see Yee: he laughs while little Jo Jo crawls beneath the older ones' bridge poses and good-naturedly assists his youngsters, along with his wife. While advertised for children ages 3 and older, younger children and those with shorter attention spans will probably opt out after 15 minutes or so. Still, the remaining poses are challenging enough for adults to continue on their own, which may encourage offspring to last longer as their stamina increases.--Kimberly Heinrichs』

I did the live classes with my second child, used Helen's book for my third child (which I also highly recommend), and now am using this great DVD for my fourth! After all, one can only afford to pay for so many yoga classes :) (although they are definately worth it). I like the DVD, as I am visual, and I feel like I am back in the live class. (A Decent Advanced Yoga Routine) 『This is a decent- but not great- moderately advanced yoga routine. Unlike so many yoga DVDs, this isn't your basic sun salutation routine. Moreno incorporates interesting leg lifts, lunges, plank positions, and squats into the lower body segment that I were challenging and enjoyable. However, Moreno's instructional skills are horrible. She is constantly talking- constantly giving instructions that are complicated and hard to follow if you're not watching her (which you're not), such as "swan dive up and back and deep lunge with heart forward shoulders back eyes to knees," why doesn't she just say "forward lunge" or "forward bend" and then give form instructions while you're in that position? Also, the routine can get repetitive after 35 minutes- your muscles start to yearn for something new and challenging. Overall, I'm sore after I do this routine; that is, if I can make it through Moreno's convoluted instructions.』 『CARDIO BURN - YOGA (DVD MOVIE)』

Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (A workout with added imagination) 『Throughout this lovely, elementally-themed workout, Stephanie de Phillipo exhorts you to use your powers of visualisation. You'll imagine scooping up armfuls of earth energy or bathing in glowing fire energy. You'll glide your hands over a glass pond, wave in the wind like a tree or become a waterfall or a sparkling diamond. These visualisations combine with strong, expressive movements to give a powerful workout for mind and body. Unlike the previous reviewer I didn't find De Phillipo's attire at all offensive. I suppose when it comes to clothing people have different standards. I do agree though that vocally she can come across as a little over the top. She talks all the way through, her delivery is dramatic, and once or twice her voice gets a bit loud. But to me the benefits of the workout vastly outweighed the odd cringe that this caused. The movements of the earth section are rooted in horse stance and plies. The air section covers arms and balance (with frequent references to flying). The fire section has familiar aerobic moves and the water section is cooling and flowing with hints of qi gong and yoga. I always enjoy myself when I use this DVD. I break a light sweat and the time flies. At the finish I feel stretched, toned and uplifted. European readers may be interested to know that it plays fine in region 2. 』
(It's supposed to be a workout video, not a porn flick, put some clothes on) 『I am so sick of buying exercise videos and being confronted with scantily clad instructors. Cover yourself up for goodness sake - I don't care to look down your top when you bend over to demonstrate a pose!!! The voice of the woman leading the workout grated on my nerves and her manner seemed forced or insincere. I think the moves would have actually been nice had I been able to stand to watch or listen to it. I'd like to find a similar workout with a different instructor - preferably one who is appropriately dressed.』
(An unexpected gem of a toning workout!) 『I stumbled upon this toning workout video about 10 years ago and it's remained my favorite since that time. I was ecstatic when I found it on DVD a couple of years ago as I no longer had a VCR and missed doing the workout. It may not be as strenuous and calorie burning as other workouts, but it does tone your body and helps you focus. Whenever I do this workout it in the morning, I am more focused and my body is more energetic for the rest of the day. I was having problems with my feet from all the walking I do and doing this workout also helped alleviate that stress. I highly recommend it as a part of your workout regimen!』
(Who Knew?) 『Oddly enough, this $2 DVD is moderately useful. Don't think for a second you're getting a real workout. It's definitely all toning and stretching, if you couldn't tell from the title. But it is a unique way to work your muscles and a nice change from the usual motivational blondies. I'd recommend it to anyone.』
(What a deal - a tremendous workout for the price!) 『I tested this DVD out this morning, and I have to say, that it was GRRREAT! I loved the movements. They were easy to learn, but certainly beneficial. I have felt good since the morning. Incorporating breathing really helps, and when you can master the movements easily, all the better. The instructor's voice is soothing, but not too "ethereal". It is a wonderful head to toe workout and stretch, and it will certainly help your overall circulation. It is all done while standing - no mat exercises, so for those who grimace at getting out the mat and dropping to the floor, I recommend it highly. Check out your local Dollar Tree. IPhone 3G used's review (luxury and sustainability) 『I purchased this mat about 6 months ago. I practice on it at least once a week. I have not had the 'wearing out' trouble that some others mentioned. Instead, when I roll it out it truly becomes my magic carpet. The thickness is so wonderful on your knees and other joints. I agree there is a natural rubber smell. This abates over time to a degree, and of course if you leave it wound up tightly it will preserve the smell longer. I also agree that the main problem with this mat is that it has a major static attraction to dust, hair, etc. that is on the floor. It hasn't been a major problem but it is something I notice with this mat more so than other mats.』
(So far so good!) 『I've used it a handful of times and it is just the right thickness and isn't slippery at all :) I don't notice the rubber smell and love that it's a little more earth-friendly than other options.』
(Worth the extra money) 『These mats are much more "sticky" than the average mat even when I am sweating from a hot practice. They are also thicker and can be purchased in a longer version (good for tall people and angle or lunge poses). Some people are bothered by the rubber smell - I hung mine over a rod for a week and it seems fine. The sustainability was important to me too - a natural product helps me feel more connected to the world than a petroleum product. I recommend these to my students and to you too!』
(Wearing out after 4 practices, stinky, but non slip and feels good.) 『This mat is wearing out really fast in spots wear it gets consistent pressure/dragging. also, you really really have to wash your hands at least 3 times after using the mat, otherwise you will get a bitter rubber taste if you try to eat or cook anything. and the mat smells strongly of rubber (which doesn't bother me--its a natural smell--but might bother some). also it's a little heavy. having said that, i will add that this is the first mat i have used that does NOT slip even when sweaty! which is great. and it provides a much more solid and supportive cushioning than standard yoga mats, and generally feels good to practice on. hence the 4 stars.』 『The Harmony Mat is an excellent eco-friendly alternative to PVC-based mats! Its made from all-natural rubber and is a wise, environmentally-friendly choice. At 3/16 thick, this mat is thicker than standard mats and is easy on those knees and hipbones! The Harmony mat also has amazing traction due to its rubber make-up. Whereas most yoga mats can be slightly slippery at first, this mat is ultra slip-resistant the perfect solution for anyone with mat-slipping issues! Because it is made from natural rubber, the Harmony Mat may have a slight rubber scent in the beginning. This hasnt bothered any of our customers, but its good to be aware of this if youre considering ordering it. 3/16 x 24 x 68 (slightly thicker than a standard mat) Available in standard length (68") for $54.00 or extra-long (74") for $59.95. Available in Sedona red, Tibetan orange, black, midnight blue, orchid, and olive green.』
IPhone 3G used's review (What I always wanted in a yoga mat.) 『I'm in my early sixty's and have been doing yoga for most of my adult life. Teaching bring a lot of students with a wide variety of yoga mats. Over the years I've tried them all. I haven't bought myself a new mat in years because there was nothing out there that was anything special. I read a couple of very good reviews about the Jade mat. I went on line to find out more. I saw the price. I had to talk myself into buying the mat by saying that this is an investment in my passion. I had to let it air out for a couple of days to get rid of the rubber odor. I took it to class. The mat was great. I felt very secure and sure footed. I put my other mats away. I went to an all day Iyengar workshop. Everyone wanted to work with me on my mat or use it when I wasn't using it. Great mat. Well worth the extra cost. I hope I feel the same way after a year or two?』
(It stinks, literally and functionally) 『When you first get this mat, the eau de rubber is overpowering. Eventually, it does subside, but for me it never went away. Perhaps because the mat itself only lasted about three months. Indeed it was quite sticky, for a few practices. After about a month, the traction tapered off and it started to pill and crumble. A few months later, it was at the curb, er, I mean, recycling plant. Go with the Manduka. It's not great either, but WAY better than this.』
(Best yoga mat ever) 『Excellent ... just what I was hoping for. I already had one of these for myself that I purchased at my yoga studio about a year ago. I wanted to get the same one for my husband, and this is it. This mat does NOT slip no matter how long you use it, even when sweating profusely, and no matter how many times you wash it! LOVE IT!!! 』
(Best Mat I have tried so far.) 『This mat beats other yoga mats by far. I practice Yoga 3 times a week and I do sweat a lot. This mat gives you a firm foundation and although it is only 3/16 it has enough cushion for sore knees. I can say I do not slide at all on this mat. I have purchased cheap mats it the past and this is well worth the money. Also a bonus Jade Harmony plants a tree for each mat that is sold.』
(I love it) 『Although it is taking some time for the rubber smell to wear off--I love this yoga mat and would recommend it to anyone looking to replace their mat with an organic product.』 『The Harmony Natural Rubber Yoga Mat is made of is made of open cell, natural dry rubber sustain-ably harvested from well cared for rubber trees and does not include the latex component from the tree (minor amounts of latex can find its way into the rubber but usually is not enough to cause latex sensitivity reaction to those allergic.) The Harmony mat is very durable and has incredible traction, even when wet from perspiration traction is excellent offering unequaled non-slip performance. The mat has sturdy mesh in its interior which provides stability and tear resistance. Made in the USA, the Harmony natural rubber yoga mat will last longer than most mats while allowing you to perform your poses comfortably and better.
Natural rubber is a renewable resource tapped from rubber trees and contains no ozone depleting substances perfect for yoga practitioners concerned about the environment. The 3/16" thick Harmony rubber mat has as much cushion as a 1/4" PVC mat』
