(ralaxing and challenging-all in one)
『i really enjoyed this dvd. for me it is the perfect and (most important) completely safe workout for pregnancy!

it is suitable for all levels and i love that the moves can be made more challenging with slight modifications. it is a great way to keep fit/stretched and i love peaceful practice at the end of the workout, because i am so relaxed when it is over.』

(All Stages - All Levels)
『I really enjoyed this prenatal yoga video. The best part of it is that all of the poses and stretches are "safe" for any stage of your pregnancy and your level of your practice. Mimi introduces modified downward dog and other modified inversions, so even if you are not an advanced practitioner you can still perform them, avoiding vena cava syndrome. My favorite modification is the sun salutations towards the end of the "flow" section. The "strengthening" section takes you through more core poses to help you relieve stress, relieve tight backs, and reach a calm state-of-mind in a gentle and calming way. Another nice thing about Mimi's video is that throughout her practice she is narrating the class explaining the benefits of each pose. Very enjoyable and great to do with other members of you family even if they are not pregnant =)』

(enjoyed this one)
『This prenatal yoga video was enjoyable-they even had a cheesy thing at the end where there are pictures of babies floating out of the sky while twinkle twinkle little stars plays which my family enjoyed.

My favorite two sections were the flow section (basically floor and standing poses along with modified sun salutations) and the strengthening section. I liked that you could choose chapters and it wasn't almost 2 hours long like some of the other videos. It also didn't require any props.

This video isn't high on the difficulty rating but was enjoybale to do』

『..."What an absolutely wonderful baby prenatal yoga video. ...the surprise at the end was a bright spot" Mimi Solaire and two Yoga Mamas guide you through the practice. This gentle workout is safe, easy to follow and suitable for all trimesters. Total workout is 50min or choose from the following menu: warm up- breathing exercises, sitting poses to open joints: hips, spine, ankles and shoulders-14 min. flow- gentle moving for opening hips and spinal flexibililty- 14 min strengthening- standing poses to build strength and stamina improving balance and circulation- 9 min relaxation- stretching, restorative poses and guided breathing to reduce stress and fatigue-14 min Music by Lisa Loeb, Matt Myers. Dean Evenson, Scott Huckabay and Wayne jones』

(Ridiculous!)
『I got this as a joke for my girlfriend who is into yoga. The brief laugh was not worth the money and as for a yoga DVD it it is worthless.

Laugh to yourself and save the money. Not even worth it for guy's to "help themselves" as the women are old a nasty!』

(Erotic? Yes. Instructive? No.)
『Numerous other reviewers have pointed out that no serious student of either discipline, yoga or Tai Chi, will be adding new postures or moves to their practices as a result of watching this production; fine&true.

Four of the five women, all otherwise quite attractive&occasionally arousing, in the Tai Chi segment, are clearly surgically augmented; on the other hand, all three "yoginis" in the yoga chapter are naturally endowed,&fairly exciting to watch. There is one detail, however, relevant to both segments of this disc, which this reviewer often finds himself in the great minority of opinion on, but about which he doesn't seem to be able to stop commenting:

Unlike its sister DVD, "Totally Nude Aerobics"--highly recommended--there's essentially no eye contact here with the viewer. ("TNA" doesn't contain all that MUCH more eye contact, but enough to make a difference; it's just a tad more warm&fuzzy, as opposed to this cool&aloof mood.)

Add to this the overly-stylized gestures&postures in both sections of the disc under discussion,&it all adds up to my not really feeling connected with what's going on...much like seeing beautiful but impersonal, distant, erotic art.

I've felt this about other, similar shows: It left me feeling like I'd love to see a good Danni Ashe presentation, because she goes all-out to create the illusion of models really "being there."

The lighting was often not ideal (&sometimes downright poorly chosen);&, sadly, unlike its aerobic counterpart which was quite crisp in image, this DVD did not hold up well to pausing; 'twas unfortunately grainy.

Even with all the above exceptions, there are still many (sometimes intensely) erotic scenes, especially in the yoga section when all three beauties are together. (In the same frame, that is--not sexually.) These would be considered great Playboy moments for sure.

Gotta give 'em credit for offering two hours; that's more than most.

Worth a rent.』

(Hairy Bush)
『Anytime you have naked women and hairy bush showing in a video, it is great!! Alot of bending over showing the lips and shapely butts!!』

(reviewing nude yoga and tai chi)
『I liked what I saw in both the yoga and tai chi very pretty women』

(waste of time)
『Yes, the girls are naked but there is smoke and they are on a turntable that keeps moving around so it really isn't that much to see what with the plastic trees and things getting in the way of the view.
The lighting is poor. It is sort of yoga but not really. The tai chi is even worse. Partially nude women with swords dancing around. I didn't find it sexy or even slightly interesting. It's not even good enough to say it is boring. It is less than boring.』

(Excellent Service)
『This DVD was purchased as a gift for my son and I was mailing it off to him for Christmas. Delivery was prompt and I received DVD in excellent condition. Would not hesitate to purchase products again.』

(A good place to start)
『I enjoy this DVD and use it fairly frequently. However, the practices are very separate -- they don't flow easily together, so you can't really just do the whole video, one set after the other. Most people, I think, will find one or two practices useful, and ignore the rest.

The first section, "Mountain" is a gentle flow series of yoga postures. These are slow, easy, and should be within the range of most beginners. You are left in a cross-legged sitting posture, so that if you keep your remote close by, you can just shut off the video and go straight into meditation. This makes a nice morning practice.

The second section "Garden" is an unusual set of postures done in a chair. These help make the hips more flexible, so you can sit for longer periods of time in meditation. Rodney Yee also mentions that you can meditate while sitting in a chair. This series would be a perfect intro for those that choose this option. Also, once you learn these postures, it would be easy to do them at work, for a quick yoga break.

The third section, "Tree" is purely instructional, teaching four sitting postures that you can use in meditation. It's not meant as a daily yoga routine.

The fourth section, "Wind" is a breathing meditation -- such an important, and often neglected part of yoga. I use this section fairly often.

The final section "Sky" is a guided meditation. It starts in a standing position, which is a bit inconvenient if you'd like to do the last two practices together. ("Wind" leaves you lying on your back.) You do sit down to meditate, though. I use it on days when I need the instruction to get myself settled. As you progress, of course, you're going to want silence for meditation.

As others have noted, the scenery is pretty -- but I tend not to judge yoga tapes by that. After all, you are listening more than you are watching, when you do the practice. I like the music on this one better than others I've heard -- something a bit more important than what the video looks like, I'd think.

This is a useful video; it would have been even more so if "Mountain", "Wind" and "Sky" could blend together more easily to make a complete practice.』

(Helped reduce symptoms of stress)
『I'm a student, and have been really stressed out lately. I started to get an ulcer (I've had one before), experienced restless sleep, and was generally feeling frazzled. I'm a spiritual person, but was feeling spiritually deficit with not enough time in the day. I was desperate and I bought this DVD.
I only used it a few times, but the result was remarkable and immediate. I'm a hardcore skeptic about all this free-your-mind, natural-healing stuff, but I couldn't be after this. The effects would last me through the day. My posture was corrected. I didn't experience any heartburn. I felt oddly "centered" (now I get what that word means!), and things just sort of fell into perspective. I felt nurtured.
I highly recommend it if you're dealing with stress.』

(Meditation with lots of talking)
『I was looking for a product that would be a good introduction to yoga, and stress-relief/meditation are always a bonus. This is a good guide to meditation, except that he keeps talking. It would probably work well if you use the techniques to your own music or with the mute button. This product did not do a lot for me, physically. I am fairly active and was looking for a way to do some stretching and refreshing yoga. This is not the right DVD. Good if you want to meditate, but don't buy it if you are looking for physical rather than mental refreshment.』

(Perfect start to building a meditation yoga practice)
『In this video, master yoga instructor Rodney Yee guides the viewer through gentle yoga poses designed to allow you to focus your attention inward. The practice is divided into 5 segments:

1) Mountain. Rodney describes this as a "quiet flow series," and it contains about 12 minutes of simple stretches to warm up the body.
2) Garden. This 13-minute section focuses mainly on hip opening postures such as twists and forward bends performed while sitting on a chair.
3) Tree. In this section, Rodney spends 10 minutes reviewing 4 basic seating postures used for meditation: cobbler, hero, sage, and lotus. Each pose is practiced with and without a block for variation.
4) Wind. The purpose of this section is to concentrate on breath while in reclining postures; 10 minutes.
5) Sky. In this final 8-minute section, Rodney leads you through a seated meditation. His soothing voiceover instruction reminds you to turn your attention inward and to focus on your breathing.

Although I tend to concentrate on postures rather than meditation in my own yoga practice, I found this video to be enjoyable and restorative. I particularly liked the third section, as Rodney's breathing instruction helped me to really feel a tingling sense of deeper relaxation in my body. Rodney is an excellent instructor; his beautiful form while practicing is a perfect compliment to the gorgeous background scenery. This video would work well for anyone looking to add the benefits of meditation to their yoga practice without having to simply sit quietly in a lotus position.』

『"Meditation is a time-honored practice that reduces stress and revitalizes the body, mind, and spirit," explains Rodney Yee, instructor forYoga Journal's Yoga Practice for Meditation. "Meditation is awareness of posture, ease of breath, and attentiveness of the mind." In this beautiful video, Yee quietly and expertly leads you through five yoga practices that release bodily tension, improve posture, and open up breathing. The setting is grand and gorgeous Yosemite National Park, where Yee demonstrates poses in a meadow flanked by trees and cliffs, or at the edge of a lake or waterfall. The rewards of meditation are "living more calmly, more fully, with strength and grace," promises Yee. The practice is divided into five segments:Mountain, a series that moves from pose to pose, used for making the transition from daily activities to a sitting meditation (12 minutes);Garden, gentle movements done in a chair that open the hips and stretch the back (10 minutes);Tree, four sitting poses, using props to modify the poses to your personal flexibility level (10 minutes);Wind, with the focus on the movement of breath, releasing tension, and relaxing deeply (10 minutes);Sky, a meditation focusing on posture and breath, and "inviting the mind into the present moment, time and time again" (8 minutes).--Joan Price

Each Bug is doing a yoga pose for fun and creativity. Not boring or instructive, the designs are cute and fun and easily seen on either the lovely green or lavender child size sticky mat. (Absolutely the best yoga mat)
『This has to be the best yoga mat I've used. Worth the $$$. It has excellent traction. I can use it for hot yoga and don't find my hands slipping. Since the mat is thicker than most mats, it is heavier which means it does not move when you vinyasa/chataranga. While it does have more cushioning than most mats, it offers firm cushioning (not spongey or soft).
It's made in the USA and of a sustainable resource - rubber. The mat does have a rubber odor that wears off in a few weeks.

Minor complaint - I do find the mat gets a dusty look from hands/feet after use but, it washes away easily.

I recommend this mat to everyone who practices yoga. Namaste.

(Jade yoga mat=great!)
『This mat is amazing!! I needed a really thick mat because I've had knee surgeries (ACL tear) and this mat is perfect. The grip is also perfect and I no longer slide when doing down dog. It is pretty heavy (for a yoga mat) and because its so thick it can kinda unroll- I bought a sling so that it doesn't unroll and is easier to carry.
I highly recommend this mat!』

(Incredible mat that you will love!)
『From Michele Knudsen:

The grip and comfort this mat provides has helped me achieve more with each practice. Poses are easier and more enjoyable. It is a wonderful expierence.

Because of the thickness there is absolutely no discomfort on my knees or elbows. I love it! It is worth every penny. You will not be sorry.』

『The Harmony natural rubber yoga mat is the FINEST yoga mat made. Made in the USA of open cell, natural dry rubber naturally harvested from rubber trees, its material does not include the latex component from the tree sap (minor amounts of latex can find its way into the rubber but usually not detectible.) The Harmony mat has the BEST dry traction of any mat we have found, even when wet from perspiration traction is excellent offering unequaled non-slip performance. The mat has sturdy mesh in its interior which provides stability and tear resistance and is super durable for years of high performance. The Extra Thick ( 5/16" ) means extra comfortable the Harmony Fusion mat is simply the most comfortable yoga mat available anywhere at any price. Luxurious for floor work, the Fusion cushion is especially important for those with sensitive bones allowing deeper asanas undisturbed by pressure pain. The Harmony Yoga mat is easy to care for but be sure to keep it out of direct sunlight which can ruin the natural grippy surface. Feel good during your practice ...feel good about your ecological choice.』

『Great color, great quality, great cushion....not so great smell. So bad I haven't been able to use it since I bought it - still "airing" out that amine (fishy) odor. Stinks terribly even a couple of weeks out of the packaging. Hoping for warmer weather so I can hang it outside! Did not have this problem with my old, cheapy yoga mat.』

(Pleased!!)
『I bought this mat because I wanted one made of natural materials. I have not been disappointed. Many of my students like the look of it, and are impressed when they find out it is natural.

The only thing I have against the mat is that when I practice on our wooden floor at the studio, it builds up a really good static charge that gets me when I pick up the mat at the end of class!!! Otherwise, it is a grippy delight, and allows me to hold my postures as long as I want. I would highly recommend it for others.』

(Gaiam Oasis Yoga Mat)
『I thought I was getting a great yoga mat, but as soon as I started using it in yoga class, I went back to my original Gaiam yoga mat. The Oasis mat smelled horribly of rubber (not a good thing in the child's or dog poses), but worst of all, I kept slipping on the mat and I strained my body in trying to stay in place. Also, the mat kept sliding on the floor making my ability to stay upright even harder. The Premium sticky mat (the striped one) performed much better and costs significantly less even though I'm still looking for a better non-slip mat. Don't waste your money on the Oasis.』

(Toxic Yoga Mat)
『The smell from this yoga mat is toxic! I'm not sure why my experience was so much worse than the other reviewers, but I cannot recommend this mat. I tried airing out the mat outdoors (couldn't for more than a few hours as I live in a harsh winter climate, it was snowing, and am apartment city dweller) and washed it twice, but NOTHING would get rid of the smell. The smell made my sinuses burn and swell. HORRIBLE!!!! I ended up throwing it out because it was making me ill.

Perhaps if you lived somewhere where you could keep the mat outdoors for several days, this would not be an issue for you. Unfortunately, this was not an option for me.』

(Luxury Yoga)
『I love this mat. It's more gorgeous than the picture can show. The mat itself feels remarkable with its flexible fabric, fine-stitched grooves that provide extra traction, and thick padding. I frequently leave it lying out in the living room, not just because I want to do yoga on it every day, but occasionally I'll just want to step onto to it and can't help but do a vinyasa or three.』

(An Incredibly Intense Read)
『I found this book an incredibly intense book to read. There's nothing simple about it. I had hoped for both clarity and understanding and received neither. I kept reading...hoping upon hope that Shamdasani's words would hold me spellbound and captivated.

I seek truth in its simplest form, but did not find it here. While I am certain that Shamdasani's intent was to provide the reader with an intelligent read, his need for intellectual diatribes created, in stead, an emotional abyss; I found that I could not connect with his analysis without great intensity of focus. Frankly, I didn't have either the time or the inclination to work that hard to grasp the connections.

Had Shamdasani employed simplicity of thought and content as his guides, the average reader might actually benefit from his wisdom and intellect.』

(Worth reading both for Jung and for Shamdasani)
『Jung's ideas on Kundalini are brilliant, but reveal more about Jungian psychology than Kundalini.
As with all of Shamdasani's writing, his introduction provides a historical context that both enriches Jung's interpretation and tells us much of the era in which his ideas emerged』

(Although Jung didn't understand kundalini phenomenon...)
『...or what we now refer to as Spiritual Emergence, he amplifies the chakra symbols with such interesting illustrations that the book is well worth the price paid for it.』
『"Kundalini yoga presented Jung with a model of something that was almost completely lacking in Western psychology--an account of the development phases of higher consciousness.... Jung's insistence on the psychogenic and symbolic significance of such states is even more timely now than then. As R. D. Laing stated... 'It was Jung who broke the ground here, but few followed him.'"--From the introduction by Sonu Shamdasani

Jung's seminar on Kundalini yoga, presented to the Psychological Club in Zurich in 1932, has been widely regarded as a milestone in the psychological understanding of Eastern thought and of the symbolic transformations of inner experience. Kundalini yoga presented Jung with a model for the developmental phases of higher consciousness, and he interpreted its symbols in terms of the process of individuation. With sensitivity toward a new generation's interest in alternative religions and psychological exploration, Sonu Shamdasani has brought together the lectures and discussions from this seminar. In this volume, he re-creates for today's reader the fascination with which many intellectuals of prewar Europe regarded Eastern spirituality as they discovered more and more of its resources, from yoga to tantric texts. Reconstructing this seminar through new documentation, Shamdasani explains, in his introduction, why Jung thought that the comprehension of Eastern thought was essential if Western psychology was to develop. He goes on to orient today's audience toward an appreciation of some of the questions that stirred the minds of Jung and his seminar group: What is the relation between Eastern schools of liberation and Western psychotherapy? What connection is there between esoteric religious traditions and spontaneous individual experience? What light do the symbols of Kundalini yoga shed on conditions diagnosed as psychotic? Not only were these questions important to analysts in the 1930s but, as Shamdasani stresses, they continue to have psychological relevance for readers on the threshold of the twenty-first century. This volume also offers newly translated material from Jung's German language seminars, a seminar by the indologist Wilhelm Hauer presented in conjunction with that of Jung, illustrations of the cakras, and Sir John Woodroffe's classic translation of the tantric text, theSat-cakra Nirupana.

『This book has some really useful tips to practise yoga. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is it would be nice if there was a CD companion with the book that had the instructions. It is very difficult to remember all the thing you need to do in a pose when you are physcially exerting yourself.』

(It's not "Cool", it's fantastic!)
『This a great book for beginning practitioners as well as seasoned teachers. You'll find lots of great ideas for working with props, deepening your experience of postures and for opening your body in ways you haven't thought about. This a super reference book for working with props. The only critizism I have of this book is the word "Cool" in the title - don't let that throw you - this is a fantastic book!』

(SIMPLISTIC, VERGING ON BORING)
『There is nothing cool about Miriam Austin's cool yoga tricks. Her incredibly simplistic adjustments and variations are demonstrated in blah black and white pictures, pretty much the sort of thing one would find in an introductory Iyengar class. No revelations here, but some good reminders. A yoga teacher or student with common sense and a few props is probably doing all this stuff already.』

(Wow! A must have for yoga teachers and home practice!)
『I'm not so fond of the title but when I opened the book I knew I'd found a gem. I think this book should be called , "Essentials for building muscle memory of proper alignment" - not remotely sexy but very accurate. Miriam Austin delivers a fantastic resource for those who want to dissect asana. My only complaint is that it's not bigger with even more info about more poses. I love this book and will use it all the time. ABSOLUTELY WORTH EVERY PENNY! GET THIS BOOK!』

(So good I actually bought it)
『I took this out of the local library and found it so informative that I bought a copy. Don't let the title fool you, this isn't a bunch of ultra limber people posing - this is cool little tricks of the trade you can use to deepen your practice. Many of these techniques are taught by Iyengar instructors, and others as modifications, ways of opening the body, etc. Great little book at a veyr reasonable price.』

"I was born in Bali on June 17, 1973. I am the oldest of seven children, in a family consisting of four brothers and three sisters. I started to learn to sculpt at the age of eight when I was still in primary school, learning from my father how to carve traditional statues from wood. Balinese woodcarving touches me very deeply. I have learned a variety of arts in Bali, such as gamelan dance, but carving a piece of wood gives me an incomparable sensation. "At first, I sold my statues to the sellers in the art market and at small shops. After I finished school, I studied with Wayan Purna so as to have a stronger foundation to build upon, because even at a young age I knew that what I wanted was to be able to create the ideas I had in my head. But to do this I needed more experience, and the tools』
