『This is the absolute best Yoga instructional series.It is easy to folow but challenging at the same time.I found the Earth tape to be alittle too slow, but I recommend it for those who are extreme couch potatoes, or overweight, however it is a great beginner instruction manual.I would recommend skipping straight to Water if you are already in decent shape or have some experience with yoga or pilates.Fire will kick your butt, which makes it very challenging after you have mastered the Water tape, but it is still do-able.All in all I like these videos because of the complete instructions, and the variations shown by using the 2 yoga instructors, also they show the whole body, and proper positioning throughout the series unlike some videos that continually zoom in on the teachers face for effect.The first week with these tapes I noticed a a great difference in my flexability, and muscle tone, after a month I could do things with my body I havent done since middle school.I recommend this series for anyone who wants to learn some real Yoga and be challenged.』

(The Best Yoga Flow Video Workout)
『I bought this video because I couldn't find a hatha or vinyasa flow class in my community and wanted a solid, flexible practice to do at home. I love it for two reasons:

1) The increasing challenges of the Earth, Water and Fire sequences let me vary my practice. So far I have tried Water and Fire, and even though a few of the Fire poses are beyond me, I could modify them and still get a great workout.

2) I found many other yoga videos to be too introductory or not a real flow session. Total Yoga - The Flow Series really provides an everyday workout -- for days when you feel weak or strong. I have also been turned off by videos narrated in overly dreamy, otherworldly voices. Total Yoga includes no-nonsense narration that focuses on posture, focus and safety.

『This a tape that features a number of Tibetan yoga's pranayama (breath control) exercises. But beware: almost every exercise emphasizes retaining (holding) the breath as long as you can. For anyone with hypertension or heart problems, this is DANGEROUS. One yogi I studied with explained that breath retention was rarely considered a means of improving health; rather, it was considered an adjunct to meditation that was generally recognized as good for the soul, bad for the physiology. While very moderate breath retention is probably safe, anything involving even mild strain is a no-no. Buy this tape if you're curious, but don't hold your breath! And please, please read Iyengar's Light on Pranayama, the most comprehensive book on breathing exercises extant. Iyengar specifically addresses the limitations of those with hypertension, hypotension, etc., and teaches accordingly.』

『My expectation of watching a video with this topic is that the instructor shows at least some inner focus towards what he is teaching. This instructor is just plain hectic and restless. The exercises itself may be useful but the instructor takes away all the energetic exercises by simpley being incongruent in his teachings. Watching this video makes you feel nervous ,too after some minutes. Although the landscape in the background looks nice, the rest is amateur performance. Bad ratio between price and information.』

(A Wonderful Video to Help Us Gain Health!!!)
『This video gives us 30 minutes a day to regain both our mental and physical health. The exercises are purely Tibetan and purely wonderful. Lama Surya Das instructs us outdoors in a beautiful Colorado oasis (lake, trees, forest) and we learn how to take care of ourselves. These exercises are also a brilliant preliminary to our meditation. Nourishing, or balancing, both sides of our bodies, we are deeply harmoninized and ready to funtion in our highly-stressed world. The exercises also stand alone so that you don't have to meditate. Or we could even go a step further and state that these exercises are meditation. The wonderful thing about movement exercises is that they blend our meditation into our everyday life. With mindful moving and eyes open, this is crossing the boundary between meditation and non-meditation. One can practice meditation 16 hours a day! And these eight exercises are so valuable because they"crack"the body's inhibitions and dissolve the negativities there within. Releasing...releasing...releasing. Tibetan Energy Yogapromotes a healthy and harmonious flow to the energy system through eight exercises that focus primarily on breathing techniques. Lama Surya Das leads this 30-minute session with special concentration on the balance and purification of yoga (meaning union). Surya Das explains that we all have solar (male) and lunar (female) energies within ourselves that can be directed toward cleansing and grounding our spiritual being. Each of the eight exercises has three phases: the first stage is called filing up (or inhaling deeply), the second is holding (or meditating), and the third is grounding (or releasing). The last of these three is done with great fervor and Surya Das encourages an external release through vocalization (almost growling). This portion of the workout is definitely not for the soft-spoken or shy participant because it requires a total release of inhibitions. The format is more spiritually charged than your sweatin' to the oldies video--chanting and prayer play an integral part. The foundation of this set is meditation. Exercises enhancing flexibility that are usually part of a yoga format are not present here. In fact, the whole class is conducted in one sitting position with limited utilization of major muscle groups. The scenery is beautiful and the music is peaceful, which almost seems to contradict abrasive exercises like "in the lion's roar" and "bep-Chung" (meaning small jumps from a seated position). This unique yoga configuration closes out with concentrated mediation and the wisdom mantra (a haunting chant that may leave you humming the next day). (My first, and still the best!)
『This is the first yoga video I purchased, originally on VHS. I just replaced it with the DVD version that includes a bonus workout from the Total Yoga: Fire series. Total Yoga: The Original is a thorough and expert practice, demonstrated by Tracey Rich and Ganga White. It is more for intermediate-level practitioners rather than absolute beginners, because it does move quickly through the poses with no explanation. If you have some yoga under your belt, i.e. perhaps have done some of the Yoga Zone tapes or DVDs, you should be very happy with advancing your practice with Total Yoga. Although I do have other yoga DVDs (including the aforementioned Yoga Zone), after all these years Total Yoga is still my favorite. A fabulous stretch for the body, and a calming effect on the mind.』

(Relaxed-paced yoga session w/great emphais on Ujayi breathing&benefits)
『First off, Yoga Dad did a great job telling you the sequence of the poses done. The only thing I can add is that there is a locust before the bow pose.
The menu options include:
Intro - on how yoga is beneficial showing Tracey&Ganga's doing very advanced yoga positions.
Poses - shows you pics of all the poses done&brings you right to that spot on the workout
Total Yoga Fire - 15 min of part of their Fire dvd

The music in this dvd is VERY light, almost non-existent, but other times can be heard&is relaxing. The beginning Ujayi breathing lecture was well done&relaxing. In my opinion, there was too much repetition of yoga rolls (like a little kid rolling back/forth on spine), leg lifts&too many forward bends at first which unnerved me&I fast forwarded this portion. Once I did, I enjoyed the rest. Because I hadn't done yoga in a while, I enjoyed the relaxed pace to really feel the stretches. There is time to take several breaths for each pose as well as a calm emphasis in getting in&out of poses. I was particularly happy with&what I love is the reminders not just to breath, but Ujayi breathing which really helped me. Also since Tracey does all the poses&the voice over, Ganga only is shown briefly showing the very advanced form of the poses as well as tell you the organ/endocrine/muscle/bone benefits of each pose to keep you going knowing what great benefit you're giving your body.
Since the sun salutations A are modified, the B are not done, there are no warrior poses or side angle&only a twisted sage pose but with the knee down, this is dvd is not emphasizing fitness strength building. This is a great way to relax for a light day for people in shape or good workout for beginners who already know how to do poses. There is not enough instruction for those who are true newbies, though the instruction here is more body/mind, not western body part emphasis which I love.』

(Too Many Challenges for Beginners)
『"Total Yoga: The Original" lacks consistency in places. Ten percent of the workout is for beginners, sixty percent will appeal to intermediates and thirty percent of the workout is definitely advanced. This may present some frustration for beginners although intermediates may enjoy quite a few challenges.

The practice begins with relaxing breathing exercises and then moves on to mountain pose and spinal rolls. At this point you may feel like you are doing Pilates as you do rolling like a ball and a double leg lift.

The rolling sun salutes are frustrating unless you are advanced and the pace is too fast for beginners. After warming up the body you move to a clasped straddle fold and then to a straddle fold twist. At this point the balance challenges are intermediate and you may recognize the more typical postures like triangle, pyramid and pigeon pose. This is followed by bow pose, child's pose, spinal twists and a half forward fold. The inverted poses that follow present some advanced challenges.

Overall I felt frustrated by the level changes and could not relax fully into the ever-changing requirements. Unless you are advanced or have been intermediate for quite a few years, I cannot recommend this to you.

『Karen is such a good instructor; she really is in my top 5. She cues well and is motivating without being over the top and she's friendly to boot and makes working out fun (or more fun).
This is a short workout (about a half hour) that is easy to do and enjoyable. It is an upper body and ab workout that is more intermediate geared, I'd say. I don't think it's overly strenuous; maybe it's even a little short and there could be more reps sometimes. If you feel like you'd like more reps, then use heavier weights and you might get better results. Sometimes you really need total focus to achieve the movements (like the tricep and bridge sequence).
I love the fact that this is done on the ball because it makes a change from most of my other workouts. It's fun to do and the time flies and her graceful style of teaching separates her from othe instructors. I like doing this one and even find it a little relaxing even though you are working out. I highly recommend this one.』


(Low-impact, toning, balance ball workout)
『This excellent video is what the title promises- a toning workout using a balance ball. I don't have any other videos by Voight-she is a clear and encouraging instructor on this. There is an example of a more intense version of some exercises in the lady behind Voight. The DVD can either "play all" or play individual sections, which is convenient for creating a customized workout. The exercises are easy to follow and work out the major muscle groups. There is a warm-up, followed by some core exercise (neglected back and upper leg muscles), a "heavy" dumbbell section (10lb) that works out the chest and upper back, a "light" dumbbell section (5lb) for the arms and shoulders, then an abs section. Perhaps the legs are a little neglected, save some modified squats. It would be easy to add lunges and calf raises to do this however, on your own. Equipment needed includes a balance ball at a size where thighs are parallel to ground, light dumbells, and heavier dumbells.』

(Good Stability Ball Workout)
『The emphasis is on upper body and abs in this 30 minute workout. There's a 5 minute warm-up and stretch and 20 minutes of toning. You can do the entire workout or choose the warm-up, stretch and 4 toning sections individually. The sections are: core conditioning, heavy weights, light weights and abdominals. The core conditioning section includes push ups and back extensions. In the weight sections, you'll mostly focus on upper body with some interesting and effective combinations. Even though the sections are short, you'll really feel it especially if you use 5-8 lb weights. There's a few moves with the legs; but nothing really significant. The abdominal section has a few crunches on the ball. You'll also place the ball in various positions to really work the lower abs. I enjoyed this workout. Karen is an excellent instructor. She cues well and gives good form pointers.』

『As always, Karen gives an effective, precisely instructed work-out. She could have made more interesting use of the ball, which mostly functions as a weight-training bench in this DVD. Her B-L-T (Butt, Legs&Tummy on a Ball) workout is more creative, I think, but that's nit picking. Karen has never made a workout that is a waste of time -- she's simply the best.』

『I am relatively new to Reiki, but even so, I think this video was very basic. It is a led-meditation. I think most people could do this on their own without the video. If you've never ever meditated, then this might be for you. Otherwise, it can actually be quite distracting. I'd say read a how-to book on meditation, then just sit and do it. You'll do just as well.』

『I was skeptical at first. What could a DVD do for me? Then I took the chance and found a wonderful and soul enhancing experience. Sure, the DVD actual program seems simple - listen to Steve a few minutes then meditate upon a crystal doing some hand positions - done. But that's not the whole experience. I found the time spent within meditation opening states of relaxation I had found hard to do on my own. Most psychics/healers don't allow themselves to take time to 'work on their own learning and growing' as much as they should - this DVD allowed me to do just that. Take some guided time for just ME. I found that by letting my "concerns and high immediate expectations" go...("microwave society" doesn't exclude people who are in touch with their other senses; we still have to work on not living in this frame of thought)...that I was able to reach a stillness to which I grew in my abilities. Nice thing is that by owning the DVD, you can take this moment time and again. Are you going to feel instantly transformed, maybe or maybe not - BUT you WILL have grown and that growth will show up as you continue to move throughout your daily life. I'm very happy I own this DVD.』

I am by nature open minded but cautious. I read Steve's website top to bottom and was inspired by the truth as I read it. It resonated with something deep inside me. I was very drawn to his openness and perspectives on Reiki and decided that this was the right path to follow. I have not been disappointed at all!! Very congruent in all his writing and his mission statement.
His DVD's and books empower you on whatever level you are interested in learning. He is a true teacher. You can read it, see it and feel the energy.

『I was already a Reiki Master, and purchased Steve Murray's, Reiki Ultimate Guide, Ultimate Guide Vol. 2, Vol. 3, and Vol. 4, along with the DVD attunements for each. The attunements were very powerful, and the energy flow is no doubt stronger. This program has to be the most convent, and realistic way to get started in the Reiki healing practice. I have tried several other Reiki programs in the past, and Steve Murrays Reiki Ultimate Guides, are the very best I have found yet. You will not be disappointed.

(One Piece of a Wonderful Usui Reiki System)
『I would love to detail all of the specifics of what I found interesting and helpful from the books and DVDs in this system, but that would surely take up more time and room than this space allows, lol. Suffice it to say that those Reiki recipients whom I have been working with for some time have commented that they notice an increase in Reiki power -- and they didn't know that I had been doing further study with Steve Murray's Usui Reiki system products; they simply knew something was different. As a newly-signed author myself, I love his writing style; Steve is straight to the point without unnecessary wording --- I like and appreciate that.

『I read the previous reviews and many complained of a strong, new "chemical" smell. Although it did have a strong smell when I opened it and used it the first time, by the next day the smell had disappeared. Not sure if it's worth the exra few dollars compared to the other similar yet cheaper yoga mat on Amazon.』

『I started a stretching class at my local gym 3 months ago. The mat supplied for the class were too thick and to short. Also, I knew for a fact that they were cleaned during the day but not after each class. Yes, I was ready to buy my first mat. I really like the fact that it's longer and 1/4 inch thick. I think it is perfect! I've noticed the smell but it fades away after a couple of days (just keep it unrolled for a couple of days). Honestly, I don't see how a more expensive mat will improve my confort or ... flexibility.
