『Lord Krishna - Hindu God Brass Sculpture Religious Gifts. Lord Krishna is a deity worshiped across many traditions of Hinduism. Lord Krishna is often described as having the appearance of a dark-skinned man during his earthly incarnation, often depicted as a young cowherd boy playing a flute (as in the Bhagavata Purana) or a youthful prince giving philosophical direction and guidance (as in the Bhagavad Gita).
Brass is any alloy of copper and zinc; the proportions of zinc and copper can be varied to create a range of brasses with varying properties. Brass is a substitutional alloy. Brass has a muted yellow color, somewhat similar to gold. It is relatively resistant to tarnishing, and is often used as decoration and for coins. The craft is practiced by the people of the Kansari caste who can be broadly described as metalsmiths while a particular variety, dhokra, is practiced mainly by sithulias and hand carved by some of the finest sculpture artists of India. The largest concentration of the former is Kantilo and Balakati in Puri district although fairly substantial numbers are found in Cuttack, Ganjam and Sambalpur districts.』

(Top-notch sooth-ability!) 『Throughout this immeasurably relaxing album are the predominant natural sounds of both water and birdsong that get supported by an assortment of gentle keyboard instrumentations. (Connecting with mother earth through music!) 『This CD is a truly magical piece of music that mere words can't even describe!! The OM sound, which is the sound of all creation in the universe, gives the listener the ability to resonate into the earth frequency which is what the music is tuned to. When you truly meditate into the sound you can feel a transformation happening deep in your chest while your heart rate begins to dance with the OM sound! As you become one with the sound, a beautiful cosmic choir begins to unfold between the notes. This magical experience is different every time you listen to the CD. I would recommend this CD to anyone who truly wants to experience the power of sound! I listen to this CD every single day and it keeps me balanced and tuned into the present moment. It is also excellent for sound healing, insomnia, yoga and meditation, stress relief and pure relaxation. I have a 12 year old son that goes into deep relaxation through the power of this magical music. This CD will become a part of your daily life and it is a gift to humanity. Thank you Suzanne for creating this piece of music to help enlighten and connect humanity through sound.』
(Classic hypnotic) 『One low base synth organ like chord held constant throughout the piece, with small variations in the background barely perceptible, almost subconscious. My non 'New Age Music' friends just stare at me blank and say "I could have done that with one finger!" It's the small variations in the background that hold it together. This is music that's always changing yet always the same. An interesting paradox that she has superbly mastered. If you just glance at it it's just a base chord, but if you listen closely, there's always things happening, so it never gets stale. Hypnotic music to meditate by. (Very hypnotic)』 『The Sacred Sounds series consists of recordings of sounds that release encoded metaphysical information, while being played. The listener and the environment are being harmonized on a very deep level, by resonating to the Sacred Sounds which not only retune the cells of the body, but also retune mind and soul. Effortless balance can be achieved without even paying attention to the music or the sound that carries it. One can feel the energy of the environment being completely transformed. THE OM SOUND consists of one continuous track of 59 minutes. Ideal for meditation, massage, healing, especially REIKI and sleep therapy, it has been used successfully by many teachers, masters and healers. The creation of THE OM SOUND is based on many teachings and secret knowledge that has not been available to mankind for thousands of years. But the Keepers of Sound from many cultures have kept this knowledge and information, which has been encoded in these recordings alive! over the centuries. Oral and written information, intuition and channeling, scientific studies, artistic and visionary creativity has been used to create a series of recordings that facilitates the ancient wisdom of sound.』
IPhone 3G used's review (Fantastic!) 『This is a really nice, no frills, ashtanga video. Baron is very thorough, and gives lots of tips on holding the poses accurately. This video is also unusual, in that there is a focus on the bandhas, the two abdominal areas you are supposed to tighten in most of the poses. These are key in yoga, but usually overlooked in videos. Baron is also a great instructor, as he manages to be warm and challenging without being perky, cheesy, or demanding. Overall, I am very excited about this video. I was hoping to find something to replace my modified primary series ashtanga class (on days when i'm unable to make it to class), and this is absolutely perfect!』
(Baron's Approach to The Ashtanga First Series) 『This is the third tape in the three-part Baptiste"Power Yoga"series. It is essentially the Ashtanga Yoga First Series split in half to make a 45-minute session, which makes the tape sort of like David Swenson's Short Forms tape. I like Baron quite well, and this is a nice chance for more fitness-oriented Yoga practitioners to explore more advanced elements of Yoga like breathing technique, abdominal locks and gazing points. It is also, of course, a great workout, although it focuses a bit more on the poses and less on vinyasa or movement flow. Never fear, though, you will definitely breathe deeply and sweat.』
IPhone 3G used's review (Good but not what I was looking for) 『I really like sara Ivanhoe so I bought this after I'd been doing her hips and thighs video. This one is alright but I get the same exersizes on my pilates dvd I wanted more yoga moves. It's still a good workout but I like her others better.』
(A challenging yoga practice for strengthening your core) 『In this 20 minute video, instructor Sara Ivanhoe leads a challenging yoga practice aimed at strengthening your core abdominal muscles. She begins with standing side bends, adding a twist with a knee lift. Next comes some additional seated stretches with forward bends, twists, and spine rolls. Sara then moves to an all-fours position and leads some particularly challenging work moving from down dog to plank pose with one leg pulled in towards your chest. This is followed by some additional seated twists, including a twisting boat pose. Lying on your back, you'll then perform Pilates-like abs moves such as criss-cross, bicycle, and stretches with both bent and straight legs. You'll also perform a half sit up with the legs both bent and stright as well as side knee drops with the legs both bent and straight.
Although the box for this video says that it is "designed for all abilities," this is a tough, challening practice which is likely to feel overwhelming for beginners. The practice is best suited to those with some level of prior yoga experience as well as some pre-existing core strength. Overall, if you like Sara, have done yoga before, and want to focus more on your core, you are likely to enjoy this video.』

She does basic exercises that most dance, etc. use as warm up&she then proceeds to take a 5-7 min warm up&turn it into 22 min. This is best for those who are totally out of shape or can't exercise. Otherwise save your money. The production quality is great&I do agree if she has that big a chest (hey she was born lucky), she shouldn't be wearing such a low-cut tank shirt&the bikini on the beach scene... it must be for the men.
I'd write what's in it, but I don't have to since you can see almost the whole thing on youtube. 』
(This DVD is a total stress buster!) 『These 7 routines are simple yet highly effective in reducing stress. I can literally feel the tension melting away when I do these stretches. I feel much more balanced in general. The DVD is a must purchase for anyone who just wants to feel better!!』
(Eye candy for the guys, but didn't work for me...) 『I had trouble taking this routine seriously. First off Michelle LeMay starts by talking about yoga, laying forward with her large chest in plain view. Then in the routines it seems to be all about her and how she looks, including yoga on the beach in a skimpy bikini.
In addition, I think the DVD quality is poor. When played on my DVD player it broke up (like the cheap ones do). I had also purchased one of LeMay's other DVDs and it wouldn't even play. I sent my copy back to Amazon.』
(Just what the doctor ordered!) 『I've been doing yoga and Pilates for years and working out regularly for a while. While I enjoy "powerful", strong yoga or intense stretching, sometimes I want to stretch just to feel good, not to "progress". This 25 minute DVD, divided into seven sections, easily fills that requirement.
It starts out with a soothing roll down, first to the center, then to the sides, then back to the center. Next section focuses on the hips, with some forward rolls and twists, and then we move onto a neck stretch. Afterwards is a hip opener that finds you on your back and slowly rolling through your hips. Back to seated for some forward bends, then standing again to work more deeply into rotating your back, and then finally lying down to work on your breathing for a brief relaxation. Each section has one or two exercises, but they are down slowly, so the two to four minutes you spend on each is well-spent. You can do them all for one 25 minute relaxation, or you can do them in pieces. 4 out of 7 can be done seated, so most people should be able to get some relief.
This stretched out my back and neck when it was spasming, and overall made me feel very peaceful. Highly recommended.』 『" This DVD includes 7 different routines - less than 5 minutes each. (A good place to start) 『I enjoy this DVD and use it fairly frequently. However, the practices are very separate -- they don't flow easily together, so you can't really just do the whole video, one set after the other. Most people, I think, will find one or two practices useful, and ignore the rest.
The first section, "Mountain" is a gentle flow series of yoga postures. These are slow, easy, and should be within the range of most beginners. You are left in a cross-legged sitting posture, so that if you keep your remote close by, you can just shut off the video and go straight into meditation. This makes a nice morning practice.
The second section "Garden" is an unusual set of postures done in a chair. These help make the hips more flexible, so you can sit for longer periods of time in meditation. Rodney Yee also mentions that you can meditate while sitting in a chair. This series would be a perfect intro for those that choose this option. Also, once you learn these postures, it would be easy to do them at work, for a quick yoga break.
The third section, "Tree" is purely instructional, teaching four sitting postures that you can use in meditation. It's not meant as a daily yoga routine.
The fourth section, "Wind" is a breathing meditation -- such an important, and often neglected part of yoga. I use this section fairly often.
The final section "Sky" is a guided meditation. It starts in a standing position, which is a bit inconvenient if you'd like to do the last two practices together. ("Wind" leaves you lying on your back.) You do sit down to meditate, though. I use it on days when I need the instruction to get myself settled. As you progress, of course, you're going to want silence for meditation.
As others have noted, the scenery is pretty -- but I tend not to judge yoga tapes by that. After all, you are listening more than you are watching, when you do the practice. I like the music on this one better than others I've heard -- something a bit more important than what the video looks like, I'd think.
This is a useful video; it would have been even more so if "Mountain", "Wind" and "Sky" could blend together more easily to make a complete practice.』
(Helped reduce symptoms of stress) 『I'm a student, and have been really stressed out lately. I started to get an ulcer (I've had one before), experienced restless sleep, and was generally feeling frazzled. I'm a spiritual person, but was feeling spiritually deficit with not enough time in the day. I was desperate and I bought this DVD. I only used it a few times, but the result was remarkable and immediate. I'm a hardcore skeptic about all this free-your-mind, natural-healing stuff, but I couldn't be after this. The effects would last me through the day. My posture was corrected. I didn't experience any heartburn. I felt oddly "centered" (now I get what that word means!), and things just sort of fell into perspective. I felt nurtured. I highly recommend it if you're dealing with stress.』
(Meditation with lots of talking) 『I was looking for a product that would be a good introduction to yoga, and stress-relief/meditation are always a bonus. This is a good guide to meditation, except that he keeps talking. It would probably work well if you use the techniques to your own music or with the mute button. This product did not do a lot for me, physically. I am fairly active and was looking for a way to do some stretching and refreshing yoga. This is not the right DVD. Good if you want to meditate, but don't buy it if you are looking for physical rather than mental refreshment.』
(Perfect start to building a meditation yoga practice) 『In this video, master yoga instructor Rodney Yee guides the viewer through gentle yoga poses designed to allow you to focus your attention inward. The practice is divided into 5 segments:
1) Mountain. Rodney describes this as a "quiet flow series," and it contains about 12 minutes of simple stretches to warm up the body. 2) Garden. This 13-minute section focuses mainly on hip opening postures such as twists and forward bends performed while sitting on a chair. 3) Tree. In this section, Rodney spends 10 minutes reviewing 4 basic seating postures used for meditation: cobbler, hero, sage, and lotus. Each pose is practiced with and without a block for variation. 4) Wind. The purpose of this section is to concentrate on breath while in reclining postures; 10 minutes. 5) Sky. In this final 8-minute section, Rodney leads you through a seated meditation. His soothing voiceover instruction reminds you to turn your attention inward and to focus on your breathing.
Although I tend to concentrate on postures rather than meditation in my own yoga practice, I found this video to be enjoyable and restorative. I particularly liked the third section, as Rodney's breathing instruction helped me to really feel a tingling sense of deeper relaxation in my body. Rodney is an excellent instructor; his beautiful form while practicing is a perfect compliment to the gorgeous background scenery. This video would work well for anyone looking to add the benefits of meditation to their yoga practice without having to simply sit quietly in a lotus position.』
『"Meditation is a time-honored practice that reduces stress and revitalizes the body, mind, and spirit," explains Rodney Yee, instructor forYoga Journal's Yoga Practice for Meditation. "Meditation is awareness of posture, ease of breath, and attentiveness of the mind." In this beautiful video, Yee quietly and expertly leads you through five yoga practices that release bodily tension, improve posture, and open up breathing. The setting is grand and gorgeous Yosemite National Park, where Yee demonstrates poses in a meadow flanked by trees and cliffs, or at the edge of a lake or waterfall. The rewards of meditation are "living more calmly, more fully, with strength and grace," promises Yee. The practice is divided into five segments:Mountain, a series that moves from pose to pose, used for making the transition from daily activities to a sitting meditation (12 minutes);Garden, gentle movements done in a chair that open the hips and stretch the back (10 minutes);Tree, four sitting poses, using props to modify the poses to your personal flexibility level (10 minutes);Wind, with the focus on the movement of breath, releasing tension, and relaxing deeply (10 minutes);Sky, a meditation focusing on posture and breath, and "inviting the mind into the present moment, time and time again" (8 minutes).--Joan Price』 『Yoga Journal'sMeditation is a time-honored practice that helps reduce stress enhance relaxation and revitalize the body mind and spirit. In Yoga For Meditation internationally acclaimed yoga instructor Rodney Yee guides you through five easy-to-use sessions that help you develop a meditation practice by addressing the physical challenges commonly encountered: body tension improper posture and restricted breathing. The special DVD edition includes the complete five-part practice and an in-depth interview with Rodney Yee. Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (NOT for the weak-kneed!) 『I just did this video for the first time this morning and I was surprised at how sore my knees were afterward. Now they are not the greatest to begin with, but not terrible either - I can run a few miles if I'm careful. But I took a yoga class at the local college this past semester, and I had no problems whatsoever with my knees. The instructor gave us time to get into each pose correctly, the whole while giving tips on how to do each pose correctly, and then gave us time to get into the next pose correctly.
THIS VIDEO, however, DOES NOT give one time to move from pose to pose correctly, nor adequate tips on how to get into the poses correctly. I'm sure that's why my knees are sore. I don't see other complaints of this, so if you have no problems with your knees to begin with you may not have one with this video. But if you do have creaky knees, or cannot run because of knee issues, I would not recommend this video.
Beyond the knee issue, the video provides a decent amount of stretching, light strengthening maneuvers, and a couple of balance poses - which is all you can really ask of a 35 minute more-or-less beginning video.
I would not count on this video as my main exercise for weight loss. It is a nice adjunct as it will help with flexibility and balance, but if my experience in achieving and maintaining a 50-lb weight loss is any indication, you would do well to consider more strength training and some cardio that involves moving yourself in a way that requires real exertion, and not just movement per se. Try running (not jogging), jumping rope, swimming (sprints, not leisurely), cycling, rowing, etc. in addition to strength training. Of course you will need to work up to those levels - always start slowly, but do keep pushing yourself. Also cut out all sugar and grains, eat lean protein, fresh organic fruits and vegetables and you will lose quickly and without hunger pangs. Sugar and grains fuel the appetite, protein and vegetables quell it. And I do love yoga for the gains one can make in core strength, flexibility, and balance, so it's definitely worth taking a class or finding an excellent video. Good luck!』
(lost weight?) 『Is there anyone who can review this and say that they lost weight? there are lots of yoga dvd's available. I did yoga for years, even taught beginners, but I never lost weight. I'm older now and want something restorative to complement the cardio and weight work I do, but I want to continue to lose weight. Does this really help with weight loss or is it just about feeling energized or relaxed?』
(yoga weight loss for dummies) 『I really like this workout. It is easy to follow. I also have Pilates weight loss for dummies, but I like this one better. It is a 35 minute workout. 20 minutes of standing yoga and 15 minutes of mat work. I would recommend it.』
(Exactly what I was looking for.) 『I bought this DVD in search of a yoga-based weight loss routine, and found exactly what I was looking for. I have some basic yoga experience and while I don't know if this routine would be feasible for a real beginner, I would recommend it to anyone else. The pace is lively and intense, though not so much so that it takes twenty minutes to cool down. I was painfully sore for about two days after my first run-through, but I was surprised how dramatically the charlie horse eased with only one or two more run-throughs. Chris Freytag did seem a bit eerily robotic at first, but again it was easy to adjust too, as was the music.
My main issue with this program is the few sections during the mat work that I find too fast-paced. Specifically, it is difficult for me to move from either version of side-plank to child's pose and back as fast as Freytag does. Still, it is just something to work on. I also wish that just a bit more relaxation was added to the end, but the amount provided is sufficient.
In short, I would not hesitate to recommend this DVD to anyone with a familiarity with the groundwork of yoga who is looking for a workout. I would certainly purchase another Dummies program along these lines, should one ever be released.』
(a workable, sensible workout dvd) 『This DVD was a pleasant surprise when I first borrowed it from my local library (and I've borrowed all that they have). It's reasonable and paced well (at least for me). Probably because it's part of the "for Dummies" series, it has enough technical information in it to be interesting - more than most. It's taped in a studio, so you don't get the breathtaking scenery and the music could be a little more up to date, but, (and here's the big but (really sorry about that pun)) there's nothing annoying about this DVD. Most other DVD's I've rented or purchased have some annoying element that makes it difficult to put back into the machine for the 30th time. Not so with this one. The workouts are challenging enough, the leader is perky - but not too perky, and the Yoga-ish meditation-oriented stuff is not included. I wasn't looking for a meditation guide but for a low impact workout. I am VERY happy with this DVD and will certainly buy it again if this one gets damaged.』 『Chris Freytag presents a yoga workout designed to help viewers lose weight. (Dr. Beth wrote a great review) 『Ok, I can add it's set in a studio with 3 women&2 men all in great shape. Great lighting, good sound, good music, not too fast, not too boring. Jonathan leads speaking/teaching in real time. He will perform all the exercises himself&then help others as they stay in it. He cues YOUR left&right, not his/students. He gives great instruction, has a soothing voice, but not to soothing. This almost felt to me like a rigorous stretching workout rather then anything else. The warm up was the entire first section&at first I thought it would be too easy. After the warm up&stretching, there is modified&full pilates, stretching of the legs, butterfly stretch, torso stretching, bridge bridge w/1 leg up, etc. Last he gets more advanced with modified&full side plank, standing He saves the sun salutations, warrior poses, triangle, side angle, chair, camel, standing wide legged fwd bends, for almost last. Though many of the postures were modified, some were not. With all the stretching, time went quickly&I didn't realize I was sweating, heart racing&out of breath until it was almost over.

(Greate workout) 『After 3 months of practice Yogilates level 1 I moved to level 2, you can't start level 2 if you didn't practice before Yoga. I start losing pounds, my body is shaping and the best thing take back the control of myself』
(Okay DVDs but looking for better) 『These are decent DVD's except I don't understand why each DVD doesn't come with one session including instructional and motivational dialogue from Urla (this is what currently comprises the video) as well as a second session without all the dialogue, maybe with verbal ques on the next move. Urla has one of those nasal, feminine voices that isn't necessarily soothing or nice to listen to during yoga or pilates, in fact it can be downright grating. After three times going through the workouts with Urla's instruction I found myself clutching the remote and fast forwarding through his demos and chat. I find it so annoying that I'm searching for a new DVD set to work with.』
(good follow up to the beginner workout) 『I found the intermediate workout for yogilates to be a really good follow up to the beginner routine. I thoroughly enjoyed the beginner routine, so I was quite satisfied with the intermediate workout. The intermediate routine had the same set up and flow as the beginner workout, but was significantly more difficult, which was what I was looking for. The only reason I cannot give this product 5 stars is because the disk itself is a bit flawed and has a skip in it. All in all, I would recommend this workout to anyone who has mastered the beginner's routine and found it enjoyable.』 『Combining breath, balance and focus, this intermediate level workout follows Yogilates Creator Jonathan Urla and the on-screen class through a Pilates core strengthen sequence fused with complimentary poses from hatha yoga to lengthen and relieve muscles. IPhone 3G used's review (Best yoga mat ever) 『Excellent ... just what I was hoping for. I already had one of these for myself that I purchased at my yoga studio about a year ago. I wanted to get the same one for my husband, and this is it. This mat does NOT slip no matter how long you use it, even when sweating profusely, and no matter how many times you wash it! LOVE IT!!! 』
(Best Mat I have tried so far.) 『This mat beats other yoga mats by far. I practice Yoga 3 times a week and I do sweat a lot. This mat gives you a firm foundation and although it is only 3/16 it has enough cushion for sore knees. I can say I do not slide at all on this mat. I have purchased cheap mats it the past and this is well worth the money. Also a bonus Jade Harmony plants a tree for each mat that is sold.』
