Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (Wonderful!) 『As a person who commutes an hour to LA, I can say that I love this CD! Its simple, safe, relaxing and energizing. When I use this CD is the only time I feel better when I get out of the car than when I got in! Jen Swain makes you feel at home in your body. I especially love the face track. A great idea, and totally worth it!』 『Stop Beeping Start Breathing -- and use your commute time productively. Bumper to Bumper is a 13 track CD with a very simple breathing and movement exercise series that can be done while you are sitting in traffic. Starting with an introduction to breath this particular form of yoga uses a combination of focus and subtle movements to help release tension and wake up potential energy. Jen guides commuters through exercises designed to open the areas that get the most aggravated by sitting for too long: the neck, shoulders, back and hips. This is yoga for EVERYBODY. DANCE, LAUGH, DRIVE, BREATHE, RELAX And have fun! Jen is accompanied by Eric Bloom from the Los Angeles band Idiot bRother. Eric has come up with an organic, acoustic groove that sends you chair-dancing and driving through even the most gridlocked commute. Safety note: Yoga in the Car is not about zoning out, or hurting yourself in a stretch. Driving is your primary responsibility here. We want you to relax and unwind, but we want you to stay safe. Stay aware, keep your eyes on the road, hands on the wheel, seatbelt fastened, and mind wide open. Practice at your own risk and practice wisely. About Jen Swain: An experienced teacher and longtime yogi, Jen has been teaching yoga, communication, and movement for folks from 2 to 92 years of age for over a decade. She moved to Los Angeles from Rhode Island in 2006 and founded Om the Road, LLC, a company dedicated to finding practical ways to apply yoga in day-to-day life. A recent cancer survivor (coming up on three years in remission from Hodgkin's Lymphoma, thanks to yoga!), she is devoted to making the tools of yoga and communication available to everyone for healing themselves and the world.』

Only New Age Music
Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (A rarely achieved perfection in serenity - Michael Hoppé) 『As Michael Hoppé (Grammy nominated artist) states this album is a great achievement in ambient music. It is healing, soothing, perfect for massage, Reiki and other purposes. Lloyd Barde from Backroads says: "The Music of RESONANCE takes on visual qualities and otherworldly realms with a grace and ease that is easy to be with, and can be revisited often." My personal experience is listening to RESONANCE gives me a feeling of peace and tranquility and the state of being One with the Universe.』
(Expected great massage type relaxation music) 『I wouldn't recommend purchasing this unless you listen to all tracks first. I was not pleased with the depth or complexity of the music. Being a Reiki Master and Pranic Healer and Polarity Therapist, I've purchased quite a few albums over the years. This is on my, "sell on ebay" list. It doesn't quite transform or take one on a journey or inspire the imagination. I found Halpern, Master Charles, and some of the others much better and more appropriate for my needs. I am definately disappointed.』
(mediated state) 『This is my favorite ambient/synth album to massage with. If you are a massage therapist then you know that music can affect your client. Resonance will relax and put your clients in mediated state. This album will do that every time! Doucet and Miraz really complement each of very well. At times I can't even tell who is playing. It's like both of their playing just melts together as one. If you like ambient music then you must buy Resonance.』
(Maximum Lush!) 『Resonance now takes the place of Brian Eno and Harold Budd's "The Pearl" as my favorite ambient/synth album. Doucet and Miraz' playing complement each other beautifully. As anyone who has ever recorded synthesizer knows, the key to success is two-fold: First, the sounds themselves must be top-notch. There are a lot of cheezy synth patches in the world, and happily, none of them find their way onto this album. Secondly, since synthesizers are potentially cold and mechanical sounding, the PLAYING has to be expressive and sensitive. Again, Doucet and Miraz do not disappoint. My favorite track is the opening "Dancing Shadows" which features a haunting melody played on what I believe is a vintage Moog synthesizer, or a darn-good imitation thereof.
As for the mood, I would say that in a word, Resonance is REASSURING. Although it definitely has all the best features of space music, for me, there is just enough melodic/harmonic content to keep me in my body, and ultimately, after a few tracks, I end up feeling like all is well after all. This one is staying in my rotation for a long time to come.
I suggest you buy it. Listen to Resonance in the morning, and add a little bliss to your whole day.』
IPhone 3G used's review (Nice quick practice for focusing on your midsection) 『This video is part of Baron's Live! series: each video was filmed during a large, live class. Core Power is a shorter, more concentrated version of Baron's more lengthy practices such as Soul of Strength. Given that it is a power yoga workout, the practice moves along at a brisk pace, although Baron also builds in time for restoration throughout.
The practice begins with several sun salutations to warm up; each downward dog is held for several breaths. Following this, Baron skips standing poses and moves directly to the floor to focus on poses which engage the entire core area, particlarly the abdominals. Baron alternates between postures to stretch and lengthen the abs--e.g., bow, camel, bridge--and those that are designed to build strength, including crunches. At times, Baron moves quickly from pose to pose, but he uses postures like boat to provide longer, isometric contractions. The practice ends with a brief svasana, but since the music continues as the credits role, you could easily hold this relaxation pose for a longer period.
I really enjoy Baron's teaching style, which I find to be very accessible for all levels (although absolute beginners to yoga will want to learn the poses elsewhere). At 23 minutes, this is an excellent short practice for days when you have less time and/or when you want to focus specially on core work.』
(ABsolutely ABmazing!) 『Please forgive the "pun" in the Title of this review, but I couldn't resist :).
This "Core Power Live" tape by Baron Baptiste certainly lives up to it's title. It will really challenge your abs in a thorough and balanced way. He also counters the ab work with back bends which stretches out and opens the front part of the body while releasing and strengthing the back body.
While the primary focus of this tape is Abs, Baron starts w/ Sun Salutations so you are fully warmed up throughout your entire body before focusing on the core. He also ends w/ Foward bends, a lying twist and savasana (relaxation pose). The music continues long after the credits which is a nice touch if you decide to spend some extra time in savasana.
I highly recommend this tape for those who want a full body Yoga practice that is short enough to fit into anyones schedule and intense enough to challenge you.
Just one note.... regarding the criticism by another reviewer about the production being a mess..... I don't know what this person was looking for but I think this tapes production is perfect and captures the essence of the practice. It really feels like Baron is in the room with you leading you through the practice.
In fact I really love the live class setting which I find inspiring (and Baron shines more than ever in this setting) and his verbal cues are very easy to follow. I also like that Baron brings attention to different modifications of the various poses, which are demonstrated by various students during the class. An extra added feature is the music of Krishna Das which sets a great atmosphere to practice with.
By the way, check out Baron's other live tapes as well as his book "Journey Into Power". I easily lost about 17 pounds (all I needed to lose) at a safe but steady since using his cleansing diet and have learned a ton from the information in that book.
Also, check out Baron's sister Sherri Baptiste Freeman's Video "Baptiste Power Of Yoga" (see my detailed interview on amazon for more info). It is a wonderful, deep and unique approach on an intermediate level and Sherri's a wonderful teacher.
Namaste』
(Waste of talent.) 『This tape is only 25 minutes long and cost 20 bucks. I think Baron is a talented teacher but should find someone else to direct and produce his videos. I,ve never seen a bigger production mess.』
(Meet your abs!) 『This is a great little intermediate yoga workout. It is 23 minutes long and really focuses on core strength. It contains ab focused power yoga work, some traditional ab work, and some backbends. It will really get your abs in shape like nothing else and has helped my lower back pain as well but I can only speak for myself. Baron is wonderful as usual and there is nothing but good to say.』
(BETTER THAN A HUNDRED SIT-UPS!) 『Between this tape and the"living arts Pilates"tapes my abs are flatter and stronger than ever! This tape clocks in at about 20 minutes and it never lets up! From the first sun salute to the spinal twist your work the abs or"core"an streeeetch out the back. I would say this is best for intermediate yogis. Some poses are tough. Just breathe. And, you will feel it the next day. This is great to supplement a program, say combined with cardio. Also, it's great to give to those people who say you can't get a"workout"through yoga.』 『The Baron Baptiste Live! Series inspires, encourages and challenges beginning and experienced students through Baron's powerful yoga process of sculpting your ideal body and freeing your true self. This special-edition DVD includes 3 diverse yoga practices designed for any age, weight, or fitness level. IPhone 3G used's review (Outstanding - Stop Whining and get a clue) 『Do you ever get the feeling that some people will never "get" yoga no matter how many different ways they come at it? I read these reviews and had to comment. I think that if you are doing the tapes, Mark's voice did not impact my two years of using this tape whatsoever. My body changed by using his first three tapes and my wife and I really love them. His next series, Progressive Power Yoga gets it even better, but these first tapes are still an outstanding workout. Mark kicks your butt and makes you like it. It is fun, intense, centering and my stress is way down. I suggest you don't take my word for it, don't take the other reviewer's word for it, make up your mind for yourself. Mark jokes about buying people a gym membership if they do not believe his workout does more for their body than the gym... I wonder if he ever had to make good on that challenge? We had stopped doing yoga for a few months and when I saw him ranked number one in Fitness magazine, I went to Amazon to see if I could replace a few worn out tapes. Read the reviews and had to add a few of my own. I think if you are even remotely adventurous, you should try this guy. He is the best workout my wife and I have ever done!!!』
(I've had better Experiences..) 『Mark Blanchard is incredibly flexible and strong, and watching him do some positions can be motivating. His voice, however, is not. I can tune out irritations and get past most things, but I found I couldn't get past his voice and emotion. Yoga is a sport best taught in a moderate, soothing, even-toned voice to not interrupt your concentration and meditation. I wished that I could turn off the sound and just follow the tape, but then I wouldn't have had a flowing workout. I have concerns with the opening warm up as it is too strenuous for the average person's lower back and as a devotee to health and fitness, is not a move I would recommend. The repetition of it is likely to strain people's backs and cause injury. Once you get past that, the rest of the tape is a good workout and when you get to the Sun Salute flow, you will be tested and your muscles will scream. I would recommend looking for tapes with Rodney Yee or by Yoga Zone before this one.』
(Demonstrative - not instructional. Not for serious seekers.) 『I've had this video now for over three months and upon my further investigation of what true, authentic yoga is, this video exemplifies what it is not. The video IS demonstrative, not instructional. You really need an instructor to do this practice with effectiveness and wisdom. It is not for beginners.
Yes, (ashtanga/power) yoga will make you fit, but its more subtle than that. It's an internal practice, and being fit is a by-product. It's not about how you should look like; it's about getting in touch with your authentic self. This power yoga video is just one of the many examples of the current over-emphasis of the physicality of yoga.
The practice is a process of becoming sensitized to your body as well as being strengthened, in body, mind, and spirit. But it's hard to reach that centred, meditative, focused state when Mark Blanchard is talking, and subjectively speaking, he just seems to talk too much at times. He doesn't help facilitate the inner quiet and focused intensity one aims for in a practice (in this video anyway). There's even a point when he yells"HOW FAR CAN YOU TAKE IT!?!?!". If I heard my instructor say something like that, I'd want my money back. When you're in a particularly challenging or intense asana, the last thing you want to hear is someone yelling at you. You want a calm, balanced voice like Rodney Yee, Baron Baptiste, Patricia Walden, John Scott, or David Swenson. You want quiet in order to focus and listen to your body.
Four important principles particular to power or ashtanga yoga that are completely left out in the video are Ujjayi Pranayama (correct breathing), bhandas (internal body locks), dristes (gazing point), and vinyasa (the linking of asanas, or postures). It's important to know them if you want the real thing.
In addition, if you're interested in authentic Ashtanga yoga, which is where power yoga is derived from, be sure that the instructor has studied under Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, who is the contemporary source of it all, for example David Swenson's books or videos, or John Scott's new DVD. Another highly recommended instructor is Erich Schiffman, author of Yoga: The Spirit&Practice of Moving into Stillness. There is a depth to their teachings that I don't see in Mark Blanchard's instruction, even though he apparently studied under K. Pattabhi Jois in the past.
Practice with this video often and you'll be listening more to Mark Blanchard than to your own body.』
(Amazing!!!!!) 『Well, all I can say is that this is TRUE power yoga. For those of you who are so critical of Mark's voice, if you were really doing this video, you wouldn't notice his voice. You'd be in the "Yoga Zone." I've been practicing yoga for 2 years and power yoga for one year. I have many power yoga videos and this one is truly power yoga. The results I have seen are amazing. It builds strength and stamina in a short time and you see the changes in your body fairly quickly. I used to work out withweights and do aerobics. You don't need any of that if you practice with this video. You are dripping sweat and working and stretching every part of your body. When you are done a sense of calmness comes over you that you could never get at the gym.
If you've been practicing yoga for a while, try this video.』
(There is power to be had in power yoga) 『I you have been reading some of the other reviews I found the overall criticisms of Mark Blanchard to be exaggerated. His voice is not annoying. He is a very adept Yoga practioner and his is clear to state the fundamental reason for yoga is to better understand and become intune with your own body. The added benefit of yoga is a killer body. I do want to say that this is not the traditional practice of what is known as the more athletic yoga, Ashtanga. I do practice Ashtanga and while he takes some poses from the discipline, most are not. However, the workout is great, you will sweat and you will be sore. This tape is difficult for those new to any yoga practice but not impossible. Like anything new, time is needed to adjust. I also found it interesting that while doing a stretch in the video, he left the scene of him falling out of the pose. This is to emphasize that though he has been practicing for many years, he is still growing and the newcomer should not feel daunted by the practice if they cannot do every move. My boyfriend and I enjoy his tape and feel limber and rejuvenated after viewing it.』

There are more reviews on her vhs version&this DVD suggest you master her 3 dvd beginner "easy"&3 dvd intermediate "hello fitness" series first. From other reviews on her other DVDs, you know she has a soothing voice with an accent that I didn't have trouble understanding, the views are gorgeous&she always tells you great info about body placement, even chinese medicine/martial arts/qi gong terms. She also tells you what organs or parts or systems of the body each pose works on as you do it to keep you going. Her soft speaking never intrudes your concentration. The music is light new age, mostly dominated by piano or string instruments. The poses done are: wide arrow (balance on butt, legs spread), seated spinal twist (beginner level), supine side leg stretch (beginner), Dynamic Combo Rolls (plow, roll up to boat, then down to seated straight leg fwd bend in one fluid motion *easier then sounds&invigorating*), camel (beginner), child's pose (beginner), toes/palm side stretch (holding weight on 1 hand&1 foot with other arm reaching ceiling *need some arm strength*), patient crow (modified crow *modified handstand*), full split (1 leg fwd, 1 back, not Russian *just do your best, good stretch, use hands to hold weight up*), scorpion (handstand using wall), chin lock plow, shoulderstand (beginner), karnapidasana (shoulderstand w/knees into shoulder (adv.), double angle pose (standing fwd bend with arms held out (beginner), wheel (int.), 1 leg in air wheel (adv.), cross leg relaxation (beginner *resting pose*), bulldog stretch (standing legs wide&arms on ground stretching in front of legs&behind, beginner), half lotus stand (stand w/1 foot on inner groin same hand reaches around to grab toes&other hand reaches into sky *easy, just need balance*)&ends in her usual cute dance chant. Reviewer's only complaint is too much makeup&colorful outfits. Some had trouble with her accent, but I who usually do, did not. Her website is under her name wailana com』
(Great video) 『This video was really well rounded. There were a variety of postures and each posture was followed with a counter pose. This is not a flow video so anyone who is looking for a vinyasa based practice this might not be for you. The video ends with chanting and a relaxed dance that is really quite fun.』
(What a great workout!) 『A while ago my sister gave me some of the Wai Lana Yoga tapes from the Easy Series and I fell in love. I've worked my way up to this Burn Off tape which is more advanced, but challenges me in ways that I like. My body is relaxed and and stronger now and my friends tell me that I look good. I really think it's because of these tapes. I especially like the Burn Off tape because it pushes me in ways I would have never pushed myself, and Wai Lana's voice is soothing and relaxing which makes the total experience a pleasure. I give this video a very good recommendation.』
(WAY TOO ADVANCED!) 『This video is really just WAY TOO DIFFICULT. I've been taking 2-3 yoga classes a week for over a year now,,and consider myself to be very flexible. In this tape, you can barely understand the instructor, and she does things like complete splits, headstands, etc. Very bizzarre. I regret my purchase and disposed of the tape after one time using it.』

This DVD is amazing! All those years of gym-style cardio hasn't changed my body for the better as much as these 20-minute sessions 3-4 times a week has. I'm leaner, stronger, more flexible, destressed, and happier (so is my husband!). This is a great DVD for anyone. Thank you to the Young Survival Coalition!』
(Easy workout for beginners who know poses, good breath connection) 『This is set outside with a wonderful view that have been on other Self dvds&2 women backup, one showing modifications, all in good shape. The production values are professional. The music starts with a good beat, though a little too like other fitness music, but it changes with the workout&gets lighter with more Asian&then meditative music which was wonderful. Stephanie Culen does well telling you when to breath almost at all times when she's not giving pointers on how to do the poses right. She doesn't have time to give full explanations, only the usual reminders. Her voice was not soothing to me, not irritating, but it sounded a little stressed/stiff possibly from nervousness. Intro about workout: 3 min Active Sequence: 21 min mountain with arms moved to breath, mountain w/side bends, wide angle standing w/arms moved to breath, standing wide angle bend, warrior 2 on each side, , warrior 1&2, repeat on other side, warrior 2, 1, 2, repeat on other side, standing wide angle bend, warrior 2, revolved warrior, triangle, side angle, crescent w/prayer twist, 1 leg hamstring stretch, down dog, standing fwd bend, mountain, repeat on other side. Sequence again on both sides with poses only held for 1 breath each. Cat/cow stretch, hands/knees 1 arm/1 leg up balance, child's pose held several breaths. Locust, bridge, reclined butterfly. Restorative Sequence: 20 min Reclined butterfly, in that position, mild sit-ups a bit, knees to chest stretch, pilates ab exercise bicycle elbows to knees, pilates reclined single straight leg lifts/downs, knee to chest stretch, reclined w/straight legs up with flexed feet to stretch legs upward. Reclined single straight leg stretch to head, figure 4 knee to chest stretch, reclined crossed leg spinal twist, fish, sitting fwd bend, legs in figure 4, go into table top position to strengthen legs, single leg sitting fwd bend, single wide leg fwd bend, single leg wide angle bend, butterfly, seated side torso stretch, easy seated spinal twist, seated, normal, slow, deep breathing Final relaxation/Savasana: 1 min
I like Stephanie's importance of breath, but I did not feel the poses felt right, most felt like they should be reverse to open up better. I am picky about body awareness. I also did not like the repetitiveness of the warrior 2s in the beginning nor the pilates workout for something titled "de-stressing." I can see how others would like it though. Since she does not have time for full explanations on doing the poses correctly, this may not be best for newbies as one of the backup girls did the warrior 2 incorrectly by allowing her knee to go past her toes.
Preview: collagevideo com totalfitnessdvds com which is also on youtube 』
(Good, non-intimidating stretch) 『You don't have to be a yoga pro to do this DVD. Stephanie Culen cues well and gives modifications if you need to make the poses a little easier. She encourages you to work at your own pace and listen to your body. The standing section starts out with side stretches and warrior poses. Stephanie builds on the basics and it becomes a nice, flowing routine. The floor routine is a little strange at first with the abdominal exercises. You hold the stretches a little longer in this section. I like both workouts. You get a thorough stretch and it's not intimidating if you're not that flexible.』
(Great instructor) 『This is a good workout with a great instructor--she is very businesslike in the sense of getting right down to the workout without extra chit-chat (religious or otherwise), but does so in a very calm fashion. I only noticed a couple of areas near the end of the first workout where she seemed to rush things a bit (the twists) to where you were not quite in position to get a couple of breaths in before you were already getting out of it and going on to the next position. However, since there is always a bit of lag time when you're following along anyway, this is something you can adjust for.
Whether you're a beginner or more advanced, you will get a very soothing workout. The scenery is beautiful. I hope Ms. Culen does some more yoga DVDs soon.』
(Great DVD for Beginners) 『Having done a Yoga class at my local YMCA and enjoying it, I decided to pick up a yoga video for home. I grabbed this one and am so glad that I did. As the other reviewers have stated this DVD is made up of 2 routines that both last 20 minutes. The DVD allows you to select either one or the other. If you choose to do the first routine (standing yoga) it will flow into the second routine (floor yoga). The video was well done with enough repetition so that even the most green beginner would be able to pick up the poses. The instructor was very clear and offered several different variations as to levels of poses. The day after doing this yoga dvd (even though I typically do at least 45 minutes cardio and weight training at my gym several times a week) I had some muscle soreness. This is a great workout for those who are looking for a low impact workout. I would highly recommend it.』 『This program in the Self series is aimed at women who want to have a good yoga workout. IPhone 3G used's review (Yoga book) 『I gave this book to my 22-year-old son for his birthday. I love the clear descriptions of the poses, the photographs, and the layout of the book in general. I also like the upbeat, youthful approach of Mr. Baptiste.』
(Too disjointed) 『I love Baron and I should preface this review by saying I have considerable Power Yoga experience, though I'm far from expert. I also have to work within some physical limitations.
That said, I found this video far too slow and disjointed and, as one reviewer said, too easy even for beginners. It had no flow like you expect in vinyasa yoga.
I would say that if you need to learn the very basic poses this would be a good video. But if you want a short practice that flows, this is not a good video for you.
I would suggest a Bryan Kest video or most any other Baron Baptiste videos. But just not this one.
I enjoy short practices and Rodney Yee, Bryan Kest and even Baron have some very good ones. I would pass on this unless you are a real novice and need to understand the basic poses.』
(Enjoyable practice) 『I am really enjoying this DVD. It is 30 minutes of a moderately challenging power flow. I am pretty physically fit already from an intensive yoga practice and I also do Karate 3-4 times per week. This is for me a great quick practice when I want to vary my routine.』
(Good for experienced beginners.) 『I think is a great yoga dvd. It is a worthwhile substitute to attending a Baron Baptiste yoga class. While the instruction is superb I still find there are a few flaws with the DVD. The instruction assumes that you have an understanding of how to assume the poses, as well as the ability to do them correctly.
This is not a DVD for the total beginner, who has no knowledge or experience of yoga. There is no accompanying instruction or breakdown on the postures. I think someone entirely new to yoga would be lost trying to follow this program. Also there are a few minor mistakes in the instruction that might confuse the viewer.
If you have no experience or undestanding of yoga I suggest you first try the Yoga Zone DVDs which have slower instruction and repeat the steps for each pose so you can see how they are done. I also suggest for the complete beginner to attend a yoga class to get at least a foundation on yoga postures and learn the proper way to do them.
Though I don't think this DVD is easy for the total beginner, I think those with a basic knowledge of yoga would greatly enjoy it. It moves quickly and flowingly. It is not slow and sedative like some of the yoga DVDs out there. It keeps a quick pace that is easy to follow and does not bore you or let your mind wander.
It is definitely good for strength and stamina building without being too challenging. I consider this to be one of the best yoga DVDs Baron Baptiste has done.
』
(Baron, Great As Always!) 『I have a very extensive Yoga DVD/Video collection (over 80 and counting). Out of all of them, Baron is definitely my overall favorite teacher, hands down!
This program is a 30 minute, moderate intensity vinyasa flow. It is similar in intensity with Baron's "Unlocking Athletic Power" and "Core Power" programs in terms of length and difficulty. It's slightly more intense (mostly just by virtue of being 10 minutes longer) than his "Power Yoga Basics" program which is found on his "Transform Your Life, Yoga With Baron Baptiste" which was originally aired on PBS.
This "Journey Into Power" Level 1 program is very well rounded, has clear instruction and a nice overall feel to it. It's a class setting so you get to see lots of different ways of doing the poses.
Baron has a wonderful approach in that students should use their intuition to approach the poses at their own level of ability or energy level on any given day. You should go to your own personal "edge" without going into overwhelm.
I've been doing Yoga daily for over 7 years and found this DVD very useful for a shorter practice. My 12 year old football playing son has worked with Baron's programs and has gotten tremendous benefits from them (and did this particular DVD this morning) and my wife who is fairly new to yoga jumped right in to this program and has really enjoyed it and is making wonderful progress in strength and flexibility after only doing it for about 4 or 5 days. She also loves Baron's approach which is not intimidating even though she still finds it challenging enough to make her feel like she's getting benefits from it.
I hope this review helps those who are interested in trying a vinyasa (flow) based style of yoga, those curious about Baron as a teacher in particular or those who may be familiar with Baptise Power Vinyasa Yoga but are looking for a shorter practice to mix in with their other programs.

I bought this specific one because I am allergic to latex, and I wanted a mat that wasn't full of other chemicals. I love it! We bought it for our Wii Fit, and wanted a longer one as my husband and I are both of 6ft. It has no odor and has a nice grip.』
(fine mat) 『I have a basic sticky mat that is good, but my knees hurt when I kneel. This mat has more cushion so that I don't have to alter my exercise to save my knees. It is also longer so that my head and feet are both cushioned when I'm lying down. Haven't owned it for long, so I don't know how it'll hold up over time, but I like it a lot so far.』
(Great at First, But Not Durable Enough for Regular Use) 『I really loved this mat at first. Yes, it was a little slick and smelly, as most new mats are, but after scrubbing with vinegar solution and letting it sit for a few days, the smell and residue were gone. The mat is soft and supportive, a good size for a taller person (I'm 5'11"), and non-toxic. The only drawback was that it was always kind of slick if my hands were sweaty (a problem in an 85 degree ashtanga studio - I can't even imagine doing hot yoga on this).
But after a few months, it began to shred where my feet are in a downward dog. It's been about 5 or 6 months of 3-5 practices a week, and dime-sized chunks are now missing. I leave class with blue plastic lint all over my pants and under my toenails (which I keep trimmed, thankyouverymuch).
In short, if you're doing a more relaxed style of yoga on a hard wood floor, this might be a nice cushy mat for you; it certainly feels great for savasana. But it is not durable under regular use, and it is not appropriate for a sweaty class.』
(not worth the money) 『The rubber that this mat is made of is just too soft. I practice hot room power yoga and sure this mat is non slip, but my hands and legs sink into the mat and stretch the mat out. Makes me feel like I am practicing yoga on a piece of cotton fabric.』
