It's completely unique sounding with cool little instrumental riffs all the way through. David&Steve Gordon are a really talented duo.』
(Great for focus) 『I am not a big Yoga person but I do love my meditations. This has proven a wonderful focusing tool for me. I'm absolutely thrilled that I found it and had enough confidence to buy it online! (I think I'll check out Yoga though, this is inspiring.)』
(Awesome!) 『I often listen to Oneness and I love it, I really really do but I think I've convinced several of my girlfriends that Yoga just isn't the same without this CD. This is some awesome Global Electronica, very cool, very chill, but alive. Actually I first found these guys (David and Steve Gordon) through Buddha-Lounge, (also recommended). These tracks are all different which is great because then I can mix them up on my player and have an unbeatable mix for driving or lounging outside of my yoga. I guess you could say it's universal and an all around great set of tracks.』
(Way more than just yoga music~) 『I actually bought this and Yoga Moods at the same time and I could not be happier with my purchases. They have provided me wonderful new pep and inspiration for my routines. Frankly they are beautiful even for just lounging around my house.』 『Get in the flow - Experience a serene space where you can let go of stress, feel serene and rejuvenate your body and soul. IPhone 3G used's review (Too Soft) 『I didn't see any results, nor did I improve my practice with this DVD. The poses in the second section are fast pace and not easy to follow. The exercise is not aerobic at all. The locations are beautiful and I use some of the poses as stretches after running.』
(The best of Rodney) 『I had this particular Rodney Yee program for years on VHS, until it wore out. I was glad to find it on DVD. With over 30 years of practice, it remains my favorite routine. Divided into 5 short mini-routines geared toward different times of day, you can choose which ones fit your need. It is easy and fun enough for beginners, but challenging enough for more advanced practitioners who need a "pick-me-up" during the day.』
(A MORE ADVANCED LEVEL, A CHALLENGE, AND WONDERFUL!) 『I have been into Yoga for several years and am now going to the Intermediate level. This superb Rodney Yee DVD is for one who knows the Yoga positions as this is done with little dialog and one is expected to be very familiar with Yoga. Each session is at a different time of the day. The first 2 sessions are my favorites in the morning and take just about 15 minutes. The 3rd one the Creativity lasts right at 16 Minutes (the longest, most difficult and the very fastest section). The last 2 sessions called Reflection (11 minutes) and Surrender (4 minutes) are my PM favorites. These were done on the DVD at SUNSET and these last 2 sessions, just 15 minutes total are wonderful to do in the PM after dinner and I have found that I am so relaxed and sleep wonderful after I have done these! What I love so much about this DVD is the navigation is so easy and you can choose the section that you wish to work on. This, I give a SUPERB RATING and oh yes, 10 STARS! Bravo!』
(My favorite yoga video) 『This video is one the I use for my daily practice. It's so nice not to hear verbal instruction -- that might be necessary for beginners, or the first few times you use a DVD, but after the 50th time you hear the same old stuff you feel like telling Rodney to "Shut up!" In this DVD, all you hear is the name of the pose -- which would be a disadvantage to absolute beginners.
The first section "Awakening" is similar to the A.M. Yoga, or the "Back Care" section of the Healing tape in this same series. Nice, easy stretches.
The second section "Centering" is a nice flow series of standing poses. It really gives me some much-needed help with balance. You go through the series twice, first doing Tree to the right, then Triangle to the left, and so on through, Side Stretch, Warrior I and II, Half Moon, Warrior III, and Extended Leg Stretch. It's the shortest routine on the DVD, but quite possibly the best.
The third section, "Creativity" is the most difficult, and the one which seems to generate the most complaints. It *is* fast; I think it's intended to be aerobic. The worst part to me is that I simply can't make some of the transitions. It is physically impossible for me to jump from dog pose to standing forward bend, for example, or to go directly from downward dog to Triangle. Dog pose, or the plank-up dog-down dog sequence is used to transition between poses, and quite frankly, I usually just skip this and do the next pose. (Anyone who needs to use the blocks will not be able to keep up otherwise.) Things slow down towards the end, however. I keep trying with this practice, but I skip it more frequently than any of the others on the DVD, and it's the reason I can't give it five stars.
The fourth practice "Reflection" is virtually the opposite of the one before -- nice, slow seated forward bends. You spend quite a long time in each one, and it's very relaxing.
Finally, there's a short four-minute relaxation pose, the only practice where there's any narration. I usually mute it at this point; if you don't, you'll find yourself rudely awakened by Rodney explaining the whole concept behind the Energy practice.
Overall, it's a good everyday practice, and that's how I use it. I add some conscious breathing before I start, and meditation after it's over, and that's my usual yoga practice for the day.』
(This is the DVD that got me hooked on Yoga) 『Exercise is one of my passions. My collection of videos and DVDs is huge. I always love a challenge. The reason I even started doing Yoga was that severe degenerative arthritis began to impair my ability to do many of my favorite aerobics. The very first DVD that introduced me to Yoga is Patricia Walden, Flexibility Yoga. I highly recommend it as an introduction to Yoga. It is very good. She explains the poses in great detail. Yoga For Energy was the second DVD that I tried. It was extremely challenging especially in the beginning. I had sweat pouring off of me by the end of the session. That has always been a gauge for a good workout. I love the fact that I can now do a backbend. The mobility that I was losing from arthritis is returning. My body definately responds well to this workout. My collection of Yoga DVDs has grown. I love most of them. My favorites still include this one. It still challenges me, but I love a good challenge.』 『Yoga Journal's approach to instructional yoga tapes is always innovative, but their hour-longYoga Practice for Energyis truly different. Filmed at the beach on Maui, the sessions Awakening, Centering, Creativity, Reflection, and Surrender offer movements that follow the cycle of the sun through the course of a day. Viewers are encouraged to first try the entire tape several times, and then use the sessions that correspond to their needs at any particular time. For example, if you've just trudged in the door from a hectic day, you may want to use the Reflection session, in which "a cooling, tranquil series of forward bends and hip openers let all activities of the day seep in like watercolors setting into paper." There is almost no narrative accompanying the five practice sessions, and if you are a beginner you may feel lost at first viewing. Have no fear: there is a wonderful appendix of poses at the end of the tape to which you can refer for tips on technique and variations.--Jhana Bach』
IPhone 3G used's review (Excellent!) 『I've been using "The Power of Hatha Yoga" for over a year now and I find it to be very challenging, and yet surprisingly calming, at the same time. The tape is pretty long, but when it's over, you hardly notice that 80 minutes has gone by. It's hard to do this tape after work, as I wind up finishing around 8:00pm, which is kind of late to be eating dinner. But, I usually skip dinner on those nights and just have a small protein shake or light salad. I can stay up much later and sleep so much more peaceful on the nights that I complete this yoga tape. I wouldn't recommend this tape for anyone who has small children, unless you have a quiet place without interruptions. Eighty minutes is a long time to ignore the little kiddies. Out of all of the yoga tapes that I own, this is by far my favorite!』
(The Power of Hatha Yoga) 『This is an excellent video! Naader Shagagi is an inspiration to watch and practice with. His easy-to-listen-to voice provides clarity and understanding as he guides you through this very thorough yoga workout. It is challenging enough for the seasoned yoga student and athlete, while it covers some basic essentials of Hatha yoga that will benefit anyone on a more introductory level. If you have to buy just one yoga video, this should be the one.』
(Power of Hatha Yoga is for ALL TYPES) 『I have been practicing yoga for 12 years and recently my schedule required me to practice on my own. I found Shagagi's tape online and I couldn't be more pleased. The poses are strong and the breath coaching is the best I've seen in any video. I love that the video follows the basic tenants of classic hatha yoga and holds to those principles. Even better, I have had occasion to practice with my elderly neighbor who also found the tape doable. She is new to hatha yoga but was able to follow Mr. Shagagi's instructions for modifications. She also found his voice soothing, his words encouraging and inspiring. All in all, I find this the BEST video for hatha yoga out there!!』
(The Power of Hatha Yoga) 『Naader Shagagi is a gifted and gentle teacher. He leads you through the exercises very slowly. Naader, will lead you through 35 clearly instucted postures and two breathing exercises. This video requires about 90 minutes to do, and it is not for beginners. However, I look forward to the weekends so I can devote that much time to yoga. This tape really helps increas your willpower and will help you develop flexibility. This is truly a very beatiful tape. This tape helps recapture lost youth and vitality』
(Perfect choice for Hatha beginners and experts) 『I love this video. I was looking for a yoga class and couldn't find one that would fit my busy schedule. So I decided to purchase a tape that I could do anytime. I went on-line and found"The Power of Hatha Yoga"with Naader Shagagi. It is a wonderful workout for mind, body and spirit. To achieve maximum benifits of any exercise program I believe all three of these elements are essential. Naader is awesome. He explains everything very thoroughly and also how the postures are helping your internal organs. I look forward to my workouts with Naader. He epitomizes Hatha Yoga and what it can do for you...』 『A serious yoga practice involves a real commitment, and make no mistake about it: Naader Shagagi'sThe Power of Hatha Yogais a serious undertaking. It is long, with some 80 minutes of poses following an introduction; there are a lot of poses, some of them quite advanced; and despite the claim that it's "for people of all ages and all levels of fitness," a lot of beginners may find themselves bewildered by the pace and complexity of the practice. That said, it should be emphasized that this is an excellent tape. Shagagi knows his stuff, and he presents it with no frills. He offers concise instruction, useful encouragement, and insight that extends beyond the purely physical to the importance of such elements as concentration, will, and energy. As for the practice itself, it's divided into two 40-minute sections. The first includes sun salutes and various standing positions, ranging from the common (warrior, tree, etc.) to relatively esoteric poses; the second part focuses on reclining postures, backbends, inversions, and forward bends.--Sam Graham』 fetish『 Baron Baptiste's Hot Yoga: The Power Yoga Method -(Level 2 - The Next Challenge) 』

IPhone 3G used's review (good for body and soul) 『the videos are easy to follow, they helped my low back pain, gave me peace of mind to start my work day, didn't see any weight loss』
(one of the best) 『Simply one of the best complete yoga programs out there. It is tough and you will see results! If you can keep up and commit. Its is just a bit long, well over an hour. you will be totally workedOUT when you are done! Its great, the time limitation is the only reason I dont' use it as much as the others that I have.』
(Challenging Power Yoga Workout!) 『This is a challenging power yoga workout. Baron warms you up with a long standing forward bend. Then you jump right into a series of upward and downward facing dog poses which will quickly raise your heart rate and warm you right up. Later you move into some other challenging poses like the eagle pose, tree pose, camel, and crescent moon. Baron's cueing is very good. He walks you through the poses and always reminds you to only go as far as you can go. The only pose I could not do at all was the backward bend where you go all the way back and only have your hands and feet touching the floor. The workout ends with floorwork (but you still won't get a break until you reach the final relaxation pose). The cobra pose is included in this section to work your back, and a slow motion bicycle exercise works your obliques. This workout moves quickly. It requires a lot of balance, and you will feel your leg muscles working throughout the workout. Many of the poses incorporate lunges, squats, and balancing on one leg. I definitely think that this video will increase both your strength and your flexibility. This video was originally produced in 1998, and it does not have the highest production quality (the picture is not as crisp or clear as it could be). The only other minor detail that I did not like was the fact that everyone was wearing white, I prefer a little color or a more exciting background. Other than that I think this is a great workout for intermediate/advanced exercisers.』
(Kept falling Down) 『This is a good challenging workout, but a little fast-paced, and not always sufficienttly explained. The balancing series was a particular problem, and could have been slowed down to help explain the moves and improve your concentration. The students in the tape were also falling down. Not surprisingly from viewing his other tapes, he would use these episodes as an opportunity to touch them in areas generally considered a bit personal (which may be the reason that they all looked so tense).
And, (although I know reviewers aren't supposed to get personal) does his really need that silly get-up he's wearing on his head?
He could also drop the yogababble to make time for some practical information on beginner's modifications of the more difficult positions, so that people don't get hurt.』
(Very tough) 『First of all - thank you to the reviewer who wrote a review for Power yoga 3 - that's what made me finally buy this - once she didn't say it was blurred! To everyone out there who thinks these tapes are blurred and are bad quality - ie who read the same article I did on another site - yes, it's a Goodtime tape, but no, it's not blurred at all. The quality is just fine!
Now - workout. Phew. this must be his toughest, it'/s definitely his longest. At just under 70 minutes it's longer than soul of strength at about 53 mins and Power and PRecision at about 63 including breathing exercises. 46 minutes standing poses followed by 18 minutes floor poses. Intense. After the usual sunsalutation A and B opener - which seems to go for ever - he goes on to warriors, side angles and so on - and intersperes sun salutes in between. It never lets up. Definitely more intense than Soul of Strength - also has some different asanas - like sideways stretch, lots of standing backbends, a tiptoes pose I found quite challenging and so on.
In a way i understand the reviewer on another website who said she prefers his newer series - He is smoother, in a good way - his whole attitude is more relaxed, more philosophical perhaps - the music is MUCH better - and even though his new series is tough, the feel is more relaxed - overall (plus I love those lunge prayer twists which are not in this video). Although that sounds wierd, because it is a tough tape. However this is fabulous to alternate with - for days with more stamina - and is more challenging, and a satisfaction when you finish!』

(Good for seniors) 『This is a great dvd for all ages but has been really good for my 91 year old mother who recently suffered a stroke. What's really good is that it incorporates the use of a chair with arms that so many seniors require, the arms of a chair, to help them get up. This was the only dvd I found with that feature. I would recommend that it be close captioned as many seniors have hearing loss issues as well. I enjoy doing this with my mom and so does my husband.』
(chair exercises for senors) 『i was very disappointed in this video very boring music and activities. much too expensive for conent』
(Chair Exercises) 『Excellent instructions and results. Great for post-polio syndrome individuals who are now in their 60s. Skip the leg exercises if too strenuous, while keeping the upper body limber.』

IPhone 3G used's review (Another wonderful workout by Ellen) 『I've always liked Ellen Barrett -- her calm voice, her clear cueing, and her integrated workout series. This DVD is another demonstration of Ellen's exercising philosophy -- integrating the full body by incorporating cardio, strength, and stretches. To me this program is more of static strength trainings than yoga. I still break a sweat even after having used the DVD for a few weeks. Try it. You won't be disappointed!』
(WOW! Surprisingly great workout!) 『I love Ellen's workouts. She is so easy and pleasant to follow. This one packs it all and is definitely her toughest yet. It doesn't necessarily get your heart racing, but you're sure to break a serious sweat using such "seemingly" simple movements. It is a fabulous full body, toning, stretching workout. I highly recommend this one. For beginners I would recommend trying her Crunch Super SlimDown Pilates Yoga Blend first and if that's up your alley then definitely give this one a shot when you're up for more of a challenge.』
(Great intermediate workout ;-P) 『I own several Ellen Barrett led workouts, and this is one of the better ones. She's always chipper and outgoing without being anoying or offputting and she leads very well, with clear instruction so you shouldn't get lost too much. All up, this is about 45 minutes and great to do either after a strenuous workout, or at the end of a hard day. You will definately increase flexibility and balance after doing this even only a couple of times. It does get a little easier with each try. With all the yoga moves, there is also muscle toning too. I love the little stretches between moves. There is nice relaxing instrumental music and overall the workout is relaxing (yet you will feel this for the next day or so). I really enjoy doing this (I'm not a major Yoga fan, but enjoy this one) and have done it even twice in one day for the heck of it. It's great and Ellen is great. She's a terrific instructor who clearly loves doing yoga and teaches well. I highly recommend this one.』
(Challenging Yoga Fitness Workout) 『Just like Ellen Barrett's other two Buff Girl releases, this is a barefoot mat workout that lasts approximately forty-five minutes and will give you a thorough workout for your time spent. The video is shot inside The Studio, Ellen's workout space, which means the background is fairly boring. The moves are demonstrated by Ellen and two assistants, one of whom demonstrates modifications of the moves.
I particularly like Ellen Barrett as an instructor, and own almost all of her videos. Her cueing is excellent and easy to follow, she has a pleasant and calm voice, and she gives you encouragement and motivation to keep going when the going gets tough. She also has the type of lean, dancer-like (very feminine) body that I am working toward rather than a chiseled or muscular body like many other fitness instructors.
As you can probably tell from the title, this particular workout is more yoga oriented than her other Buff Girl Fitness videos (which involve more pilates), and includes poses that should be familiar to anyone with even the most basic yoga background: downward facing dog, Warrior I and II, etc. Some knowledge of basic yoga positions would be helpful when trying this video, but is not required in order to follow the exercises and get a good workout. The poses here are relatively simple to follow, and even people who are inflexible and/or out of shape (like me) should be able to follow along. One caveat: There were more inverted poses in this workout than what I am generally used to doing, which left me a little light-headed afterwards.
The workout itself is not simply a yoga workout either, but incorporates stretching, toning, pilates posture and an emphasis on flexibility. The exercises, including the yoga poses, include unique twists by the instructor to make them more effective and interesting. The first thirty minutes of exercise are standing, and the last fifteen are spent on the floor. In particular, this workout is geared toward toning and strengthening the female trouble areas of the abs, thighs, and hips.
In short, I can't say enough good things about Ellen Barrett. As an advanced beginner/intermediate exerciser, I recommend this workout highly to any level of exerciser, and believe you will find it to be both challenging and invigorating, no matter what your fitness level. I have been using this video in conjunction with her other two Buff Girl Fitness videos Fat Burning Fusion and Slim Sculpt on a rotating schedule for a well-balanced training series.』
(Ellen Barrett's most challenging) 『The first time I did this workout I was a whimpering, sweaty mess. However, I have done Ellen's workouts for so long that I really trusted her to deliver a rewarding workout. So I persevered, and after 5 or 6 times through it I really came to love it.
The hurdle for me was mainly developing the upper body strength to do all the downward dog, plank, cobra, etc poses. This makes it sound like a yoga class, which it really is not. The workout also greatly challenges my flexibility. It's so strenuous (for me anyway) yet so flowing and graceful.
So I am whimpering less as I gain strength and flexibility. But I really have to be up for it. You can't fake your way through this one!
All of Ellen Barrett's videos are great, especially the latest "Studio" series. They are the current mainstay of my lifelong endeavor to fitness. I love the invigorating, yet placid and unhurried nature of her workouts.』 『If you want to blast fat, firm up&de-stress, this all-in-one workout is perfect for you!
Dont worry Yogini Workout is not a yoga class. Its a workout that utilizes just a pinch of power yoga, along with core-Pilates&bootcamp style energizers, for the ultimate belly buns and thighs blitz. No equipment necessary, no shoes required. This signature Studio workout is challenging yet relaxing. Can exercise&tranquility co-exist? Yes! And you wont believe how good you feel when they collide! We begin with breathing invigoration, flow into a 30-minute zenful standing series, then spend 15 minutes on the mat, targeting our trouble spots the belly, buns&thighs. Ellen Barrett says: "Ive been obsessed with creating the perfect workout since I started teaching fitness as a college freshman. Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (A little fishy?) 『Hmmm... I sometimes find the Amazon reviews for New Age/pop psychology/alternative medicine merchandise curiously skewed with 5 star reviews that seem artificially sent out by devotees of the author or practitioner. (And at times seen it the other way -- organized attacks towards an author of an opposing point of view.)
I thought it odd that I was seeing many verbatim reviews by the same person scattered throughout many of the reviews for Murray's various DVDs and books. I clicked on the "see all my reviews" of over two pages of (5 star) reviewers and very frequently they only reviewed this guy's products and often pasted in the same comments for each DVD or book. Sorry, that stretches my credulity a bit too far.
I rarely see this kind of phenomena for other Amazon reviews. I'd certainly do my homework before buying into his very maverick approach (attunements by DVD). Not to say it couldn't be genuine. I guess just a word of caution.
And no, I am not associated with any Reiki practitioner or tradition. Just a novice trying to chart my course.』
(Great program!) 『I have nothing but great things to say about Steve Murray's program. All his books are well-written, to the point, and very informative. I also agree that if you can send someone long-distance Reiki, it only follows that you could send someone a long-distance attunement. I was fortunate enough to be able to do both a Reiki 1 seminar in person, and Steve Murray's Reiki 1 DVD attunement with his books. Both taught the same information about the history of Reiki, what Reiki is and isn't, and how attunements are given. The only difference is that in the seminar we were shown how to give Reiki to self and others and had the opportunity to practice quite a few times. I think that if Steve Murray could make a DVD with a demonstration of giving a full Reiki session to self and to others, that would make his program complete in my opinion. However, you can purchase William Lee Rand's `The Reiki Touch' set and that comes with a DVD demonstration. There is not an attunement in that set because they are of the belief that attunements must be done in person. The in- person attunement and Steve Murray's DVD attunement felt the same to me and I plan to do Reiki 2 and Master Reiki through Steve Murray. He also can send you a really beautiful certificate for each level you complete!』
(Empowering!) 『Empowering!! I am by nature open minded but cautious. I read Steve's website top to bottom and was inspired by the truth as I read it. It resonated with something deep inside me. I was very drawn to his openness and perspectives on Reiki and decided that this was the right path to follow. I have not been disappointed at all!! Very congruent in all his writing and his mission statement. His DVD's and books empower you on whatever level you are interested in learning. He is a true teacher. You can read it, see it and feel the energy. Thank you so much Steve for all your insightful information and for sharing all your knowledge with everyone in an affordable way. This was a smart investment for me. I am truly grateful and much more knowledgeable.』
(THIS taught me that Reiki really DOES work.) 『I have studied Reiki with teachers in person and online for over 10 years. THIS DVD was the first time I found myself trusting in the process of energy passing from one moment to another for the sake of "attunement" or the like. There was something magickal about the idea that I had to trust in this process due to it being a DVD and not a human standing right next to me. Most humans charge an arm and a leg simply to stand there anyway - and not much can happen that way either. It's true, not all people are going to have the same wonderful experience that I [and others] did. This is simply what Reiki is all about, each of us having a togetherness connection to the Reiki Energy source itself, while ALSO having our own experiences learning about how to harness and use it. This is what I've learned most from Steve; his books and DVD's have opened my heart and mind like no other Reiki teacher I've worked with. I'm very happy I bought and took his courses.』
(Great Book!) 『I was already a Reiki Master, and purchased Steve Murray's, Reiki Ultimate Guide, Ultimate Guide Vol. 2, Vol. 3, and Vol. 4, along with the DVD attunements for each. The attunements were very powerful, and the energy flow is no doubt stronger. This program has to be the most convent, and realistic way to get started in the Reiki healing practice. I have tried several other Reiki programs in the past, and Steve Murrays Reiki Ultimate Guides, are the very best I have found yet. You will not be disappointed. D. IPhone 3G used's review (Came in stated condition.) 『I read the previous reviews and many complained of a strong, new "chemical" smell. Although it did have a strong smell when I opened it and used it the first time, by the next day the smell had disappeared. Not sure if it's worth the exra few dollars compared to the other similar yet cheaper yoga mat on Amazon.』
(Why pay more?) 『I started a stretching class at my local gym 3 months ago. The mat supplied for the class were too thick and to short. Also, I knew for a fact that they were cleaned during the day but not after each class. Yes, I was ready to buy my first mat. I really like the fact that it's longer and 1/4 inch thick. I think it is perfect! I've noticed the smell but it fades away after a couple of days (just keep it unrolled for a couple of days). Honestly, I don't see how a more expensive mat will improve my confort or ... flexibility.
