Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (Way too fast) 『This DVD is more about workout and less about yoga. Yoga has to be slow - you need to feel the stretches and have time to concentrate. While she has many good poses, she moves WAY too quickly. I barely get into one pose, look at the TV to check my pose and she already has gone through to another pose. Too much flow and too little yoga. You can perhaps watch it for entertainment value if you enjoy watching flexible women, but it's aboslutely worthless if you're actually trying to do the poses, and I'm no beginner. Perhaps if I played on 16x slow-motion I might derive some value ...』
(Too Slow) 『I have been practicing yoga for about 5 years now and I've always been interested in Shiva Rea but her yoga DVD nearly put me to sleep. For me, there's way too much talking and the flowing sequences are just way too slow for me. I think if you're a beginner, then this would be a good start because you can customize your own yoga series but if you've been practicing for a while, you may want to use something more challenging. I recommend Baron Baptiste - Power Yoga 3. That DVD will make you sweat.』
(Fantastic in its own right...) 『This is a FANTASTIC DVD. Shiva is an amazing teacher who mixes just the right amount of instruction and great music. And while I agree that this material is included in the Yoga Shakti DVD which I also have an use daily; it is a beautiful practice in its own right. It should be noted that not every retailer is a fair with its pricing as Amazon and I have seen Yoga Shakti for $29.99 with this DVD priced at half. For someone just discovering Shiva; someone who does not want or have the time to make a new matrix; or someone on a limited budget this is a great choice.』
(Remix should be sold as such.) 『Solar Flow is a fine dvd, but should not be marketed as something separate from Yoga Shakti. There are no new sequences, just remixes of the Shakti sequences. Since you can rearrange all the Shakti sequences on your own, Solar Flow is superfluous. I don't feel a lot of shanti being swindled into purchasing the same thing twice. A little disclosure please! -Rebecca』
(Try Shiva's other DVD instead, Yoga Shakti) 『i believe this DVD is just a subset of Shiva's Yoga Shakti DVD!You're better of buying the full Yoga Shakti DVD for another 6-bucks which includes this practice and more. I absolutely LOVE the Yoga Shakti DVD and would highly recommend that instead!
Please see my other DVD reviews on Amazon, including Yoga Shakti ;o) 』

Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (Not a lot new here, but worth hearing) 『I was a little let down by this CD. I am a fan of other things Stephen Cope has done and was expecting to be really excited by this. But there is nothing new here and it seems much more surface level than his other works (perhaps it is the spoken vs. written, but I find people like Pema Chodrun and Jack Kornfield very compelling on audio). This would make a nice introduction for someone who really has not spent much time on yoga/meditation, but is probably not for people who have read Cope's work.』
(Awesome!) 『I love this CD set. I haven't listened to the first CD yet as I just received it yesterday and went straight to the second CD which has the exercises on it. Stephen has such a nice calming voice and I was extremely relaxed after listening to it. I love how he keeps you focused on the "feeling" aspect with no judgment. Very highly recommended!』
(Very useful exercises along with a simple introduction to a yoga worldview) 『This set consists of two CDs. The first CD provides a simplified introduction to yoga thought and covers concepts such as duality, interdependence and the distinction between feeling an emotion and acting out. It also talks about the development of witness consciousness, introduces the concept of an energy body and talks about how this is related to working with emotions. The first CD also briefly discusses yoga as a physical practice and an overall life philosophy. It's a good introduction for those who know very little about yoga, but have some real curiosity about the very basic concepts.
The second CD is where the real value of this set comes in. Disc TWO begins with an exercise called the daily body scan which puts one in touch with the sensations that are occurring in the body. Since emotions are related to what is occurring in the body and awareness of changes in these sensations, the overall effect is to heighten awareness of emotions as they are expressed or held in the body.
The second exercise on this CD talks about riding an emotion as a surfer would ride a wave. It builds on exercise 1 and helps the individual to disidentify with their emotion it while fully feeling it. This causes a felt shift and perhaps a healing transformation. This often happens in therapy, so this is not exactly a foreign concept.
I particularly like the third exercise on this CD which you do before you fall asleep. It is similar to exercise 2, but it brings in the events of the day and has a very relaxing phase that quiets the nervous system through deep and relaxed breathing. Physiologically, by extending the exhalation by relaxing the abdomen and avoiding chest breathing, the parasympathetic branch (calming) of the nervous system is activated. If you don't like deep explanations, then all I can say is it will help you with problems with insomnia.
If you are interested in working with emotions in this way and would like to read further, I suggest THE POWER OF FOCUSING and/or FOCUSING and Tara Bennet-Goleman's excellent book EMOTIONAL ALCHEMY. For a truly great and comprehensive introduction to yoga, I highly recommend THE YOGA TRADITION by Georg Feurenstein. If I could rate this book a 6 I would and it is a tremendous bargain at under $30.00.』
(Hypnotic) 『My husband and I used this regulary for a few months, and we both saw dramatic differences in how we handle and approach life. It came at just the right time to help me move my yoga practice "off the mat." Stephen Cope's technique is amazing: his voice, words, attitude, intent are all set at just the right level to provide a deeply accepting posture. In many ways it is the best self-hypnosis device I've ever found. I can't say enough positive things about Yoga for Emotional Flow!』
(A Must Have in Any Yoga Library) 『For anyone interested in a totally accesible guided meditation, the first CD provides a step by step methodology which is easy for any beginner and valuable for seasoned pracititioners. The verbal cues are perfect, the tone is soothing, the infomation is clear and spot on. I have given this CD set a gifts to friends going through difficult times, chemotherapy, separations, as well as to people new to yoga. Once you listen to this, you will want to share it!』 『More than 4,000 years ago, the early masters of yoga made an astonishing discovery: before we can find true happiness, we must first learn how to be open to the energy of our emotions. On Yoga for Emotional Flow, Stephen Cope, psychotherapist and Senior Scholar-in-Residence at Kripalu, the largest yoga center in America, presents a life-changing strategy for "riding the wave" in even the most challenging emotional situation.
Cope details the psychology behind the difficult circumstances we create for ourselves through improper handling of our feelings, and shares the prescription for effectively relating to anger, fear, grief, joy, and others from a yogic point of view. Through breathing and visualization techniques used successfully by thousands of his students, Cope offers listeners practical tips for day-to-day emotional balance; lessons in awakening the "witness consciousness" a nonjudgmental vantage point for welcoming emotions; steps for "clearing the field" at the end of each day, and more.
For the yogi, there are no "bad" feelings only unskillful responses to our ever-changing emotional states. Yoga for Emotional Flow is an essential program for working with these powerful forces, and a template for a new way of being.』

In stock soon. Order now to get in line. First come, first served. IPhone 3G used's review (A fine production) 『I really enjoy this recording of the Bhagavad Gita. A huge amount of work went into it. I think the idea of using a woman's voice for Krishna is a very bold and creative one. God, after all, has no sex (or has both sexes). Saints are not at all identified with the physical body.
I really enjoy the music and sound effects. They are loud at times but the spoken words are still mostly quite discernable. The music adds an emotional dimension to the production that would have been difficult to achieve with voice alone. The voices are also very passionate.
I hope that many people discover and listen to this. I'm wondering why it is in the Music section at Amazon.com because it is essentially an audiobook with music added.』
(A beautiful effort with one minor fault - 4.5 stars) 『I have been looking for a CD reading of this classic for a long time. I am amazed that this is the only complete copy I could find. That being said, it is a wonderful effort and faithfully read from a translation that I was not familiar with. Nina Shaka does an exceptional job as Krishna's voice. The producers elected to put a background musical soundtrack on the recording. Nothing wrong with that idea in itself, but the music often overpowers the reader's voice and becomes a distraction, not an enhancement. That minor quibble aside, I am very happy that this recording has been made available.』 『Deluxe Edition, (2) CDs, (1) colour 20-page booklet. The full-length unabridged text of the Bhagavad Gita as translated by Juan Mascaro / Mascaró (as published by Penguin Classics). It is presented in a new audio feature in English - Deluxe Edition (running time: 2 hrs 28 min.) Crystal Baschet organ by David Walters, Karma, Wisdom compositions by Just Isn't Music/Wayne Lotek Bennett. Voices by John Greaves, Alan Conway, Nina Shaka, Gonzague Huynh.』
IPhone 3G used's review (One of the best DVD's for those new to yoga) 『I can't say enough how much I enjoy the Yoga Zone dvd's taught by Alan Finger. This is a slow paced practice that gives you an excellent foundation and helps you really understand proper alignment. Unlike some "beginner" dvd's, the average person who has never done a yoga pose in their life can do this dvd because of the very precise and detailed instruction.
Using this DVD as a foundation to beginning my yoga practice has allowed me to do so many other yoga dvd's that are great workouts but perhaps lacking a bit in the instructional side. Alan Finger is very motivating and guides you through the best relaxations at the end. I find that although he talks through them nearly the entire time, I can actually relax better into them than in other dvd's shavasana's where my mind tends to wander.
I highly recommend this DVD. If you are just starting your practice you can't go wrong by starting out here!
』
(Really great yoga video) 『I've been a yoga teacher for almost 15 years and this is the best yoga video for beginners I've ever seen. I stumbled on it while researching yoga videos for seniors as I am looking to buy a video for my 92 year old grandmother who just started doing yoga, but this video is great for all ages (including her!). Alan Finger explains the poses clearly and goes at a gentle pace, making it accessible for beginners yet even more experienced yogis as myself will still learn from it and enjoy the practice. Unlike many other videos I've seen which either rush at a hectic pace or bore us with endless talking and no movement, this video flows nicely allowing participants to feel confident in knowing they are doing the poses safely and correctly while getting a great yoga class filled with a variety of poses and stretches. Once you are comfortable with this video I recommend trying Yoga Journal's Intro to Yoga series, which is a little more advanced. Between the two, you don't need any other videos.』
(A yoga teacher's perspective) 『This is an excellent program.
Allan Fingers offers very detailed and precise instructions each time I listen to it, I get additional hints and tips.
The program is rather quick paced and ends with an excellent guided relaxation.
After following the video several times and learning the sequence I prefer to do it without the DVD and take long time in the positions.
An amusing aspect of the video is that Allan Finger chose some extraordinarily sexy looking models, "senior yoga instructors", and the camera-person is at times dwelling on the sexy aspects of these "senior instructors" just a tad too long... Due to this, some of my women friends found the video offensive (perhaps they felt intimidated by these young and sexy as the models).
I highly recommend this program, it does not require any previous knowledge of yoga positions while at the same time, ever very advanced practitioners loved it.
』
(Already seen this) 『The workout itself isn't bad, per se, but it feels incomplete. It is the exact same workout as Flexibility and Tone. Exactly. There is one extra stretch position and the order of the movements is switched around once or twice, but other than that it's the same. Alan Finger even says some of the same lines. (I suppose that's inevitable, after doing dozens of shows and videos). In fact, Flexibility and Tone feels more 'thorough'. That workout leaves you feeling like you really did something, whereas this one leaves you feeling unchallenged and wondering if you just wasted an hour. I'm glad this is really inexpensive these days. Get Flexibility and Tone...and if you already have that one and are determined to get a new Yoga video, don't get this one.』
(harder than expected) 『I got my yoga dvd today and sat down to view it. I have not done yoga before so need something for beginners. after watching it I have a hard time believing this is a beginners tape. it is long and hard. it will take me forever to get this learned. if you are a beginner I suggest you keep looking.』 『"Go at your own pace, don't strain!" Alan Finger reminds viewers in the introduction to this Yoga Zone workout. They're words of wisdom for anyone who's ever tried (and failed) to emulate the moves of some perfect-looking human pretzel on what purports to be a "beginners" videotape. In contrast, Finger's gentle, refreshingly detailedIntroduction to Yogabegins with basic breathing techniques and moves on to some of the most fundamental poses in any practice, including lunges, twists, cobra, dog, triangle, and even a corpse pose tutorial that comes complete with guided relaxation. (Later tapes in this series build on the asanas taught here, adding more advanced variations and positions.) Two instructors demonstrate different versions of each pose, one for more flexible advanced students and one for less flexible beginners. We even get to see one student topple out of stork pose! Calm, thorough, absolutely unrushed, this is a great tape for those who've never taken a yoga class in their lives. Even experienced students, however, may find that the relaxed pace helps them reach a deeper level of understanding of how body, mind, and breath can work together. Fittingly, the credits roll over Finger and his fellow instructors demonstrating advanced positions of impressive strength and beauty; like the tape itself, it's a perfect introduction to the continuing rewards of yoga practice.--Mary Park』

Usually ships in 7 to 12 days IPhone 3G used's review (Get started with Lilias) 『I am not a senior but very inflexible and a yoga novice so I decided to start with this DVD. Lilias is a joy to watch. There is a morning session (more energizing) and an evening session (aimed more toward destressing and relaxing). I think almost anyone would be able to do these stretches and easy yoga moves. Lilias does tend to talk a lot when explaining the moves, which is very helpful when you are just learning them but not once you are familiar with the DVD and waiting for her to move on. What would be great is if this DVD had two versions of the session on it - one which went slow with a lot of explanation and another version which just flowed from move to move. Despite that, I would still highly recommend this DVD. It will familiarize you with yoga and, when you are ready, you can always move on to a more challenging one. As for me, I enjoy Lilias' calming and happy personality so much that I have stayed with this one for now.』
(Different than I thought) 『I had done yoga to Lilias before, though I had not owned one of her tapes. I thought this one would be a brief exercise at bedtime to calm and relax me into a nice sleep. The sessions are longer than I would like, approx. 35 min. give or take. I have not actually performed the exercises yet; I have to prepare myself for the longer session time. I really did not want to give 35 minutes to this before bedtime, about 15 min. should be enough.』
(Still the best in the last 20 years) 『I have many Yoga tapes and CD's. This is the very best especially for seniors and beginners.』
(easy for seniors) 『very easy to follow and understand .most of us can easily do the exercise. I go to senior yoga sponsored by the council of ageing and this is the program she follows.』

It really does work. Feel an energy feast after doing this one and peace of mind and ofcourse room for the new! Move on your Yoga mat and move your life! Open new doors and walk through them. The segments suit all. Clear your ailments and put some bounce in your step and stand taller than you ever have before. Come on let Dr Yoga knock on your door!!!!Thanks Ravi and Ana!!!!』
(Very Good) 『This DVD is really versatile, and has powerful sequences. I love the fertility and potency chapter, because in ten minutes, it helps rebalance my hormonal levels in an incredible way. Ana has perfect form and Ravi's instructions are very clear. This is a must have if you are short in time, as the chapters make it really easy to organize a personal session. This DVD is of a great value!』
(Endless Possibilities!) 『I am very impressed with all the different options this DVD presents. This, along with their Yoga Quick Fixes present short sets which can always accommodate you when the mood strikes. There is something for everything here. Whether you have a particular ailment or not, all the sets work on building and guarding your health as well as strengthening and toning your body. This is a good beginner to intermediate (I would imagine advanced yogis (if they actually exist would benefit too) workout with very little breath of fire, and I would recommend it to anyone at any level. The most challenging set is the Strong Bones&Muscle Tone and it really makes me break a good little sweat for the amount of time. After any short set from either of these DVDs I can jump in the shower feeling totally energized and connected to my core - and I love the fact that I can do it before work and feel I have really done a great practice before I have walked out the door! Wonderful!』
(Well-done DVD provides a wide variety of short but intense kundalini yoga practices) 『Dr. Yoga House Call is one of the latest offerings from the husband/wife team of Ravi Singh/Ana Brett. In the same style as their previous videos, House Call features Ana alone on screen, practicing on a small rug in an all-white room, while she and Ravi take turns providing voiceover instruction. You'll recognize some of the music and yoga sequences from their previous videos, but there's plenty that's brand new here as well.
Like its sister video, Yoga Quick Fixes, Dr. Yoga House Call has over 3 hours of footage, which provides wonderful variety but can feel a bit overwhelming. The Main Menu offers the following options:
*Play DVD *Tune In *Breath Primer *Energy Warm-Ups (14 minutes) *Dr. Yoga Remedy Options *Dr. Yoga Quick Sets *Deep Relaxation *3 Amazing Meditations *Closing Prayer
The Main Menu leads to several sub-menus as described below. Dr. Yoga Remedy Options: Fertility&Potency (10m), Bye Bye Back Pain (11m), Strong Bones&Muscle Tone (13m), Anti-Arthritis (9m), Heart Helper (12m), Breast Cancer Prevention (4m), Immune Invigorator (7m), Brain Booster (13m), Eagle Eyes (10m), Inflammation Relief (6m) Dr. Yoga Quick Sets: Move Your Energy Move Your Life! (10m), Flexible&Free (16m), Strong as Steel (13m), Health&Happiness (16m), Kundalini Yoga Superset (34m) 3 Amazing Meditations Amazing Minute Breath (6m), So Darshan Chakra Kriya (3.5m), Sa-Ta-Na-Ma Meditation (14m) [These same meditation sequences also appear on Ravi and Ana's other new release, Dr. Yoga House Call.]
As you can see, House Calls offers sets designed to address more chronic conditions--unlike Quick Fixes, which focuses on more common, transient issues. I also found the practices on House Call to be more active than on Quick Fixes, including more use of Breath of Fire and more arm movements, which made the practices feel pretty challenging at times.
If you are a die-hard Ana/Ravi fan, you will probably want to add both this DVD and Quick Fixes to your collection. However, if (like myself) you are more of a dabbler in Kundalini Yoga, you may prefer Quick Fixes, which in my opinion contained practices that were more generalizable as well as a bit less strenuous.
In summary, this is a well-done, well-produced DVD of energizing Kundalini yoga practices, and I give it a final rating of 4 1/2 stars.』
(great, but waiting for remasered copy) 『Ana and Ravi have a great partnering of talent from the music and singing to the well-edited and taught glorious healing exercises.』

It was a definate plus to helping me with one of my areas that I always had trouble with.』
(Good but a little boring) 『This is a great DVD to strengthen and stretch your back, but I am used to a more fast paced work out. It would probably be beneficial for me to continue with this DVD, but because I felt bored I just couldn't get myself to keep doing it.』
(it delivers) 『I read a few reviews before purchasing, doubtful however as to whether I would be able to benefit. The DVD delivers as promised, with very clear and soothing instructions, calming music, a steady pace, and a level of difficulty well suited for beginners. I have used it a couple of weeks now; and I feel quite hopeful that I can get my back issues under control.』
(Great DVD!) 『I've had lower back pain off and on for 2 years, getting increasingly worse over the last 6 months. I started doing the stretches in the DVD, and my back hasn't gotten sore since! I feel my back getting stronger and actually feel like I can start adding other exercises to my day!』
(No back problems anymore) 『Before I purchased this DVD I couldn't change my position in bed without waking up because of the pain in my lower back. I didn't want to go to my doctor to get any pills, I wanted to try a way without painkiller. So I discovered the DVD and after just one week daily 30 minutes practice, I was sleeping like a baby, and my back problems belonged in the past』
IPhone 3G used's review (too small) 『I ordered the 65 cm ball. I wanted the exact one I was using in Physical Therapy, which was a 65cm theraband ball. This one is the smaller size ball, marked 65cm.???』
(Very well made) 『I liked the "anti-burst" feature of this item. I followed the instructions and added the air, then let it sit over night and added more air. I have then used it for six months and just now am noticing that it could use a little bit more air.
A friend of mine bought an exercise ball at Meijers and it lasted barely a week without needing more air. It leaks constantly so that her son (who she bought it for) ends up using it partially deflated which defeats much of its purpose. I was hesitant to want to deal with that hassle, but this is a much stronger rubber material that is clearly better made then the Meijers one that cost barely half the price as this one.
The color is not however "Red". It is very clearly orange. I really dislike the color. I wish I could have gotten this same ball in white or blue.』
(Durable, high quality, but stiff initially) 『The Theraband exercise ball is the highest quality ball I have purchased. The only negative is the initial stiffness of the ball. After inflating the ball, it was pretty hard for the first few weeks, making crunches somewhat uncomfortable. In the long run, however, once completely broken in, I think this ball will prove its worth.』
(Excellent quality stability ball!) 『I purchased this ball in the 55 cm size (red). This size seems ideal for my height (just shy of 5'5"), although choice of ball size is also a matter of personal preference. Unlike my previous ball, which was made of a thin, sticky vinyl, this ball is made of thick durable, smooth plastic. Furthermore, my previous ball lost air easily (I had to add air to it every time I used it), whereas I have NEVER had to add air to this ball since I purchased it almost two years ago. It is definitely worth the investment to pay a little more for a ball that is high quality and will never any maintenance, and so I highly recommend this product.』
(The best one) 『The ball is great. No problem w/leaks. Very sturdy. If you are over weight get the next size up. I did. Fits right. This is the real therapy ball.』 『The Thera-Band SDS (Slow Deflate System) Exercise Ball is made from a specially formulated compound that enables the ball to resist the tendency to burst when punctured. Included exercise guide illustrates correct positions for 24 exercises designed to increase flexibility, improve coordination and strengthen the abdomen, back, chest, arms, thighs, legs and buttocks. Uses for the Thera-Band Ball include: exercise, gym, balance, fitness, yoga, pilates, resistance and stability. Clinic packaging (in polybag). Pump not included.』
