『This is an MX Imports original! Combining East and West, enjoy this colorful and decorative Talavera Om. The piece is for decoration only and has a string in the back for hanging on the wall. Please note that our multi-color styles each come in a different color combination. * = All Large Oms are only available in our Multi-Color (MC) style. Dimensions: 11.0" X 11.0" X 1.0". The striking ceramic known as Talavera is over 800 years old, originating in the Talavera de la Reina region of Spain. At that time, it was called Majolica. Known for its beautiful glaze work, Talavera was imported to Mexico in the 16th century where it was used to decorate monasteries and churches with tiles and religious figures. Talavera is not turned or tin glazedthe pigments are brushed onto raw or unfired glaze. Each piece takes between 12 and 15 days to complete. It must set for 16 to 18 hours before being liquefied and poured into molds. The pieces are then hand polished and fired for six hours at 1500 (F) degrees, then painted and baked again in an 1800 (F) degree oven. Prehispanic Mexican craftsmen blended the majolica process with their own interpretation of the method to work the clays of the region and incorporated their art forms and colors. Their product came to be known as Talavera. We are happy to pay about 20-25% above 'market' value to our artisans in Mexico in order to create a sustainable business for them as well as in the hopes of bringing up the standard of living of the community at large. Unlike other Mexican import companies we specialize in Mexican Talavera. We stand behind our products with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.』
IPhone 3G used's review (The Best For Meditation, Yoga, Massage, Healing) 『Karma Moffett has created several wonderful albums of his Tibetan Bells. This is the first and maybe that is why it is my favorite. Tranquility Bells and Chakra Bells are also wonderful. There is no better music for the practice of meditation, for healing work, yoga, or where ever you wish to experience transcendance. Visit his website for information on his other works. This recording is special.』
(A Special Album) 『Far removed from the airy fairy banality of much new age music, Karma Moffett's 'Golden Bowls' manages to preserve the depth and spirituality of Tibetan bell music without diluting its essence. For meditation, relaxation, or any other quiet moments, this is a classic of the genre.』
(Guaranteed to send you to another dimension) 『Since the CD Golden Bowls came out, I've bought a number of copies ... two for myself and the others for friends. While I've purchased other CDs of Tibetan music, none comes close to this in the serene otherworldly tones produced as the bowls resonate. Golden Bowls is perfect for meditation. When the world is closing in or I'm anxious and ungrounded, all I have to do is stretch out and listen to the deeply vibrating tones of the bowls as they're struck one by one. They take me to a transcendent place where I seem to float above my body and mind.』 『Recorded live at the Land of the Medicine Buddha Monastery in 1995, this is an international classic in the field of meditation music. The exquisite tones and harmonics of Moffett's carefully chosen antique Tibetan Singing Bowls, augmented by their wide range of notes, assist one's practice of meditation, massage, T'ai Chi or yoga. The tones from these bowls are designed to penetrate the particles of rainbow dust which hold together this impermanent illusion, he says.』

The DVD is surpassed only by the music and chants, which will continue to work "in you" and "through you" during your everyday stress and journey in life. Highly recommended for the spiritual and active practice of yoga, meditation and a heightened inner reflection. Well done.』

The music is upbeat but the beat does not interfere with the rhythm of the pilates moves. This music also works well for an awakening yoga session. You won't be disappointed if you purchase this cd.』
(My Class Participants Noticed!) 『I promised some new music for my Pilates classes and played this CD and even my class participants noticed it. We usually don't notice the music that much. I particularly like the steady 95 BPM throughout the workout.』 『Rhythmic, beautiful and powerful, Mat Pilates 2 is the perfect soundtrack for an energizing Pilates workout. This CD is specifically designed for Mat Pilates classes as is divided into 3 sections. 1 Warmup at 100 bpm, 2 The Workout at 95 bpm, and 3 Cooldown at 85 and 70 bpms. The rhythm is steady and is the perfect backdrop for the various movements. Invigorate your classes and become a better Pilates instructor using the right music for this special workout. Try it and see how this special music will improve your class.』
IPhone 3G used's review (Need props - one of which costs $50) 『This was given to me as a gift 3 years ago. I had no yoga experiance at the time. I got so frustrated I swore off yoga. But recently I decided to try again in a class. I highly recommend a class for first timers. Now I love yoga and thought I'd give this DVD another try - mistake! It requires a yoga bolster ($50) and blankets. I tried using couch cushions, etc but it just isn't the same. I ended up very frustrated - definitely not relaxed. Know that you need a bolster, and if it is your first time trying yoga - take a class. You'll be much happier :)』
(Uses props to attain deep relaxation in restorative postures) 『Restorative yoga utilizes various props to help the body attain deep states of relaxation. This video is divided in two sections: the first, supported backbends (40 minutes) is the most prop-intensive, using up to two yoga bolsters and various blankets, and the second, supported forward bends (36 minutes) uses only a chair and blankets.
Patricia Walden leads the first practice. She begins with a supported child's pose and then moves into supported backbend, reclined cross-legged pose, supported bridge, supported shoulderstand (aka legs-up-the-wall), and finally, relaxation pose both with and without the props. Each posture is held for several minutes: Patricia allows ample time to set up the props and encourages you to adjust your props as needed to order to achieve greater relaxation. Although using actual yoga props would probably be best, I substituted pillows for the bolsters and was able to make due. The second practice is led by Rodney Yee and begins with a series of seated warm-up movements: you flow from staff pose to cobblers pose to seated wide-legged pose and repeat this sequence several times. Using a chair, Rodney then guides you through several seated forward bends with your head resting on the chair, including wide-legged seated forward bend, head-to-knee pose, and seated forward bend. Next, he uses the chair to support the thighs in a supported plow pose; I especially liked this one, as I usually avoid this pose but enjoyed it here. As with the first segment, each posture is held several minutes, and the practice ends with relaxation pose. Both Patricia and Rodney provide excellent voiceover cueing, and both have gentle, soothing voices which nicely match the soft background music.
Overall, I think this video delivers exactly what it promises, which is to provide a sequence of relaxing yoga postures. If you are interested in trying yoga mainly to foster relaxation, both this video and the accompanying props would be a worthwhile investment. I think that these practices would be appropriate for those new to yoga so long as they carefully follow the instructions; the video is also suitable for more advanced yogis looking for a restorative practice.』
(True Relaxation) 『I've heard alot how yoga can help you relax so I thought I would give it a try. With so many videos on the market I decided to go to my local libray and check a few out to see; 1. would I like yoga and 2. which video would be best for me. A person under a lot of stress and anxiety I found Yoga Journal's Yoga Practice for Relaxation the best for me. The video is easy to follow, the sounds are very soothing and the moves are very, very relaxing. Working with the props are a bit awkward but after awhile you get the hang of it.
I would higly recommend this video to anyone who wants to learn to relax for a few minutes and just enjoy a quite time.』
(Very Relaxing) 『This is the first yoga video I have ever tried, and I am really happy with it. Patricia Walden and Rodney Yee are great teachers, and the video really does help me relax. True, the props can be annoying at times-- for each pose in the first session, you need a bolster and blankets. I use firm pillows stacked on top of each other which have seemed to work well. I would recommend this video to anyone who really needs to relax, provided they are patient and willing to invest the time and dedication that it requires in order to be effective.』
(Well worth 6 stars if I amazon.com gave me the room!!!) 『Positively, the MOST relaxing yoga tape ever invented! Many of the Living Yoga and Yoga Journal tapes reccommend this tape for women during their menstrual periods, to restore balance and bring about a peace of mind, and it most certainly does the trick! Unlike the more recent Living Yoga series, the background is not all that fantastic, but that's hardly relevant. What makes this tape well worth the 6 stars is the YOGA.
It is divided into 2 sessions; the first, with Patricia Walden lasts about 40 minutes, and she demonstrates restorative poses to open and soften the body. This session requires bolsters and blankets, as well as the use of a wall for one particular pose. I use rolled up blankets and pillows, which work just as well. The idea here is not to copy what Patricia Walden is doing, but rather to adapt to your own personal needs; she even encourages the viewer to move the blankets and bolsters around in order to find what makes you most comfortable. In the beginning of this session she suggests that these poses be used when one is tired, sick, during PMS or menses. I personally use this tape for all of these reasons, and the results continue to amaze me. Before trying this tape I have seriously considered the use of perscription drugs to treat my PMS and menstrual cramps, which I decided would be a last resort should this tape fail to give me results. I am by NO MEANS suggesting that this tape be used to treat potential medical ailments such as menstrual cramps or symptoms associated with PMS, but in my particular case, it seems to have worked wonders. Patricia Walden guides you slowly and effectively, never neglecting a single detail such as when to breathe or what to visualize. This session is gentle, effective, and probably the most relaxing yoga session I have ever experienced.
The second session is done by Rodney Yee; it focuses on supported forward bends to calm nerves and quiet the mind. I sometimes do both sessions back to back; the tape is a total of 75 minutes, yet this particular session is only 30 minutes long. For this session you need a blanket and a chair (I use a pillow instead ... I always modify props!). There are a few poses I can't see every person trying, espically when they're sick or menstruating or just plain tired. It is a slightly more challenging session but still, it really relaxes you. I sometimes get anxiety attacks during PMS, and although this session is challenging for a 'relaxation' yoga practice, Rodeny's voice and soothing visualization totally melts the stress away. The meditative effects of this session are not to be underestimated ... you simply CAN'T remain stressed after doing the poses in this session ... I DARE YOU!! ;o)
All in all, I can't possibly praise this tape enough. It may not be what everyone wants in a yoga tape, and some of the reviews seem to demonstrate a kind of disappointment with the 2 sessions, but relaxation yoga is NOT about pushing your body to the limits of its flexibility. Patricia Walden explains in the beginning of this tape that this pracice is not about DOING, it's about UNDOING; restoring the body and mind. If this is what you are looking for in a yoga practice, then this tape is absolutley the BEST! Even for the hard-core yoga fans, it's well worth a try ... you never know what you'll find in that quiet medititve state these tapes gently guide you in. Inner peace is not something I'd take for granted, even if it is only on a 75 minute tape!』
『You can't help but let stress slide away if you unwind with this video of restorative yoga poses that replenish your body's energy and rejuvenate your spirit. Restorative means you're notworkingyour body, but "undoing, allowing nature to restore you ...[and] the healing powers of yoga to reveal themselves to you," explains Patricia Walden, who teaches the first 30-minute session of resting poses. Your body is supported by props, such as folded blankets, a bolster, or a wall, so the stretches are not intense. The poses are taught slowly and quietly, with plenty of time to sink into each pose, open the joints, and relax the muscles. The second 30-minute session, taught by Rodney Yee, emphasizes forward bends, often sitting on the floor in various positions, with your forehead and arms resting on a chair for support. The instruction throughout the video is clear, complete, and patient. The whole experience is relaxing: with the instructors' soothing voices and the gentle music in the background, there's no rush to leave each pose.--Joan Price』
IPhone 3G used's review (One of the best DVD's for those new to yoga) 『I can't say enough how much I enjoy the Yoga Zone dvd's taught by Alan Finger. This is a slow paced practice that gives you an excellent foundation and helps you really understand proper alignment. Unlike some "beginner" dvd's, the average person who has never done a yoga pose in their life can do this dvd because of the very precise and detailed instruction.
Using this DVD as a foundation to beginning my yoga practice has allowed me to do so many other yoga dvd's that are great workouts but perhaps lacking a bit in the instructional side. Alan Finger is very motivating and guides you through the best relaxations at the end. I find that although he talks through them nearly the entire time, I can actually relax better into them than in other dvd's shavasana's where my mind tends to wander.
I highly recommend this DVD. If you are just starting your practice you can't go wrong by starting out here!
』
(Really great yoga video) 『I've been a yoga teacher for almost 15 years and this is the best yoga video for beginners I've ever seen. I stumbled on it while researching yoga videos for seniors as I am looking to buy a video for my 92 year old grandmother who just started doing yoga, but this video is great for all ages (including her!). Alan Finger explains the poses clearly and goes at a gentle pace, making it accessible for beginners yet even more experienced yogis as myself will still learn from it and enjoy the practice. Unlike many other videos I've seen which either rush at a hectic pace or bore us with endless talking and no movement, this video flows nicely allowing participants to feel confident in knowing they are doing the poses safely and correctly while getting a great yoga class filled with a variety of poses and stretches. Once you are comfortable with this video I recommend trying Yoga Journal's Intro to Yoga series, which is a little more advanced. Between the two, you don't need any other videos.』
(A yoga teacher's perspective) 『This is an excellent program.
Allan Fingers offers very detailed and precise instructions each time I listen to it, I get additional hints and tips.
The program is rather quick paced and ends with an excellent guided relaxation.
After following the video several times and learning the sequence I prefer to do it without the DVD and take long time in the positions.
An amusing aspect of the video is that Allan Finger chose some extraordinarily sexy looking models, "senior yoga instructors", and the camera-person is at times dwelling on the sexy aspects of these "senior instructors" just a tad too long... Due to this, some of my women friends found the video offensive (perhaps they felt intimidated by these young and sexy as the models).
I highly recommend this program, it does not require any previous knowledge of yoga positions while at the same time, ever very advanced practitioners loved it.
』
(Already seen this) 『The workout itself isn't bad, per se, but it feels incomplete. It is the exact same workout as Flexibility and Tone. Exactly. There is one extra stretch position and the order of the movements is switched around once or twice, but other than that it's the same. Alan Finger even says some of the same lines. (I suppose that's inevitable, after doing dozens of shows and videos). In fact, Flexibility and Tone feels more 'thorough'. That workout leaves you feeling like you really did something, whereas this one leaves you feeling unchallenged and wondering if you just wasted an hour. I'm glad this is really inexpensive these days. Get Flexibility and Tone...and if you already have that one and are determined to get a new Yoga video, don't get this one.』
(harder than expected) 『I got my yoga dvd today and sat down to view it. I have not done yoga before so need something for beginners. after watching it I have a hard time believing this is a beginners tape. it is long and hard. it will take me forever to get this learned. if you are a beginner I suggest you keep looking.』 『"Go at your own pace, don't strain!" Alan Finger reminds viewers in the introduction to this Yoga Zone workout. They're words of wisdom for anyone who's ever tried (and failed) to emulate the moves of some perfect-looking human pretzel on what purports to be a "beginners" videotape. In contrast, Finger's gentle, refreshingly detailedIntroduction to Yogabegins with basic breathing techniques and moves on to some of the most fundamental poses in any practice, including lunges, twists, cobra, dog, triangle, and even a corpse pose tutorial that comes complete with guided relaxation. (Later tapes in this series build on the asanas taught here, adding more advanced variations and positions.) Two instructors demonstrate different versions of each pose, one for more flexible advanced students and one for less flexible beginners. We even get to see one student topple out of stork pose! Calm, thorough, absolutely unrushed, this is a great tape for those who've never taken a yoga class in their lives. Even experienced students, however, may find that the relaxed pace helps them reach a deeper level of understanding of how body, mind, and breath can work together. Fittingly, the credits roll over Finger and his fellow instructors demonstrating advanced positions of impressive strength and beauty; like the tape itself, it's a perfect introduction to the continuing rewards of yoga practice.--Mary Park』

I am an avid exerciser and have found the workout to be great for flexibility, strength (esp. lower body), and stamina. The ONLY thing it lacks is more of an upper body focus. I just do some free weights when I'm finished (2-3 times per week has worked really well). Erin is personable and not at all annoying. You don't need ANY special props, just a coffee table and edge of your couch. I highly recommend for fit, and "wanting-to-be-fit" moms to be!』
(Pretty good) 『I'm only about 6 weeks pregnant but I decided to go ahead and try to find a comparable workout video to what I've already been doing. With my last pregnancy I used Denise Austin and I was really unimpressed; however, this one was pretty decent. She does go from one move to the next somewhat fast and it doesn't give you much time to get your props ready. Once you've gone through the DVD once though you'll be prepared for the next time. The production value isn't very good either. It was definitely just shot in her home, but you still get a really good workout. I would probably give it one more star if it had other women in different stages of their pregnancy. This only has Denise herself doing the entire workout. I would recommend it though in addition to some brisk walking a few times a week.』
(Love This Workout!) 『I'm in my fifth month and bought 3 dvds - this one, Perfect Pregnancy Workout Vol. 1, and Prenatal Yoga with Shiva Rea. I really love Erin's personality - she's upbeat, easy to follow, but not cheesy like many instructors. And, it's a really good workout that is challenging and fun. I definitely recommend it!』
(Great workout, easy to adapt, and no props needed) 『I really loved this DVD. I am now 28 weeks and I am still doing this workout, although I modified some of the exercises a bit. It is easy to adapt to your pace, fitness level, and stage of pregnancy, and the exercises do not require props like balls, weights, rubber bands etc., which some of the other dvds require. It is also easy to remember, and I have done some of the exercises in the swimming pool :) Overall I really enjoy it and I think Erin is a great instructor. I have both the Gabrielle Reece workout (which I like) and the Shiva Rea yoga, but this one is the DVD I use and like the most.』
(Good prenatal workout) 『This is a workout for folks who have been exercising all along and are looking for a prenatal workout that isn't too slow or easy. If you are out of shape or new to exercise try something like Crunch Yoga Mama or walk. This workout makes me feel really good when I'm done. To be honest, I don't really enjoy this workout; I don't get lost in the exercises like I do with other workouts. I really like Kyra Landgolf's Total Body Tone. There's a 7 mo pregnant exerciser in the video who modifies the workout for pregnancy. This is the workout I'd recommend if you were an exerciser before and want to continue. But, back to this workout. Expect lots of squats, some upper body work through modified pushups, some tricep dips, a few ballet moves, pilates floorwork and stretches. Your heartrate will go up, you will sweat and you will feel really good when you are done. I haven't had the same aches and pains that I had with my first pregnancy. I think the video is worth a try, maybe you'll connect with it more than I have.』 『"Erin's a pro at fitness, she's a pro at pregnancy, and she fuses these together for two perfect prenatal workouts. (Good details but short practice) 『In my opinion these DVD's provide excellent descriptions and demonstrations of each pose which is a great help to anyone practicing at home and needing a little guidance. The guidance provided is really clear and easy to understand.
For a newcomer I do not think that they are a substitute for the guidance of a real live tutor but once you have some experience they are great as a reminder of how you should be working in a pose.
Personally I find the actual workout time of 20 minutes is really a little short and would be better at 30 or even 45 minutes. However, I bought them specifically for the detailed pose overviews.』

Usually ships in 24 hours IPhone 3G used's review (Also Great for Stretching) 『I pop in the You Can Do Yoga DVD after one of Leslie Sansone's Walk DVDs, and I find that the yoga DVD is excellent for stretching after one of Leslie's walks. My flexibility has already begun improving after only two weeks, and I don't feel nearly as tight just after a walk. I'm also much more relaxed since I incorporated the yoga DVD in my exercise routine. Give the You Can Do Yoga DVD a try.』
(Okay yoga DVD from a great teacher) 『I am a big Leslie fan and feel that she can always make the exercises simple enough for everyone to participate. The DVD is divided into an introduction, showing the poses, some of them for an advanced beginner. There is no explanation of props as aids until later, introduced in the second half, true work out. The first half could have been left out for me. The second half is the actual session. Again, Leslie encourages work at your pace etc, but talks so much she does not cue you when to stop the pose, especially if you are twisted around and can't see the screen. The variety of poses are good though and I would do the second half to augment my own practice. Overall, a B- experience.』
(Simple but not easy enough) 『I'm a big fan of Leslie's WATP workouts so I had high hopes for this one too. Unfortunately, I didn't think this is one of her best. The music is strangely upbeat for a yoga workout and she misses a number of cues (and when you're twisted around, not looking at your tv that's a problem).
I am an inflexible person and new to yoga. There are VERY few modifications shown. She'll say something like, "If you can't reach, use a chair" but she never shows how to use the chair.
I'm sure that this is a decent starter workout, but I expected better from Ms. Sansone.』
(Leslie Sansone - Yoga) 『My first attempt at yoga. As always,Leslie is very thorough with her instructions. Loved the basic poses and stretching. Will add this to my cool down to get a better stretch at the end of my workouts.』
(great for beginners and/or unflexible people) 『I have tried numerous yoga videos and this is the best one I have found so far. I suffer from Fibromyalgia and by no means am I flexible. This is the only video that didn't have me twisting into a pretzel and in pain the next day. Leslie includes a section where she explains all the poses (name and how to do it) and then another one for the entire routine (explaining modifications along the way). She is also easy and enjoyable to follow (no group of people with her) and I feel wonderful after doing the routine.』 『Studio: Gaiam Americas Release Date: 04/20/2004 Rating: Nr』
